Google
Food joint appealing to millennials, minimalists, and social media junkies. It is inside Neighborhood Goods which is the ATX SoCo version of a luxury goods department store. The food was mediocre at a slightly higher price point for what is served, setting was clean, order at bar then self serve from there so you don't have to be bothered by waitstaff - a key for antisocial minimalist millennials on social media ;)

Google
Very spacious located on SoCo and inside of Neighborhood Goods to the left! More signage would be helpful so guests on the main streets can navigate themselves accordingly, but the atmosphere and experience was fantastic. My father is a culinary critic and is difficult to impress, but said everything was delicious and my mother loved the photos Hector took of us!

Google
Burger and bun did not look like anything in the pics published as per the other reviews I saw on google plus it was oddly cooked on the outside but tasted undercooked on the inside, McDonalds burger would have been one level up from this one 🤣, chose not to even finish it just in case. Nice people and atmosphere Not a fan of quality of food though sorry 🤷‍♂️

Google
The food was GREAT and its evident they put attention to detail on presentation and the preparation of it. The crispy chicken sandwhich was crunchy, flavorful, and definitely recommended. Our club sandwhich was phenomenal as it had great flavor coming from the char grilled marks and great quality of ingredients. We are DEFINITELY coming back to try their charcuterie boards and the fantastic drinks on their menu! The layout is great and inviting.

Google
We ate lunch here and had the fried chicken strips (very good), chicken club (decent), grilled cheese (okay but pricy for grilled cheese), and the special of the day which was a gyro (not very good). Service was great and they were friendly. The atmosphere is a little different than we are used to as you walk in to a retail store and then head over to the circle bar to eat.

Marat Nizberg

Google
Had coffee here. Really cool store/restaurant space. Really enjoyed the atmosphere

Eliza Edwards

Google
This was quite tasty overall! The margarita (note not pictured)lead the way! A little more crunch on the sp fries and the turkey club was filling. Good price point service was timely even with a large order and a bit of a mix up was rectified. The atmosphere was bright and trendy and not over stimulating. This shop and eat concept was a good balance of both.

Today I waited over 20mins, during my 30min break, for two tacos. The server, short blonde hair, was too busy talking with her friend to check on my order. The kitchen never got my order and she blamed it on her ticket printer and the BOH server. She never relayed any information to me, i had to go up and ask her the status of my order, while only having 5mins left of my break. When I stated I can no longer wait, I also let her know that it feels like issues always pop up when ordering food and she said "we're working on it." It felt rude and dismissive. She then stated "we can make your coffees on the house"...I didnt order coffees. please ensure the staff you have serving 1. pay attention to their guests and not friends 2. aren't dismissive when guests are giving feedback. The constant kitchen issues and this service makes me not want to come back. Which is really unfortunate because the food and drinks are great.

Yelp
Cute place with open seating located next to a department store. They have a bunch of sandwich and salads and great coffee. Food is decent. Overall, it's a nice casual place to hangout and you can usually find a seat easily. I just found the couch seat covers dirty and the mall like restaurant feeling with people shopping right next door is not my thing.

Yelp
Amazing happy hour spot! Happy hour is Monday-Friday 4pm-7pm What to order: Paloma ($7 - normally $13) - your classic tequila and grapefruit cocktail. I asked them to put a bit of simple syrup in mine to make it a little sweeter! Charcuterie and Cheese Board ($10 - normally $14) - incredible value and super yummy. I split with a friend and didn't end up eating dinner that night because I was so full. Board has multiple meats and cheeses, strawberry jam, olives, mustard, honeycomb, and more. Couldn't recommend this spot any more - you need to go!

Yelp
I was browsing Yelp for a lunch spot & decided to try this place. It was an interested blend of a cafe and clothing store. I ordered the club and my husband had the burger. My club was very nice- the sourdough bread was delicious. The burger was good but was thin and not very juicy. The side salad was very basic. The service was great and the food came relatively quickly. The fabric of the seats could use a deep clean. A little odd having shop around you while you eat but the food is good.

Michelle Y.

Yelp
I really can't emphasize enough how good this little coffee shop is. It's located within a store (Neighborhood Goods), but the ambience is quite nice. I love coming here to study since the bar has so much table space for me to work on. The service here is consistently amazing; the servers are super kind and often strike up fun conversations. Every time I come here, I order the iced vanilla latte. It's got a sweet touch to it and is so creamy ! I highly recommend. The food here is also pretty good. I ordered The Goods Burger with a side of french fries and it hit the spot. Definitely take advantage of their Happy Hour !

Michelle O.

