Prince’s Hot Chicken Lands in Greenville, South Carolina | Eater Carolinas

"I'm excited to hear that the legendary home to Nashville’s most famous dish is expanding to Greenville: Prince’s Hot Chicken will open in November inside the Yee-Haw Brewing Company at 307 East McBee Avenue. They’ll carry the same menu as the Nashville location, with heat options ranging from plain to “XXX HOT.” Semone Jeffries, whose mother has owned Prince’s for 38 years, will visit Greenville to train staff, but the proprietary hot spice mix will remain secret and be prepared in Nashville and transported regularly to Greenville, so fans in South Carolina won’t have to travel to Tennessee to get a taste." - Erin Perkins

Came here for some hot chicken, have been to the original princes in Nashville and wanted to compare. The wife got the medium tenders and I got the xhot chicken sandwich. Chicken was fresh, with the perfect amount of breading. The wife said the medium wasn't as hot as she was hoping. The xhot was more of a hot for me, I'll definitely do the xxhot next time. Love this place, perfect outdoor seating for dogs. The only thing I don't care for is that it's a little expensive because is downtown Greenville. Will go back again, still reccomend. Just don't expect it to be affordable.

Lol @ the noob review who says this isn't true Nashville hot chicken. Prince's is quite literally the original hot chicken from Nashville. If you knew hot chicken you would know it's very inconsistent which is annoying but it's life. The chicken is 🔥 and amazing 8 times out of 10. Mac is great too.

Their hot chicken tenders (I got mild + medium) were great! The huge pretzel was soft and warm and tasted amazing! Definitely recommend stopping here if you're ever in Greenville.

For anyone who's had real Nashville Hot chicken... This is most definitely NOT it. Sad times for us, we drove an hour to get here, all excited. But no. See in the pic the little dark bits? That's the entirety of the spice you get. It's basically fried southern style chicken. Not bad, but not what's advertised. The environment was cool, the yeehaw beer nice, so they get 3 stars. Recommend as a cool spot to hang out, but don't expect Princes chicken here.

The Chicken is Delicious. After having longed for Prince's to open Greenville SC, my experience has been inconsistent the 5 times I have visited. Don't get me wrong, the chicken is super high quality and cooked to perfection. The heat scale however is all over the place. I have had "blow your head off" medium and wimpy 1x hot between visits. The last time I visited, which was Friday, January 22nd, I had ordered the 1st level of hot and there was no sauce visible at all. It tasted rather mild and the only sauce was just a smear on the bottom; out of sight. The kitchen manager however came out to visit and corrected the problem. I'd say the chicken that day leaned to the mild side. A hot chicken restaurant with the name Prince's should guard against these inconsistencies to uphold the reputation of having the BEST HOT CHICKEN in this fine country. I wish I could give 4.5 stars, but for now you get 5 because I like it so much I will return and bring friends, often.

Prince's hot chicken is a legit branch of an iconic Nashville hot chicken restaurant. Small menu but everything is awesome. Family and dog friendly outside seating.

I’ve had and love Princes Chicken but this is not Nashville’s pride in Greenville. Chicken had absolutely no flavor and just tasted like grease. Be warned this is not what your expecting. A shame was really looking forward to having princes local.

We got the 4 tenders and 2 sides. The chicken was a little dry but the flavor is AMAZING!! We got 2 mild 2 medium. It’s a lot of good so I’d suggest splitting with someone. The brocolli casserole and Mac n cheese were incredible! We will be back again 100%
