Preslee’s Brings Southern Cuisine and Lots of Bourbon to Shady Acres | Eater Houston

"An airy, laid-back, country-store–inspired restaurant in Shady Acres from brothers Brandon and Justin Piper (named for Justin’s one-year-old daughter) is targeting an end-of-month opening. The standalone space at 1430 West 19th Street was completely overhauled from a former Chinese restaurant into an 85-seat interior with opened wooden rafters and operable windows, plus a massive 150-foot outdoor patio for 300 outfitted with rope swings, hammocks, concrete ping-pong tables, hand-built wooden tables and whimsical vintage finds like life-sized Blues Brothers statues and a giant Astrodome mural. The Southern-style counter-service menu emphasizes comfort fare—think chicken-fried steak to wash down with cold local beers—alongside stuffed turkey legs, crawfish mac and cheese, plantain-crusted mahi-mahi and homemade banana pudding. An interior ice cream parlor will scoop a dozen flavors, including playful combinations such as cake-batter mixed with crushed Lemonhead candies. A newly added bar focuses on bourbon-forward cocktails (including Old Fashioneds), frozen margaritas and “froze,” six tap lines (two reserved for wine) and a large local beer selection; the restaurant will operate seven days a week starting at lunch, stay open later on weekends (until midnight), and offer Sunday brunch (10 a.m.–5 p.m.) with flexibility for big football nights." - Tierney Plumb

Google
I truly love this place, the atmosphere and the big patio with a playground for kids. I got the boil shrimp and it was delicious. Fried fish is a great option too, and if you are wanting to get a started I recomend the frito pie 🙌 The place is open sitting, you order at the counter then they will bring out the food.

Google
super swagilicious spot 😼perfect place to eat and chillax after a long day. would definitely recommend the chicken fried chicken, turkey leg, mac and cheese skillet with brisket, and fall salad 🌞

Google
This is my favorite casual restaurant! There are healthy options and delicious fried options alike. Awesome lunch specials, family friendly, large outdoor space with swings and playground, indoor space with lots of sports to watch, great friendly service, fun variety of iced teas (most recent is a coconut sweet tea…yum), I could go on and on. So glad it’s in the neighborhood!

Google
We enjoyed our meals. We all opted for burgers. I had the smokehouse burger, which is double patty, onion rings, brisket, house made pickles, and BBQ sauce. It also came with what seemed to me like handcut fries. I personally liked those as well. Great food, great service. They had a great assortment of teas. We also got ice cream and enjoyed the outdoor atmosphere.

Google
Preslee’s has been trending all over social media! We had some friends visiting and I wanted to try it out since it says it’s family friendly. It exceeded our expectations! The amount of seating this place has is impressive as well as the massive outdoor area. We loved the way we could socialize eat and watch the kids all at once. Oh and that ice cream parlor won that prize with the kiddos. We will definitely be back once the weather gets cooler. Kids will never be bored parents can enjoy drinks and food while kids use energy to get tired, hopefully 🤣.

Google
We are here for the brunch! So, all I can say is that….this spot definitely worth the drive! I had the stuffed Turkey Leg with Mac and Brisket! With a cup of Collard Greens! Oh, my goodness! They delivered on all fronts the food was outstanding and the atmosphere was great! Without a doubt this will be our regular spot when kids are in town! Bring an appetite! Great Job Team Preslee’s!!!

Google
The restaurant was a cozy vibe. The outdoor area/playground was nice, aside from us not being able to use it for long because of the rain. Service was alright. The food though, extremely salty, need to chug water immediately salty, and I'm someone who likes salt. I ordered the brisket burger and I wasn't a fan, like everything else it was very salty, and it honestly just tasted like a sloppy joe. I typically eat all of my food or take leftovers home, I didn't even do that. My boyfriends chicken fried steak was also oversalted, he didn't complain. He actually said it's the first chicken fried steak he's ever had that didn't need salt. The gravy was watery. The cook just really needs to go easy on the salt.

