"Beverage aficionados often argue that the glass is as important as what’s in it. As one of the only places you’ll find making its own beer and glassware on-site, Old City’s Pretentious Beer Co is a quirky-cool place to taste that difference in action. The liquids are pretty darn tasty, from IPAs to German-style pilsners to seltzers, and the vessels are unique and dramatic. Even the tap handles are hand-blown next door at Pretentious Glass Co. Wander over there to watch the expert glass-blowers turn out the works of art that help take the experience to the next level; naturally, you can also buy glassware to go." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones, Kellie Walton

Beers are great and glasses are beautiful. We drove all the way here just to taste the beer. I have been drooling over the beautiful glasses on Instagram for years and wanted to see what beers inspired their unique look. The beer tender was laid back and very friendly. He was extremely knowledgeable about the beer and the glasses. He recommended beers that were delicious and it was a great time. We will definitely go back when we have more time to spend and when the glass shop is open. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Google
Stopped in here while walking around downtown Knoxville. Glad we did. The beers were very good. Several different styles and all were very good. The bartender was friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend this brewery especially if you like sour style beers.

Amar Bryant

Google
Really unique place — loved every second of it. The bartender was wicked nice and gave us lots of insight and information about the beers. I really loved all the glass! All the glasses are handmade, in addition to the light bulbs. Great atmosphere. Def recommend.

Kirby Hawking

Google
Cool brewery with nice selection and some other local beers besides their own. Can sit inside or in the back at a nice patio. Can also go in and watch glass blowing.

Steven Quinn

Google
Went to visit family in Tennessee and found this gem! They have all types of beer. I have had some great beer from some well known places and the sours here are definitely better. They hit the taste profiles exactly. You won't taste a beer from this place and not know exactly what it is. I highly recommend this brewery in Knoxville over any other. The only negative is that there isn't any food on site but there are plenty of food options all around!

Corey Taylor

Google
This is the place if you like sour beers! The inside it nice and has a break collection of vintage arcade games!!! I’m not a fan of sour beers but I did like the all the ones I tried! The only reason I didn’t give them a 5 star rating was because that only have snacks and not food!

Gabby Pinkerton

Google
Love the vibe this brewery has! A chill taproom with lots of plants, good music and good people. There’s no food so plan accordingly but we really enjoyed sipping a beer here (they also have a cool patio in the back of the building) and people watching. Highly recommend making this a stop on your Knoxville adventure!

Jake Hayden

Google
Very high quality beer, elevated by the handmade glassware (though you might not notice it if you're not paying attention), and great friendly service. Cozy vibe, drinking next to the brewhouse which is next to the glass studio. Definitely has to be one of the neatest spots in the city

Matt F.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, great beer, great bartender 10/10 Plenty of different craft draft beers to try, with a great indoor and outdoor areas.

Carmen R.

Yelp
Delicious beer, and hole in the wall vibe. Me and my wife came here and enjoyed a nice beer in their back patio where the live music was just finishing up. Plenty of beers to choose from all styles and a really cool venue to sip on some cold ones with friends!

Yelp
My husband and I were looking up places to go for a date night. He and I enjoy the beer garden type pubs so when I came across Pretentious on Yelp, I knew it was our kind of place. It's located in the old city, right next to an Asian restaurant (I forget the name of it); but I believe that's the restaurant where if you order food, it comes from there. Speaking of food, while we did not order any, the smells from the restaurant while sitting outside in the garden area of the pub, was incredible! So I'm sure their food also tastes great (hopefully!). I also appreciated that they have several menus--regular, vegetarian, vegan and gluten free! The beers and ciders on tap were also pretty good. I can't speak for beer since I don't drink it, but the ciders I tried were good! I had 2-the first was a sultry cherry which, I'm not going to lie, I got it first because it said it was made with edible glitter. While I sadly couldn't see the glitter, the taste was very good! A great cider to sit in the evening summer sun and sip. The other one, again--bad with names and I forget it--it was okay, but I liked the sultry cherry most. Another cool fact about this place is that on the other side, is a glass shop where they blow their own glassware. This is the shop that makes all the glasses Pretentious uses. Plus! It's open so you can walk through and see where/how they make glass. It was pretty unique! So when you come to Pretentious, expect some great cider and beer to sip on while enjoying the outside seating, yummy smelling food and more cultured experience of enjoying glass art in one place!

