Google
Press 626 exceeded my expectations! 5 stars on atmosphere, food, and service. If you like dark academia aesthetics and interior design style, this restaurant is a MUST. The wine options are extensive with a great somm and knowledgeable staff. Esteban was a sociable and attentive server who made the experience pleasurable. The food should not be overlooked! A diverse and perfected menu with lots of options for dietary restrictions. The roasted brussel sprout and beet dish was phenomenal- a culinary and flavor pallet masterpiece. The most memorable course of the meal, dessert. I had the black Thai tea crème brûlée, and WHOA. Truly a fine and unique dessert! Also, look how beautiful the restaurant is from the outside, the interior is just as amazing. The lighting is exquisite, and it feels like you’re in an upscale dining room for a fabulous Thanksgiving. A great date night location! I will be back!

Best grilled cheese sandwich I have ever had in 45 years - with duck ! Absolutely delicious food served fast with a great smile

Google
Great food and service, good deals for Happy Hour and Tapas Tuesday. Duck confit spring rolls are a must-try on this menu, perfectly savory and crispy, with incredible spicy hoisin aioli. Baked goat cheese very nice as well. Pa-tot-as Bravas a fun and huge portion, topped with flavorful sambal salsa brava and garlic aioli. Vegetable curry puffs have a great texture and complementary cilantro lime ranch sauce. Shishito peppers and cheap dates very good as well, with expectedly delicious garlic aioli and blue cheese sauce, respectively. Window Seat and Pink Pony Club cocktails are both commendable, with the Pony Club being perfectly balanced while the Window seat was a bit strong for our liking. Red Wine Sangria very nice, very triple sec forward. Pork & scallion dumplings are another must-try, incredibly dense and flavorful dumplings in superb black vinegar and chili oil sauce. Lamb meatballs very nice as well, very lamby in very fresh-tasting house marinara and pesto sauce. Chocolate five spice pot de creme is a must-try for dessert! Seasonal creme brûlée, Thai tea, unique and expertly executed as well.

What a wonderful and delightful experience. Came here for Happy Hour for my birthday and was not disappointed. The flavors of everything we ate made my eyes roll into the back of my head. Absolutely delicious. Drink options for everyone and the wine list is impeccable. I will definitely be coming back again.

Met a friend for lunch and cocktails. Stayed till dinner because we were having such a great time. We had a smattering of small plates including the dumplings which were absolutely out of this world, The cheap dates, and the caprese were lovely. The food here is always absolutely top-notch. The menu changes fairly regularly and features beautiful fusion cuisine. The real star of the show, however are the cocktails and the bartenders serving them. The service is unparalleled. I tend to prefer to sit at the bar cuz I get to spend time with the bartenders and watching them work is like watching an artist paint. They have everything needed on hand for craft cocktails and they do a superlative number of fresh ingredients, syrups, and infusions. The stars of the show tonight were the sidecars and the Pink pony club specialty cocktail. Shout out to our bartender Esteban, who absolutely made our afternoon delicious and absolutely fabulous. The food in the drinks are unparalleled in the 757 but we also have to consider the the atmosphere at Press 626. The atmosphere is intimate while also remaining bright and open. Again, I prefer to sit at the bar when I'm here because I love watching the mixologists work. The restaurant is small enough that you feel like you have a good working relationship with the service staff. However, there are separate and smaller seating areas that allow for a group to have a more private experience if needed and desired. Press 626 remains one of my absolute favorite go-to's for a nice bite and drink or if I'm trying to show off for a date.

Google
A regular stop for excellent wine and good food. Located next to the hospital (Sentara and CHKD), it is small and intimate. They do have an upstairs for small parties (book in advance). John is an excellent bartender with years of service industry and a great knowledge of wine. Tip: 1. The duck confit sandwich is delicious but I reccomend getting the fig jam on the side as it can make it too sweet if too much is added. 2. Wine prices are a bit steep but they have a good happy hour.

