Prime 47- Indy's Steakhouse

Met here with friends for PRI, nice atmosphere, friendly staff did a great job of serving 12 of us. Lots of choices on menu, decided on the chicken Parm for myself, my only complaint is cold plates suck the heat right out of the meal. Lobster Mac n Cheese was excellent, as was the salmon.

We had a great evening of celebration with the group I was with. This place had the vibe of an old school steakhouse. Its nestled right in downtown Indianapolis next to Lucas Oil Stadium and Gainbridge Fieldhouse. This evening was opening night for the Pacers. Our food was really good. I had some French onion soup. Our appetizer was the signature spicy shrimp cocktail that had just enough kick from the horseradish cocktail sauce. We shared some wagyu A5, a 34 oz tomahawk ribeye and a huge porterhouse. We shared family style the cream style corn, roasted carrots, and lobster Mac.and cheese. It was all very good!!

My husband and I went after the Colts came and it was delicious! Service was terrific too. Will definitely be back soon!

The food was delish. Our server was so fun. Our group had a good time. My one critique for this upscale restaurant, the ladies room needs addressed. One toilet seat would slide and the other the whole toilet was unstable. 3 ladies at our table and we all 3 spoke on it. We were a bit surprises by that. Otherwise the experience was pretty good :)

Everything we ordered were amazing. Our server, Omar, was very nice and made our dining experience better.

We were in town for a huge conference and while considering where to make reservations, we chose Prime 47 over Capital Grille for the uniqueness of eating local. That proved to be an excellent decision! Service was excellent here! Our server (forgot his name, taller slim guy with mustache and we sat near the kitchen) was spot-on and knew how to take care of a larger party. He was always nearby, ready to help and his suggestions were welcomed, taken, and perfect! Their steaks were incredible! We tried a tomahawk, filet, and Delmonico and that was the best Delmonico I’ve ever had… the tomahawk was incredibly flavorful as well! Sides were great too… mac & cheese was so very tasty, so was the creamed spinach and mashed potatoes! Save room for dessert! They have an amazing bread pudding!! Their wine list was nicely done and it’s always great when you see the Wine Spectator’s seal/award on it! Nice prices on their wines too! Overall, this was soooo much better than the St Elmo chain (and Harry & Izzy's) excellent experience… We’ll definitely be back!

The service was really good and the food was even better. Had a tomahawk steak which was cooked beautifully. The French onion soup was really good as well. Calamari appetizer was the best I've ever had!

My husband and I had dinner here to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary in September. The staff were all extremely courteous and welcoming, and we were treated very well. The steaks we had (me=filet, him=porterhouse) were good, decent cuts and done to our satisfaction. Nothing to write home about. The ambience here was pretty business casual, with a wide variety of attire and types of groups who were dining. We enjoyed the setting immensely - the old building and architecture were really neat! There was a basketball game that night, right across the street at Gainbridge, so our view out the corner window was fantastic.

This place is amazing!! The food is to die for. The staff are always so wonderful and friendly and the ambiance is just perfect. The smooth, perfectly lighted environment is perfect. Definitely 10 out of 10!

So we normally go to Harry & Izzy's for a steak night treat, but they were pretty booked up, so we thought we'd try Prime 47. Long story short, we'll be sticking with Harry & Izzy's/St Elmo's. 1) Ambience was nonexistent. They had a party reserved for the main bar and restaurant, so they sat us in the room to the left when you walk in. Basically a storage room that was converted to extra seating from what I could tell. Not a single picture on the wall. 2) The shrimp cocktail tried to be like H&l, but didn't compare. The shrimp had a brownish tint and didn't taste very fresh. 3) The steaks were excellent! No complaints there or with the service overall. 4) I added seared scallops to go with my steak and the two l received (for $30) were overcooked, rubbery and pretty flavorless. 5) Tuna poke app was "ok". Again, just didn't taste fresh. Tasted more like mall poke. Disappointed...