Yelp
My boyfriend & I are HUGE pretentious beer & glass co fanatics. The concept of the company is so unique. They have great sour beers in the brewery half & they frequently rotate out. They give you your beer in a hand blown glass from their glass company, and once you have your drink you can choose to drink it at the bar, on the patio out back, or go watch glass blown on their glass blowing shop!!! Great beer, great experience, if you haven't go check it out!!

Brooke H.

Yelp
I absolutely loved the outside patio in the back. It is a really great space to relax and hang out. The beer selection was just a bit limited. My husband couldn't find anything remotely close to his preference, which runs to lagers and stouts. I enjoyed my Hi-Fi Cherry, and the glasses are really fun shapes.

Yelp
On a Monday afternoon, we needed to occupy the family in downtown Knoxville. Obviously, the adults had had it after an overpriced adventure with ice cream. Pretentious Beer Co caught my eye because of the live glass demonstrations and the possibility that it may entertain the children- 18, 18, 12, & 10- we walked over from Gay Street. Unfortunately, the glass area is closed on Monday and Tuesday. We decided to go in, maybe they had some things we could still see. My husband and I picked out a beer and tried to appease the family while we enjoyed them. There are plenty of varieties available. I had "The Other Getaway Driver" so smooth! It was great! They brewed using oats instead of lactose. I stuck with it for our second round telling the kids I needed a "parent moment" I wished they had it in cans so I could take some back to OH. My husband tried a double IPA and then a coffee stout. He is a beer guy, he enjoyed them. We corralled the brood to the back patio. There was plenty of room for all 6 of us to comfortably spend some time. They have great chairs and fans to keep you cool. I will say I was surprised, we have a lot of family friendly breweries at home in Dayton. I honestly didn't get that vibe from this one. However, no one side eyed us or asked us to leave. We enjoyed our time there with no paranoia. On the weekends they have beer/ seltzer slushees. I wish that we had the chance to try them. You can also purchase their glasses on their website which is fun. The glasses are all hand blown on site. I run an arts facility and was immediately interested in this aspect. Overall, the trip was disappointing because we didn't get to fully experience this- but the beer was fantastic, the atmosphere great BUT we are already planning our trip back (even the kids to see the glassblowing).

Chris S.

Yelp
Great choice of sours and seltzers. Place was surprisingly slow for a game day. Food choices weren't that great, so I stuck with a 4.

Kyle C.

Yelp
We went to Pretentious Beer for a silent disco event for NYE. An employee (the doorman) pushed my friend and I out of the way to make way so a group of girls can use the employee restroom instead of waiting in line like the rest of the patrons. He could have simply gave us a tap and we would have moved out of the way. I will not return.

Kristi S.

Yelp
Our friend's daughter raved about Pretentious, so we popped in for a beverage before dinner. There were plenty of choices of beer, and the bartender was kind to let us sample a few prior to making our decisions. The names of the beers were quite unique and creative, as were the paintings to go along with the names. The tap handles were all blown glass from the glass works next door and absolutely beautiful! Inside seating was rather minimal and cramped, outdoor seating was plentiful. Looks like a nice venue for live music! Our beers weren't bad, not our favorites. I don't have anything bad to say about Prentetious, other than we felt like outsiders intruding on a private party. Parking was difficult to come by, as well.

Courtney T.

Yelp
I'm so glad we stumbled across this brewery! There were probably 10 beers on tap. We got a flight and the flavors were delicious. The bartender was friendly and the space is great. We loved the outdoor patio-there was plenty of seating and the atmosphere was super laid back. Probably our favorite brewery visited on our short visit to Knoxville. If you love dessert and all things sweet, the key lime pie sour literally tasted like a slice of pie! The sizzurp was a sour that we chose to add cranberry syrup to. The addition of syrup helped break up the dry flavor of the sour itself.