Google
I have been to Preslee’s for brunch and I can say there is a big difference between that and lunch/dinner. I ordered a brisket burger, macaroni and greens for lunch. The macaroni wasn’t that good and I found a green string in it. (No it’s not a vegetable). The greens are salty. The burger was very dry!! I called the restaurant and nobody picked up. So review it is.

Yelp
The food is excellent. Service could be friendlier and maybe a little bit more engaging but other than that it's a cool place.

Yelp
Update since my last review. We have added Preslees into our rotation of spots. I loved the loaded fries. The hot chicken sandwich has beyond enough chicken. Great portions. My favorite though is the summer salad with the blackened chicken. I loved it enough to literally try making it at home. It was so fresh and light. I cleaned the plate and made everyone want it. The sweet potato tots I would suggest asking for extra crispy if that is an option. Overall lately they have added more outdoor seating and replaced the play equipment. It is great for the family or groups. I only wish the outside tables weren't so low/ far from the seating.

Yelp
Someone finally came to our table and told us to order at the bar or register. It wasn't busy, so she could have just gotten our order. Chile came out cold, fries soggy. Chicken sandwich was good and after sending the chile back to be heated, it was good also. No one ever checked on us but 3 employees were busy talking to one customer sitting at the bar - never glanced our way. No greetings when we entered or left

Yelp
Service was moderately slow, the process of waiting in line was crowded. The restaurant felt like it did not have AC. The food was mediocre, truly nothing special. The salad dressing tasted like cheap bottled dressing, the leaves didn't taste fresh. The burger was the best thing! Fried chicken on salad and the chicken fried chicken was dry. There were sooo many kids there it almost felt like being at Chuck E. Cheese. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted with a racist sign that dehumanizes Black individuals by portraying them as animal-like. This imagery perpetuates offensive caricatures that have historically been used to justify discrimination and social marginalization. Weird decor choice IMO!

Yelp
I've been to Preslee's many times and what keeps me coming back is their Southern Comfort food and hospitality. From the perfectly crispy fried chicken to the creamy mac and cheese and buttery bread, every dish tastes homemade and packed with love. One of my all time favorites is their fried chicken sandwich. This sandwich is stuffed with not one but two pieces of fried chicken on a delicious bun. I get a side of ranch to go with it and it is just *chefs kiss* The staff is always welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. They have a large outdoor area for kids to play, huge green space with lots of seating and fans. It's the perfect place to chill on a Sunday afternoon with a cocktail in hand!

Yelp
This is an easy five star review. I remember when this used to be an old Chinese buffet back in the day. A good friend of mine invited me over to try it and when I looked at the pictures from some of the reviews, the wings looked exceptional. Food: as suspected, the wings were exceptional. They were fried to perfection and very crispy. I was blown away by the sauce flavor and the wing crunchiness. One of the best wings I've had in a very long time. Also the tater tots here are simply amazing. I was very happy with the food and I look forward to coming back to try different things off their menu. The customer service was excellent. Everyone that worked here was very friendly. I really enjoyed the outdoor seating. The breeze felt so good. I'll definitely come back here soon.

Yelp
Cool location. Caters to families. Really nice sitting area and play area outside for the kiddos. Food was okay. Standard American fare. Delicious lemonades & teas. Service was pretty good as well. I liked my chicken fried chicken and masked potatoes. The fried pickles were toooo salty and the mac n cheese was terrible...more like sticky, unseasoned macaronis with no cheese. Overall, not bad, but honestly no reason to return.

Valerie E.

