Promenade Artisan Foods Is Opening Inside the Historic Fisher Building in Detroit - Eater Detroit

"Trenton-based Promenade Artisan Foods, owned by Chelsie and Jono Brymer, opens its second Detroit location at the Fisher Building in New Center on Thursday, February, 18. The cafe replaces Fisher Bakery at the building and serves sandwiches, salads, quiche, croissants, and macarons and other sweet treats. As part of a sneak peek on Fat Tuesday, Promenade plans pop-up in the new location offering its signature craczki — a croissant take on the traditional paczki doughnut. While it ramps up service at the Fisher Building, the cafe will only open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursdays until March 18, when the dining room opens. Once fully open in mid-March, expect breakfast and lunch to be served at the cafe. Grab-and-go dinners and catering will also be available. [Official]" - BethMcKibben

This is one of those places that instantly makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in. The food is always fresh, delicious, and clearly made with care — from the pastries to the coffee, everything is consistently on point. What really makes this place special though is Tiffany. She is absolutely amazing — friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. She goes out of her way to make sure customers are happy and always brings such a positive energy. You can tell she truly cares about people and takes pride in what she does. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick coffee or sitting down to enjoy a treat, Tiffany makes the experience feel personal and memorable. It’s rare to find service like that these days, and it’s the reason I keep coming back. Highly recommend Bakery Café — great food, great atmosphere, and outstanding service thanks to Tiffany.

Great hidden cafe' with a secret glass door entrance off of W. Grand Blvd. Chefs heart goes into the pressed sandwiches and baked goods that will wake up your senses, the Baristas are pleasant and really love making a perfect cup of aqua heaven for you, hot or cold...you can't help but fall in love with this spot! Bon Appetite !

Google
Omg the reviews do not do this place justice!!! Let me start off with the warm greetings they give when you walk in. So nice. Then the amazing smells that hit you as soon as you walk in. Fantastic! I got the lemon bar, the chocolate chip cookie, a breakfast sandwich and a kale salad with chicken. The lemon bar was so delicious, with a perfect crust, and creamy inside, I ate the whole thing while waiting for my sandwich. The cookie was great as well. The sandwich which they told me was put on bread they bake in house was absolutely delicious. Great crunch, eggs and the other ingredients inside tasted so yummy. The salad tastes fresh and not soggy. The chicken is served cold, but still really good with no weird after taste. Everything was a 10/10 I totally recommend this spot if you’re downtown. I’m in school down here and the service was quick enough for me to order, and still make it with plenty of time to get back to class. I will definitely be back daily. I’m praying I get my clinical’s close by so I can come back after this class term.

I’ve been here a few times for lunch and usually order the Kale Chicken Caesar salad with some extra toppings and it is SO fresh. A bit pricey but worth the money for their portion size and health benefits. Service is pretty quick too. Definitely a new favorite!

Google
Good selection of signature sandwiches and soup; I really enjoy the tomato basil. London Broil and French Ham Sandwich (Jambon-buerre) are my favorites as well as the Kale Caesar Salad which you can add chicken to. Pastries are also enjoyable (try the sea salt chocolate chip cookie or their blue berry muffins) Of course, the staff is great and always cheerful and welcoming.

Google

Google
This artisan French bistro's aesthetic is so charming and trendy. Walked here from work and totally worth the walk. All the food is prepared in-house and is so fresh. I love their Chicken Caesar Salad and lemon bars! Lots of drinks options with different flavoring add-on options. They are located in the Fisher building. If you work nearby and are tired of the same food options, check this place out for lunch!

Yelp
Wide selection with pastries changing up so it's always something different. Personal favorites are the spicy breakfast sandwich w/ fresh fruit & pan au chocolate! They also have the cutest little vendor items always switching up their goods as well.

Yelp
I had lunch here and it was really good. They have a fairly limited menu of sandwiches, salads, breakfast items and pastries. It's more of a coffee shop than restaurant. I had a ham sandwich on fresh baked bread, side salad and one of their pastries. Everything was excellent. I recommend it if you're in the area.