Sarah M.

Yelp
Awesome variety of beers and sours to choose from. Super cute area to sit and have a drink with friends.

R O.

Yelp
A very unique brewery with it's own glassblowing facility, or the other way around. Interesting beer selection a great departure form typical brew places. Ambiance like it's beers makes it a fun place. Best time to visit, before the crowds, got to enjoy a personalized service.

Julie P.

Yelp
Very cool vibe in old town. They have some interesting flavors of beers which will please anyone in your party. Outdoor seating in the back is quaint. Covered and dog friendly. I had a banana beer and it was decent. the coolest part was thee glasses they were poured in were blown by the same owner. Very unique!

Missi C.

Yelp
We enjoyed visiting this Brewery while in Knoxville. We had seen a news story about Pretentious Glassware on TV. When I looked it up online I discovered the Brewery was part of the business so we decided to stop by on a recent trip from Indians to South Carolina with an overnight stop in Knoxville. Great Beers with FUN names and artwork on the labels that were displayed in their outdoor seating area. They were very dog-friendly and brought us a bowl of water to our table for our Dog Lucy.

Stephon H.

Yelp
Very good small brewery with an interesting back story. The owner has a backstory of being a very prominent and great glass artist, so a lot of the drink ware is made by him and is available for purchase. They offer so many types and varieties of beer from pilsners to Stout's. I loved my Thai vibes beer it was fruity yet balanced, and not too overtly sweet. The beer handles are custom-made as well, and add just a cool vibe to it all. What is extra cool about this place is that they do per request to-go cans. Meaning, you can't get a pre-packaged to-go pack, they make it when you ask for it. So you know you get like the freshest Product you can and you can include any flavors you want. The Samuel Jackson beer is bomb too!

Yelp
We stopped here on our way from Nashville to NC and were pleasantly surprised. Location: conveniently located just off the interstate with paid parking across the street. Beer: the beers I tried were delicious, but I can't remember the names! They have quite the selection (I have included a picture of their tap selection the day we visited) all with creative and funny names. Beertenders: they were super pleasant and happy to offer suggestions (I always love finding out what their personal favorites are). Food: they do not offer food, but there are several nearby restaurants and outside food is allowed in the brewery. Building: It is situated in an older section of town, which makes for an interesting interior. The bar itself is the first area you enter and then proceed through a doorway to reach the outdoor beer garden. We visited in October and the weather was pleasant so it made for a beautiful way to enjoy our beers. The bathroom was nice and clean as well. Overall, I recommend stopping in for a beer!

Alex F.

Yelp
This was a fun spot, and off the beaten path a little. They are not pretentious :-) They are eclectic, and in a fun way. I recommend coming in off peak hours and engaging the bartender in conversation. I was conducting a business discussion so was unable to engage in this manner. I would love to have heard the interesting stories behind the beer names and glassware! The beer I tried was good.

