12 Hot New Brunch Spots to Check Out in Los Angeles

"One of LA’s hottest new pizza spots also offers brunch daily from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., with lunch options starting right after. On the breakfast menu at Prima Donna, find a full bread section with options including croissants and a bagel with lox, plus lemon ricotta pancakes, a market frittata, and more." - Eater Staff

Prima Donna Review - Culver City - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Unless you’re a 9-to-5er in Culver City, there’s no reason to rush to Prima Donna. This Sicilian restaurant in the old Etta space kept its predecessor’s generic “modern American” look, with whitewashed brick, Edison bulbs, and a general sense of déjà vu. The menu has its share of predictable moments, too: a little gem salad, crispy brussel sprouts, and another spicy vodka pasta. The Apple employees letting loose with negronis at the bar are the ones getting the most out of this place. While most things at Prima Donna are just fine, the pizzas are pretty respectable. The charred crust is on the thicker side and crackly rather than chewy. Split the cheesy White Lotus with fennel sausage and thinly sliced potatoes over a few spritzes, and you’ll have a perfectly good time." - Sylvio Martins

LA’s New Restaurant Openings - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Taking over the old Etta space in Culver City is Prima Donna, a new Sicilian restaurant with an emphasis on pizza. The wood-fired pies come topped with bold-flavored things that make your breath equally bold, like anchovies, garlic crema, and linguiça (there’s also your standard margherita). Expect vegetable dishes, pasta, and big meat entrees, too.  " - Sylvio Martins

Prima Donna Opens in Culver City With Sicilian Wood-Fired Pizza and Pasta - Eater LA

"Prima Donna is a restaurant located in the former Etta space on the ground floor of Culver City's Shay Hotel. It offers a Sicilian-influenced menu with a variety of appetizers, vegetables, pizzas, pastas, and large-format plates. The menu includes items like grilled sardines on toast with chorizo and capers, lamb meatballs with braised greens, and pizzas such as the White Lotus pie and Prima Donna pizza. Pasta dishes include spaghetti with grilled lobster, black truffle cavatelli, and duck sausage orecchiette. The restaurant aims to be approachable and fun, drawing inspiration from Sicilian culture and shows like The White Lotus." - Matthew Kang

I came here last night and everything was spot on. The ambience of the restaurant is so relaxing and fun. You feel like you're on your own bubble. This is the type of place you show off to your friends. The food was incredible. Everything I had was amazing. I couldn't stop smiling. I absolutely recommend the olives. They were not what I was expecting in a really good way. The service was great too. I wish I remembered the runner's name but he was hilarious. I also appreciate they had mocktails. And one of the best things is that it is a hotel restaurant so they have breakfast, brunch, and lunch as well. I absolutely recommend and I will definitely be back. . Not sure about parking is though. Apparently we parked in the wrong lot so call ahead of time.

Google
Prima Donna NEVER disappoints! I have so many favorites (including the spicy pepperoni pizza and grilled prawns) but I tried something different this time - the lobster spaghetti. It was amazing!! So flavorful.. the amount of sauce was just right, the noodles were cooked perfectly, and the lobster was plentiful and meaty. I never eat my entire meal at restaurants but I couldn't stop myself lol... I don't see how I'll get anything else the next time I visit. The kale caesar salad is also yummy! The service is always top notch - I mean you really can't go wrong with Prima Donna. Make the reservation!

Replacing our beloved Etta, this new restaurant has great potential with their Sicilian style Italian menu. Although known for their wood-fired pizza their menu has a huge variety of options. The inside atmosphere is upscale & looks identical to the previous Etta. We started with their kale caesar with creamy parmesan dressing, the grilled prawns with fennel pollen, and their delicata squash. The caesar salad and prawns were big favorites. For mains we ordered their tiarra donna with spicy vodka sauce and the grass fed half lamb rack that is slow cooked. Both crowd pleasers. Lastly their cocktails were phenomenal, the midnight noir (house whiskey blend, nonino, pear, averna, angostura, orange bitters) so good for any old fashioned lover and their roma paloma (la tierra de acre mezcal, campari, lemon, grapefruit, carpano, orgeat, orange bitters, fee foam) for the mezcal lovers. Our server Kory took such great care of us and was so great with his enthusiam and recommendations. Looking forward to coming back! PSA: Parking is Valet or paid structure parking.