Google
The NYE event was definitely way oversold. We had 6pm reservations and didn’t leave until 930. The food was pretty good and the cocktails made by Betty were fantastic but unfortunately that can’t make up for the abysmal wait times between courses as food service was EXTREMELY slow (no fault of the servers). We got our paired wines literally an hour before the main entree even arrived at the table so we had no wine to drink by the time the food arrived. Organization seemed very disorganized and the droves of people waiting outside cemented that. Auto gratuity at the end with no offer to comp anything also left my group with a taste of a mediocre and long drawn out experience to start our night

Google
Really nice little place. Food was exceptional and freshly made. Service was top notch and with a smile, explaining all options open to us well. Prices are very reasonable and the setting I'd say was cosy and chic. Good amount of parking outside however they can't control how their customers park.

Yelp
We had such a lovely experience here for both happy hour, tapas Tuesday, and our date night! We made a reservation for a table but ended up just staying at the bar because it was cozy and the bartender was personable, attentive, and friendly. We came during their happy hour which is TUES-FRI 4-6PM when they offer $6 glasses of wine. Tapas Tuesday was also going on which had discounts on their cheese plates & appetizers. Their rose wine by the glass was very good - it was a French rose and had good flavor. For food we tried 5 items: * House made Jalepeno pimento cheese dip * Basket of Rosemary French fries with homemade ranch * Pork & Scallion Dumplings * Miso Glazed Salmon. * Seasonal Thai tea creme brûlée (DESSERT) Seriously when I say that EVERYTHING we ordered was absolutely delicious I mean it. We cleaned every single plate. Highly recommend coming here and checking out not only their wine selection and lovely bar but their food! I can't imagine you can go wrong with any of their menu items because out of 5 things we loved every single one! PRO TIP: they have a small parking lot behind the building for customers! Also a small patio on the front porch with 3 bistro style tables. (Well behaved) Dogs are allowed on the patio!

Yelp
I had a GREAT time at 626 Wine Bar! It's been on my list since we moved here two years ago. We came with another couple and made it a double date night :) FOOD: Gosh we ordered SO MANY things. The night we came they had run out of a few things on the menu - idk if that's normal or not - so our choices were a bit slim. We decided just to order several small plates and share it all. The LAMB MEATBALLS were exquisite and juicy. The WARM BEETS & BRUSSELS were surprisingly yummy. I've never had that combination before, but the toasted almonds and the spicy coconut cream really brought the flavors together so well. The CHEAP DATES are wrapped in bacon and placed over blue cheese sauce - I'm not the biggest fan of bacon, so I just took a bite, and the flavors worked well together; I'd never think to wrap a date in bacon. The JUMBO FRIED SHRIMP was one of my favorite dishes, mainly because the breading wasn't thick and crusty like most places. SERVICE: Our server was friendly and suggested many things! The food came out promptly - no complaints there. ATMOSPHERE: Intimate and romantic (if you want it to be). The first floor was all booked up, so they offered to sit us upstairs, which was a great choice. It's quieter upstairs, but that was totally fine for us because we didn't have to scream at each other when we talked. Downstairs is a lot louder. Will I return? Yeah, it is a sweet date night spot. And it's a great place to take out-of-town folks.

Yelp
I went here for the first time in a long time, and I was a little nervous as my dietary habits have changed. But, it was a nice experience! The service and food were great! The wine is always good of course! I started with Parmesan truffle tater tots. The shrimp and grits had more oil than I'm used to, but I was able to eat and enjoy it. The pumpkin crème brûlée was delicious! They have outdoor and indoor seating so you have options. The atmosphere is so welcoming.

Yelp
Food was very tasty and service was good. Will definitely return. Good location off Colley Ave. Douglas Finney

Yelp
I've been here once and the cheesecake I had from them was mid for how seriously over priced it was, I also live next door to them and their customers park in our reserved parking for our apartment complex all the time but they towed my car for being "illegally parked in their parking lot" and "blocking an entrance" which was just plain incorrect as where I was parked is not an entrance or exit to either the wine bar or the apartment complex, not to mention I've parked there many times before when their customers have overfilled our reserved parking and experienced no issues, On top of that their customers parallel park in the actual entrance/exit to their establishment on the regular without repercussion. There's nicer places in Norfolk with better parking situations

