The Best Road Trip Restaurant Stops Along California’s North Coast | Eater SF

"What began as a woman-owned-and-operated commercial fishing boat (“The Princess”) has evolved into a seafood market deli. There’s both a fish case selling locally caught and sashimi-grade seafood and a small menu of deli items, including excellent clam chowder and grilled Humboldt Bay oysters with either a bourbon barbecue sauce (which has a surprising kick) or a lemon-garlic butter. Not far away, Princess has a full-service restaurant with a wide deck overlooking Noyo Harbor, where there are 12 beers on tap and grilled fish specialties — they do not have a fryer — like local rockfish tacos on either corn or flour tortillas, pickled onion, cabbage, and a side of black beans (mango salsa optional), or a crab roll with a quarter-pound of Dungeness crab on a buttered roll. Live music on weekends adds to the atmosphere." - Freda Moon

The Best Restaurants for Dungeness Crab in the San Francisco Bay Area | Eater SF

"The Princess is a fishing boat run by an all-women “crew of real princesses,” and it also has a fish market on the harbor. The case is filled with wild West Coast seafood including coveted Dungeness in the winter. You can buy Dungeness cracked and cleaned to take home here, or enjoy crab rolls and grilled crab from the deli." - Eater Staff

There is no shortage of places to eat fresh seafood in Fort Bragg, and we had a hard time choosing, but this place stood out based on its views, menu, and ambiance. You have to drive down into a marine district where there are many distributors, fishing outfits, fish shacks, and restaurants. There will be many distractions, but stay focused as you have found the right place. You have to drive out to the point (back towards the direction of the bridge). There is plenty of parking and a large seating area, so don't stress if there is a line. The main restaurant might be under construction, so they are serving on the deck, yes, there are umbrellas. You order from the register, and they will bring your food to you. I ordered a crab roll and coleslaw along with a lemonade. Others ordered fish sandwiches (I think), and there were a few poke bowl orders. They sell wine and beer, which is lovely to have while you wait for your food and watch the fishing boats come and go. This is a great spot, offering excellent service and delicious food. Don't be shy, step up and get in line, you won't be disappointed.

Thank goodness for the outdoor heaters! We are not locals and forgot our sweatshirts. We enjoyed the food, the atmosphere, and the service. I really like that you order before you find a table. The crab rolls were delicious! Kids enjoyed their cheeseburgers. The best, of course, goes to the oysters on the half shell. Yum! -Regina

Google
This was my favorite meal we had while in Mendocino/Fort Bragg which is saying a lot because all the meals we had were great! My husband and I shared: - BBQ Oysters - Lemon Garlic and Chipotle Bourbon - West Coast Crab Roll - Rockfish Sandwich We came here for the crab roll and while it was very good, it was actually my least favorite of the 3 things we ordered. I loved the Rockfish Sandwich and the Chipotle Bourbon oysters!

Google
Food was delicious. I had the grilled shark bowl. Fingerliking. The oysters were good but had a strange texture. (I know oysters) Service is not there. You have to order at the bar. They bring it but you have to bring your dishes back. Location is very beautiful. They close already at 1600… quite early….

Google
Amazing view, quick service, and tasty food. Better than Boudin in San Francisco for sure. Highly recommend the Lobster Bisque! I don't eat seafood typically and I even loved the bisque. The crab roll is great if you LOVE crab so my review is biased against it but it's still a 7/10

Google
Absolutely loved Princess Seafood in Fort Bragg!😍 The shrimp tacos(asked for hot/spicy) were hands-down the best I’ve ever had—super fresh, perfectly seasoned, and full of flavor. The Angus beef sandwich was amazing too—juicy, tender, and packed with goodness. Beautiful harbor views, chill vibe, and great service. This spot is a total gem on the coast. Can’t wait to go back!

Google
Outstanding in every way. We had rockfish tacos and a spicy crab appetizer. Everything from atmosphere to service to the view was top notch…and it wouldn’t surprise me if we made it back again this week. We didn’t have too much trouble finding close by parking, and the seating area even had a few heaters on our chilly day. Everything about this place was five stars, and I’m surprised at how affordable our food felt.