Yelp
I stopped by here yesterday with my with for some late afternoon drinks. After striking out at two other breweries, we finally ended up at the Pretentious Beer Co. Due to Covid-19, they had you proceed through the bar area to their outside patio/beer garden and wait for the bartender to take your order there. The outside area had 4 8-tops, 2 4-tops and a 2-top with string lights for lighting and fans to help with the temperature. They also had some hops growing up a wire and along the wall which was pretty cool to see. On this day since flights were unavailable due to COVID-19, I went with two 10 oz beers. The first one that I ordered was the You're a legend mate pink guava IPA and the second was the crispy Pom Pom pomegranate cream ale. They had some other interesting looking ones as well like the Wet Ass Pie but I wasn't looking for that 8.3% ABV beer at this point in time. In any case, I first tried the pink guava IPA and I have to admit that I really got the pink guava flavor from it. There was a bit of hops too but it was mostly dominated by guava which I can't say that I was sad about. After that I tried the pomegranate cream ale and I can't say that I was a fan. It was on the sweeter side and a little creamy as advertised. What I really didn't like about it though was that the pomegranate flavor tasted fake-ish, which may or may not be the case. It just didn't do well for my palate. So even though I said I wasn't going to try the wet ass, I ordered it as I was closing out my tab and it was absolutely delicious. It really tasted like the cherry-blueberry pie that they had promised. So basically you got some tart cherry to start and then the warming spices of a fall/winter pie on the finish. Even though it weighs in at 8.4% ABV as I mentioned above, you can't really tell which is actually sort of scary. I was thinking or rating them a 3 before I got this beer, but this changes it to a 4 for sure. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. I enjoyed both their pink guava IPA and their wet ass pie and would be interested in tasting all of their fun sounding sours, especially if they are anything like the wet ass.

Yelp
Nothing pretentious about this quirky brewery that not only pours some very inventive brews but also blows their own glass. Make sure and appreciate the beautiful tap pulls, reminiscent of Murano glass. When we stopped in they had 18 beers on tap which seem to rotate on a regular basis. First sip was Trendy AF- a cherry, apricot and vanilla bean mashup which was quite refreshing. Next up was Barrel Stout which my husband was particularly fond of. Close second on the intense flavor profile scale was the Cinnamon Roll Stout. Rounding out our sampler was Peach Ring with a burst of fresh peach flavor. They have a lovely covered patio in back with plants galore and plenty of fans to keep you cool while enjoying your beverage. A great find in the Old City neighborhood.

Daniel H.

Yelp
Excellent selection of site brewed beer and site crafted glassware. I particularly like their IPAs and my wife went with a delightful lager. Beware the 5 AM STOUT @ 10% ABV if you are driving.

Carter R.

Yelp
Kelsey was amazing. Her energy alone would bring me back! But the beer was top notch! I lived the sour patch flavor!!

Francisco O.

Yelp
This place is just downright cool. The taps are all glass blown handles from their second business attached to this one. Friendly bartender and cool patio out back. I got the Trendy AF peach milkshake IPA and my gf got a rosemary beer. Both were very solid. Wish I tried more. Great music too. I'll take Kendrick Lamar over blue grass any day.

Jason P.

Yelp
We ended up here because we liked the name, but boy oh boy was the beer delicious! It's a great little spot and we enjoyed snagging some fun merch nearly as much as we loved the beer. I highly recommend!

Connor C.

Yelp
Okay so I've been a regular at pretentious for years. My favorite spot to visit when I'm back in town. Today was the worst experience and warrants the 3 star review, keep in mind this is my favorite brewery. Beer is fantastic, today 3 tables walked out due to having only one bartender serve a crowded patio. Other people affiliated with Pretentious were gladly filling beers for family and friends but let the one bartender on the clock drown. When calling him out for the tables leaving, us included he was silent and disrespect. I know it's not strictly the bartenders fault but you need this fixed or I will only be a to-go customer.

Blake W.

Yelp
The BEST brewery on a cold winter day! Why?? Because it's connected to a Pretentious Glass Co., a hand-blown glass studio - which was obviously very warm! We grabbed a pint and watched them create some incredible art. All of their beer glasses are also hand-blown next store. All-in-all, go for the beer, stay for the glass blowing demos when they're happening. A great variety of beer, sure to impress the craft beer enthusiast.

Michael S.

Yelp
I was there for a Young Professionals of Knoxville happy hour -- so it was probably more crowded than usual. Was there on a Thursday and the place was PACKED. The beer was great. They had a collection of their own beers and others. Something I thought was unique is Pretentious makes all the beer glasses in-house. They were all uniquely shaped and seemed like they were created for each of the different types of beer. Pretentious owns the glass blowing studio next door -- check it out! Very cool experience -- I don't think there's anything else like it in Knoxville. The only con was I couldn't go out on the patio (it was too cold) because that seemed like a nice addition to the place. Will be back in the summer!