Yelp
Great ambiance, was shopping on Congress and pulled into this shop as a little break which was perfect since Proper had a $7 chefs choice wine . My server picked perfectly for me and was great little break from shopping

Daywah S.

Yelp
Prim and Proper is a very cute place for a little study or coffee date. My sister and I stopped by here one day and decided to stay. We shared a chocolate chip cookie (which was super good) and studied for a little. There are many seating options and as long as you don't mind the people shopping around you, it makes a great study spot. Super cute place and the workers are so sweet and knowledgeable as well! Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Looking for a top notch daytime cocktail after shopping and walking down S Congress, and served by some awesome bartenders? This is where to stop, cool off, (because Austin is way too hot), I suggest stop here! It's connected to the store Neighborhood Goods, so you can do a little browsing right after you eat... Also this place is super LGBTQ friendly, so if you're a homophobe, you should stay away. It was awesome being with my best friend who is an openly gay male, he felt right at home! They also let us drink this canned Rośe that is literally called "So Gay Rośe". Not gonna lie, it was pretty good, 14% alcohol, but don't worry, if you're straight it won't change you! Lol Val, and Sam were serving us, and were extremely helpful, friendly, funny and knowledgeable. I could tell that they enjoyed their job, which made our experience even better. Sam will make a cocktail that puts you on your a$$ right after. Ask home to make you a gummy bear daiquiri...

Vishal P.

Yelp
I don't know what this place is. Is it a clothing store? a cafe? a bar? Yes! Came in following a friend who was shopping, sat at the bar and had a cocktail and got a coffee to go. Its cool, clean space, there was an area where someone was working on their computer and another spot with a TV.

Anamaria C.

Yelp
Meh. Everything was just okay. We had avocado toast, burger, and grilled cheese. Would not go back

Donna S.

Yelp
DOG FRIENDLY!! :) Located INSIDE Neighborhood Goods store; we have eaten here several times. Nice inside seating area, as well as a few tables outside. GREAT for people-watching! We've tried (& LIKED!): Millenial Toast (though misspelled, this avocado toast is on Ancient grain toast with Everything spice!); Kale & Brussels Salad (tasty but shaved Brussel sprouts seemed raw, so a bit too chewy for my liking); Crispy Chicken sandwich & Veggie Burger are both good choices (though I'd ask, next time, for them to substitute something for the Kale & Brussels slaw); soups have been tasty & comforting on cold days. We've never tried them, but are usually tempted by the CREATIVE Cocktails (& I think they have a mocktail version of a few drinks)

Allie R.

Yelp
Fantastic happy hour prices. We ordered the cheese board and hummus plate and were so satisfied by the size and quality. Delicious drinks to complete the meal! Great location as it is in the heart of congress. It is located inside the store Neighboorhood Goods so you can shop around too.

Yelp
I used to LOVE THIS PLACE!! The food was always good and consistent..but now, not so much. I have always advertised for this place with everyone at work.. and usually have great things to say. The last 3-4 orders I have placed through Uber Eats have been really disappointing. Here is my latest order feedback: The salad had cheese on it!! For the first time ever.. and a different dressing.. I did not order that and didn't not want it. Who puts cheese with arugula?? I tried to request a refund but that did not work.. the fries were waffle fries - also different and unexpected. Not happy with this order. The sandwich did not have any sauce and the "brussel sprout slaw" was essentially two tiny pieces of shaved brussel sprout. Very dry and gross. Super disappointed because I used to be a very frequent customer but your quality has changed drastically.

Zachary L.

Yelp
A lucky find on Sunday. Amazing variety on the menu with a phenomenal smash burger and waffle fries! Love that they serve great coffee and a cocktail if needed. Service was great and the Head Chef, Travis, came out to check in and chat - he was awesome! Highly recommend!

Victoria W.

Yelp
Love this cute little café. It is located inside Neighborhood Goods on the newer end of South Congress. You can park in the Music Lane garage ($6 for 2 hours), but unfortunately, they do not validate. I met up a friend for lunch this week and we wanted to vet some coffee shops that we could work from in the future and I think Prim and Proper is making the list! The expansive floor to ceiling windows allow lots of natural light to flood in. Makes the space so beautiful and would be excellent to work in. On their holiday menu, they also have boozey coffee drinks so you can easily work and booze at the same time (not that I'm suggesting you do that). I got the salted caramel latte and it was very strong, good thing I was not working that day! My friend ordered the espresso martini and she said it was also very delicious without skimping on the booze. For the food, we shared a Crispy Chicken Sandwich, which was DELICIOUS, and a Kale and Brussels salad (the dressing could have used a little more flavor). We had a delicious lunch that culminated with some gossip and shopping! Could you find a more perfect spot? We will definitely be returning for a work date to try some of their coffee drinks, maybe even sans the alcohol.

