"What began as a woman-owned-and-operated commercial fishing boat (“The Princess”) has evolved into a seafood market deli. There’s both a fish case selling locally caught and sashimi-grade seafood and a small menu of deli items, including excellent clam chowder and grilled Humboldt Bay oysters with either a bourbon barbecue sauce (which has a surprising kick) or a lemon-garlic butter. Not far away, Princess has a full-service restaurant with a wide deck overlooking Noyo Harbor, where there are 12 beers on tap and grilled fish specialties — they do not have a fryer — like local rockfish tacos on either corn or flour tortillas, pickled onion, cabbage, and a side of black beans (mango salsa optional), or a crab roll with a quarter-pound of Dungeness crab on a buttered roll. Live music on weekends adds to the atmosphere." - Freda Moon