Google
Beautiful spot and great ambiance. Formerly known as Etta, this place has a very similar menu and vibe. I believe they’re still getting their footing with some items but definitely would come back again. Solid for families, dates, or just hanging with a group. I recommend getting the off menu ribeye (or if you’re vegetarian the spicy rigatoni dupe) and the lemon matcha cake for dessert.

Google
This place is SOOOO good!!! Our waiter recommended both the branzino and the lobster pasta and my goodness, those were good dishes! Both were packed with flavor and delicious!!! The branzino was perfectly cooked and the lobster oasta was seasoned to perfection! Our waiter also recommended the lemon pistachio cake. I usually don’t like lemon desserts but I put all of my faith in our waiter’s recommendations since he was spot on with the mains. And boy was he right!! That cake was moist and the lemon flavor was subtle that I didn’t even mind it. Ugh I wish I was there again tonight for another meal! Don’t get the prawns which weren’t good at all. This dish wasn’t recommended by the waiter so we should’ve known not to get them lol

Google
I'm glad they took over this space. Great food and hospitality. It was a little over $100/pp but we had cocktails, appetizers, the 36oz Florentina steak (cooked perfectly), pastas, pizzas and dessert. Can't wait to come back.

My husband and I experienced the culinary delights of Prima Donna (adjoining the Shay Hotel) for the first time this last weekend. What a treat! We consider ourselves foodies - lovers of Italian food, especially with an updated flare. Prima Donna offers all that and more in the variety of dishes offered in a warm, modern, and spacious decor. We weren't disappointed. I couldn’t tell you a favorite dish, because everything we ordered was excellent. From the wild mushroom arancini to the lamb rack to the White Lotus pizza, each dish was delicious. The atmosphere was comfortable and inviting and the service staff was attentive and highly knowledgeable about the menu items. If you’re looking for an excellent meal & a lovely night out, I highly recommend Prima Donna, a Culver City gem!

Our group of 11 people where kindly accepted for a last minute reservation, staff where friendly and professional. We had a great seating area near the kitchen and the atmosphere was so delightful, great music and our server Anthony was fantastic, he suggested great dishes to try and they did not disappoint. The Truffle Cavatelli and the White Lotus Pizza was an absolute hit. Our appetizers were so delicious, we had the meatballs with sauce and a very crunchy garlic bread, as well as a delicious salad with meat in the middle, the brussel sprouts where to die for, so much flavor! We ended the evening with delicious drinks, affogato and yummy pistachios cake. We had an amazing time!

Yelp
This is my second time here. Won't be back. We walked in at 7:15. Service was slow. Had to ask twice for refilled waters. Waiter only came one time and that was it until I asked a bus boy for the check. Pizza isn't very good and pasta is okay but not homemade for $30. Would pass. Save your money and time!! Ambiance is nice inside but doesn't make up for service

Yelp
Prima Donna moved into the magical space Etta had created after Etta suddenly closed their doors earlier this year. We were super sad to see Etta go but the new owners designed a categorically similar menu. The server we had was really great. He gave us nice wine and food recommendations last Friday when we popped in for our family dinner night. He was accomodating and attentive which we appreciated very much. We ended up ordering a bottle of their Greek red wine, the lamb chops, their meatballs and their white lotus pizza. The food is tasty and the service on par from before. I'm glad we still have an Italian option in this beautiful space.

Yelp
This place was amazing. Both the food and service were incredible! I won't give too much deal because it won't matter at this point since it's permanently closed. My friend and I were very sad to see this place go.

Yelp
In short, I would NOT recommend this place to friends. Ambiance 3/5: the restaurant has replaced etta in the east edge of culver downtown, where the establishment is adjacent to the hotel on one side and across the street from the apple building on the other side, the light is so dim inside, you barely could even read the menu Service 1/5: very rushed from ordering drink to food, definitely felt being pushed to order so soon even before getting the chance to check their menu, table was being cleaned too fast and my time tasting food was annoyingly interrupted a few times, in the end, the server wasn't helpful at all, it's your job to do the bill correctly, and it's such a bad system of tipping high for terrible experience, instead it should have been a reward to encourage excellent service Food & Drink 3/5: classic Italian pasta and pizza options spicy pepperoni, linguiça, tomato fior di latte, oregano - *** average the white lotus, fennel sausage, white sauce, caciocavallo, crispy potato, red onion - **** recommend rigatoni, ragu (beef, pork, & veal), sheep ricotta, grana padano - *** great sauce, but undercooked pasta Lemon Pistachio Cake matcha, lemon ricotta filling - *** average ca hazy ipa, la ale works 'frisbee' - *** average Price 2/5: small portions and overpriced for the food quality, I seriously wouldn't mind spending more for delicious food, but definitely feel it's a rip off paying $100 for such mediocre food, let alone they charge mandatory servicing fee and extra tax on top of it, not worth it