Yelp
I went to Prim and Proper for a fun girls dinner and we had a great time. I did have some trouble finding it at first, it's located inside the Neighborhood Goods, but once I checked some Yelp reviews I was able to track it down. It's a cute, modern little spot and the menu is massive. I had some trouble deciding what I wanted but ended up going with the Julep to drink and the burger for food. The burger was slightly more well done than I typically like but the flavor was there and the fries on the side were so good. The julep is super refreshing, I would definitely get that to drink again. As far as the staff, they were amazing - very attentive, seemed happy to be there, and really helpful with any menu questions. Also, this place is very LGBTQ friendly which is always a plus! COVID Precautions: Masks are required unless seated.

Venice B.

Yelp
This place is the epitome of a hidden gem. I ordered an iced matcha latte and it was 10/10. My friend ordered a burger and fries, which she enjoyed as well. This cute cafe provides a lot of space for seating and doing work. I would definitely come back and give their coffee a try on my next visit.

Jessica M.

Yelp
Really wanted to like this place. I have tried it multiple times. Could never really find something that was great and consistent every time I ordered. Staff wasn't very educated on what they had available for the day, sometimes they had soup sometimes they didn't. Sometimes they had breakfast tacos sometimes not. I would call and order and get there to pick up and they were like sorry out of soup...why did no one call and let me know before just showing up? Everyone seems to hate their job, they don't smile or love waiting on you. I stopped coming in to sit down, and then I stopped getting togo food all together. I called a few times, when they left out things from my order, and they acted like it was MY problem that I couldn't just let it slide and not complain about it. Definitely better places on Soco than this one. service overall ruined it for me, the food is sometimes edible. Check out summer house or lucky robot, even Jo's coffee has a good Togo lunch !

Benjamin Y.

Yelp
Wonderful vibe and great drinks. Happy hour was a delight. Moscow mule was fresh and old fashioned a bit sweet but bearable. Charcuterie board was delicious. Great atmosphere and fun to walk around and shop

Joyce E.

Yelp
This place is a vibe! Came on a Friday and they had a dj! It's an open concept seating arrangement and have a good menu!

Joseph F.

Yelp
The food was GREAT and its evident they put attention to detail on presentation and the preparation of it. The crispy chicken sandwhich was crunchy, flavorful, and definitely recommended. Our club sandwhich was phenomenal as it had great flavor coming from the char grilled marks and great quality if ingredients. We are DEFINITELY coming back to try their charcuterie boards and the fantastic drinks on their menu! The layout is great and inviting.

Josie G.

Yelp
A unique idea. Food was good and the ambiance was really relaxed. I would definitely go again.

Nicole L.

Yelp
I ordered on Uber eats. The breakfast taco had no cheese and no soul. Sadly the food wasn't good. Maybe dining in is better but that was a massive L for me. Avocado was brown. I don't think that's an Uber eats issue? I feel bad cause maybe I'm mad cause of the food being soggy from Uber eats. But I donno about the brown avo and gross taco. Honestly I appreciate well made food but in their case a Taco Bell taco is better

Kris R.

Yelp
We had burgers that were served with lukewarm patties, soggy lettuce and the mushy tomato. The meat was the thinnest I've ever had in a restaurant with absolutely no seasoning. The drinks weren't great either. Not super expensive, but not the best choice for your money on South Congress. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Monica Z.

Yelp
Located inside Neighborhood Goods on south Congress, you will be pleased to find this modern hidden gem! We had such a fun experience dining here. We enjoyed a delicious hot golden milk, the veggie burger wrapped in lettuce and the crispy chicken sandwich, both with a side of their super yummy fries. They have a ton of vegan options and a kids menu as well!

Emerald S.

Yelp
Great place for happy hour hour. It's a store and a restaurant in one. The happy hour is Monday-Friday 4pm-7pm. Check it out.

Michelle C.

Yelp
The soup was great - it has a nice spicy kick. The staff is friendly, and the environment is laid back. Seems like it'd be a good place to work from during the day.

Kimi F.

Yelp
This is seriously one of my fav bars on S Congress. I mean they have to go drinks...say whaaaat?! But not just any drinks, delicious, freshly made drinks. We have been here a few times and every time I try a new drink and I'm like sh** that's good! Yesterday we ordered two palomas. I watched the bartender squeeze a fresh grapefruit for the drinks. They were DELICIOUS. They also have tasty treats-sprinkle cookies, and healthy treats-wraps, salads, etc. Just overall a great place to work from as well. Very beautiful and great plants as well in the space. They have the Oprah hot sauces *exciting*. Will be back for sure!

