The Best Waterfront Dining in Palm Beach County | Eater Miami

"Opened in 2004 by the Theiran family, this dock-and-dine restaurant in Boynton Beach sits along the Intracoastal Waterway and stands out as one of the few waterfront dining options in southern Palm Beach County. It features ample outdoor seating, including the Island Bar extending over the Intracoastal. The menu highlights seafood specialties such as pecan grouper with sautéed baby spinach and aged sherry butter, and coconut-crusted halibut, lightly fried and accompanied by mango sweet and sour sauce and Asian pear slaw." - J. Miller

Soon as I walked in, I felt very happy very clean awesome people. Everybody is very nice. The wine was incredible. The house. Sauvignon Blanc was amazing the smoked wahoo chips and the tremendous. We also enjoyed the view service was less than five minutes with our food. Tell you right now this place gets a five star. I wish I could give you a 20 star the waitress even the customers had a great conversation with us and many other things. I’ll be back my wife still smiling thank you. You guys at prime catch

A beautiful waterfront happy hour with friendly staff and a great menu, perfect for enjoying a few bites while chatting with a new friend at the bar. The people-watching is excellent, and the passing boats give you plenty to enjoy while sampling the happy hour offerings. The oysters were heavenly, and with a chill in the air, I decided to try the baby zucchini fries-so glad I did. Arrive early, because this spot is clearly popular for food, drinks and fun.

Google
Great atmosphere that had excellent service to go along with it. Parking at first seemed like it would be a challenge but came to find out that they have complimentary valet parking. For the food it was some of the best seafood dishes I’ve had in my life. Cocktails were good as well. Nothing negative to say about this place. Highly recommend going but plan on getting a reservation to help ensure that you can get a table.

Google
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Living in South Florida, I’ve learned to be skeptical of waterfront restaurants. Usually, you’re paying for the scenery while eating mediocre, overpriced seafood. I’m happy to say Prime Catch in Boynton is the exception to that rule. It balances that relaxed, vacation-mode atmosphere with food that is actually taken seriously. We sat outside on the deck, which I highly recommend. Watching the boats pass under the Woolbright Bridge while the sun sets is unbeatable. It’s lively and energetic, but you can still have a conversation without shouting. As for the food, do not skip the Eggplant Fries. I know, it sounds like a throwaway appetizer, but they are stacked high, drizzled with honey and pecorino, and honestly addictive. For the main course, I went with their signature Sweet Potato Crusted Grouper. It’s a bold dish, sweet and savory but the fish was fresh and flaky, and it didn't feel heavy. It’s "Florida comfort food" done right. The real highlight of the evening, however, was the service. Favian took care of us, and he was fantastic. In a busy spot like this, it’s easy to feel like just another table to be turned, but Favian made us feel genuinely welcome. He knew the menu inside and out, gave great recommendations, and paced the meal perfectly so we never felt rushed. He kept the water glasses full and the mood light. If you’re looking for a spot that impresses out-of-town guests but still feels like a local favorite, this is it. It’s rare to find a place with this kind of volume that maintains this level of quality. We will definitely be asking for Favian next time we go back.

Google
I can't say enough about my recent dining experience here while on vacation... AMAZING!!! Service was on point and Chef Specials were incredible (3 of 4 at our table ordered them). This restaurant came highly recommended by a friend...and I hope to pass on the same recommendation to others. We drove from Pompano and it was definitely worth the trip!!

Google
Great to visit. Got a great seat on the patio. Food and service was outstanding. Loved that we had a gift certificate celebrating our birthdays. Would go back for Specisl occasions.

Google
My husband and I had our 1 year anniversary dinner here and had such an amazing experience! The restaurant is beautiful and the staff is so kind, from the hostess to our waiter! We sat outside on the patio and got to see the sun set! My husband got a strawberry lemonade cocktail and the seafood prime grill and I got a key lime pie martini and a ceaser salad and we shared the crab cake appetizer! Everything was so delicious!