Yelp
This Resturant took over what used to be ETTA, still looks pretty much the same. Went with a large group. We didn't enjoy the cocktails much, and food came out kinda room temp, however we were impressed with the flavors of the food. I would recommend the branzino.

Yelp
Arancini and ragu pasta are incredible. Probably on the top 3 of best ragu pastas I've ever had. White Lotus pizza had a nice flavor as well either sausage, Nice cocktails as well. Everything we ordered recommended by our waiter Kelly was amazing - don't stray from what he recommended, learned this the hard way. Ambience has a modern moody vibe which is perfect for date night or dinner with friends. This restaurant closed on August 31st so get in while you can!

Yelp
Service and ambiance were great! Our server was super attentive and helpful. Really enjoyed the white lotus pizza, the Brussel sprouts, the yellowtail crudo, arancini and fried green olives. I'm not a big fan of the texture of mushrooms so the black truffle cavatelli was not my favorite - but that's more of a personal preference. Overall really enjoyed it but think I liked Etta's food a little better.

Yelp
Prima Donna replaced Etta, but the space looks and feels exactly the same. The menu is similar as well. Our group enjoyed the pastas, pizza & salads, but compared to Etta we liked Etta a little bit more. Service was good, and I liked my mezcal cocktail. Overall, the ambience is great for larger groups, and the food is good! They have valet parking but with other parking lots and street parking nearby, it doesn't make sense to pay for valet.

Yelp
I struggle with this review since there is so much potential here yet my experience was not exceptional. The night started on a high note. The ambience is fantastic, and they gave us a free glass of bubbles at the door. I was really looking forward to my meal. We were seated at a long table near the kitchen. I could tell from the start that they were a bit overwhelmed. Our group of 13 were starving and just doing drink orders was a long process. We tried to signal the waiter to order and were asked for patience. Once we ordered the food came out quickly. Food was overall very good. I would say portions are on the smaller end and prices on the higher side. The New York strip that was on special was phenomenal. Favorite of the night. Brussel sprouts, black truffle cavatelli, and mushroom pizza were for sure highlights. I didn't photograph much of the food because it took about an hour from when we arrived to our actual food and everyone was so hungry I couldn't catch it before the plate was empty. (We ordered most of the menu) The service was where I felt the night soured. I finished my first cocktail and didn't get a second for over 40 mins. Water glasses were not filled unless we could flag someone down and a large bowl of pasta sauce was dropped and splattered on half our party. The restaurant did apologize and brought complimentary drinks and dessert but it was a birthday and the mood was set from the start. Our party would have drank twice as much if someone would have followed up with us regularly. I hope that they work out the kinks in their service and others have a better experience. I would say it's a good place for cocktails and light apps ... if you're not too hungry and patient.

Yelp
Prima Donna is one on Culver City's newer restaurants. Formerly known as Etta, it did not disappoint. Located in the Shay Destination by Hyatt in Culver City, it boasts a huge open dinning area with subtle lighting and a warm ambiance. The decor sets it apart from a typical restaurant. The service was wonderful and the staff were very attentive. The food was just as delightful and pleased our palettes. We ordered family style to be able to taste everything. Drinks were served as soon as we sat down and were nicely made. It was not very crowded and we went on a Sunday evening so that made the noise level pretty low. There are tons of seating areas. Seating is limitless. Please check out this restaurant if you are looking for a nice evening with warm hues and fabulous food.