Emily W.

Yelp
Lovely experience sampling the beers at Pretentious Beer Co. Friendly environment and stellar service accompany interesting beers and beautiful glassware. Worth a stop in the glass blowing studio and shop next door.

Jody C.

Yelp
Matt had already established a barometer of quality with Pretentious Glass Co. next door. So when he opened the brewery side, the bar was pretty high...pun unintended. The bar started out as a beer bar, showcasing beer from some of the best breweries in the city and region. Even after they started brewing their own beer, the continued that tradition, sharing their beer selection. Which shows that their business truly does support others. The beer. First off, the beer is tasty and delicious. They tend towards lighters beers (IPAs, Goes, etc) as opposed to Stouts, Porters. I know that can be seasonal, but they still tend more that way. Which isn't bad, just good to know going in. Those lighter beers are crisp! They also pair their beers to the appropriate beer glass in a way unlike any others...because they literally make the glasses! I also love seeing the glass handles around town at other bars and breweries. It's an easy signifier of quality!

Bruce K.

Yelp
If you can get over the long ass lines on weekends, yes this place should be a beer spot. IPAs are all the craze nowadays, and this place is no different, if you like them, they have a plentiful amount. They also have different other ales and stouts, however compared to the IPAs on draft, it's pretty limited. They have to do something about the line... They have a pretty large bar, and at the very end there's a long line just to order drinks. At the same time it seems like even with people standing in line once they get to the front they still don't know what they want to order... Pretentious has expanded so much that their production has invaded their serving space. I remember before they didn't have it all in the same room, however coming back here I was surprised that they expanded that much. The back of the restaurant has outdoor seating and then next door is still the glass blowing shop. On weekends, they have live music, which is pretty nice. Note, that they have outdoor heaters, however in the winter, it gets pretty chilly with or without the heaters. Other than that, it's pretty much a pretty cool hangout spots and is located in old city. It can get packed and don't expect to get fast service unless you get a seat at the bar. Ask to try those beers out, even if you do slow down the line, or just get a flight of beer and enjoy!

Ricky M.

Yelp
Fun bar with a cool unique twist with the glasses created in house. You can get a 5,14 or 17 Oz glass. Plus they allow dogs!

Jack L.

Yelp
As soon as I walked in I could feel the pretentiousness and snobbiness oozing out of the pale wood bar. People were wearing suits with bow ties and dock shoes, had their noses stuck so far up in the air they could smell the polluted clouds lingering above the city These people are straight up snobs. And the patrons are even worse. I said "Hey" to one dude and his response was this: "Commoner! How dare you address me as such, swine! Return post haste to your squalid domicile and leave me, Jefferson Randolph Biltmore, in peace. I have neither the time or energy to dither and dally in conversation with thee and, forthwith, remove your self from the establishment before the constable is notified! Off with you!!" Geez bro, just trying to say hello. His wife wanted a piece of me too, so she chimed in "Jeff Randy, do not talk with this miscreant! He may possibly be consumed with mumps or measles or pox of chicken or some other such foul disease common among the serfdom. Avoid him and his kind. They are nothing to us. I, Elizabeth Beauregard Rockefeller Biltmore, of the NY Rockefellers, shall faint and be castigated if this conversation continues!" Alas, disheartened and dejected, I left after consuming only one beer. The beer of choice was Monkeynaught by a local brewer, and it was downright tasty. I thought they made their own beer here, but it is only a bar serving others' beers. On my way out, I yelled curse words and threw up my middle finger. All I heard was the sound of a body hitting the floor due to fainting. Poor Elizabeth.

Dalia M.

Yelp
Cool vibe. Great patio with oodles of plants and art so my eyes sleeted definitely not bored. Love the unique glasses and drink selections.

Erika M.