Google
Good was good. Had the Clam chowder in a bread bowl. I feel like each bite was better than the previous. Service was fine and everyone was nice and polite. You order from the counter and self bus your plate. Got to watch sea loins play while eating lunch

Yelp
This little restaurant is tucked in the back of the wharf and was one of our highlights of our Pacific NorthWest road trip. Highly recommend. Everything was fresh and delicious! Dogs are welcome. Gluten-free buns are available, which was a win for my husband.

Yelp
Ambiance 10/10 beautiful deck and views of the water. Dog friendly patio with lots of room. Service was good. You order at the counter and self serve water and bus your own table. They bring food out to you. The line at the front moved quickly. They advertise a 30 minute wait for grilled items but ours didn't take nearly that long. No complaints. A great diversity of food on their menu. Chips were made fresh there. Fish was fresh. Clam chowder was disappointing - lacked flavor and overly thickened for my tastes but my companion found it tasty. They were very busy and sold out of several menu items quickly. Overall I would recommend coming for the great experience and expecting you will have a solid but not exceptional meal.

Yelp
Service was friendly, fresh tuna salad was yummy. We were excited to have fresh Clam Chowder and Lobster Bisque both soup were not good we did not eat them left them on the table. The clam chowder tasted fishy and the bisque was more like a fishy cheddar cheese soup.

Yelp
Fresh Seafood Done Right! I had a dozen raw oysters on the half shell--absolutely delightful. The oysters were creamy and fresh, and they paired perfectly with the sauce provided. I also ordered the half crab roll with clam chowder. The chowder was flavorful with a nice consistency--not too runny or too thick--and had bits of clam in every spoonful. The crab roll was equally satisfying, generously filled with well-seasoned crab. Lastly, I tried the grilled rock cod fish sandwich with chips. The fish was well-seasoned, cooked just right, and not dry at all. The chips were crispy and full of flavor. I'd definitely come back, especially for the oysters and clam chowder. A great spot for fresh, well-prepared seafood!

Yelp
The seafood here is so tasty and fresh! I spent a couple of days in Fort Bragg recently, and Princess Seafood Restaurant (as well as its market/deli location nearby) was by far my favorite food spot in town. You order and pay at the front, there's self serve water to the side, and there's plenty of open outdoor seating in the back. We ordered raw oysters, a crab and shrimp salad, a crab roll, and a fish plate that was one of the daily specials. The star of the show was the crab roll, which was absolutely delicious. You have to get the crab roll here!

Yelp
A staple for seafood lovers in Mendocino. Must try if you're stopping by the area! Small parking lot but plenty of street parking options available. Limited service - you order at first then you seat yourself with a number and they bring the food to you. You get your own water/bus your own table. They have outdoor dining only but plenty of heated lamps available. Waterfront view is nice. We absolutely loved their clam chowder and had to come back the next day to get it again. It was rich but not overly creamy or salty, and there was an almost zesty flavor to it. Generous amount of clams with each bite. One of the best clam chowders I've had! The lobster bisque was disappointing. There was barely any seafood flavor, and it was just soup with finely minced stuff - you couldn't even tell it was lobster. I would skip this. The BBQ oysters were amazing. I don't even like oyster but I liked this. You can get a minimum of 6 for BBQ oysters and we chose half half flavor (garlic lemon and chipotle bourbon). Omg the flavor was SO good, and the oyster was so well grilled. If you're looking for that strong oyster flavor though (for true oyster lovers) you probably won't get it. But I usually don't like the slimy and overly strong oyster flavor and there was NONE of that. They were soft but not slimy. We actually ended up mixing the two sauces together in each shell and it was so so good. I highly recommend this!

Yelp
We enjoyed lunch on the patio with water views. I ordered a crab Louie salad and they did not skimp on the crab. The grilled rockfish plate was just okay though. The clam chowder was tasty. This was a good spot overall - clean, nice service and dog friendly.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday afternoon around 2, there were plenty of outdoor seating and the staff was friendly and made good suggestions about the menu. I got the prawn po boy sandwich with coleslaw. The choices for the sides were chips, potato salad, or coleslaw. The prawn was tasty and fresh. If it's not fresh, I tend to get allergic reactions, but not with this place. The cold slaw was just a typical coleslaw. I also got oysters on the shell, but the flavor was pretty blend, not briney or sweet either. It doesn't really have a taste to it. Overall, might come back again in the future if I didn't know where to go or not feeling adventurous.