Yelp
I visited Promenade Artisan Foods during a Yelp Elite event. The service was fantastic. Everyone was friendly. The layout is a bit confusing. They could also use different signage to highlight menu items. After ordering a drink, I noticed, handwritten on a glass partition, a drink that I would rather have had. My original drink order hadn't been prepared as of yet, so I was able to switch. I appreciated the accommodation. The eggnog/coffee drink is a delightful concoction. Definitely give it a try if you like both drinks. I noticed lots of pastries and unique sandwiches. The menu is certainly what I'd call "artisan". Prices are moderate and comparable with other like establishments. The little cafe is a great addition to the vibe of the building.

Yelp
The food is amazing! My go to is the greens salad! The balsamic dressing is addicting. I just had the kale Caesar and with the balsamic and chicken is something I'm craving as I write this. Customer service is always great too! Ambiance is a nice coffee shop for the week day.

Yelp
Promenade Artisan Foods is in the space previously occupied by City Bakery in the Fisher Building. Although the restaurant is under new ownership, the concept and food offered are similar to before. It has a European café feel with breakfast and lunch offerings like sandwiches, croissants, and pastries. So far I've tried the rosemary shortbread and the breakfast sandwich. The rosemary shortbread was very buttery with a hint of salt and sweetness. The breakfast sandwich is very filling. It's basically an omelet filled with cheese, bacon, and spinach between two slices of ciabatta. It comes with fruit and whipped cream. Everything is delicious and of high quality. The service is very friendly as well. Since I work in this area I will be stopping by to try other menu items.

Yelp
Well walking into the Fisher building I was already amazed by all of the Christmas decorations and beautiful architecture! So this little coffee, food and pastry shop was very modern but still unique! Service was great, happy to be there and have customers! I wish I lived in the city to experience places like this more often!

Yelp
Another gem with in the Fisher building. This quaint little shop is perfect for a nice quiet experience. The food looked amazing - too bad I already ate. The staff was friendly and worked diligently, as I waited for my cookies. I appreciated that he opportunity to explore their menu for my return trip with company!

Yelp
Really inconsistent portions. Food tastes ok, but the large salad ($12) gives you the same amount of salad as the medium salad ($5).

Yelp
This is a wonderful place to come for breakfast, brunch, or lunch when Downtown! The inside is clean and bright and even the walk inside the building is beautiful. The food is all made from scratch every morning and heated per order! Scones, muffins, brownies, cinnamon rolls, cookies, quiche (most days) sandwiches, soups, salads, etc. I love finding their baked treats around other local shops as well since they do wholesale now. The menu is smaller, but I enjoy that they do seasonal drinks and menu changes, it keeps things fresh and interesting! The staff has always been very kind and accommodating to requests as much as able. A good spot to come to study, do work, meet a friend, or just have a "treat yourself" day!

Yelp
I never ever write review's because I'm lazy. But wowowowowo this place is amazing. The spicy breakfast sandwich was so good the bread was perfectly crunchy and the flavors were amazing. Also the iced turmeric and ginger latte is addicting. Staff was so friendly and inviting and the atmosphere was great definitely will be back.

Yelp
Delicious and quick service! Breads and sauces and dressings are all made in-house. Coffee is awesome, too. Fisher Building is SPECTACULAR.

Yelp
My son and I ate lunch there today, and we could not have been more pleased with the food and service. Both staff members were extremely personable and were willing to engage in conversation and share more about the process for preparing the food. I could tell the lemonade was freshly made -- and the grilled cheese sandwich blew me away. It was the best I have ever had! The menu has plenty to choose from, including unique items, like a lemonade cold brew coffee. I am eager to go back and try their other entrees and pastries.

Stephanie L.

Yelp
The most perfect little gem! If you are able to go see a show at the Fischer stopping into Promanade first is a must! The best coffee, treats, and CREPES! The Trenton location is my go to brunch spot, you won't find better food or service. Do yourself a favor, you won't be disappointed at either location.

Yelp
Very tasty & fresh pastries, lunch and breakfast sandwiches; tomato soup is the bomb, fresh basil added to a creamy fresh soup you can tell is hand made! A reward system that gets you a free pastry after acquiring so many stars... I really am impressed with the quality of the food and the staff interactions with the customers is awesome... Plus the Fisher Building is worth a visit. They have a Trenton location but I have not visited that one.

Sarah L.

Yelp
Their breakfast sandwiches are very delicious but I always come here for their chocolate zucchini bread. Sooooo good!!

Yelp
Fantastic staff, food, and coffee! The menu changes pretty regularly, so there's almost always something new or fun to try. The pastries are out of this world as well--definitely worth the trip just for a scone!