Our party of 12 co-workers visited Prime 47 on a Monday evening. Reservations are strongly recommended. Our service was top notch from beginning to end, especially for our large group. I noticed several other groups also being well taken care of. I very much enjoyed my old fashioned, meatball appetizer and filet (cooked medium). The table bread was delicious too and I had a hard time not eating it all. Prime 47 seems to have been around for a bit of time. The decor was simple. I appreciated the high ceilings and that our table wasn't on top of another.

Went here last week with a group of friends for a birthday celebration before hockey game, never again. Starting off, the place smelled like a restroom, and the bread was too hard. Next come the entres, my friend ordered the $140 tomahawk and it was cooked "well done". The mac n cheese was bland with no flavor. I ordered the airline chicken and it was... and I'm not joking... the saltiest food I've ever eaten. Couldn't finish it. This kind of place focuses more on aesthetics than it does quality of food. A place for pictures that say "I have money but don't actually have taste"

They use frozen French fries for their sides. I spent $124 on wagyu steak and got frozen French fries as my side. Manager, Lisa L, says they can't make in-house homemade french fries as well as the frozen version. i wonder if the owners agree? i hope they call me. scott. 716-388-8410

It was an awkward experience with an amazing steak. We were celebrating a milestone birthday and were placed on a high top next to a pole near the entrance. From this viewpoint we could tell there was not a dress code as people with T-shirts and jeans were entering without issue. For the price point, we expected some level of decorum The manager walked by several times without asking how we were. The restaurant was half full. The appetizer bread came out hard, was not free and without plates. No issues with service or the food thereafter. The 16oz Strip with perfect and the birthday cookie was a nice touch.

Prime 47 is a very solid steakhouse right in the heart of downtown Indy. I sat at the bar, and the bartender was fantastic--super knowledgeable about the menu. Based on her recommendation, I went with the Delmonico steak, and it did not disappoint. I also ordered a not-so-small side of loaded mashed potatoes, which were the perfect complement. With so many steakhouse options in downtown Indy, Prime 47 is definitely a great choice to add to the mix. Highly recommend!

Favorite place to be in Downtown Indy! The staff is so friendly and fun! The food is always cooked to perfection and you can see the love and passion that has gone into making this place great!

Late night meal after a Pacers win! We sat in the bar(high top). It's always crowded and people are pumped from the game. I had my normal lemon drop martini and Chris N. makes an amazing one. I swear you could drink ten of them and never know you are even drinking alcohol. They are just that good! He also knows his bourbon. We started the meal with Fritto Miso(calamari, shrimp, and peppers) and a Caesar salad. Salad has white anchovies and is quite a large portion. I chose the pan seared salmon tonight with the dill sauce and fried capers. I also had it topped with cippolini onions. They are so flavorful. Great on a steak as well. My date ordered the lobster Mac and cheese for his meal(it's a side but definitely enough to make a meal). Staff is always friendly and takes great care of us. I love to eat here for date night and definitely after a game. Steaks are excellent and finished with tallow. If they have scallops on the menu you can't go wrong.

Birthday dinner success! Prime 47 Indy is exactly what you imagine when thinking of an upscale experience. The environment is formal, classy and attentive. The staff clearly works hard and are informed on the menu. Our waters were never under half full the whole time. Our servers Shelby and (Audrey?? Im so sorry for forgetting) were wonderfully prepared and friendly. The meats are brought out for explanation and visuals before you order. Good luck trying to decide between your appetizers and sides. I recommend coming hungry because you will need the room!

We had a workplace holiday dinner here at Prime 47. They are located in downtown Indianapolis and there are multiple parking garages available for pay. You can also park on the streets if you have any space available which most of the time you don't find any. The service was wonderful here and the ambience was business casual. This place is family friendly and business casual. They have great steak options but less to no vegetables or vegetarian options available. The dessert options are great. This is a good place for business meetings.

In a city with many high end steakhouses this place is just ok. It has a look and feel of a restaurant that was set up in the lobby of a hotel. (Because that is what it is). Cocktails at the bar are good and service is friendly, but just doesn't have that classic steakhouse feel.

