Inside the Dubious World of Olive Oil Labels - Eater

"Inside, the store telegraphed its status in the same way a boutique cigar or wine store would: medium-roast wood shelves and plenty of negative space. The olive oils were stored in small stainless steel drums (fusti), each with a small tap. A small laminated sign hung from each drum featuring varietal information and tasting notes. The shop owner took an empty glass bottle from a wall of them and filled it up with arbequina olive oil. The quality of the olive oils were, in part, guaranteed by a robust standard called Ultra Premium." - Nishant Batsha

Google
A unique find in the village of Hamburg! An attractive, stylish store combined with a cafe. The store has a great selection of quality olive oils and vinegars, as well as spices and other essentials for cooking. The cafe has an interesting assortment of foods, and specializes in healthy dishes (cold pressed juices, custom fresh salads, other unique freshly-prepared items). The staff is friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about what they offer.

Google
One word: Gorgeous. Wow. What a beautiful cafe with clean, inviting & elegant simplicity. Oh, and — Great coffee, too. The staff are very friendly and quick to help and approach to see what I wanted. Filtered water for folks who hang out. Saw people enjoying salads and doing work or just catching up with each other. Looking around, I would have thought I was on an HGTV set or magazine! The decor and interior design are flawless. Love this place and definitely would recommend and stop in again when making my way through Hamburg or on the way via the 90! Don’t miss this gem of a cafe ambience experience and the lovely atmosphere.

Google
Top of the line balsamic vinegars. They offer samplers for every single item sold. We love they aged vinegars. Lots of flavor, no added sugars. The staff is kind and knowledgeable. First time at this exact location but been to many of their others. Will continue to return to this location.

Amazing!!! The best salad I’ve had in a long time (fig salad). My husband got a wrap (custom) and he was very happy too. I drove back the next day for seconds. The cold pressed juice is delicious. I had the watermelon, strawberry, raspberry, and mint juice. It was called the Hydration Twist I think. I can’t wait to go back!

They had fantastic service and incredible food. Plus, the atmosphere is fantastic, very modern, clean and rustic. The Southwestern Grain Bowl was amazing!! This is a great spot to grab a bite to eat, and also to take out.

Yelp
Clean welcoming displays are uniform and have a wide variety of items / flavors . I literally used fig balsamic vinegar to help me lose 100 pounds . No oil needed it is delicious ! I go through a bottle every month ! I marinate with it and put it directly on my salads every night !

Yelp
Very cute tables and chairs outside for seating. Huge inside and great seating. Menu is healthy and fresh. Tons of plants and clean tables here. Breakfast toast was very good. There are tons of oils and benefits you can sample. Very interesting infusions in the vinegars.

Yelp
I love Prima! Not just for food but for awesome gifts. The seasonal bowls are always a hit. I especially love the winter bowl with roasted sweet potato. Pop in for gifts for all occasions. Try the sample bottles of oils!

Yelp
My absolute favorite place for lunch in Hamburg, I would go here every days of the week (and have at times). My go to lunch is the Beet and Walnut Grain Bowl, and everything I've eatten here has been fresh and delicious. I love the owners, they are super nice people and very active in the community.

Yelp
Stopped in to check out the new Village eatery this past Saturday. They've only been open a short time, so it was busy! The menus are available at the front counter and since there was a bit of a line, I was able to browse it while I waited. My friend ordered the sausage and potato bowl and I decided to make my own. When making your own, you get a plentiful amount of options to chose from. Some come with an up charge, so be conscious of you are adding a lot of premium ingredients. I went with mixed greens, quinoa, roasted beets, grapes, goat cheese, apples, red cabbage pickled onions and chicken. Total was $11 for all those ingredients! The salad was HUGE and really filling. The ingredients were all super fresh. I went with a pineapple and chipotle dressing. It was quite spicy and at times overpowered my salad. Next time I will go with something a little milder. So happy to have another wonderful restaurant to enjoy in the Village of Hamburg!