Yelp
I was scrolling through X earlier this morning and found an article on Prima Donna (formerly Etta) and, to my surprise, the Grand Opening was this evening! I texted a couple friends and the rest is history! I arrived a bit early prior to our reservation so I could grab a drink at the bar and snap a few pics. Suzy helped me out at the bar and she was very accommodating. Ordered a drink from her and asked what her favorite dishes on the menu were. As my friends trickled in, I closed out and we headed to the main dining room. We asked to be sat close to the kitchen, so we could check everything out. Arman was our tour guide for the evening and he was amazing! Friendly, attentive and reminded us of Bradley Cooper! LOL! He also suggested some great items on the menu that we ended up ordering! Thanks for that! This is what we ordered: * Fried Green Olives * Arancini * Lamb Meatballs * Broccolini * Warm Delicata Squash * The White Lotus * Black Truffle Cavatelli * Tiara Donna * Orecchiette * Lemon Ricotta Pistachio Cake * Frangelico Mascarpone Affogato I know what you're thinking...don't judge, there were four of us! Okay, okay, it was still a lot of food! Haha! A lot of delicious food! Highlights for me were the Arancini - the 'Nduja and burnt pepper aioli was EVERYTHING! Perfect heat level and amazing crunch. I also enjoyed the Warm Delicata Squash - it was unique and unlike other dishes I've had at Italian restaurants. The texture of the squash was really nice and the burrata and walnut pesto really accented this dish nicely. White Lotus Pizza was YUM! Love me a white pie with potatoes on it! Wood-fired crust is everything; however, the crust was slightly too burnt on certain pieces for my liking. Texture of the pizza crust is great though! Last but not least, the Tiara Donna Pasta is a game changer! So simple, but so delicious! That heat with the vodka sauce was perfect and the pasta's consistency was my preferred al dente. To wrap things up, we ordered the Lemon Ricotta Pistachio Cake (thanks, Arman!) and the Frangelico Mascarpone Affogato. Both amazing, but the Lemon Ricotta really takes the cake! (see what I did there?) Delicious layers in every bite, we probably could've ordered two! My tummy is satisfied and I'll be back!

Yelp
This place is really cute and I loved the atmosphere. The food was amazing and tasty. The service was on point. My only complaint was the food is a little pricey. The spaghetti with lobster was $50!! I ordered olives for an appetizer and they all had pits which I didn't like. The vodka pasta was my fav. I will probably be back.

Yelp
Prima Donna was very nice! In all transparency it still looks like Etta on the inside but its menu is definitely different which brings its own flare. We stopped in for brunch and it was delicious! The kitchen needs to work out a few kinks, the ticket time in my opinion was too long for how slow it was, but our food was very yummy. Service was great! I'll be back because the dinner menu looks epic.
google avatar

Julia R.

Yelp
Highly recommend. I came for my birthday and the food did not disappoint. Everything was seasoned perfectly. Unique flavors. I was surprised by the melon salad, the vinaigrette dressing was perfect. Citrus, tangy, a little bit sweet, and it paired perfectly with the melon and prosciutto. we tried two different pasta dishes, and they were also great. We ended the night with their famous pistachio cake, which I highly recommend. The only thing I'm slightly disappointed by the fact that our server didn't know or forgot that it was my birthday, even though I mentioned that when I made the reservations and got a happy birthday from the server, so there was no candle or anything on the dessert
google avatar

Carlo G.

Yelp
The Tiara Donna Pasta was good, but portion size was too small. My friend gave me some of her margherita pizza and it was standard, but didn't like the burnt parts. The inside was nice, great for dinner dates or work dinners. The waiters were also pretty nice.
google avatar

Jamie C.

Yelp
Tried out Prima Donna during Dine LA and wow the food and vibes were immaculate! Portions were smaller from the Dine LA menu, but it was really nice to try different things from their menu. My favorite was the pistachio cake with lemon ricotta filling, not too sweet and super delicious. The restaurant is right next to The Shay hotel. Came here for date night but saw a couple of corporate parties on a weekday.
google avatar

Diana C.

Yelp
In the same space as Etta. They changed ownership and new menu. It's only been 2 weeks since they re-opened under Prima Donna, so didn't go in with too high expectations. But it's a strong contender, they have a few kinks to work out before it becomes AS popular as Etta was. Got the frito misto, Brussel sprouts, bone marrow, tortellini, pappardelle (special of the night), mushroom pizza, chicken, and the pistachio lemon cake. All were pretty tasty. The standouts would be the chicken (and the sauces it comes with. SO GOOD, the chimichurri sauce especially, I could put that sauce on everything!) The ambiance is still there, the space is still wonderful, they kept most of the wait staff so the vibes are still there while they figure out the menu a bit more. All in all it's worth a trip. The parking can be a pain tho, it's $18 for valet now or you can try to find street parking and go for a walk, or park at The Platform (which is way cheaper).