Med F.

Yelp
Great food and very nice and inviting atmosphere. Love all the different retail displays. Excellent and friendly service. In terms of food and drinks, high quality ingredients and tasty food. Prices are reasonable. Parking is a challenge though!

Morgan J.

Yelp
This is a store and restaurant. Kind of an unusual setup. We didn't realize, as weekend visitors to Austin, that the place we picked for lunch would also be a place people were buying doggy dry shampoo. Yes, it's also kind of a silly store. They have very pretty products, but they are expensive, and some of them don't need to exist. Still, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was a reasonable price and portion.

Karen B.

Yelp
Delicious and quick lunch. We had put our name down on the wait list for a nearby restaurant but we had finished an entire meal here by the time we got called! Food was fresh and drinks were yummy! We will definitely return!

Sam N.

Yelp
Chicken sandwich was on point. if it was spicy I would give 5 stars. wife had the veggies burg and said it was very tasty. my kids ate all the chicken so score. cute shop with good foo.

Abs F.

Yelp
To start, the interior design of this location was just beautiful. From the shape of the bar to the greenery filled space, this lunch place was so organically clean and eco friendly. The food was sooooo amazing; visually pleasing and tasty! I had the garden salad and when I tell you it was the best salad ever, I mean it puts all other salads to shame. There was the perfect amount of dressing, fruit and texture. I wish I could eat here everyday.

Ruhi M.

Yelp
This spot is truly a hidden gem! The happy hour list is fantastic and everything we had on the menu was absolutely delicious!

Terrell W.

Yelp
1st!! We live we laughed we shopped Ask for Travis and the "champagne room" Have a glass of wine and shop your pants off!

Rob R.

Yelp
Really enjoy this little spot. Big windows so lots of natural light, nice circular bar, tasty menu things and solid drink selection for happy hour. Even a natural wine or two. Burger is great.

Jacob R.

Yelp
Cute place. Great finds. Coffee is good and quick. Food is delicious. Passes the vibe check. Sometimes I like to get work done here with a cup of coffee and a light lunch. The customer service is flawless. The employees are friendly and helpful.

N S.

Yelp
this is a great little spot to pop in and enjoy a quality HH drink and a quick bite if you prefer to avoid the soco crowds - I have yet to see it popping because I guess most think it's just another store. Bloody Mary (there's sriracha Ketel One and Maggi seasoning in it) is insane !!!

Katrena S.

Yelp
I was really pleasantly surprised by this place. I scoped out the menu on Yelp before going, but was surprised to walk into a restaurant inside a small department store! That said, we all really enjoyed our meal. We had the garden salad with grilled chicken, the fried chicken sandwich, and the kids chicken tenders plate. It was flavorful, the service was friendly and prompt, and I will swing by again for a quick bite in the future.

Isaiah M.

Yelp
This place is a mid shopping oasis. It has all the fixings you need to make South Congress a full day. Great drink, food, coffee, shopping, and they have to bad ass Tonal fitness machines. It's like 5 places in 1!!!!

Aspen E.

Yelp
I went there today and let me tell you it is like the best place I have ever been great customer service totally eco-friendly also there's a employee named Sam and he made hand squeeze lemonade just for my little sister that shows you just how much someone cares.

Jesse J.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem inside Neighborhood Goods. Really enjoyed the cocktail list and awesome customer service. Can't wait to visit again. Also, just found out they offer takeout.

Lily Y.

Yelp
Tomato bisque and avacado toast were spot on. I had the best bloody mary from this place. It was spicy and so flavorful. So good that I had two. The staff here were super nice as well. Do some shopping in Neighborhood Goods and stop by.

Emily R.

Yelp
I this place via DoorDash for the first time tonight and it did NOT disappoint! I had a friend over for a distanced glass of wine and my fridge was empty; naturally I needed a charcuterie board. It was delicious! Fair portions of cheese and meats as well as lovely local honey, olives and a blueberry jelly ramekin KF yumminess as well as a generous portion of bread and crackers. The hummus was light, creamy and full of flavor. I'd never heard of this place until I saw it on DD, took a chance and I'll definitely be ordering again!

Kevin S.

Yelp
This place has a cool concept with being able to eat and shop in the same place. It has a great happy hour and is a hidden gem in this area.

Brandon S.

Yelp
Free drinks!? Restaurant?! Tons of different quality items!? I love this store. My girlfriend had to drag me out. If I was stronger than her I would have stayed forever.