Yelp
We were driving through Fort Bragg around lunchtime and decided to stop here -- and I'm so glad we did! From the moment we arrived, it was a 10/10 experience. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the food came out quickly. My mom was thrilled with the variety of gluten-free options, and the gluten-free bun was so tasty -- I couldn't even tell it was gluten-free! They really stuff the bun with crab, so you're definitely getting your money's worth. The grilled oysters were some of the best I've ever had, and I also tried the seared ahi bowl. The tuna was flavorful, and everything was so fresh! We sat on the cute outdoor patio with a great view and plenty of heaters to keep us warm. Highly recommend this place for both the food and the amazing service! I hope I'm able to come back here one day!

Yelp
Wish I could have stayed to eat here but I had to grab my food to go. It's a walk-up order place and they bring the food to your table. If you do want to stay to eat, make sure you're ready to sit outside. The view is great and there are wind blocks on the back deck. My poke bowl was fine but I wasn't overly impressed. A friend who lives nearby said the Rockfish sandwich is a draw and what he usually gets.

Yelp
I had a late lunch here on a Sunday afternoon and I was surprised that there were no lines. We placed our order and received our food within 10 minutes. The blackened rockfish sandwich was exceptional! So much flavor packed into each bite with a nice smokiness. We also ordered a dozen oysters for about $32 to share. For dessert, we went with the beehive pastry. It tasted like a honey doughnut with slivered almonds and stuffed with Bavarian cream. I loved that for a seafood restaurant on the water, they have options that are not just fried. I would definitely return!

Yelp
If you are in Fort Bragg, this is definitely a place to try. We got a variety of things but everything was good, especially the crab roll and the strawberry beer. Staff are quick and friendly and you can sit by the water for a beautiful view. Will definitely come back next time in the area!

Yelp
We had read about Princess Seafood, a female owned and operated company of fisherwomen and just had to stop while we were at the Fort Bragg marina. With Two locations - restaurant and a fresh seafood store, which we opted for to be able to eat lunch and buy dinner for later. I definitely wanted a dozen oysters and a beer while wifey got the crab sandwich. Plus we got a quart of clam chowder, a lb of sashimi grade yellowtail and some lingcod to have for dinner. The oysters were OUTSTANDING! Was concerned the chipotle bath would cover the fresh oysters flavor but was not the case...cooked to perfection with a lovely tenderness. I gobbled them up. The clam chowder at lunch the following day was among the best we'd had on the coast and the yellowtail was quickly seared for dinner topped with a light soy wine sauce. Wish I had bought more! The lingcod was baked over a camp fire in foil with onions and was very tender and tasty. I WANT MORE but I live a thousand miles away

Yelp
HOLY MACARONI. we came here super hungry while on one of the last legs of our 77 hour long road trip. I'm pretty sure one of the owners helped us but my husband only found this place and suggested it because my dogs a princess We each got the crab sandwich. There is SO much crab. I also bought some king salmon and a crab for my mom, and some oysters for us to take home. We ate the sandwiches in the car and *chefs kiss*. I cannot recommend them enough. I asked for her rec on my side and she said she liked the potato salad even though she normally doesn't like potato salad. Well, my logic is if you like it and you work there, I will too... especially since I'm also not a fan of potato salad. IT WAS GOOD. We saved the clam chowder for when we got to my mom's and you could taste the love they put into their food. If we're back up here, definitely going to return!

Yelp
Overall a decent experience. The restaurant has a nice rustic feel to it with great views of the water and heat lamps because it gets COLD with the exposed layout of the place. The servers were nice and friendly. As for the food, we got Lobster bisque: 5/5 Savory and creamy, nice and buttery. I personally liked this better than the clam chowder but fam preferred the clam chowder. Kimchi crab cakes: 5/5 I liked the flavor combination and thought it was good if not a little small. Dungeness crab roll: 5:5 A little salty, but otherwise really good. A hefty portion of crab in there, too. Clam chowder: 4/5 I thought it was okay, but my parents loved it. Wished there were more pieces of clam in it. Rockfish tacos: 4/5 Solid chunk of fish. Would have preferred a little more seasoning.