Yelp
Went for brunch with a friend and the vibe was super chill and earthy. We sat at the patio and soaked in the greenery and fresh air. Their brunch menu was small, but the food was top-notch. The server was on point and really helpful. All in all, it was a great time and I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Chilled out here as I arrived in LA and prepped for an early morning appointment. A typical hotel restaurant, with a very untypical host. Gabby was just lovely seating me in a comfy spot. Helpful with local info. Such a great bright person on a very early day! Coffee and a scone. $15.
google avatar

Addy K.

Yelp
I used to come here when it was Etta, and from what I recall, the decor remained the same. Had an early dinner reservation (6:30p) on a Wednesday, so it wasn't too busy or noisy. When it's packed, it gets loud and can be difficult to have conversations over the noise. However there's outside seating too. I was also happy to see the quality of food is still good.
google avatar

Richard L.

Yelp
First and foremost, this is very similar to the same layout , bar and everything that was at Etta. We ordered a couple items before we ordered our mains. The first was the 4 prawns . For $28 for the amount of food / prawn meat that you get it was definitely overpriced (I would not order them again because of the size/ price) but they were tasty but small. We also ordered a kale salad and it was quite good and a decent amount for sharing. It works well. For our mains we ordered the rigatoni pasta ( very good and tasty) and the halibut. I thought halibut was overpriced because it's $45 it was tasty but on the small side. For a vegetable, we ordered the broccolini. We had to return it because it was way over salted and I couldn't deal with it. Our waiter was a very nice person and tried to be accommodating, but one shortcoming was he really didn't have a good description of the dishes when we were ordering. I'm not sure how they train their employees to explain things but he definitely had a funny way about doing it . Some people next to us order the pizzas and they looked really good. The only problem was I wasn't eating pizza at this present time :-)
google avatar

Jordan A.

Yelp
The aesthetic and ambiance of this place was top notch. They have a ton of indoor seating and outdoor seating. I had the tiara Donna and the noodle was the perfect texture! The flavor was so good. Def on the pricier side but totally worth it!
google avatar

Peyton V.

Yelp
To start, this place has a phenomenal ambiance. The layout, lighting, music, and decorations, really make this place enjoyable and relaxing for an evening dinner. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. We got the Arancini as an appetizer which I strongly recommend. For the main course it was a combination of the Tiara Donna and the pizza and we finished with the sundae as a dessert. The pasta was great but the pizza was a little forgettable. The sundae for dessert was more like just ice cream and the toppings if there were any, weren't noticeable at all. I'll be back to try out some different dishes!
google avatar

Madeline C.

Yelp
Sadly disappointing . I wasn't a fan of how salty everything was. The octopus and the pasta were just too much. The octopus was cooked nicely but way too charred. That is a pet peeve and I don't understand why restaurants still choose to serve items that are burnt and then it I have to scrape off the burnt parts. If there was more lemon it would have made me like the dish more to distract from the saltiness. The ragu rigatoni was underwhelming in flavor and still too salty but not as bad as the octopus. The only dish I didn't have an issue with was the meatball appetizer. It photographed beautifully. Aside from the food, it's a nice restaurant with many tables. I understand there is protocol with where guests should be seated depending on party size and reservations etc., however the restaurant was practically empty and they still chose to seat us at a small table in the middle of the room. Aside from these issues, service was great. I don't know about the food though, especially when factoring in the prices they're charging.

Whitney S.

Yelp
I was so excited to try this place and it met all my expectations. The food was topnotch. I ordered an amazing espresso martini. My friend and I shared the buffalo mozzarella toast and side of crispy brussel sprouts. I ordered for my main course the rigatoni which hit the spot! Our server was very attentive and had a lot of passion for his recommendations. We can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Ana B.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem on the first floor of The Shay hotel. The vibe was amazing; lively but not too loud. Cory, our server, was so attentive and personable. He made fantastic recommendations. My photos don't do these dishes justice, they were phenomenal. The octopus was perfectly crispy and flavorful. The yellow tail crudo tasted so fresh that we inhaled it the moment it was served. The tortellini (not pictured) is to die for! A must order when you go. I can't explain it, it's just delicious. The rigatoni (not pictured) is another must. The ragu is one of the best things that I've ever eaten. Lastly, the desserts; the sundae, chocolate tarte, and pistachio cake. All three are amazing.
google avatar

Trinity G.