Yelp
Pretentious as s**t. That's their motto. But don't let these guys fool you! They are just about the nicest guys you'll ever meet. And the beer that they serve is top notch. Seriously, these dudes know beer and they only serve you the best. Can't wait until they are regularly serving their own, in-house brewed beer. Because it's not cool enough to drink beer out of fancy glasses that they have made on-site. Nope, they are kicking it up a notch. Beer that they've brewed on-site, out of glasses that are hand blown on-site. Yup. Pretentious as s**t...in the best possible way. The service is here is impeccable. You will feel like family here and that's because that's how they see you and everyone else that walks through the door. The space is inviting, and includes a really cool outdoor space with a stage in the back for live music. The food is unlike any bar food in town, and it's delicious. Bottomline: The Old City needed Pretentious Beer Co. Knoxville needed Pretentious Beer Co. And if you need me, you know where to find me. Cheers.

Olga N.

Yelp
One of the more unique stops in the Old City. I came here on October 22nd after their brewery opening date was pushed back a week. The hand-blown glass tap handles were freakin' adorable. Their beer selection was really nice too, although let's tap the keg from Last Days of Autumn, please! I'd give you guys five stars, but the first 20 minutes of my stay I sat at the bar, card in hand, waiting to be served, painfully ignored. It hurt. I was thirsty. I'm sure it won't be repeated. :) Can't wait to drink your beers at the bar next time! Cheers!

Sandra D.

Yelp
Got the stout in a hand blown glass and it was great!!! This place also has a great HEATED patio (when needed). Fun artistic spot.

Douglas W.

Yelp
Pretentious Beer Co. is located on S Central St in the Old City next the The Crown and Goose. The PBC is anything but pretentious. It is a great little beer garden. PBC has various local brews on tap and offers unique bar snacks. The interiors is a blend of industry and nature, from the cold brick stone walls the the soft light wood bar top and shelving. The snacks are tasty variations of bar classics. During my visit I had a sampling of the Duck Fat Popcorn and was wowed by the flavor. The popcorn was salty, buttery and had a wonderful creamy after taste. I think the kernels used were white corn instead of yellow corn. When given the option, I would prefer the yellow over the white but I'm just being picky. The popcorn portion is a tease but fairly priced at $2. PBC has a exterior covered patio with ample seating and a stage. The selling point for me, and the extra star, is the glass works next door. The Pretentious Glass Co. is connected and has a splendid bar top viewing area. The glass workers are talented and converse with their audience as often as possible. The experience was educational and extraordinary. The combination of beer and craftsmanship is unique and a diversion from the norm. Take the time to visit PBC if not only for the beer but the experience.

Yelp
I was a fan of Pretentious before they started doing their own brewing, and now with their own stuff on tap, they stand out in the Knoxville brew scene. New breweries tend to leave a lot of room for growth, but at Pretentious, the brewers know what they're doing, and out of the gate and staying steady, their beers have complex, robust profiles while remaining true to the style. They also have a nice tap rotation; always something new to try when I go in. The glass blown tap handles and the quirky beer glasses are a fun showcase of their glass company next door. The folks behind the counter are knowledgeable and friendly, the kind of people who take beer seriously but not themselves. Their senses of humor best reflected in the names of their beer. The space gets crowded quickly on typical nights, and with just two single-stall bathrooms, don't wait until you're about to burst to get in line. The outdoor patio in the back is great, and the ping pong table is a nice touch. Pretentious does a good job of bringing in live music too, so if that's your thing, keep your eye on their social media. Plenty to enjoy about Pretentious if quality, local craft beer is your thing.

Lisa S.

Yelp
2nd time visitor; first time wasn't amazing so we gave it another shot. Unfriendly bar staff, again, no social small talk or anything. They don't appear to want to be there, less than interested in talking about their beer, ni way were we going to start a tab where the staff vibe was "inconvenienced". We come from out of state for the bike race every year; just not friendly if you're not a local I guess. This is a one and done, at best, at least for us. Much more friendly places in Knox, but props for the art outside.

Jared M.