Yelp
While enjoying a long weekend away at the coast, my husband and I made our way to Princess Seafood Restaurant for a late lunch. Despite being past the typical lunch hour, there was quite a line to order, however, it moved quickly. Once we got up to the register, we placed our order for some octopus and shrimp ceviche, a bowl of clam chowder, a rockfish, Philly cheesesteak and a shrimp Poboy. Since they are still recovering from the devastating fire, we found a table out on the make-shift patio in an enclosed tent. It was a cool and breezy day, but they had space heaters to keep us warm. Once our food arrived, we dug in. All of the seafood was so fresh and delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed the ceviche and the shrimp Poboy. If you're looking to support a local, woman-run business, I would definitely recommend coming to Princess Seafood.

Yelp
We stopped in at Princess Seafood on recommendation from a local while visiting the area. We also asked a local what to order It took a while to get our food (so don't be in a hurry) but we had a great view of the harbor from the deck bar seating and it was warm and beautiful outside despite it being mid-50's in November. We were visited by a curious seal who stopped to watch us for a few minutes. Given the time of day, the picture of that seal isn't great, but it was amazing to see. I did not order the clam chowder, but someone nearby did, and it looked delicious.

Yelp
A very pleasant and enjoyable meal! The crab sandwich and the steak sandwich were very yummy. And the local Kombucha was excellent (flower spell was the flavor we tried).

Yelp
I'm huge on customer service, to me, even a smile goes a long way ...I wish the cashier was more friendly but thankfully I really enjoyed the food so it made up for that. The michi I didn't expect to be so good I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed it. The lemon garnish and the tajin rim was really nice. I've had some bad michis and this was a really good one. This is the third sea food restaurant we went to in the Noyo area and this for me tied with the Noyo seafood restaurant, but I think the chowder here was the best of the 3. The consistency was thicker but not too thick it was creamy, flavorful and most importantly the ingredients were portioned perfectly and didn't overpower one another. It was PIPING hot which I appreciated because being out in the coastal weather your food can get cold fast with the breeze. The crab sandwhich was warm and delicious they're not stingy with the crab it was enough to share It was so good! Of all the restaurants here this one has the best view! You can easily miss this restaurant because it's way at the end of the parking area. Side note: I love that they have self serve water and dog bowls as well

Yelp
The fish tacos are out of this world! Nice deck with a great view. Friendly staff. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Feels like a true hole-in-the-wall (...or restaurant-on-a-pier?). Detailed breakdown below: **Service, 5/5** Self service so you order at the window then take your number to your table, but staff is really friendly and pretty efficient! Tables are cleared often and there's tons of seating with fresh air and great views. Also dog-friendly! **Price & portion, 5/5** Prices seemed a smidge steep, but the quality of all the food really speaks for itself. It's simple, no frills good food. **Taste of the food, 5/5** After driving through the maze of metal shacks, trailers, and crowded parking lots to get to the restaurant, I wasn't expecting too much, but oh boy can looks be deceiving! I was pleasantly surprised to find the spacious, bustling restaurant with views of the water. And the food was fantastic too! - Clam chowder in a bread bowl, 5/5: Super thick with fantastic flavor and a delicious fresh bread bowl to soak everything up. I think this easily tops Boudin in SF. - Shrimp po boy, 6/5: The shrimp here was perfectly cooked and bouncy (tough to do when it can overcook super quickly!), MASSIVE, very well seasoned, and balanced super well with the fresh veggies and toasty bread. This was so easy to scarf down and was both light and satisfying! - Crab roll, 5/5: Also perfectly cooked and balanced -- another fantastic sandwich! Only items I weren't a big fan of were the cocktails. Both too sweet and too strong and generally unbalanced; you're probably better off with a beer here. **Other notes** Parking can be rough here, maybe try avoiding peak dining hours.

Yelp
Really good customer service! The lady that took my order was very very nice although I did not catch their name. We took our order to go and she was kind enough to bring out the order for us when it was done. (3/5) I ordered the grilled cod plate (blackened) with a side of salad and some bread. The fish is a bit small in my opinion for what i paid for. I think it also lacked in flavor. The crab sandwich (4/5): the crab was good but didn't have enough of flavor the sweet flavor. The mayo was overpowering it. and the bread had a nice crunch to it, but not a lot of meat. Lobster bisque (5/5): this was acrually my favorite thing I ordered! Really yummy lobster flavor The ambiance was also really nice! They have lots of outdoor and some indoor seating. I sat at a spot where you can look at the water!