Yelp
Love this place! The feel is so cozy and the food so tasty! I'm so happy to see so many vegan, plant-based options here. I've only been here a couple times but definitely looking forward to trying out more things on the menu.

Yelp
I really love what Prima did with the space- white walls, wood tables, a very open feeling. To be honest, it was almost a little too trendy and made me feel not cool enough to be there. But nonetheless, I had lunch there last Friday. I ordered the Southwestern chicken & wild rice bowl but had tofu subbed in for the chicken. At first they wanted to charge me an additional $2.50 for the tofu until the manager came over and agreed to consider it an even swap since I wasn't getting the chicken. The mix of ingredients was really tasty. My fault for not noticing sour cream was included in the description as I had to scrape it off the top of my bowl because I cannot have any dairy. That said, the bowl was still delicious. Tofu was cripsy; avocado, corn, and beans were very fresh. The wild rice combo was different, in a good way. And the dressing was deliciously vegan, bonus! My lunchmates ordered the strawberry hill salad and loved the combination of fruit and other toppings. The place was really busy for lunch and we ended up leaving a little earlier than we would have liked so a young couple with children could have our table. Looks like they may need to expand! First impression after paying at the counter was that they were a little overpriced. However, when the bowls came out I changed my mind. If you go to Panera or a chain you'll pay more and get less in return. So I felt the lunch was worth it.

Yelp
Unfortunately wasn't very impressed with my visit here. The space is beautiful and clean. They have great and healthy food choices, but unfortunately my visit just fell short of my expectations. I thought the staff was quite disorganized during the lunch time bustle. The bowls were getting mixed up with customers in line and two had to be remade because they belonged to the wrong person. My salad was made correctly, but the staff member didn't really push any of the greens down so the salad itself was very small for the price. I liked the juice I got, but that's pretty much where the positives ended for that visit.

Yelp
Visiting my hometown looking for a healthy lunch option. Prima is located in a mini-mall inside an old building and co-located with other boutique shoppes. Rather spartan but efficient seating and decor meets the need. I ordered the Warm Beet, Walnut and Wild rice bowl and added tofu and avocado. Very satisfying and filling. Tofu had a nice crunch and slightly spicy flavor which complemented the beets and goat cheese. Maple dressing added the perfect accent of sweetness.

Yelp
I've been to the cafe three times. I am sad to say each time has been more disappointing than the prior. The first couple of times I ordered a farro salad and kindly asked for no cheese and each time, you got it, cheese. This led to food waste and my salad needing to be remade. Today I stopped in and ordered the peanut butter banana toast and immune booster juice. Let me just say the toast was nearly inedible. The "peanut butter" was thick and salty without tasting anything like peanut butter and was the texture of tuna fish. This led me to ask the counter employee of what was in the spread. She told me "just peanuts". The bread was the only saving grace; soft with a cinnamon taste. And as always, the juice is delicious and the only reason I gave two stars.

THE BEST salads! So many topics to choose from & the dressings are amazing! I'm hooked

Yelp
We came on an extremely busy time on a Monday. So busy that the owner even walked out and apologized to each quest personally who had to sit to actually wait to order due to a backup in the kitchen. My boyfriend and I practically ordered one of each category off the menu: Açaí Bowl, Salmon Salad, Spicy Watermelon Juice, Chicken Sausage Quiche, and Butternut Squash Soup--- everything was fresh and fantastic! Upon leaving the owner felt bad we had to sit and wait 10 minutes to order, followed by waiting for each of our orders to come out at different times that she offered us complimentary juice to go. VERY good customer service. We will be back.

Yelp
Super clean are delicious! I am a pescatarian so I am glad there is another restaurant in Hamburg that has vegetarian/vegan options. I will definitely be coming here again!

Yelp
When Ordering a salad you get to choose up to I believe it's six ingredients after that each item is extra. The six is good for me but if you eat meat that too is extra. I love the chia seed pudding it's my favorite. I also like the vegan cacao candy bars. While I am there I pick up my oil and vinegars for home use too.