Google
This was just a perfectly lovely luncheon. We were celebrating my birthday. Jacques was a fabulous server. He was so informative and helpful. Great personality sweet smile. He was very attentive and checked on us but was not intrusive. Great. Both dishes ordered were delicious and we enjoyed them very much. The scenery of course over the intercoastal is wonderful. Cue the Yachts going by. It's one of my favorite places and I was happy to celebrate my birthday and they were so lovely to do a complimentary dessert. Definitely going back.

Yelp
Updated 2025. We made a reservation for an outside spot... if you do not make a reservation you will not get an outdoor spot. Dinner was Delicious, let's start with that! We had several different options on the table. Filet mignon, Swordfish, Seafood bouillabaisse, blackened salmon salad for main dishes we started with oysters, fish dip and Honey Thai shrimp. we ended the meal with Carrot cake, Keylime pie coconut pie and thier special multi candy ice cream. What a wonderful meal with great waiter Arin who took great care of our table. Nice location on the intercostal with water views.

Yelp
Prime Catch is a fantastic spot--classy but not stuffy, with a beautiful outdoor patio right on the water. The Beets & Greens salad (with salmon) is easily my favorite dish; I hope they never change it! It's a perfect balance of greens, earthy roasted beets, creamy house-made ricotta, and crunchy candied pecans. Every ingredient is high quality and stands well on its own, making for a richly flavored and textured salad. My dad and I also split the Prime Thai Salad with mahi. It has a tropical vibe with pineapple and chili lime vinaigrette, though it's not spicy at all. While we preferred the bold flavors of the beet salad, both were great choices and we liked being able to have the tastes of both. We did notice the salmon portion was slightly larger than the mahi, but again, we liked having the diversity. Both fish were cooked quite simply, so if you prefer something more 'dressed up,' my grandma's Honey Almond Roasted Snapper was very good. To top it off, they treated us to a complimentary Key Lime Pie for a birthday--classic, tart, and sweet. We'd absolutely order the same meal again!

Yelp
No one was about to cook this thanksgiving. Instead we opted for dinner at Prime Catch. This is a beautiful waterfront restaurant with a lovely ambiance and a great staff. Their Thanksgiving menu was filled with many options but being the basic, I went for the turkey..lol Delicious! Turkey and graven with mash potato's and a cranberry pickle. I ate every last bite! The drinks hit as well! But the show stopper was the pumpkin ice cream! It was a perfect end to a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Yelp
Had a nice evening sitting at the waterfront bar area. The clam chowder was good. They have bread if you ask for it- it came out warm with butter. Yummy Each of us had different seafood options and everything Was delicious. I really enjoyed my swordfish. The hollandaise sauce was light and the crab meat on top made it a really nice dish. The Mahi was prob my favorite of everyone's dish. The slaw and coconut rice were a nice addition. The staff were very friendly - Sarah was extremely sweet.

Yelp
I want to love this so much but it could have been better. The location and view is great. We didn't have a reservation and sat down at the upstairs bar. The bartender was busy and not exactly friendly. We both ordered a drink and an appetizer to share. I ordered a glass of sparkling rosé and my husband ordered a spicy watermelon margarita. We ordered the crispy Thai shrimp. I wanted to love these so much but, they were a miss for me. Some of the shrimp were very warm and some were cold, which was kind of offputting and additionally the sauce had a really odd flavor that I didn't enjoy. We ended up eating them, but I didn't think they were worth $19. Had the bartender made us feel more welcome, we might have stayed for dinner. I would maybe give this a second chance, but next time I will probably sit outside at the waterfront bar.

Yelp
First time here! The views are immaculate. The carrot cake was hard and bland. The espresso martini was yummy and creamy. Ill return to give it another try.