Yelp
kid friendly! It was packed when I arrived on Sunday it was packed but like went fast and a wonderful Aaron gave wonderful service ! Will be back with my family soon

Yelp
Tried Preslee's today via LunchDrop which is a similar vibe to Uber Eats. Got "The Preslee's" smash burger and it was good not great. I liked the crust on the double patties. Nice melted cheese in each bite. The bacon jam pulled it all together. For the onion ring I wish it was a bit more cooked so it could use with the batter. One bite, the onion ring left its home. The pickles were not crunchy. Got the sweet potato tots on the side. Lacked a crunch as well. I'm sure it would have been better if I had it fresh at their restaurant. Other than that it's meh.

Yelp
We've made several trips in the past (the brisket grilled cheese is great) and the frozen drink selection is outstanding , but the Preslee's burger is utterly epic. Unfortunately, it disappeared too fast to get a picture.. The laid back atmosphere, friendly service and nostalgic decor just add to the ambience. This is our go-to place for hamburgers and drinks or just a to go a relax with friends.

Yelp
A friend and I went to Preslee's for dinner during the week a couple of weeks ago to catch up and try a place we had never been before. The parking was limited, but I was able to find a spot. Once inside, I realizes it is a place where you order at the counter and take your number to the table. I liked the atmosphere and that there was such a large outdoor area which is dog friendly (I brought my pup). The one thing I didn't love is how many children were unsupervised and creating a mess.. surprising for a week night. Without the kids (or just the mess they were creating), it would've been fantastic. There were not many staff members so it took awhile to order, but that wasn't a problem. Once at the front of the line, we ordered drinks, Loaded Fries, Summer Salad (the menu hasn't reflected the name change to Fall Salad/Winter Salad but its basically the same salad) and the house-made chili. When everything came out... it looked delicious and we couldn't wait to try the items but with each bite we were disappointed. Both of us agreed that the food looked better than it tasted. The food wasn't bad at all but was very much just OK. With all that said, I'd visit again on a weekend and see if it's different at all.

Catherine P.

Yelp
Used to be decent, but not good food anymore and bad management/owners. The staff are great, but I have seen kids wonder into the streets and some of their seating is falling apart.

Yelp
The burgers and fries here are so good! I got the chicken burger and it was STACKED. The fries were also made to perfection. I like the Texan themed atmosphere. I can't wait to go back again.

Yelp
Place is cool - probably fun to watch a game here. People who work there are very nice and provide lovely hospitality. Sadly, the food is hit and miss. They do give large portions. Could easily split meals. Went with a group of friends and none of us had a good meal. Some things about each meal were good - like French Fries. Mashed potatoes were inedible - a big lump of blah. Chicken was dry. One friend said her burger was fine - said the bun was good. Other friend didn't like her burger at all.

Yelp
My grilled chicken sandwich was the best chicken sandwich I have ever eaten .its pretty far away from where I live but was in area so I choose this place so glad I did . I will go there again Tender fresh and huge .

Yelp
We decided to enjoy a lovely brunch here since our niece and nephew were with us. It's a cute counter service spot, so we spent a little time waiting in line. Since it was a warm day, we chose to sit inside, but I have to say, the outdoor area looked inviting too, and there's a great space for kids to have some fun. It got a bit hectic trying to find a table after we got our food since it was really busy, but thankfully we managed to snag one! The atmosphere here is super laid-back, and while our meals came out at different times, it actually turned out fine. The portions were generous, and everything was delicious! My Cobb salad was definitely the star of the meal; it was incredibly tasty and could have easily been two meals. We all shared some yummy fried pickles, along with a seafood plate and a chicken fried chicken sandwich. Everyone was pleased with their food! I'd love to come back in the fall so the kids can really enjoy the outdoor space. It felt a little chaotic for our first visit since we weren't quite sure about the counter service process, but overall, it was a fun experience!

