I reached out to my Best Friends earlier last week letting them know that I wanted to celebrate my birthday with them because they are some of the most important peeps in my life. It didn't matter where we got together, just that I was able to spend time with them celebrating God allowing me to see another year. They threw out restaurant suggestions, I provided some, and ultimately we chose Korean BBQ. One of my buddies recommended we eat at Prime Grill KBBQ. This was our 2nd year in a row celebrating my bday at a KBBQ restaurant. This was a scrumptious and delectable place to celebrate and it appears KBBQ will be my annual bday tradition.
Prime Grill can be found in the gauntlet of competitive Asian eateries where if you're still in business, that means you're doing something right. This KBBQ restaurant is located in the small outdoor strip mall where you can find Min Sok Chon, Korean Bingsoo Cafe, and Somi Somi; it's across the street from Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, Dumpling Inn/Shanghai Saloon, and Iceskimo; and it's specifically on Convoy Street. My biggest issue with the location is the minimal parking available, but there is street parking, which might cause you to park a good walk away from the restaurant. There isn't an iPad for you to check in, so you need to get your name on their manual list. Their main dining room area consists of booth seating with a BBQ grill in the middle of the table. They also have overflow seating in a separate room with the same type of seating. For the most part, the customer service was decent, but some of my buddies didn't get friendly customer service from our waitress. I really appreciated our waitress bringing me a macaron filled with ice cream for my birthday treat, but make sure someone tells the waitress that you're celebrating a birthday. Maybe our waitress liked me better because she was nice to the birthday boy.
I'm truly blessed with such amazing and generous Best Friends. There is actually a group of 10 of us who all have been friends since high school and college, which is many moons ago. This is the 2nd year in a row that I celebrated my birthday with this group, so per our discussion this evening, we plan to make it a tradition where we celebrate my birthday at a different KBBQ restaurant each year and we have to wear the same clothes we wore the previous year. That can be an expensive proposition, which is why I called my friends generous. This was my first visit to Prime Grill and they have different levels of All You Can Eat to choose from. My generous buddies selected the Supreme Menu, which was $51.99/person. Dang Brothers, you guys don't mess around. Of course our waitress brought out the typical banchan. We also ordered white and fried rice, corn cheese, and steamed egg. My buddies started out with prime boneless short rib, prime rib eye, prime marinated short rib, and beef tongue. I was smarter this time and ensured that I barely touched the banchan. Once these four proteins were cooked, we devoured them like we had not eaten for days. We then ordered shrimp, beef bulgogi, brisket, and pork belly. The meat was quality, satisfying, tasty, and if not for our stuffed bellies, we would have kept chowing down. The beef tongue, prime rib eye, and prime marinated short rib were the stars, so I'm thankful to my lifelong friends for giving me the opportunity to order from the most expensive level.
Prime Grill KBBQ was a stellar selection from one of my foodie Best Pals. We might need to deviate from our try a different KBBQ restaurant for my birthday proposition because I won't be mad at my Besties if we dine at Prime Grill two years in a row.