Yelp
This review is for Thanksgiving. Set menu. Just wonderful- from ambience, service, to quality and execution of food this was top notch. This is a gem and I highly recommend. We had: wahoo fish dip, fish and chips, salmon and red snapper. Everything was cooked perfectly, fresh and light not greasy, and deliciously seasoned. Everyone was happy. When in FL I try to get the local dishes, here that's the fish dip and red snapper. Both wonderful. The views were lovely and there is a lot of outdoor seating (and an outdoor bar separate from the dining area). Our waiter was kind, helpful and patient. Table was cleared during our meal and water glasses were never empty- very good service. If I lived here this place would be a regular stop for me. Fresh food executed well and delicious. Highly recommend!

Yelp
"Waterfront Dining" they say - well it's the truth I'm at Prime Island, a bar built ON the Intracoastal Waterway, accessed by a little pier from the main building Food - well it's just great. Obviously fish, but a hidden gem for their meats (who would've thunk that?) Their Prime Rib, and burgers are up there with the best of them Super service - every staff member has the utmost respect for all guests (they hold the door open for you if you move between the island and the main building I am never disappointed here and I doubt you will be Try it

Yelp
We really enjoyed our meal at Prime Catch tonight! The views were incredible and our server was so friendly. We ordered the smoked wahoo dip to start. For our main courses, we had the halibut, the scallop risotto and the honey roasted almond snapper. Everything was outstanding! This was the perfect Christmas Eve dinner.

Yelp
Nice waterfront setting. Very good fresh fish. Definitely a first rate place. Service very nice. Easy parking.

Yelp
SO OBSESSED WITH THIS PLACE. Shout out to Megan she's the absolute sweetest and most knowledgeable server they have. Ask for her when you go. Food is exceptional, please eat any fish! Also they have a variety of different hearty dishes to try too. I recommend sitting outside and having too much wine.

Joe I.

Yelp
Always a good experience. The service is excellent and the food is the freshest. The presentation is always top shelf. I get the grilled dolphin/ Mahi on top of a Caesar salad. My wife is more adventurous and got the halibut over rice which was delicious. We shared one of their signature desserts...this time a coconut cream pie with a mountain of whipped cream.

Yelp
It was my mother's 90th birthday she was coming out for the first time after breaking her hip so unfortunately she was using a walker. We approached the check in on a tues night at 730 pm and was advised only outdoor seating on a cold night for mom. The manager was standing their while we explained to hostesses unfortunately that won't work as it was to cold and we were told approximately a 50 min wait. Again the manager did say one word when I asked to please check maybe someone was finishing up. Again manager did say boo. I said mom cant wait that long and we would be going elsewhere to accommodate us, Again manager standing there ignoring us . As we turned to walk away this rude woman manager calls out wait , as I thought she finally gained some intelligence and customer service skills but she says take this card it has our phone number call next time, as she handed me the card i noticed it was the same female manager that our group had a problemwith once before , who argues with customers instead of solving issues. Iv never been so insulted and disrespected btw I was spending 2k a month dinning there before. I urge everyone to take my experience under advice and permanently choose another place to spend their time and money as obviously management is poor and un trained

Yelp
A beautiful day on the water. We sat outside and enjoyed the special Easter brunch. The Easter menu was a fun deviation for those of us that frequent prime. New menu options like the roasted veggie salad were so simple yet so delicious. Our sever was the only reason i didn't give five stars. Very inattentive and I had to flag him down each time.

Willy P.

Yelp
Very very nice location. The outside area by the intercostal was beautiful. We ordered drinks and oysters and they were spot on. The bar tender took care us , no waiting. We will return.
google avatar

Yelp
This restaurant was recommended to me on Facebook. It is definitely worth the review. Outdoor seating was perfect. Ambiance was mellow. Our waiter, Nicolas, was attentive, professional and engaging. The view of the InterCoastal was lovely. Cocktails were on point. They did my old fashioned perfectly. The lobster was to die for, as well as the raw oysters. I cannot wait to come back!

Yelp
What a great meal & view at Prime Catch in Boynton. It's right on the waterfront. I sat at the outside bar which has a great view & full menu. Since they're known for fish I had the Yellow Tail Snapper with all the trimmings. My server said it's their #1 item and it was delicious . One caution, be careful of their piping hot bread. It can fill you up before your entree arrives. Good thing I was starved . PC is one of the best restaurants on the waterway.