It's fine. My old fashioned was comparable to one from a major chain restaurant with a large orange slice and crushed ice. Sides and my crab cake were alright. Good, just didn't knock my socks off. 3 stars because it was so pricey.

The half baked dessert was to die for! I won't be sharing with the table next time! The filet was superb as well!

Celebrated our one year anniversary here last night. I had high hopes, dressed up so cute, and was so excited! Service for this type of restaurant was way below expectations. I saw other tables getting catered to, shown all the meats in a little presentation, explained things, suggested items by the staff. None of that happened with our server. I can't remember her name, but Sierra was working with her. Sierra took better care of us than the main chic. Our main server was aloof the whole night. Didn't suggest anything or go over anything, even though she knew we had never been there before. We ordered bread and it came out with our meal instead of before hand. She hardly checked on us. When we didn't order any alcohol it's as if we were then put on the back burner. Such a disappointment. On to the food. Meatballs we're amazing! I loved the world tour, honestly couldn't tell it was Waygu though. But it was tender and delish. Green beans were under seasoned and lukewarm. The au gratin potatoes were fabulous!! Hubby really liked the cream corn. They gave us a cookie on the house or celebrating. And they even did a special request on the menu too. I thought it was very sweet and fun. The cookie dessert we didn't care for. Honestly tasted bland. The atmosphere was weird. People wearing T-shirt's and jeans, people bringing their infant children. Just not what I expected of what I thought was a high end establishment.

We made reservations at Prime 47 for my birthday celebration, and took advantage of their valet parking. The attendants were very professional and speedy. We were very pleased with that. Once inside I took a quick double take to make sure we were going in the correct door, and we were. It's to the right. The hostess was smiling and pleasant, and the initial feel was that this place was very nice. Being taken to our table I was a little taken back by the three guys in their early twenties walking by in their hooded sweatshirts and jeans, but I chuckled and moved on. Armando, our waiter was so so so wonderful. Knowledgeable. Professional. Humorous. Just the perfect package in a wait staff. I miss the days when people took pride in this job, and his shows. His team member (Jordan...I think. Sorry if that's wrong) was spectacular as well. Hubs went with the world tour wagyu, with a salad, and I had lamb lollipops, and the lobster bisque to start. Saying the food was fabulous doesn't do it justice. This is the kind of place you go for an experience. The place a couple or small group go to enjoy their time with others, share a bottle of delicious wine, laugh and relax without feeling like you need to shovel your salad down so your main entree doesn't come before you're finished. The large photos on the wall of what this space looked like many years ago was just amazing, and a perfect topic of discussion. As it was my birthday I was presented with the cookie with ice cream, and whoa mama it was sweet!! My few bites I allowed myself were heaven! Hubs gladly ate the rest lol. Before I finish I want to address the bread. It's wonderful. The two options of butter is a nice touch. I read another review saying "they are as good as O'Charlies" and I choked on my spit. They are superb however to compare anything in this restaurant to something from O'Charlies is an atrocity. We hope to see you soon Armando!!!

I went for a work event with a large party. There were probably 15 of us. We were at a table at the top of the stairs but not in the private room. The server was a guy probably in his late 40s with glasses. He had a great personality and he was very knowledgeable about the cocktail list, wine list and food menu. There were several appetizers that came out to start. I tried the meatballs, shrimp cocktail, crab cakes and mussels. No one was interested in the mussels so I ate an entire appetizer on my own. They came in a red broth with is a little different than I'm use to. The chorizo was good too. The Harvest Salad seemed like something different with grilled plum so I gave it a try. It was good but nothing special. It's not often you see elk on a menu so I tried it medium rare. It was underwhelming. The portion of elk was pretty small. The name on the menu is Double Cut Elk Chop. There were two lollies on each cut and there were two cuts. I'd be shocked if it was 6oz of protein without the bone. I've had lamb chops twice as big as these elk chops. The red wine bordelaise was okay. It's almost like a sweet gravy. My wife got the 8oz filet medium rare. She couldn't finish it so I tried her scraps. It wasn't the best steak I've ever but it was better than most. I think everyone was too full to have dessert so we called it quits after the entrees. The service staff did a great job keeping the wine glasses full and making sure everyone was taken care of. I couldn't give 5 stars because of the elk but everything else was great.