Yelp
To be honest came in here w high expectations. Was recommended by a friend and she rated 9/10 . I got the wings and my bf got the burger and it was the worse food I've had . The wings were so unflavored, it was like they were boiled before frying , I asked for well done and it was in fact barely done . The burger had no cheese , it was decent the fries were okay too small for my liking . Over all 2/10 Edit : couple hours passed and I feel sick , I barely ate any of the chicken like I mention it was barely cooked . I feel so sick I threw everything up :/

Yelp
We stopped by on Thursday early evening for dinner. There was plenty of parking around 6pm. Everything is decorated for Halloween right now which was cute, on top of there already charming decor. Ordering was quick and easy. There was decent amount of seating inside, and then a huge amount outside. All kinda is seating arrangements and seat-swings to pick form. Loved all the trellis areas with vines growing up them. Tvs outside too to watch sports. Saw a playground in the back for kids, along with a ping pong table in the middle of the outdoor space. Our dinner was brought out pretty quickly and it was a ton of good. The Buffalo chicken sandwich was good, and the fried okay. I'd love to come back on a game day with more friends or family in the future.

Joanna P.

Yelp
Garlic Mashed potatoes Great, Green beans & bacon delicious. The blackened Redfish-Ok... brisket MacNChse-Great. Drinks- expensive! bad -3 of them an 18% tip was more than meal at least $54Go for the foid. Not drinks.

Ilana P.

Yelp
Food = amazing Drinks = great Service = impeccable No doubt some of the best food we found in Houston. We always look for smaller family owned places when traveling and we were blown away with how good everything was. Bartenders are great!

Tammy W.

Yelp
Good food good service fun place for small kids to play. Love fish platters and the drinks! The staff always pleasant and helpful!

Yelp
I wanted so much to like this place. The pictures look so yummy. I wanted a burger so I just went for the classic regular old fashioned. It was a smash burger which I usually love. I couldn't finish it because it had no flavor. The onion rings were ok. Nice and crispy but again no seasoning. The Queso tasted good but the consistency was way too thick. The chicken fried chicken was good as well as the side of corn. Lacked service. Never received the gravy or ketchup we asked for. Probably won't go back.

Larisa G.

Yelp
Overpriced, overhyped place that provides cold, unseasoned meals with a side of awful service. If you want better but similar options with significantly better Southern food and service, check out Lucille's, State of Grace, Southern Yankee Crafthouse--really any place but here. Houston has too many options for this to be your top choice to eat.
google avatar

Pete G.

Yelp
Like some people have said. Food is nothing special. I ordered a burger and the seafood platter. Seafood platter didn't have much flavor to it. The burger was ok. Considering they are in a area that has many burger options. This is not the place for a burger. The drinks were ok.
google avatar

Ms Z.

Yelp
OMG. Love the Summer Salad ... now that it is crawfish season will be going back much more often. The crawfish is flavored just right.
google avatar

Cynthia V.

Yelp
Came in for lunch on a Friday and was easily able to get a table inside (thanks crappy weather), They have some great lunch specials, including their classic smash burger, fries, and a soda for $11. The burger was great, crispy exterior you expect from a smash burger, just the right amount of toppings and burger sauce, all nestled within a soft potato bun. Fries were perfectly cooked as well. Counter service, but the staff comes around to ensure everything is good and enjoyable; they were all quite friendly.
google avatar

Amy C.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic if you have kiddos. My grandson had a blast! We didn't dine here but the food looked awesome. We will be back to try it out!!
google avatar

Jaime G.

Yelp
I had a great experience, good food, nice bartender. I tried the Classic Smash Burger for the first time with cheese and extra onions. My friend had wings and a Frito Pie. I'd definitely go back. Big indoor seeing and seating outside.
google avatar

Vanessa T.

Yelp
I loved everything about this place. Authentic Southern home cooking and kid friendly. Beautiful outdoor seating on swings and benches, I ordered the chicken fried chicken with garlic mashed potatoes and Mac n cheese. My boyfriend had the wonderful Buffalo chicken sandwich with fries. I think they placed the whole chicken between buns. Putting food not disappoint. I'm bringing the whole family next time.
google avatar

Anissa A.