Yelp
Brought my co-workers for a work lunch and I had highly recommended Press and everyone was happy with the options and food. I had the burger and ordered it medium rare and it shop well done which is very disappointing. A friend had the salmon BLt because I recommended and they enjoyed it. All in all a good option for lunch but keep in mind their size and make a rez or show up early.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots in Norfolk/Ghent area. This is a pure wine bar with amazing food & hospitality. No matter how often I visit, I receive 5 star treatment from staff w/ food/drinks to match. Happy hour is Mon-Sat, 4-6pm. They have bar seating, about 10 spots with good amount of seating inside with a few options right outside on the porch. It's a huge white building on the corner, across from the hospital. ALSO, it's a VIBE when you get in here! The music is on point - when I was here recently, they played SZA's entire album. My go to is the Cheap Date, it comes on a bed of blue cheese (mind you, I don't care for blue cheese) and I was surprised how everything paired. The sweetness of the dates, the Smokey bacon, and the sour taste of blue cheese married well. Wine choices are immense & the staff are incredibly knowledgeable of the wine menu. Ask what wine pairs with whichever dish and you won't be disappointed. The burger is great - no complaints. The duck grilled cheese is award winning but it wasn't my favorite. All seafood I've had here is done right. My new favorite is the gnocchi w/ shrimp. Special shoutout to the bartender w/ red hair + right arm sleeve (Betty, thank you for the great recommendations) & to the GM (John, thank you so much for making me feel at home); they're energy make me want to come back time & time again. If you're thinking about coming.. stop thinking. Just get here and you'll thank me for persuading you.

Yelp
What an awesome place! Great food and wine. Excellent service, too! There's even parking onsite. I love the eclectic but chic ambiance. There were lots of small plate options that looked amazing. We had two, the fried Mac and cheese and the patatas bravas. There were also sandwiches and entrees that looked amazing. The toughest part will be what do we choose?!?! Highly recommend!

Steve G.

Yelp
My favorite place in Norfolk because it offers nice ambiance, fair prices on wine and good food. I've never had a bad entree there and love the charcuterie board. Reservations strongly recommended.

Daijlinn P.

Yelp
I went to press for my birthday and was gifted a special off the menu, Gin based drink by the AMAZING Esteban! Esteban was beyond knowledgeable about flavors and combinations and made my entire experience a 100/10! I ordered the Duck Spring rolls as well (they did not make it to the photoshoot), suggested by Esteban as well, my absolute favorite item on the menu! I cannot wait to revisit this amazing wine bar to continue to receive the absolute best service you can get in the city of Norfolk from Esteban! Him alone is worth visiting!

Ruby S.

Yelp
We squeaked in just in time for a couple happy hour orders! We enjoyed both the dumplings and meatballs from the small plates menu. Then ordered sandwiches for dinner. The food was great & service was nice. The ambience was amazing, we sat by these big bay windows & it was perfect. The food was great! The other entrees look amazing as well but we're significantly more money, so we stuck with the sandwiches and we're happy! Definitely a great date night or happy hour spot!

Shilisa D.

Yelp
I have patronized this place a couple of times. The service at the bar and dining area is good. The servers were attentive. The salmon and salad is really good and tasty.

Breyona A.

Yelp
This spot is so cute and intimate, perfect for a date night or girls night out. They have a hugee book full of different wine options. So many to choose from varying from white wines to red and dark wines. They also have a happy hour menu with a few bite size selections and hand crafter cocktails. I decided to get a chacturie board and a sangria. The sangria was really good. The chacaturie board was good as well. The service here was really great! I felt welcomed and our server was attentive and helped narrow our selections down to what the customers favorites our.

Emily B.

Yelp
Press 626 is THE spot for date night, girls' night out, or just those intimate moments where you want everything to feel special. The vibe is cozy and laid-back, it's the perfect setting to unwind and connect. Oh, and whatever you do, get the sangria.

Julianne A.