Yelp
The ambiance was beautiful and it is a restaurant attached to a hotel so it seemed like the vibe was casual chic. The service was the best part of the restaurant. The entire staff was so kind and continually on it. Our waiter Arman was so great and continually checked on us. Arman made sure we were set throughout the entire night and was super friendly. The food was really yummy I especially enjoyed the wild mushroom arancini and the pasta. We also had the margarita pizza that was super delicious.
google avatar

Frank D.

Yelp
Came here on a busy night. It was a great atmosphere and they had really good music playing. We sat outside under one of the heat lamps, which was needed that night. They have amazing appetizers. We ordered the Yellowtail crudo, cheesy garlic focaccia, and the kale Cesar. Will definitely try and come back to this restaurant. There were other items on the menu I wanted to try so hopefully for the next time.

Yelp
This place was such a pleasant surprise! Tbh we didn't expect much, we came for Valentine's Day and I remember seeing the menu online and was like ooh this would be nice to try. We got a bunch of stuff- we got the squash in the veggies section, octopus for apps, the white lotus pizza, the black truffle cavatelli, and the steak. Next time, I'll probably opt out of the steak and the cavatelli since I think the pasta could've been better but otherwise not bad! The drinks definitely pulled their weight in this review- they're not Death and Co. level, but I felt like they're not your run of the mill cocktails either. We got two drinks each (we usually do just one) because we were pretty happy with the first one and wanted to explore the others. Not sure if I'm itching to go back since we're not super close by, but would be down if we're in the area or wanted an option to offer to out of towners!

Yelp
Really good pasta and vibes. We got calamari and 2 pastas for around $100 with tip. Would come back as the pasta was good

Yelp
My boyfriend and I visited Prima Donna with another couple last night. We called ahead at 9pm to confirm if we would be able to be seated before we arrived. We were told we would be able to be seated when we went. When we arrived, the hostess advised we could sit outside or at a high top table inside. We decided to sit inside but when she seated us, she sat us at a table at the bar. 3 of us ordered pizza and the table wasn't big enough to put all our pizzas on it. We were able to see other diners sitting at a normal table in the middle of the restaurant so we weren't sure why we were seated at the bar. Our waiter (who was also the bartender) noticed how cramped we were at the bar and sat us at an actual booth. It seemed as if the hostess purposefully didn't want to sit us in the dining area. The water recommended specific items from the menu and they were all delicious- (see attached photos). We enjoyed the food but didn't really enjoy how the hostess treated us.

Yelp
New restaurant replacing Etta - same great ambiance and excellent service. They have a great wine and cocktail option. The best thing we got was the vodka pasta which was amazing, and the brussel sprouts app in delicious sauce. The lamb meatballs and white lotus pizza were also good. We only didn't like the focaccia it wasn't as good as other spots. All in all, a really great spot for drinks and food, but not mind blowing amazing as the area has a lot of Italian spots!

Yelp
WOW this restaurant was fantastic. So perfect for a Monday evening with friends. From their octopus to their lobster spaghetti and everything in between it was delicious. I'm so glad this was the restaurant we chose when in town!

Yelp
Food was okay, bad service though Went on a Friday evening last week, place was a ghost town at 630pm, my wife sat at the bar and were the only ones in the bar area. We live close by and having frequented Etta in the past which was always packed, we were surprised to see this We ordered the prawns to start which tasted decent, gnocchiette pasta which was pretty good, and a spicy pepperoni pizza which had decent flavor but the crust was pretty soggy When we got up to leave my wife immediately felt ill and ran to the restroom. She almost vomited but did not, was on the toilet for a while. I then had stomach aches and spent a lot of the rest of the evening and following morning on the toilet as well I called the restaurant that evening when we got home to inform them we got food poisoning from their food. I spoke to a manager and we agreed probably from the prawns. I'm guessing they were old because the restaurant was nearly empty. He checked with the head chef who "said the prawns are fine" even though we clearly got sick from them. They refunded just the prawn dish and not the rest of the meal. I find that a bit ridiculous, we literally got sick from eating there and they would not refund the rest of the $130 for the 2 other dishes and 2 glasses of wine Definitely not going back

Yelp
It's hard not to eat here and think of Etta-the restaurant that was here previously. They have a lot of similar menu items and the decor hasn't changed much. Prima Donna maintains excellent service and the food is good. I will be back to try more of the menu.