Lauren C.

Yelp
Delicious and fresh seafood, great staff and a wonderful atmosphere right on the water. Strongly recommend this place.

Yelp
We came here for a Thursday lunch during our road trip through Fort Bragg. It's situated close to the water with plenty of outdoor seating overlooking the Noyo River and harbor. Since it was a beautiful sunny day, we sat at an outdoor counter spot with a nice view of the bridge carrying Highway 1 over the river. We ordered the Humboldt Bay Oysters on the half shell, Crab Roll with potato salad, and the Seafood Louie with Dungeness Crab & Bay Shrimp. Humboldt Bay Oysters (4/5): Served over salt rocks and with a lemon wedge and mignonette, these oysters are from Humboldt Bay (~3 hours north of Fort Bragg) and have a relatively more intense briny and ocean flavor. I'd recommend these if you love sliding thick grey amorphous globs of gooey mollusk down your throat. Crab Roll (5/5): This was our favorite dish -- the Dungeness crab tastes so fresh with its tender, stringy texture and sweet pure crustacean flavor. There's not too much sauce which lets the crab really shine through as the star of the show. The roll itself is smothered in melted butter, and the sliced tomatoes add just enough acidity to balance things out. Seafood Louie (4/5): That succulent, moan-inducing crab meat is paired with a colony of little Bay Shrimp sea bugs in this salad. These curled tiny bright pink suckers have a nice meaty bite. The rest of the salad has diced tomatoes and cucumbers, sliced boiled eggs, avocado, and thousand island dressing, all served over a bed of romaine lettuce. The eggs were a little dry though, and I wouldn't say the veggies were bursting with freshness. While the food was delicious, it did take about half an hour for it to come out. I also wish they'd add a small barrier at the counter seating to prevent your food, napkins, or belongings from going straight overboard into the water, especially when it's windy. Overall, would definitely recommend if you're around the Mendocino Coast and looking for fresh seafood!

Yelp
Stopped by for our last dinner in Ft. Bragg. We wanted seafood again and Princess Seafood was recommended in addition to a couple of other places, so we came. It's a very casual spot where you order at the counter and they bring the food to you. I got the grilled rock cod plate and it came with a green salad and grilled bread. The fish was fresh and delicious and the piece was big. There was more than enough for me to be stuffed and satisfied. My friend had the crab roll, but she wasn't very happy about the amount of crab in it. For $18, it came with a handful of potato chips. My other friend had the lobster bisque and was disappointed that there weren't any chunks of lobster in it, but it was flavorful. No regrets in trying Princess Seafood. It was good enough for a return visit if I come this way again.
google avatar

Alexis U.

Yelp
They have two locations in Noyo harbor. One is their catch of the day fresh seafood with BBQ (oysters and crab), and the second location is their actual restaurant (full menu, tacos and bay shrimp). Both locations were amazing! Food was fresh, great portions, great prices, and great staff. This was a recommendation from a local bartender at Overtime Brewery.

Yelp
Be prepared to come at opening if you want lunch without too long of a wait. On a Friday, we came 3 minutes after opening and still ended up waiting 20 minutes to order. There are signs posted on the restaurant that they can take some time to get orders out, but it is somewhat heartening to know that they send orders out in the same order that they receive them. Seating is quite plentiful, but the nice seats by the water are quickly snagged up. As for the food, for seafood, this restaurant serves fairly priced dishes. I don't usually get to enjoy a grilled cod for 18 dollars. Out of my friends' orders, most people didn't seem super satisfied with the flavors of their dishes. However, I think the rock cod was quite tasty and fresh while the oysters were nice and smooth. The sesame ginger dressing was surprisingly great because it was sweet, flavorful, and tangy in contrast with the other items. I wouldn't say this is the best seafood I had, but at its price point, it was quite satisfying.