Yelp
The service could have been a bit friendlier. We walked in from the side and sat awkwardly for a few mins than stood at a the bar with no service. Finally realized you have to walk to another side of the restaurant to order. But if you order from that counter, you have to get your alcohol ordered at the bar. It was a very odd start but the food was yummy. There was group playing games. Not sure if they brought their own or if the restaurant provides them. But this is definitely a great atmosphere. My date recommends the brisket grilled cheese. The chicken pot was 7/10
google avatar

Shatoyia N.

Yelp
This food is always delicious! They have an outdoor playground for the kiddos and a patio. The service is always great as well.

Ruth C.

Yelp
Food was amazing. First time here and will return. We shared the chicken fried chicken and frito pie. Excellent... Food came out promptly and hot. Impressed Staff was very friendly

Yelp
What a just ok. Below ok place this is... do your self a favor and pass .. nice greeting from the manager with the lip piercing,,, a 50 year old should not have a a middle of face lip piercing... food below average frozen food,, bad fast food.. great atmosphere.. but Jesus Christ on a roller coaster couldn't save this place... just average!

Yelp
Preslee's was on the list for Eat. Drink. HTX 2023 benefitting the Houston Food Bank and Children At Risk. So naturally, I invited my peds friends/former coworker - pediatrician and pediatric nurse. Plus, I'm a sucker for any place that has CFC (chicken fried chicken for those not in the know). Had to try it. There's a good amount of parking for being on 19th street or anywhere in the Heights, really. I enjoyed their wrap around patio area with an abundance and variety of seating and swings. It's also dog friendly and perfect for parents with young children who need a drink and wanna get out. There's a playground towards the back. There's a few TVs scattered around outside but more inside. It could be a potential place to watch a sports game, but it would be difficult to see if you're not seated close enough to one. The line to order at the counter was long, so we got to order food and drink at the bar. I opted for the Eat. Drink. HTX choice with fried pickles and CFC with mashed potatoes and creamed corn. My food was the last to come out, and the pickles and CFC came out at the same time. The pickles weren't bad dipped in ranch. Breading was decent. The CFC was huge but salty and a bit dry. The mashed potatoes seemed from scratch but had too much parsley on the top, as well as the white gravy. I liked my friend's sweet potato tots. Pretty straightforward. The brisket mac and cheese was better without the brisket. I think it could've been better without bbq sauce added because it overpowered the cheesy pasta. The mac and cheese alone was good. The strawberry dragonfruit and mango juice drinks were refreshing! There are multiple alcoholic slushies to choose from. I'd come back to try a frozen bev, apps, and patio seating on a good weather day.
google avatar

Guillermo G.

Yelp
One because you HAVE to give something. Nice place. Good atmosphere. Service is friendly. Food is TRASH. Ordered the Pot Pie, Texas Trio, Chicken Fried Steak and Seafood platter. Only thing that came hot was the undercooked pot pie. Everything else was luke warm at best. If you just want to drink...okay. eat? Don't waste your time or money. Go down the street and get a cheeseateak at Papa Geno's.

Yelp
Last Saturday turned out to be such a pretty day that I was trying to find a restaurant within good food and a nice patio, but I got distracted with a few chores and a nap. Later that afternoon I received a phone call and someone mentioned they were heading to Preslee's. I immediately went to Yelp and noticed the ratings. After that, I told them I will meet you there. It was an awarding experience. There are a few things on the menu that I want to try on my next visits, but I started with the Seafood Platter for my first visit. It was a pretty decent platter and I would get it again. A few additional things I'd like to highlight: Parking might be an issue but there's street parking all around. They have all day happy hour during the week The patio seating is where it is. The patio is large with a few seating options: swings, hammocks, and tables with fire pits.... Dog friendly environment Great Customer Service If you looking for a nice place to eat and hang out on a sunny day in the Heights, check out Preslee's.