Yelp
The steak is the only reason I'm not giving a 3 star review. The steak was absolutely fantastic, 10/10! At $72 you'd expect something great. And the steak delivered. You can know that at least that will be cooked to perfection if you end up coming here. The overall menu was hard to digest, as simple ingredients like pepperoni were replaced with linguica and mozzarella was replaced with something else. Pizza was floppy which was disappointing because they have a brick oven. Salad was solid, nothing special. The steak really saved the meal, it was outstanding. Waiters were nice and friendly. Ambiance is great here. Net net , get the New York steak, avoid the pizza, and enjoy the ambiance.

Yelp
Brussels sprouts!!! Wow, they were in a bed of some type of yogurt, so good! The pizza was also a strong choice. Share a pizza and a side of some greens and you have a light lunch. The parking was super expensive ($18) but I might have missed out on how to validate or where a possible lot might be. Service was great, we were there on a Sunday at 1pm, close to their lunch end time so it was pretty empty with a lot of space. The ambiance is airy and modern and good for a casual lunch or date night.

Yelp
The restaurant is attached to the Shay hotel. It's open, well designed, modern and great ambiance overall. We got there close to closing time but they were so kind to accommodate us. Our meals were delivered timely, staff was so courteous and the food was so delicious. Ask for Anthony, he was amazing!!

Yelp
There were 11 people in our group and we where kindly accepted for a last minute reservation, staff where friendly and professional. We were seating in a nice open space, near the kitchen and another big group, but we didn't feel crowded nor was it noisy. The atmosphere was so delightful with great music and our server Anthony was fantastic, he suggested great dishes to try and they did not disappoint. We ended the evening with delicious drinks, affogato and yummy pistachio cake. We had an amazing time!

Yelp
We ordered the Caesar salad (good-what you would expect), brussel sprouts (great but small portion), broccolini (came out chopped and too much lemon), pepperoni pizza (decent but couldn't hold and eat bc the crust is too thin), lobster pasta (way too sweet and thin spaghetti noodles clumped together). It took an hour for the food to come out and the service was not attentive. It has a good ambiance but I would not recommend or return.

Yelp
Dined in on the second night of opening and I can't remember my servers name but he was excellent! He recommended trying the fried olives - spicy sausage stuffed olives, deep fried went amazing with our cocktails. We had the delicata and buratta, brocolini, green salad which were like nothing our table had seen before. Very unique, the kitchen team has some serious talent! For pastas we had the spicy vodka and the tortellini = amazing! We shared the orata, and were told it was dry aged fish, the skin was shatter crispy amazing and the depth of flavor was super delicious. Can't wait to go back and try the pizzas!

Yelp
So sad my beloved Etta is gone... but this new spot did not disappoint! Flavors were spot on and very comparable to Etta's menu! Ambiance and service still the same as Etta! Will come back again.

Yelp
The ambience is lovely. They are great at refilling your water glass. However, all other steps of service are painfully slow. You should be ready to order as soon as you see your waiter or because you shouldn't expect them to be back at your table for a good twenty to thirty minutes. Our appetizer took another twenty minutes once we ordered it. All told, dinner for two took two hours. Luckily I had my credit card ready when they brought the bill or we might've been in for another half hour. The food itself was expensive, which goes without saying. However, it just wasn't that great. Both the calamari and the Tiara Donna pasta had the same flavor...spicy. I do like spicy but this was good at first and then it just burned. I couldn't finish either one. I only tasted my wife's Orecchiette and I liked it better. But my wife, was also complaining that it was too spicy after a few bites. All in all this might make for a great date night if you have nothing but time and you pack a bottle of Tums.

Yelp
The food is sooo good. I would give 6 stars if I could. The server was also amazing and took care of us. The ambiance was very warm and comfy. It's also a very cute place if you want to take photos inside. Overall great experience.

Yelp
Etta was way better! Now that Etta has left the food here pretty much unimaginative not great. Nothing new, nothing inspiring same old, decorations, same beers it seems like this place needs a total overhaul and someone that's a really good chef.. Etta when it opened was excellent this place is Etta without the flare Please get better wines and better beers on top

Yelp
The ambiance was lovely and the service was great. My mom and I had a reservation for a girls night and loved the brussel sprout appetizer. I also got the vodka pasta, which was okay. The drinks were all so good and the highlight of the night.