My partner and I had the luxury of celebrating our anniversary at Prime 47 this evening! We made reservations through Open Table, so the staff knew we were celebrating in advance and greeted us as such when we arrived at the host stand. Every single staff member we interacted with was incredibly kind, from the hostess to the people refilling our water to our server, Chris, and his assistant. I have to really commend Chris for his hospitality and professionalism; he could have easily brushed us off (we're young and were using a gift certificate, so we've gotten the "bad tipper" treatment at other establishments), but he was just as attentive and kind to us as every other table. We started off with the table bread. The rolls were standard but good, and the brown sugar cinnamon butter was delish. We also ordered the house margarita and peach peony--both were fantastic! The margaritas had a great sweet/sour balance and the peach peony packed a smooth, floral punch. I was torn between the filet mignon and the lamb lollipops, and Chris weighed the pros and cons of each dish out for me. I was so glad I went with the lamb; the dish was beautifully plated, wasn't gamey like some lamb can be, and was just really well composed. I could put that mustard sauce on anything! My partner did order the 8oz filet, which really needs an accompaniment on top to bring in flavor. He went with the caramelized onions and was pleased. We split the jalapeño au gratin which wasn't very spicy, but it was all kinds of creamy and cheesy! Because it was our anniversary, we also received a cookie and ice cream on the house. It was a very sweet gesture and served as a great end to our meal. The vanilla ice cream had a pleasant hint of lemon to it. Overall a fantastic experience. The food is great, the service is even better, and the restaurant itself is beautiful. Thank you for making our anniversary so special!

First I will say that I like many, we are not huge steakhouse people. We have a talented cook in our family who can make an excellent steak, so we usually go for that option. That being said, Prime 47 is a great restaurant. The food itself is very god, but the appeal to us has more to do with great service and the ambience- it is a gorgeous spot. We enjoyed our steak, but I think we enjoyed our sides more. The Brussel Sprouts are delicious.

Food was amazing! Service was amazing! Definitely recommend! Atmosphere was great! Best filet I've ever had!

We were in Indy for a convention and landed at Prime 47 for a late dinner. The restaurant was busy when we arrived. At first glance, the impression you get is that of a high end steak house - the old architecture of the building and waiters in white coats. But that is where high end ends. While still settling into our seats, our waiter appears and asks if we want any appetizers, which we defer until we can look over the menu. Then, poof, he was gone. Once we decided, we couldn't find our primary waiter, but asked the assistant who was introduced to us as we were seated. She was lovely, but not able to take an order. Ten minutes later, our waiter appeared, and we placed our order. I admit, I am not a steak eater. I ordered the salmon, which came solo on its plate with a dab of sauce and a sprinkle of capers. For $52, you except a little flare, not the lonely small tail end piece of salmon sitting center on a solitary plate. And the salmon was dry. My dinner companion ordered steak and a lobster tail. The lobster was fine, but the steak was cold. It took another minute to summon our waiter, who apologized, then brought back a plate and put the steak, including the few smaller pieces which had originally been cut into bites, and returned to the kitchen. A 30-second round in the microwave, and the plate returned. Yes, the steak was now warm, and also cooked well and a little rubbery from the microwave. If you are going to be a white coat steak house, it takes more than wearing the uniform. Attentive service, pristine visual presentation, and excellence in food preparation are required. Prime 47 has a ways to go.

Amazing seafood, steak, drinks, and appetizers. Truly everything we ordered we enjoyed. The restaurant is an old bank and the wine cellar was the vault which is very cool. Our waiter was helpful, kind, and very knowledgeable!