Yelp
Had a large family dinner here. Can I just say the waitress, she was the kindness and most patient person I've ever met. She went above and beyond and was super friendly and attentive. The vibe here is very nice along the waterfront, their porch balcony tables and waterfront bar was packed on a Friday night early dinner. Make sure to make your reservations. We had appetizers like fried zucchini sticks, crab cake (which was so yummy), a fish dip, and fresh oysters! For entree I had their signature honey almond snapper (it was soooo tasty, highly recommend). Others had swordfish which I heard was good, lobster which apparently mp right now is very good almost half of what it was previously. Their bathroom had a baby changing table in their handicap stall. Ramp accessible for strollers and wheelchairs. Valet parking available. No autogratutiy for large groups. Make sure to tip well! Highly recommend this place!
google avatar

Yelp
Overpriced without the quality to match. I prepare scallops at home, sautéed to golden brown dipped in either corn starch or bread crumbs. The scallops at Fresh Catch achieved their artificial color solely with paprika and no other coating. Yuck. Never seen this before. And the fresh green beans were uncooked. An unprofessionally thrown-together, unimaginative and unenjoyable meal, especially for this price. Very disappointing. Will not be back.

Yelp
A group of us came to celebrate Thanksgiving. The earliest we could get a reservation was 6:15 which worked beautifully, we met at a friends for cocktails first. Valet parking made the evening. Easy We sat on the water and had a beautiful view. There was a special Thanksgiving menu, à la carte. Arin was our waiter; he was knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. We started by sharing a gorgonzola pear salad, it was enough for two of us. My husband and I shared a 3 pound lobster that was cracked nicely and easy to devour. They were out of baked potatoes, so we shared fries. For dessert, we split the chocolate lava cake with homemade whipped cream on top.

Yelp
We were two couples here for dinner on the patio overlooking the water and boats riding by on Friday evening. Complimentary valet parking is provided. It appeared to be a quiet evening now that the season has drawn to a close. Joshua was our waiter and he was very accommodating answering all our questions and reviewing the menu. We all had a drink and had shared PRIME THAI SALADs....... Baby Gem Lettuce, Savoy Cabbage, Herbs, Avocado, Pineapple, Roasted Peanuts, Chili Lime Vinaigrette. Afterwards 3 of us had the fresh locally sourced Signature Fish HONEY ALMOND ROASTED SNAPPER....... 42 Florida Orange Beurre Blanc, Crispy Smashed Fingerling Potatoes, Grilled Asparagus. It was a hearty dish and delicious. Paul had the flash frozen halibut from Alaska -COCONUT CRUSTED HALIBUT................. .......38 Lightly Fried, Mango Sweet & Sour Sauce, Asian Pear Slaw, and Jasmine rice. He also loved his entree. We all had decaf cappuccino and had bites of the key lime pie for dessert. This was a delightful meal with great ambiance and service. It's always a winner!

Jon G.

Yelp
We had the pleasure of having Favion waiting on us. Food and drinks were excellent as usual! He was extremely polite , courteous and professional ! Love to see the smiling face and excellent service !

Yelp
Food was good Service was good. Judy is the best a great greater and person. We love her!!

Yelp
After so many recommendations for this place, I was super excited to eat there. I loved the view and the atmosphere of the restaurant. The service was also great. Unfortunately, I just didn't love the food that much. We tried every dessert on the menu and they were all just okay. I will say that the kids meal portions were humongous. I've never seen a kids meal burger that was the size of an adult burger and a double burger. The food was good just not great. I got the scallops. I didn't love their blackening seasoning.
google avatar

Chris A.

Yelp
I've been going to this place for a long time. It's always been a good go to restaurant with a beautiful view of the intercoastal and boats going by. I was recently there for a little get together with my friends. Andrew waited on us excellent server very knowledgeable I was there with four of my friends. Everyone was happy with the appetizers and their meals so you know this place does it right?