Yelp
Press 626 is a warm, welcoming, cozy spot that boasts good food and friendly, efficient service. The menu isn't huge, but all the dishes on it are tasty and well-prepared. It's a delightful place to spend an evening, especially with friends :-) Tip: Happy Hour here is Monday thru Friday from 4pm to 6pm During HH, you'll have the opportunity to try different drinks and food at discount prices. For example, on my last visit they were offering $4 well drinks (house tequila, vodka, gin, rum, or bourbon) and/or $15 wine flights.; these flights are your choice of red or white wine selected by the bartender, with no substitutions available. They've also got $6 small plates, including a basket of fries or tater tots, a dish called "Cheap Dates" (bacon wrapped dates over blue cheese sauce), and another called "Charred Edamame" (sautéed soy beans in sesame soy glaze) My friend and I have visited Press 626 several times recently, and each time we've tried out a different menu selection to share. Last time with went the their "Award-Winning Grilled Cheese"; it's made with Four kinds of cheeses (pepper jack, cheddar, Swiss, and goat cheese on grilled sourdough with your choice of either parmesan fries or parmesan tots. I'm not sure what awards the sandwich has actually won, but it's completely Legit in my book, and completely delicious! Two visits ago, our menu selection was their Fresh Mozzarella (homemade mozzarella, NC hothouse tomatoes, fresh pesto, olives, basil, oil & balsamic, prepared with either Traditional or Fried Mozzarella. This dish will sneak up on you, and before you know it you'll have eaten the whole thing and be ready to order another ;-) Thus far we've enjoyed several visits here, and I look forward to coming back regularly to enjoy their HH and sample more of their menu selections.

Yelp
My family and I went here for my birthday lunch and it was incredible! I loved the homey cozy feel and the decorations. Each person we interacted with were super friendly and made us feel special. One person made conversation and even let us know about some upcoming special events. All of the food was delicious! Each one of us picked an appetizer to share and were not disappointed. I could tell each dish had a lot of thought put into it. My favorite was the "cheap date" which were bacon wrapped dates. The last time I had something similar was during a recent trip to Arizona, so now I know where to go when I'm craving it. For my entree, I ordered the Press Burger paired with the tots and it was yummy. I also loved my Pomegranate Sage spritzer. The fresh Sage was a great touch. For all of the food we ordered and how special everything was, we were surprised with how reasonable the check was. I can't wait to come back!

Junavy F.

Yelp
A classy, well-decorated restaurant perfect for an intimate date night or celebratory dinner with friends!! The service is phenomenal and the hosts/hostesses were super friendly. I came here with a group of 7 people for a surprise birthday for one of our friends. I called ahead about storing an ice cream cake and they were so accommodating about it. Fun fact: they have a cake cutting fee of $2 per person. It was well worth the surprise - the perfect touch to the end of the dinner. But I wouldn't dare end there...the dinner itself was perfection. They had an elaborate cocktail menu, a vast selection of wines, and a short but diverse seasonal menu for food. Every single person at the table loved what they ordered (I personally ordered the scallops & they were *chef's kiss*). We all ended up with clean plates and a few empty bottles of wine at the table. Prices on the menu are reflective of the quality (an entree is anywhere from $25-50). But trust me when I say it is absolutely worth it. Can't wait until the next time I go here!

Michelle A.

Yelp
Very cute establishment. Food is great! We especially liked the duck confit spring rolls. We sat outside and our waitress seemed uninterested from the beginning. We ordered a bottle of wine. I asked for a recommendation on a Cabernet - I asked for "heavy in body and fruit forward." She gave us two options. We chose the more expensive one as it was "very popular." My friend did the first tasting and approved the wine, truthfully the wine was not heavy in body at all. I was disappointed with the high price point, and inaccurate recommendation by our server. The GM, John, was a delight! He picked up where the server lacked and attended to our table when she had dropped the ball. His jovial, professional personality, paired with the delicious food will have me coming back. 4 stars only for the inaccurate wine recommendation, that derailed the experience for me. Kudos for John, ambience, food, and expansive wine and food menu.

Ravyn P.

Yelp
Wonderful atmosphere, delicious food and drinks, good staff. I will plan to visit again.

Thiane G.

Yelp
I came in for a solo lunch on a weekday. The restaurant was quiet since it was a Thursday afternoon. I chose to order the lunch sandwich combo and opted for the duck breast grilled cheese. This is my second time having this and it NEVER disappoints. Highly recommend it to anyone who visits. I was so hungry by the time it came to the table that I forgot to take a picture of it . I dove right in. And the truffle fries were nice and crispy. For dessert I tried the bread pudding and it was so lovely. Cooked perfectly and just the right amount of sweetness. I didn't catch my waiter's name but he was friendly and accommodating when I asked to be seated in a different part of the restaurant. My first visit at Press was with a large group and they were amazing then too. Can't wait to come back!