Came here for date night. It's been awhile and I Honestly couldn't renew if I liked it or not. This time I was paying attention! First off, they are located in the heart of downtown and have valet. Perfect! It's $20 but in my mind totally worth it. We had reservations and we were seated right away. Our reservation was at 6:15 and it wasn't overly busy but by the time we left it was packed. They played nice music like easy listening which is great for a nice dinner. Our server was fantastic, very knowledgeable and extremely accommodating. They have a very nice selection of liquor and fantastic cocktail menu. My food was great (filet sliders) and my husband said it was fantastic as well. Cooked to perfection. Am I a fan? Yep very much so and adding it to the rotation!

When two stars (according to yelp) means "Could've been better" this truly is the case with our experience. A party of 10, business dinner, 6 steaks were undercooked and cool to the touch. All were taken back, apps refreshed and most came back either close or overdone, I (as the host) NEVER complain unless things are this egregious, but one of my customers pushed back from the table and spoke to the server. He may have gone too far with his "this isint Applebees" comment was a bit over the top, but hey, he's jersey. A round of shots no one asked for and two "half baked" cookies were delivered and I have to say, this was so absolutely disgusting, people said it took the poor experience and made it worse. I concur. $1600 for dinner and I didn't eat my steak. I will say the bright spot was the Meatball app, that was quite good. To be further honest, I would have delayed this review and tried to contact them directly, but they have no means of contact other than event planning. I WILL update this if they reach out. A few others in my industry had dinners there this week and with similar experiences.

The lamb lollipops are so dreamy. We started off with the shrimp cocktail and a house salad. Then for main we tried the lamb lollipops and the Delmonico Ribeye. Food came out very quickly. Our waiter was great and professional. However, usually they will tailor the experience to the occasion but they did not do anything special for the birthday we were celebrating. We made reservations through open table in advance.

Our experience couldn't have gone more poorly at Prime 47. My wife ordered an 8 oz sirloin, medium. I ordered the New York Strip, medium rare. We got Mac and Cheese and Brussels Sprouts to share. Immediately we realized our steaks were overdone by two degrees. My wife's was well done, and mine was medium well. I normally hate to send something back, but when you're paying 60+ for each steak a la carte, I expect them to be cooked as ordered, so we sent them back. We started to eat our Mac and cheese (it was really good!) and our Brussels Sprouts. The sprouts had not had the stems cut off and were nearly inedible. We actually found several whole stems tossed in for good measure (see pic). When our steaks came back out, we were brought fresh sides, but this time, our steaks were egregiously undercooked by a factor of two degrees! My wife's was rare and mine was blue! We ate what we could, because I was not about to send them back a second time. Our waiter then handed us a dessert menu and told us dessert was on the house, but then never came back and they brought us a dessert without us ever having actually picked what we wanted. (Fortunately, it was good). Oh, the table bread was also good. I don't know if they were training a new staff tonight or what, but we would have been better off going to Outback and saving $150!

First time here and it was amazing! Very good service. The food was delicious. The wedge salad was big enough to split. Wish it had more dressing vs. Crumbles and maybe some pecans. I got the lamb lollipops and they were to die for!! They came out a little under cooked but I sent them back to cook a little more. I usually hate doing this but my server was happy to do it so it made me feel better. Our food took a little bit to come out and there is no bread service. The lamb came with a mustard tarragon sauce and mashed potatoes which made the dish that much better! So much flavor! Ready to go back to try the filet

I love this place. Anytime I get a chance to return I am all over it. First off, Christopher and his many years of service, you are just a great person. The food. I always get the filet which is perfect.