Ricky D.

Yelp
Prime Catch might be the most inconsistent restaurant I go to and despite my last bad food experience I returned because friend's wanted to go. What is consistent is the great staff and every employee I've encountered has been both friendly and professional. We chose several appetizers and all were good A main course also was fine but the sundae dessert with ice cream from a local business was the best. I think this restaurant will return to my regular rotation.
google avatar

Mark K.

Yelp
The restaurant is beautiful and I have included some pictures as testament to that fact. We sat overlooking the water for dinner on Mother's Day weekend (5/9/25). Between the three of us, we got the Seared Local Mahi, Florida Mahi (blackened), and one other entree--all are pictured. Mine was quite tasty and very good. The blackened was decent. The other entree was decent. On account of Mother's Day, a 54th wedding anniversary, and a birthday, they gave us a slice of coconut cream pie gratis. It was outstanding. Bread was also served, I believe. The price point is higher, which makes a tough bar to clear (value concerns). For this reason, I'm giving 4 stars. With the scenery though... well, I think you're going to pay up to eat in an environment like this one. No way around that. Our server was Brittany and she was friendly and outstanding.
google avatar

Carmen V.

Yelp
First off, the view and ambiance are phenomenal. We had a party of eight celebrating a birthday and our table outside was the perfect spot to enjoy the beautiful intracoastal water views and watch the boats go by. The service was outstanding, from the servers to the managers that stopped by to say hello. Everyone was so attentive and accommodating. The food was extraordinarily exceptional. Every single appetizer, entree and dessert were shared, devoured and loved by all. Everyone's favorite, if we had to pick a winner, was the amazing carrot cake. Everyone agreed it was the best they've ever had. We can't wait to return and will recommend this restaurant to all our friends!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Fast service beautiful scenary outdoor waterfront seating and dinning parking space Food tastes great
google avatar

Yelp
Prime Catch is one of the better restaurants in Boynton. There is a parking lot outside the restaurant, but there are never enough spots. The Palm Beach Bibb and Seafood Stew were pretty good. I would come back to try other dishes.
google avatar

Marcie M.

Yelp
Great location with view of the water and outside seating. Steak was cooked perfectly as well as the lobster. Sat at the bar while waiting for our outside table, which was also a good vibe. Friendly bartender.
google avatar

Mike U.

Yelp
Came to have Thanksgiving dinner with friends. The 615 reservation worked out fine. We were not rushed. They had a special Thanksgiving menu. Arin our waiter was knowledgeable, personable and attentive without being overbearing. We had their gorgenzola salad as well as splitting their 3 lb lobster. It was very good and tasty. We split a chocolate lava cake that was a nice sized portion. Including the water view it made for a nice dining experience.
google avatar

Raquel T.

Yelp
Prime Catch never disappoints. The seared local mahi is amazing, as well as the key lime pie. I always sit outside at the bar to enjoy the sunset and watch the boats go by. Great place to enjoy a nice meal and catch up with friends!
google avatar

Mariel K.

Yelp
Great view but not great service, food was also all lacking some flavor, for the price the meal was very mediocre.
google avatar

Iris. G.

Yelp
We were a group of (5) people came for late lunch. We sat at the Bar had a few drinks before our reservation. We were there Friday & found out about their 20 years $20 special limited menu for the weekend . Most of us ordered the stuffed Lobster, but when it came out, we told Laura our waitress , that the food, did not look like our Friday meal. She said it's the same thing , but they run out of Lobster Shells. How can you run out of lobster shell, when you are scooping it out of the lobster?? Any way, my food came cold & I told her that, she said it's the special what can you expect!!! My friend said to her politely, it looks like you are having a bad day, Laura said , yes!! I am working back to back. When You work in the service arena, you need to do it with love, or stay home!!!