Ashley-Marie K.

Yelp
I would rate this cute wine bar on Granby Street 3 out of 5 stars. The environment is gorgeous with a comfortable, intimate feel, and the staff are very friendly. However, the little appetizers were just okay. I was hoping for something that would pair well. They didn't particularly enhance or detract from the overall experience.

J David H.

Yelp
After several visits over the years I had the opportunity to meet friends and enjoy their new patio added over the Summer. It's probably been four years since my last visit. Although this experience was for drinks it was strong! Previous experiences have been for lunch and enjoyable all around. Great wine, affordable prices, cool city ambiance and service was friendly for several rounds of wine. Off street parking can be a bit challenging, but do not let that deter you. 4+

Timothy K.

Yelp
Esteban was the best! He took us on an adventure through the wine regions of Italy, Spain and France. I would definitely ask him to help you decide on what try to expand your palette. The food was just as impressive. Highly recommend!

Holly V.

Yelp
First time trying out this place on our GNO. Love the ambiance of the place. We were seated in little room by the window and it was nice. Our food was delicious and our server was great !!

Emily S.

Yelp
Always amazing! This is one of my favorite restaurants. The cocktails are unique and innovative. The service is always amazing. This place is perfect for special occasions or dates. Definitely a good time just having a cocktail at the bar though. Lovely place!

Jordan B.

Yelp
In the heart of Ghent sits Press 626, home of the best-grilled cheese sandwich in Hampton Roads (and that is no shade). I've been hearing about their grilled cheese for years, and I'm kicking myself for not having tried it before this year. Whew, let me tell y'all about this grilled cheese sandwich. Four kinds of cheeses (pepper jack, cheddar, Swiss, and goat cheese) on grilled sourdough with your choice of either parmesan fries or parmesan tots. I added bacon and avocado to mine with a side of their spicy aioli and it was heaven. Their grilled cheese was so good I had to have it twice in the same week. The wait staff are all super friendly and accommodating and even the owner, Lindsay came out to see how my friend and I were doing, which was really nice. If you find yourself in Hampton Roads (Coastal Virginia), please do yourself a favor and get your hands on one of their grilled cheeses (and hell, even a glass of wine.)

Mansi B.

Yelp
We've lived down the street for 2 years and finally came! What a cute spot. Came on a Saturday afternoon for brunch, no wait and were seated immediately! We got french press tea (vanilla chai which was tasty) and the lunch special of Spanakopita grilled cheese and a salad. Everything was good, super vegetarian friendly! Just a note that if you just want like a cup of coffee, they don't do that. You have to get a french press which is like 4-5 cups.

Preston S.

Yelp
Press 626 is by far my favorite location to have a special dinner. I've been to a few of their private events and dinners and just WOW! Their service is amazing and they are very hospitable. I love the vibe inside and everyone always seems so upbeat and friendly. This particular review is for the Miso Dinner night they just had, it was absolutely stunning and the wines they paired with the courses were spectacular. HIGHLY recommend stopping here if you're just in the area for vacation or visiting. If you're local I'd suggest jumping on their private events. Very good spot! *All photos are from an event, not regularly served at location*

Craig S.

Yelp
I have been to this restaurant many times in the past and it was a favorite. Unfortunately, I am now in a wheelchair and they cannot accommodate me. They tell me their lift is not working. They told me the same thing almost a year ago. It's a good restaurant, but they have no interest in your business if you are unable to climb steps.

Adrian S.

Yelp
As many times I have passed this establishment, I never considered to go in and try. Never judge a book by its cover applies for this situation haha. The atmosphere on the inside is intimate, and a place to go with relaxing music, good bites and exceptional drink options. I'm a sucker for lavender, so I ordered an iced lavender tea and it was everything I hoped. The menu options are were great and I had a hard time deciding on what to get. I finalized my decision on the Cuban sandwich with a side of fries. The sandwich was top tier; not too messy, but very fulfilling. The fries were some of the best I've had in a while. The seasoning was just right, I wish I'd ordered more! Press does offer outside seating, so if it's a nice day/night out you have that option. During my visit there seemed to be a crazy amount of flies, so next time I will stick to the inside dining. The staff was awesome, super kind and I can't wait to come back!

Christian E.