Yelp
Creative, ever-changing, delicious beers brewed by one of the most collaborative, supportive members of the Knoxville culinary community. The atmosphere is laid-back, whether you are inside at the bar or sitting at the picnic tables on the covered patio outback. They use that outdoor space to host pretty great local and regional music. And don't forget that all the beer you drink is served in hand-blown glass from the Pretentious Glass studio next door. If you are in Knoxville, escape the gravitational pull of Market Square and walk a few block to the historic Old City to enjoy this amazing 1-2 artistic-culinary punch.

Sarah B.

Yelp
Pretentious Beer Co. is a great place to go when you're visiting Knoxville. My boyfriend and I came to visit for the first time and made a pit stop here and loved it. The bartender was very friendly and told us about the glasses they make, let us sample a lot of different beers before deciding on one, and gave us suggestions for good food places since it was our first time here. It was not too crowded which we loved and the beer was great! I love the different pour sizes and the glasses are very unique! We will definitely come back here next time we visit!

Rashmit A.

Yelp
Very chill spot with really good beer and artwork! Oh, also, the glasses are worth the hype.

Shell M.

Yelp
Customer service, beer, and atmosphere was excellent! First time to Knoxville and this is a must see stop if you're looking for a quaint local brewery!

Patrick C.

Yelp
I stopped in while in Knoxville for a few hours. I like IPA's and hoppy beers, so I cannot speak to the quality of the other beers. When I looked over the menu, I saw mainly New England style IPAs and low IBU beers. There was one beer that was high IBU with an ABV of 10.2%. This was the Burly Mistress, and American Barleywine. This was the best high alcohol content beer I've ever had. For the high ABV and IBU, it was incredibly smooth. In addition, the service was great and the brewery was clean and inviting. I highly recommend it!

Kelly M.

Yelp
Super cool to see them blowing the glassware next door. Worth stopping in to see that alone. Beer is pretty good, too. They now have about 4 of their own beers on tap and also several guest taps. Cute place, stop in!

Molly I.

Yelp
Stellar beers on tap. Super friendly staff. There's something for everyone and they'll encourage you to taste to find one you like. Loved it here! But maybe that's because I'm pretentious....

Lily F.

Yelp
The staff here are awesome! They are always so friendly, willing to explain what they have on tap and make sure you really enjoy what your drinking. When I've found myself here there also always a good vibe, i feel welcome and taken care of. Not to mention a wide variety of craft beers. There is bound to be a brew for you!

This place is great! Great selection of craft beer and an amazing patio! Finally got to check out this place! They had a great band, and from what I have seen they bring in excellent bands often!

Yelp
This is going to be my new go to beer bar, especially once they can serve the high gravity brews starting tomorrow. You may be asking yourself what this place does or has that sets it apart from the numerous other beer bars in town. One word: bartenders. Will and Johnny are the absolute coolest bartenders in town. You get greeted when you come in, by name if you've been several times, and always acknowledged in some way. If they're busy they make sure to let you know they'll be right with you, which goes a long way when most places ignore or become super irritated when you're just trying to get their attention for a drink. In my opinion it's the bartenders job to greet you and get your order, not my job to flag them down for a beer. The beer selection is always top notch and they have a wide variety of beers either through taps or bottle service that will please any palate. Bar snacks are available from Oli Bea next door (try the pork rinds or pate) and they have homemade sodas on tap for the non-beer drinker or the kids. The space is really cool with a nice blend of modern and industrial elements. The small back patio is a nice touch and live music happens often. The part now is anxiously awaiting their own beers they'll be bringing into the mix.

Yelp
I enjoyed my visit to Pretentious Beer Co. They have a great location and set up. It wasn't very busy when I visited so it was easy to get service which was great. My only complaint is that they didn't have any of their own beer ready when I visited. But then did have a solid selection of various other beers which managed to satisfy me. I'll need to revisit at some point in the future when they are serving their own beer.

Yelp
If you are visiting Knoxville microbreweries visit this one. It's so unique. The glass company next door makes the beer glasses to compliment the types of beer.