Yelp
We went to Prime Catch last night along with another couple who highly recommended this restaurant they made a reservation for four to sit outside and look at the Intracoastal Waterway. The restaurant has a number of tables on the outside deck. The other couple was concerned about the possibility of rain, but the skies were blue and there were only a few scattered clouds . The waiter checked to see if we wanted regular water or bottled water, and the ladies chose regular water. We also ordered drinks. After we looked at the menu, the ladies ordered fish and me and my friend ordered the two pound lobsters (all it said on the menu was market price and he ordered his broiled and I ordered mine steamed). All of us ordered the Blue Point Crab Bisque which included Sherry and was very good. My steamed lobster was over cooked and the meat was dry and chewy, while he said his broiled Lobster was okay. The restaurant is a little pricey and I wouldn't have minded that if the Lobster tasted better. I don't know if I will return to this restaurant, even though I really like Lobster. This restaurant has valet parking and there is no charge for parking. I would rate this restaurant about a 3.7 stars, no higher!
google avatar

Ron. R.

Yelp
as usual, the food and service were excellent. We went on a Monday night, so the 2 pound lobster was only $55 . It was incredibly fresh . I had the French bouillabaisse, which was excellent

Yelp
I finally went to Prime Catch and it was 100% fabulous from beginning to end. Our waiter, Favian, was wonderful. He saw to our every wish and did it all with a smile. Our drinks were great and the food even better. The atmosphere was beautiful and we weren't rushed at all. It's definitely an expensive restaurant but for a special event or just an evening in which you want to be treated well it's a great option. The best part was that when my friend and I were in the Uber, already riding home, someone called her to tell her that they had her wallet and that they have locked it in their safe! They had chosen one of her credit cards, called the company and then the company froze that card and contacted her. We went right back to get it - - -we were soooooooo impressed with their actions. Brava Prime Catch!

Yelp
I had their hamburger at Hamburger and it was absolutely terrible. All soggy! No flavor or texture.

Yelp
Valet parking, on the water at Boynton Beach, indoor and outdoor seating restaurant with nearby bar (Prime Island). Friendly and prompt service. Seats were a little low. Several choices of fish and seafood on the regular menu with one off-menu entree special, which I ordered, pineapple mango panko-crusted jumbo shrimp over black rice. It was delicious, but the black rice below it was heavy and gluppy (the same way risotto is sometimes ruined) with a buttery sauce. Their New England clam chowder had sufficient bits of clam and potatoes and it was tasty, but too thick and heavy - lighter would've been better. We all enjoyed it. Moderate-to-high priced. Nice place.

Arlene A.

Yelp
Our meals were very good - fish and chips, lobster and scallop dinner. zucchini appetizer was excellent. overall great service, nice venue. only bummer was the scallop dinner at $42 came with only four small scallops. very odd and disappointing.
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely love this restaurant - it's our go-to when we're in the area! Beautiful setting, a great menu, and fabulous service! Our server Arin was so friendly, attentive, and accommodating. Highly recommend!

Yelp
The old menus weren't amazing but it's better than the mediocre plates they're pushing these days.

Yelp
Food was super as was the service. Nice view of the water valet service was quick and easy

Yelp
Perfect Great food Great service On the water Relax and enjoy I need great service and fresh food!' Good cocktails

Yelp
Came in for my first time for brunch. Service was awful. It was a young man who definitely seemed like he didn't want to be there. Then the food came. Lukewarm at best and the fruit that came with my eggs Benedict tasted like they prepped it a week ago and it sat in the refrigerator uncovered. For these prices, I wished the food and the service match the beautiful ambience and the reason why we came to the restaurant in the first place. We will not be back.

Yelp
Friday Lunch, Mid August. 94 °F . Ate outside. Yes it was hot but there were fans, and it was very quiet. Very pleasant atmosphere. Our waiter (Joe) was a pleasure. I specifically want to recommend the coconut crusted halibut. It was spectacular. The lunch menu seems to be identical to the dinner menu but with some what reduced prices. Still a pricey lunch. Nevertheless a lovely setting for a relaxed and leisurely afternoon repast.