First time at Prime 47 a known steak house with a high price tag in a historic building! Apps: We ordered the coconut shrimp that was tossed in a Asian sauce and they were sooooo good, wish we ordered two orders of these. I let my coworker order the tuna poke even though I knew I wasn't going to be a fan because I don't care for raw tuna, it wasn't too bad it was nice to try something new! Libations: She had a glass of sparkling wine and I had a peach sangria (AMAZING) Entrees: we both ordered filets and my steak was amazing and topped with the garlic Parmesan Crust and cooked to perfection my coworkers on the other hand was cooked rare and we both ordered our steaks cooked medium. She had to send the steak back twice because it was so rare in the center it looked cool to touch. We were informed the chef complained that we're "ruining the steak" which was funny because regardless of your personal feelings it's the chefs job to prepare the dish to the customers liking (almost wish she didn't tell us he said that, but glad she did!) We both shared the Brussel sprouts as they're served family style and they were okay, they had a really sweet sauce on them that I didn't care for too much. Deserts: I'm a HUGE fan of bread pudding but what arrived looked like a blonde, it was dry and I took 3 bites. The cheesecake was so thick that I immediately had to drink water to wash it down. The server noticed we only took one bite of the cheesecake and took it off without us even asking. The 4 star rating is for the service, both servers were absolutely amazing and my steak was good I would definitely order it again.

I feel like I short shifted myself of the maximum Prime 47 experience because I got my food to go. Not that my takeout order wasn't great. It was! But the restaurant is beautiful inside, and I would have liked to enjoy a nice meal while sitting at a table, eating with silverware, like a normal person. Instead, I ate my lobster mac and cheese on my lap in my car, like the uncouth person that I am. But you know what? Even lap lobster mac and cheese from Prime 47 is better than a lot of other kinds of food not eaten on a lap. So I think I did OK for myself with this decision, in the end. The mac and cheese was melty and gooey and cheesy, with big chunks of lobster throughout. The portion was huge, and honestly I could not finish it -- it was just so much mac and cheese. But if you love lobster mac and cheese and you are really hungry, this is the place to get it. The parking situation can be a little iffy around this area, because there isn't much of it in the immediate area of the restaurant, and the parking that is available by the restaurant is street parking. Fortunately, I was able to get a spot on the street around the corner, but I imagine that during games or during the weekend, parking might be more difficult to find.

Darn good. Best steak that I've had in a long time. I'm removing a star though because of the prices. $70 for a ribeye with no sides?!? Yikes. Service was good, but a little slower than other high-end steak restaurants in town.

Went here for a birthday party with approximately 8 people. The service was a little slow especially because the restaurant was no where near full but the food was pretty good! Got the 12 oz ribeye and truffle parm fries. Both a little on the salty side (which I like). The prickly pear martini was also good and not too strong tasting. Very pricey though!

Came here for a business meal and they took great care of us! My favorites were the lobster bisque (seriously perfection, I only wish I had more), filet mignon, and lobster mac and cheese. I added one of the options of crab onto the filet migon and it really made the dish for me. Would come back!

We went there for a Formal Business Dinner. They have great wine and Steak options. We were a party of 5. Two of us got the Japanese Wagyu, one of us got the Filet Mignon 8oz, one got the salmon and I got the Chicken Marsala. The starters we had were: Tuna Poke, Calamari & Coconut Shrimp. I liked Coconut shrimp the best. For our sides we got Asparagus, Carrots and Baked Potato. We had two bottles of Pinot Noir for the table and it was light and good. The service was excellent and they have Valet parking available too. The place was very nice to sit and talk. We had made a reservation ahead of time and we were there from 6 till 10.00pm! Would highly recommend this place.

The garlic parmesan fries. Let me repeat myself, THE GARLIC PARMESAN FRIES!! They were incredible! Ironically we ordered 2 orders and the waiter said, no, trust me you only need 1! Went before the pacers game, had the lobster ravioli, 16oz ny strips and the fries. The steaks were cooked fabulously with a great char. Was very impressed with the service ambience and the drinks. Highly recommend, this is not a shoot I didn't get into Harry and Izzy's or at. Elmo's, this is a yes I got into prime 47! You won't regret it!

This was my second visit here during a business conference. Each time I've been, the service has been excellent and the food definitely matched the service. While this isn't the best steakhouse I've been to, it is definitely in the top 10. This go around, I had the 12 filet with the truffle butter. It was exceptionally good and the truffle butter was well worth the extra cost. The steak was a tad undercooked for medium rare, it was still very good. As always, the restaurant was quite busy, so the restaurant was a tad bit loud but not uncommon for a busy restaurant. If you enjoy higher end steakhouses, this is worth the time, but make sure to get a reservation.