Yelp
Really enjoyed my visit here today. Employees were very helpful and kind, really on top of things. As soon as we were finished with a plate they were there to take it away. The menu is great with fresh healthy options. Loved that everything is eco friendly (smoothies, juices all come in glass and no styrofoam for take out containers). Everything my group ordered was delicious. I added chicken to my salad and it was so fresh and tender. Hydration twist juice was ready to go in the cooler and tasted great. Dragon fruit berry smoothie was awesome. My mom loved the dressing that came with her salad. And to be have the option to make your salad into a wrap is so nice. Couldn't be happier with my trip there today, can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Living in the village of Hamburg, Prima Oliva Cafe was a breath of fresh air from the normal bar and bar food atmosphere that so many places in the village have. The grab and go aspect was much needed, as well as some truly healthy options! I always get a premade salad; they're awesome! But if you're into make your own, there are tons of options! I also love the smoothie bowls and the toppings that come with those - so good! The fresh juices and kombucha are a huge plus too! The only thing that throws me is the credit card system they use. It's a little slow and misleading. But that doesn't stop me from coming back time and time again! Not to mention, their oils are incredible too!!

Yelp
WE finally got back food is fresh and great def stop in you won't regret it.Had fresh bowls also salads were tasty.

Yelp
Horrible customer service. Came here to study because its the only place I can eat due to severe dietary restrictions, but was told to leave due to capacity limitations. I would have completely understood if they had a lot of customers, but I was one of two customers in the entire place. Ridiculous.

Yelp
I love this place! They always have a fresh new selection of healthy foods and I'm obsessed with their juice! The olive oil is fantastic as well and I love the idea of the punch card for the oils. If you like healthy options go here, you won't be disappointed

Yelp
We stopped by for lunch today. The southwest chicken grain bowl was delicious! The immune booster juice was great too.I love that everything is fresh and made to order. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Really great food and amazing quality but the prices are up there for the portion sizes

Jennifer F.

Yelp
Food is healthy and fresh. Many of their dishes incorporate their oils and vinegars which are outstanding. The juices are excellent and come in fun mason jars. Nice ambiance, fast service.

Yelp
I've gone to this place a few times.. the workers are ALWAYS snobby and rude with attitudes. Makes we wonder why the place is always dead. I liked the salads until yesterday when it made me severely ill. I also decided I wouldn't go back regardless after dealing with rude employees again but that will be the last time. I'm just completely done with this place. It's pricey for what you get as well. $13 for a salad with a little bit of chicken. I can get a bowl at Chipotle for $8 which is what I'll do from now on.

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Generally speaking the food and presentation are well done. The service, though, is painfully slow each and every time I've been in. It took over 25 minutes to prepare a smoothie most recently. In addition, I ordered the 32 oz container of soup to go, in which it was filled less than 2/3 of the way and was primarily broth. I keep going back hoping that it was just a fluke and each time adds to my disappointment.

Dan B.

Yelp
So happy to have another wonderful restaurant to enjoy in Hamburg! Love the premium ingredients used! I swear they are grown in the land of golden toilet bowls! A must try is the drinks made with the cold fusion pressed juice machine. Its great you guys got a outstanding review from Suck Up buffalo, nice job. Only downfall of this place is that its located right in the middle of the village where there is no parking and A bad crosswalk design which is plopped right in the roundabout! Go there for a shake then hit the BBQ place up down the street for a half pound pulled pork sandwich, mmmmm its ohhhhh so good. Ill be seeing you soon for one of those shakes.

Nate S.

Yelp
Prima Olivia? More like prima oh-leave-ya damn house to get some of these delicious salads and rotisserie chicken. Good stuff.

Charles H.

Yelp
food was good....would like to see ice offered at water station...and you seem to have a little problem with fruit flies....look up on google how to make a home made trap water , sugar vinigar, dish soap

Mike D.

Yelp
I get all my oils and vinegar here! Great selection of Extra Virgin Olive Oils that change with the seasons. They also help with recipe ideas and they have a huge selection of organic spices! My salads have never tasted so good!