Yelp
Fanceh living , here we comeeee 626 is a staple for the Ghent/ EVMS / CHKD/ hospital community. I mean it's like....right there. Good airy windowy vibes. Got the crab cakes and they do not disappoint. Not only do they have a large wine selection, but their cocktails are simply refreshing. I enjoyed my time at the bar just chilling with my apps and sandwiches. There's parking in the back, just a FYI.

Penelope J. L.

Yelp
Classy, cozy restaurant with ample bar space, an extensive wine selection, and parking. Betty at the bar was attentive and courteous. Definitely a place I will return to.

Nancy H.

Yelp
Press 626 is now unofficially voted the cutest wine bar in Hampton Roads, by me, an unofficial expert. I came this past week, on a Thursday afternoon to enjoy their happy hour menu. When we walked in, the restaurant was close to empty, however it filled up very quickly as we enjoyed our time. They did a fantastic job with decor, ambience and presentation. Each room is adorable, especially their upstairs lounge/seating area. I also immediately noticed how friendly each staff member was. They all go above and beyond to make you feel welcome.. almost as if you are their specific guest. On to drinks; I tried their white wine flight, which was $15 during happy hour. I love a good wine flight, so enjoyed this.. but did feel that the chosen wines were far too close in dimension. There wasn't a whole lot of variation. I also felt that the printed paper was a bit tacky in a place this nice... a place created around wine. I would say that a better presentation of the flights would be incredible. My friend got the Press Punch. It was good. I like that they rotate the option and would be excited to try it again next time. Food; everything was great. Surprisingly, the charred edamame was my favorite thing that we ordered. Only $6, but a great portion and super flavorful. I also got the "wine poached shrimp"... not impressed. The menu description makes it sound like an exciting, unique option... but it was just basic shrimp cocktail. I even asked the server about it and she described it as warm, which made me expect something much different. The lamb meatballs however... delicious! I definitely want to come back again and experience a full dinner!

Rachel E.

Yelp
Solo date at Press 626 Wine Bar. Hidden gem in Norfolk Downtown. Craft cocktails and amazing food. Fresh "Non-alcoholic Cucumber Mint Fresh Squeezed Spritzer", "Australian Lamb Chops" were absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly, gluten free and the miso tahini hummus with mint chimichurri that came with it was so tasty and of course I had to try their vegan "Mezze Cheese Board", as a cheese lover is mandatory! Press 626 was amazing, great atmosphere, outstanding costumer service, my bartender Betti was super nice and welcoming. This place is very casual for a fancy place. Definitely recommend if you pass through Norfolk, I personally loved it.

Cameron T.

Yelp
this place is exquisite! my husband and i went here last week for a date night and had such a wonderful experience. the ambiance is top tier: the warm lighting, gorgeous patio, and outdoor lighting. this place is so nice and the staff is wonderful -- they made our date night so perfect :) Vida was our server and John found a way for us to have a table outside despite us not knowing we may needed a reservation. the busser and other restaurant staff was also so kind. the chefs are also wonderful. 10/10, you get all your moneys worth.

Jeannine C.

Yelp
Cute and cozy aesthetic wise with great friendly staff! Betty the bartender was so attentive and made excellent drinks. All of the patrons that came in while I was there knew pretty much all the staff members and called them by name so that tells me this place does retain there staff and there's no high turnover. They have seating inside and outside but its best to make a reservation or you'll only get a seat at the bar which was my dilemma. I would like to try dining here at night because I noticed the fairy lights. Given the location and the décor, I'm sure its a whole vibe at night. I felt like a light bite to eat with a mimosa or two for lunch so I decided to go with the charcuterie board that comes with 5 items meat/cheese of your choice which was priced at $28. It was good however, it was very basic to me. I feel like there are so many other elaborate created charcuterie boards out there for the same price so I wasn't really impressed with that. Overall my experience was great and I will return to try something different this time in order to give my full opinion on the food.

Eric S.

Yelp
Didn't have any food but we enjoyed a nice bottle of wine and had fun interacting with the bartender and other patrons at the bar. Would've been nice to sit outdoors but the humidity was insane.

Vince S.

Yelp
Great place for a glass of wine or dinner. Even better if you sign up for their special events.

Quin B.