Prime 47 was a great spot for our group of 16. We made reservations months in advance and this place did not disappoint. The highlight of my meal was the shrimp cocktail and scallops. The cocktail sauce that went with the shrimp was fire! Service was excellent as expected. I would recommend prime 47 for a big or small party. The only thing that held me back from a 5 was the steak. The steak was great don't get me wrong but I have had better.

Waaaaaaaaay too expensive for the food. Service is very nice, however. Ambiance is akin to an old cigar room.

Prime 47 downtown Indy Nahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Never again The rumors were true Prolly one of the worst chefs in the city & the service was piss poor. With respect one of our servers last night was super nice but the other was rude as fuck. Nobody's steak was cooked to order. Not 1 I felt embarrassed because it was my friends birthday .....they didn't care. They go out their way to remind you that they're not associated with the Prime 47 in Carmel. Which is a good thing for Carmel not the other way around the way they make it seem. They should shut down for a few weeks & go train/shadow at prime Carmel to see how it's done. This is quite possibly one of the worst steak restaurants I've ever been too in the 60+ countries I've traveled to. No joke no exaggeration. The horrible food prep & service made me feel like I got robbed when it was time to pay. I will never be back. Even if downtown is more convenient I'll drive out to Carmel & get racially profiled by police before going back here If you're planning to go here.....Don't. Go to the Carmel location (that they're not associated with instead ) Like think about how crazy that is "hey that steak restaurant that's top 3 in the city food & service wise in Carmel that shares the same name as us - were not related". Ohhhhhhh buddy I can CLEARLY see.

First time to Prime. I've been to most of the other steakhouses downtown and I feel confused after my meal tonight. The bone in dry aged ribeye was bland and cold when it came out. For it being dry aged it had 0 flavor sadface. The meatballs and sides were solid. Overall it's meh.

Delicious steaks and friendly attentive service. Prime 47 was a great experience for our large party and the private room was nice and secluded in their upstairs area. Would recommend. The ribeye was tasty and had topped with crab imperial. Definitely an over the top over but why not? Also the lobster Mac n cheese was mouthwateringly good.

My husband has officially named Prime 47 his favorite place. We come here several times a year and always to the downtown location. I've had my birthday dinner here, anniversary dinners, hosted a friend's birthday dinner in their private dining area, and countless date nights. I've always been seated immediately and received wonderful service with every single dining experience. My husband loves his steaks always come out correctly. I love the quality of food is consistent. I never worry about ordering something and its not palatable. We ordered the bread and coconut shrimp for appetizers recently. Let's just say, you have to try the bread. The ambiance is always romantic, which makes it perfect for date night. Put Prime 47 in your dining rotation!

Wonderful food, wonderful staff, great atmosphere. My husband and I visited Prime47 downtown Indianapolis for our 14Th wedding anniversary and wow! we are happy we did. The food was great, of great quality... the staff was absolutely wonderful, they also had great teamwork with servicing their customers... lastly the food was phenomenal, especially the lamb lollipops... I encourage you to visit Prime47, I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Thank you Prime47 for a wonderful experience.

Great place. I had a perfect steak with wonderful side. The cheese grits were a stand out favorite. The staff was very friendly and attentive. It has an upscale feel, as you would expect for this level of food.

Amazing service, not so amazing food. I ordered a filet cooked medium and a baked potato. The steak was overcooked and a bit hard..only ate half of it. I took the baked potato to go and...turns out it was raw. I went to eat it the next day and it was rock hard, couldn't even put a fork into it even after heating it up. Not a good food experience at all!! Best part was our wonderful server!