Yelp
Be warned to get here on time or there will be a line. This place is so popular. We got there earlier than opening so decided to walk around a bit. Got in line 3 minutes after opening and there were already 20+ people there. I ended up trying one of their specials, the ahi tuna bowl since the cashier recommended it. The tuna itself was good. The sauce was okay and the other items like cucumber, seaweed, fava beans and rice were basic. My friends got the cod plate + the lobster rolls and they said they were okay too. There's a lot of outdoor seating and is first come first serve. We were able to find some seating with an umbrella, so my friends got the shade while I enjoyed the sun a little bit. It did get a little windy when we were by the water, but nothing too bad!
google avatar

Rachel L.

Yelp
Seating on dock, informal, on water, faint sound of fog horn in distance. The absolute best BBQ oysters I've ever had. I will be back all summer I promise! Lobster bisque was served hot with just a little bit of sherry, very nice. Service is super friendly. Thank you for a perfect lunch!

Yelp
Uniqueness: Nice seafood restaurant right underneath the bridge. Do note they don't have a fryer here, so no fish and chips! Wait Time: [x][x][x][x][ ] Food Quality: [x][x][x][x][x] Service: [x][x][x][x][x] Setting: [x][x][x][x][ ] Cost: [x][x][x][x][ ] Recommendation? Their grilled rockfish taco was out of this world for a simply dish. Lobster bisque is also a nice alternative to the traditional clam chowder! Tucked away underneath the bridge overseeing the Noyo river in a little harbor town in Fort Bragg right at the very end of the road, Princess Seafood Restaurant is a quaint little seafood restaurant that serves excellent seafood here for sit-down or take out. We came here during the brunch time and wait time was non-existent and wait time for the meal to come out was around 15-20 min. We ordered the grilled rockfish taco and a bowl of lobster bisque and my expectations for the taco were well below what I was expecting these tacos to be. The fish was perfectly grilled and seasoned (plus big portions too!) and was spectacularly delicious, far better than my usual alternative of a fried fish taco. The bisque was warm and savory, perfect instead of getting clam chowder here. I was also planning to get some fish and chips here but apparently they don't have a fryer so that was a bit odd (their other restaurant has a fryer and fish and chips so nothing to fret there). Service was nice and quick and didn't have any issue coming here. A bit far to get to but well worth the time and drive to get down to Princess Seafood Restaurant. High recommendations that you give this place a try if you haven't done so already.

Yelp
Go here for Seafood... Do not worry about going anywhere else - You will be happy you came.... Get the Baked Oysters or Crab Roll. Ceviche is ok, but not worth it, but Clam Chowder is nice too. Closes at 6pm most nites....

Yelp
We loved this place so much, we went two days in a row! Seriously, the Dungeness Crab Sandwich was to die for! I will be dreaming of this sandwich....On top of that, dogs are welcome - so a huge hit for me!
google avatar

Brian D.

Yelp
Shrimp poor boy was fresh and delicious The lobster bisque was good but incomparable to the NE clam chowder... and Yes!!! We had both! Yum Also had a crab filled bread dish that was very tasty. This restaurant comes highly recommended and if I drove north again I'd want to return for sure!
google avatar

Yelp
It was okay. Good food, clean place, nice staff. I got the Slatefish Plate, which was yummy and buttery. The mango salsa really enhances it! The view was very cool, watching the wildlife play out.
google avatar

Tricia M.

Yelp
I shouldn't have ordered the Dungeness crab roll - although she did let me know when I ordered it that it was not in season so would be from frozen. I had my heart set on crab so that's what we got and it had more mayo flavor than I am used to and just wasn't my favorite. Not a New England style crab roll. I would order something else next time.

Yelp
Perfect lunch spot with the doggo! Amazing views along the waters. Fresh oysters, delicious clam chowder along with michelada! I love that it's women owned and staffed.

Yelp
Note that there are 2 Princess Seafood - one that's the market and sells select items and then this one. We of course accidentally ended up at the other one first... Came here for lunch. You order at the counter and there are plenty of seats. We sat on the patio because we wanted a view. For lunch, we got: - Oysters: good, wish they were cheaper though - Clam chowder: really good. nice on a chilly day - Grilled local rock cod sandwich: it was alright. It would have used more flavor - West coast crab roll: it was alright as well. Could have used more flavor. Overall, nice coastal restaurants, but the sandwiches, which was our main meal was a little underwhelming.