John O.

Yelp
A friend recommended this place and I was excited to go. The food was as expected. Good bar food. The atmosphere was fun with the tables with swings and outdoor televisions showing the game. So the problem was one particular bar tender who was extremely rude. I asked what wine they had and his dismissive response was, "red and white". (The place was not particularly busy) but after my question he completely ignored me and did what I would call selective service. I recommend to the owners to hire some secret shoppers and find out exactly what is happening. I won't go back.
google avatar

Gina C.

Yelp
Love Preslee's! It is an order at the counter and seat yourself spot. I always like to come if it's nice weather because they have a killer patio space! Swinging chairs, ping pong, lights, etc. They have HH Tues-Fri 3-6 ($2 off frozens, $1 off drafts). My only complaint is I wish they have a bit better of a happy hour and the food is a little pricey for the casual vibe. My favorite menu items are the chicken fried steak and fried pickles (seriously, some of the best fried picked in Houston!). Great spot to take friends and family visiting from out of town!
google avatar

Yesica S.

Yelp
So first off, the outside decor immediately drew me in. I love the whole theme/decor of this place. This place is also kid and dog friendly, they have a spacious outdoor area for them. So going in, they introduce you to a huge menu of various foods, afterwards you order at the counter. I ordered the lemon pepper wings and my friend ordered shrimp with grits. LET ME TELL YOU! The meat fell off the bone on the wings and oh my goodness the ranch with the wings and fries were mmmm chefs kiss. I dipped my spoon in my friends grits and stole a shrimp and oh my goodness it like this plate was heaven sent. The new drinks were also tasty and strong, one think I would like to say is that the grits were okay, and the lemon pepper seasoning was a little too salty. But all in all, I will come here again!
google avatar

Tracey L.

Yelp
Preslee's was great all the way around! The food, the service, and the atmosphere were the greatest for adults and children! My ten-year-old niece saw this fun, colorful place somewhere on social media and wanted to come. We got there in no time, and parking was easy peasy, considering it's a small lot. But people, there is so much street parking all around the building. This place really packed a punch with the food. We ordered a lot of food, and every dish was delicious, hands down. The entertainment for the children was unmatched by any place I've been to. There's a park for children here with swings. There are swings for grown-ups to sit and eat their food. There's a Fred Flintstone car and a Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Statue! In the front by the door, there's an ice cream area, and we all got ice cream on our way out. Also, my nephew, who's seven, got the red velvet cake, and after several bites of his, I got a cake too. I got the chocolate one. And also too this is a great Sunday Funday place with friends, and also with couples who just want to relax and enjoy a great place with good people. This will always be on my list for myself and when my little ones come to visit.
google avatar

Chrissy P.

Yelp
The service was good, but the food really was not what people hype it to be.. everything lacked seasoning and after we left we went to find something else to eat.. not saying don't go, go! Because you might like it.. if you can't find parking in the parking lot because it is limited, be prepared to park on the side of the street.
google avatar

Sherman B.

Yelp
A big crowd and almost none of the outside fans were operating. The service was atrocious slow, so your food was cold when you finally got it.
google avatar

Linda T.

Yelp
Great food and very reasonable lunch which includes your drink. Be sure to try the lunch Chicken Fried chicken with Mashed Potatoes and cream corn. Yummy!!
google avatar

James Z.

Yelp
This was our first time here. Probably should've went earlier in the day or when it was warmer weather. They did have a bunch of propane fires all around though. Playground, ping pong, and old grocery store rides were cool to see. Swings all over the place for eating and hanging out. Very unique. Food was pretty good and came out really fast. All the staff was super nice. Can't wait to go back when it's warmer to try something else on the menu. Definitely try the brisket grilled cheese.
google avatar

Christine C.