First time here!!!! When I say it didn't disappoint at all! First Ladies/hostess were wrongful. Then we got seated, Jamie our waitress was one of the best waitress I've ever had. Most of us ordered the lamb chops, I'll give them 4 out 5. Then we got mushrooms, Brussel sprouts, sea bass, wedge lettuce, lobster Mac and cheese. Think only thing needed help was lobster Mac and cheese, never been able find restaurant to create it so that I want more! The sea bass was freaking delicious! Not mention my sister got tortellini, delicious i had two bites. Drinks were awesome too. Lemon drops and old fashion what o ordered! Overall loved the restaurant and our waitress was awesome!!! Valet parking, really didn't see mask required!

Went to dinner with my daughter on a free night. It was nice to relax and enjoy a great dining experience. Our server and assistants were very involved and happy to accommodate our choices. We started with coconut shrimp. Very good even without the sauce you've come to expect. We also split a beat salad. Amazing! And, split the filet and scallops. The kitchen split the steak and served a beautiful entree for us both. A couple of great sides and we were stuffed. But still had dessert. It was a perfect meal without the pressure of too much food. Will certainly return.

Hands down, the best service and food we have ever gotten in Indy. Chris, Andy, and manager Armando were absolutely incredible. They took such great care of us. We never felt rushed and were able to enjoy every bit of food we ordered. Started with the Calamari and Rock Shrimp appetizer.....big enough to feed 4 people! The Calamari was cooked perfectly! Love when restaurants serve the tentacles and rings. So good. House salad was delicious and what our bodies craved after a weekend of stadium food. For dinner, we shared the Waygu World Tour. Perfect for us as I am usually full by this point. You get a small portion of Japanese Waygu, Australian Waygu, and American Prime filet. All were delicious but Australian was my favorite of the 3. For the sides, we picked Jalapeno Au Gratin, Grilled Asparagus with Hollandaise, and Roasted Carrots with Whipped Maple Ricotta. Wowza!!! All 3 were tasty! I was also impressed with their Prime 47 Old Fashioned that was on Draft. I'm always leery of drinks on tap but I would order this again. We were too full for dessert but miraculously, a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie with ice cream appeared at our table. I forced myself to eat the deliciousness. Man oh man. First off, the scenary at the hostess station is on point. Drove out from The Nati to see some friends and decided to stay the night in downtown Indy. Was searching for the best steak in town and this was 2nd on the list. The other place was fully booked tonight so here I am. The interior space is exsquisite and has an old world feel to it. Tall ceilings with lots and lots of space Bar seating, high top tables off the hostess station and a massive dining room Borderline roaring 20's meets millennial d bags. Not in a bad way. Just in a way. The menu options are solid and I'm sure the cheese tortellini are delish. I'm confident the stuffed chicken breast is decent. But, I didn't show up at Prime 47 to order pasta or poultry y'all. I came for beef. Cow! Steer! That said, I ordered a Caesar salad with double croutons and double anchovies. The salad was dressed well. Enough dressing for proper flavor but not too soggy. Crisp lettuce and shaved parmesan cheese. The star of the dish for me, hands down, arr the fresh anchovies. Absolutely beautiful shine to the skin, filleted perfectly and left to do their thing. Fresh anchovies don't need salt or pepper or anything for that matter. Maybe a drizzle of expensive, unfiltered olive oil. They need to be left alone and these suckers were. Delicious start to my meal. ***Now, if you are reading this review, please pause and review my photos. Please do it. Done? Thank you.*** Okay, you just saw a massive hunk of dry aged prime US of A beef and you also saw that it was barely cooked and the inside was almost blue, right? Okay, because that's a steak prepared by a chef. Not a line cook not a short order diner cook. A chef! A woman or man who is trusted with the grill on Friday night has a massive responsibility and this chef nailed it. The exterior crust was seared hard and created the stunning crust that steak lovers die for. Crusty, charred, salty and fatty goodness The first cut is always the most exciting right? It exposed the nearly raw center and boy oh boy. The flavors were exceptional. Perfectly salted and seasoned with.... I can't place it but it will come to me whilst I burn a cigar in a few. Service by team #10 (how interesting is that?) was on point. My waiter, Walter, was funny, well spoken, smiled a lot and took great care of me. I absolutely enjoyed my experience tonight and if I'm ever down this way again, I'll be back for another meal.