Yelp
We stopped in for a quick snack and beer, definitely recommend! The view of Noyo is really nice and was a beautiful day to sit on the deck listening to live music. You walk up and order your food, then pick your seat. We tried a few samples of the draft beer and were glad we did since neither of us liked the Kokuz(sp?) Ale. We both got the Boont Amber and was very tasty beer. I've been craving oysters so we got a half dozen oysters on the half shell. I would of prefered cocktail sauce and horseradish so their dipping sauce was just ok for me personally. We also got one rock fish taco, which was really good. I would recommend that and order again. All in all is a cool spot to relax on the water.

Yelp
Recommended to visit this spot by a winery we visited earlier in the day. Long line but it went by fast. You order at the counter and then find a spot to sit, which they had plenty of during the dinner time. Ordered a crab dip, lobster roll and oysters. All very good and decently priced. Didn't have to wait too long for the food either. Would definitely visit again if in the area.

Yelp
A place to eat outside and enjoy the view of the Noya Lake as this merges with the ocean!

Yelp
Five out of five all the way around. I also love that this establishment is woman owned and ran and even the ones who catch the food are women.. I think that's amazing. Had the Lobster bisque which was to die for and had the crab sandwich which was so fresh, and so tasty. From here on out, I will make sure I always stop here to support and enjoy some Awesome food. The restaurant was located right on the water front and gave you that Dawson Creek kinda feel. We sat outside in the rain, but under a heated tent it was absolutely perfect.

Yelp
First of all, the Princess Seafood Restaurant doesn't serve grilled oysters from the market (which was a bummer). Do your due diligence - grilled oysters are in the market only. There were some hits and many misses for me in the menu. The oysters (from Humboldt Bay) were sweet, briny and perfectly accompanied by their punchy mignonette. The lobster bisque was also exceptional - very rich and deeply lobster flavored. All the fresh seafood was disappointing - skip the tacos and nachos for sure. The crab sandwich had a very sad winter tomato slice and like two lumps of crab meat total - the rest being shredded dried out crab without enough sauce to keep it together. Service was fast and friendly. And although this meal was seasoned with starvation from a long drive down the coast, it still missed the mark for me.

Yelp
We arrived and beat a rush so we were able to get great seats outside by the water. We got the oysters, and I got a half crab sandwich with a cup of lobster bisque and a blood orange margarita. Such a great place with live music and great food.

Yelp
The menu is very simple which I like. The clam chowder was super thick and wasn't great. The grilled fish tacos were very good. The west coast crab roll was decent but nothing special. I expected better food based on the reviews. I do like that the fish in the tacos isn't fried.

Yelp
Clam chowder and sourdough were on point. Beautiful views and kind wait staff. Would recommend!

Yelp
We got there right when it opened on a Thursday. There were already people waiting and more people came after we got there too which made me feel like we made a good choice in restaurant choice! Service was good and food was served pretty quickly. I can see this place being very busy during the weekend or during the busy season. We ordered: 1 raw dozen oysters - delicious, I am not sure what type of oysters these were but they were very fresh. The mignonette was simple could have had more to it. The 1/2 crab sandwich with clam chowder - big chunks of crab in the sandwich and the chowder had so much flavor! Kimchi crab cakes with garlic bread and coleslaw - very hearty crab cakes with lots of crab and not with a bunch of fillers like other crab cakes I've had. The kimchi wasn't overpowering but added good flavor. Coleslaw was okay but it was a good addition to the crab cakes and bread. Loved the overlook of the harbor from the outside seating area! I would definitely return if I am ever in Fort Brag!

Yelp
We had the clam chowder, prawn rice bowl and oysters. All super fresh and delicious. The staff was incredibly friendly and the outdoor seating deck was comfy and right on the water!

Yelp
We came here for lunch while visiting Fort Bragg and this was hands down our favorite meal of our weekend trip! There is a parking lot in front of the restaurant which made parking easy. When we entered, there was a quick line to order - we decided to go with clam chowder in a bread bowl and fish tacos. We received a number and chose a table to sat down at. There was a choice of outdoor seating overlooking the water or a warm tent with live music and heaters. We decided to go with the tent and enjoyed the music while we waited. The food took about 25 minutes (they warn you beforehand) but it was worth the wait!! The clam chowder came piping hot with the bread bowl being perfectly buttered with garlic. The fish tacos were deliciously spiced. We very much enjoyed our meal and hope to come back again soon!!