Yelp
My husband, son, and I had dinner at Preslee's. The location is great, the staff are good and the food is awesome! You can also dine outside where they have a little kids playground --eat and watch your kids kinda thing. I had to omit one star since the air conditioning was not too cool at the dining area. This mama has to feel comfortable while eating too.
google avatar

Sophie N.

Yelp
The fries were too greasy for my liking and the chicken strips were on the dry side. I would have liked the strips to be more crispy, like fried chicken crispy, or have that crunch to them. The salad was good - always appreciate fresh salad with good dressing. We came here hoping for a lively setting given the pics showing all the outdoor seating but guess we picked a quieter night. There wasn't anything remarkable about our visit. It was okay.
google avatar

Scott L.

Yelp
Really love this place! GREAT bowl of gumbo! Onion Rings with fantastic crunchy coating, pickle chips without greasiness, wonderful music, outdoor swings for seating! Playground for kids!
google avatar

Kayla E.

Yelp
This place is CUTEEEE! Plenty, plenty, plenty of outdoor seating, less indoor seating but it didn't matter to us we were looking for patio seating anyhow. The food was DELICIOUS!! Definitely check this place out!! The swings at the tables were so fun!

Yelp
Quick Review Any place that gives a cool concept automatically gets cool points in my book. Preslee's concept, bar drinks, and successful take on southern classics make it a go-to Houston spot. With the fall right around the corner and their sizeable outdoor seating options, it makes for day drinking and weekend outing hot spots. Full Review Preslee's curates a vintage, southern eatery that honestly gives a "cool concept diner." From its life-sized Marilyn Monroe statue to the ice creamery that greets you upon entry, they set the stage for a memorable dining experience. Upon entry, I wasn't sure if I should seat myself or wait for a host, but I did enjoy being greeted by the vintage artwork and snapshot-worthy Houston sign. Turns out, your seat yourself. Explore the enormous glowing menu and once you've decided, order at the counter and take a number. There wasn't a line for me, but I'd imagined it would move quite quickly if there was. Preslee's has a wide range of options, but for my vegetarians/vegans, this may be one you want to sit out as there aren't too many options aside from side items or smaller plates. I'd recommend the skillet Mac and cheese, a classic comfort dish taste. I wouldn't say it's the most spectacular, but it has the taste and presentation to satisfy. For those who indulge, I recommend adding the brisket. The brisket is juicy, flavorful, and topped with a quality bbq sauce. For my pescatarians, no worries, there are tons of seafood options. The fried baskets had that deep-fried, crispy vibe with a decent amount of flavor for restaurant food. The breading for the shrimp had an interesting taste; I wouldn't say it wasn't good, but it gave me a crispy style panko vibe, which I wasn't a fan of. The shoe strings fries add to the meal with their crispy, sweet and salty taste. I'd recommend the bbq burger for those who love a good burger. Double meat with American cheese, topped with onion rings and bbq sauce. The onion rings needed to be cooked longer, and a bit more flavor added, but the sauce from the brisket helped save them. Preslee's has the mechanics for a quality burger with a unique flair. I will say it is pretty large, so definitely eat in pieces. For my lovers of libations, Preslee's is a place you should add to their day drink list. From an array of frozen cocktails (I'd recommend the sangria and Jack and coke) to an extensive collection of liquors, it's a place to find something you can enjoy for a reasonable price. They have all-day happy hours Sunday/Monday and the classic 3-6 PM throughout the week that offers excellent deals. As for service, the staff was friendly and efficient. It took a while to get our food, but great drinks, service from bar staff, and top 40issh music helped ease the time. Some improvement with the parking lot/ traffic flow is something Preslees should consider. It's challenging to navigate the unorganized mase parking spaces, especially in a full lot. While the parking lot has many attractions for classic pictures (vintage cars), customers entering the busy main street and taking photos with the vintage cars will likely make contact. Also, while the trough toilet in the men's bathroom is a great take on traditional public bathrooms, it's definitely something that makes the bathroom experience unpleasant for some patrons.