Yelp
Delicious. I love this cute little establishment. Love everything about it. The food, the ambience, the location. I just adore it. Salmon blt was delicious!! Fried oyster was also good. The tomato soup is a good palette cleanser it's literally puréed tomatoes with some seasoning. I would dine here for lunch everyday if I could.

Hannah W.

Yelp
Best wine bar we have ever been to. The service was so personal, the charcuterie board was carefully crafted, and the quaint setup was perfect for a date night. 10/10 will go again!!

Candice E.

Yelp
Great service! The somm was super knowledgeable and attentive. Perfect Friday night wine and dinner spot!

Janel H.

Yelp
So fancy my boyfriend took me here and we both ordered multiple dishes as well as drinks I think this place is amazing for a night out

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Among my favorite spots in Norfolk. Food is great. Service is awesome! Lunch it can be crowded. Always a good meal.

Leila M.

Yelp
I've never had a poor experience at Press. The vibes are immaculate. The service is friendly and fun. The menu makes it hard to choose because everything sounds AND IS delicious. I love this place for a ladies' night or more intimate 1v1 meetings. Outside of the dining experience, I enjoy utilizing the wine expertise here. Whenever I want to bring a bottle of wine to an occasion I'll stop in and get their recommendations. Usually, I'll explain the gathering and the person's preferences, and the bar manager or wine expert (I'm not exactly sure what her title is) will give me 3 recommendations within different price ranges. That service has never steered me wrong and every bottle has been received with appreciation. So whether you just want to take a bottle home or enjoy the full experience inside you are going to get the best at Press.

Yelp
We've passed by Press 626 often when we are in town, but never had the opportunity to squeeze it in; so glad we were able to check them out this time around! We came here right when they opened for brunch, and we ordered the following: +the Mezze Cheese Board - a selection of 3 cheeses of the wine bar's choosing, housemade olive tapenade, a cornichon, dried apricots, pistachios, toasted sourdough, gluten-free sesame crackers; this was super tasty and could be shared, but I scarfed it all down; I wished it came with more pickled items, though! +Crab Cake Sandwich - a nicely-sized 6 oz Chesapeake Bay crab cake, lettuce, tomato, red onions, and a side of mango jalapeno remoulade on a brioche bun; the hubs really enjoyed this, and generally not being a fan of brioche, he thought that their version of the brioche was great; the mango jalapeno remoulade complemented the crab cake well +Apple Strudel French Toast - thick hearty grain-filled bread slices with a nice batter; this wasn't overly sweet, which was perfect; great with the hot syrup +Baked Potato soup - thick, creamy, and topped with plenty of bacon bits +Parmesan truffle tots - these came out piping hot, super crispy, and had a strong taste of truffle oil; served with a little cup of ketchup, these were so addicting! I have to say, all the staff here are super friendly, welcoming, and kind - it felt like going over to a friend's place - that's how comfortable they made you feel! The vibe is also relaxing and very cute; I can see why this place is popular for dates, get-togethers, and to play catch-up. Plenty of parking in the lot behind the building. +Mezze Cheese Board +Parmesan truffle tots +friendly & kind staff! +reservations accepted +parking in lot behind restaurant

Yelp
An excellent selection in wine and the food is delicious! Nice to sit on the patio with a glass of wine when the weather is nice

Yelp
Excellent food. Nice atmosphere. I went with my friends and we ate in a quite upstairs room. I had the filet mignon and it was cooked very nicely. The charcuterie board was nice. Mixed drinks were enjoyable. Service wasn't bad, but I wish we saw our server more. (I still tip 20% minimum.) Maybe they were understaffed. Would recommend.

Yelp
The food was eclectic, with duck rolls and Fried Caprese both amazing. The gnocchi with an add of Blackened Shrimp was very tasty as well. Overall would recommend and plan to go back.

Yelp
Visiting Thursday with 3 other ladies. Ambiance, as always, is fantastic. Service by Neil was timely and unobtrusive. He was pleasant and observant of the needs of the table. The food is just so great it's hard to narrow it down to a few words. I had the DUCK CONFIT SPRING ROLLS and special soup of the day "Mushroom" was so outstanding, I took an order home. Two other guests had the Mushroom soup and agreed, best ever! All in all, the ladies were pleased and we will be back.
