Pronto Pizzeria

This place is a quintessential neighborhood pizza joint that just happens to also serve upscale Italian food. Absolutely phenomenal short ribs. Pizza was great, too. Cozy place to eat if you decide to dine in. I suspect most of business is takeout as there are only a few tables inside and not a lot of room. Service was prompt and very friendly. Pizza Pronto is a hidden gem and a true “must try”.

I ordered this old school style - on the phone for pick up! Was so hungry but wasn’t feeling anything nearby. Decided to go for a walk and scooped this along the way. Service was really nice and considerate. They’re quick too. Food was delicious! It was so good I saved Bae half of it, warmed it up for him later and gave it to him. He really liked it as well. Will definitely be back.

Can’t brag about this place enough, food is delicious, tastes very homey and made with love. Their tomato sauce is semi sweet, not acid just perfect. Tastes like nana is cooking in the back herself

I randomly stopped here for a slice earlier this week while in the area, and was pleasantly surprised . This is a small pizza shop, but has very quaint, aesthetics and seating. I ordered a pizza slice with pepperoni and a seltzer. There was an outdoor seating area of which I took advantage of in the inclement weather(it was raining but not freezing). I enjoyed my slice under their canopy accompanied by soft music that can be heard from what I think is an outdoor speaker. The pizza was very delicious and not overcooked which I appreciate . Very nice place. I’ll definitely return if I’m in the area.

Pronto Pizzeria lives up to its "fine" dining experience as advertised! The owner & staff went over & above their chef duties & truly customized a most delicious dish for my wife & I - since she eats gluten free! & it was super delicious! They made us gluten free pasta with a pesto & cream sauce, broccoli rabe w/garlic, & a specially made tomato sauce paste appetizer w/celery & carrot sticks! Incredible! It's a small restaurant/pizzeria with super delicious food! We loved the owner & staff even more!

The restaurant is small but nice. The owner and the staff were all super friendly and polite. We ate pizza and a sandwich. The sandwich lacked sauces and a bit of filling. The taste it self was fine but was a bit dry. The pizza was good, enough material on it, but I find it that it should be balanced a bit better ingredients wise. All in all I would recommend the pizzeria if you are in the neighbourhood.

Pronto is a small little hidden gem away from the hustle and bustle of Astoria and New York. The staff is very personal due to the size of the establishment. The food is just amazing all the time, love their Pasta!

Love this place! Everything from pizza, salads, and entrees are excellent! Just like most places I wish they can lower the music. I come there to eat a nice meal in peace and I'm not going to a disco. The loud disco music is a turnoff.

Absolutely the best cafe/bistro/fine dining/ everything!! Pronto is a great place for me to get a cappucunio during the day while I write in their cafe or it can be the perfect restuarant to take family and friends to for a delicious Italian dinner at night. Patricio always takes such good care of me and even suggested some different wines for me the other day. My palate is totally expanded now! I always feels so safe and happy here and the food- literally every food item is DELICIOUS. I recently had the chicken francese and the flavors and textures were out of this world. Great rice balls, grandma slices too. It's just an A+++ for me. Thank you for existing!

I can not recommend this place enough. The food is truly amazing. Every dish tastes like a hug from an Italian grandma. My husband and I eat here very often so we have tried almost everything on the menu. His favorite dish is the baked ziti. Mine is the spaghetti meatball parmigiana. Service is always the best. Super friendly and hospitable. The ambiance is very homey and sweet. Perfect for a casual date night or family dinner.

Staying nearby and decided to order for delivery. We had Caprese which was a generous portion, Wedding soup and Tortellini Brodo. The Tortellini Brodo was delicious! They also delivered very promptly. I would recommend them and would try different dishes next time.

Pronto is my place to go when I'm in the area. Grandma pizza is my go to, especially when it's hot fresh out the oven :drooling while typing: I have also tried their rice balls, tortellini e brodo, and I have to say those are pretty up there on the taste board. Needless to say, you gotta try it for yourself.

Food was good but the service was horrible. The waitress was too busy talking to a customer outside for 10 minutes while our order was on the counter.

Decided to try them again... It's a shame. The food here is incredible. I'd probably go on a weekly basis if it wasn't for a small problem Why the poor review? Well, I don't think the staff want non-drinkers at night, but rather than having some policy they're just really rude and will try to rush you off, even if the entire place is empty. Very unprofessional. So, unless you're a drinker, I'd avoid the place for eat in, except maybe for takeout.

I ate at this place twice. Once to sit down and eat, the other time to get a slice of pizza. The owner here is very rude. First time, when I came to sit down and eat, he gave me a dirty table and was ignoring me when I asked to be seated. There was no one else in the restaurant. He also forgot to bring the table appetizer. Just today, I ordered pizza to go. When the pizza came out, he just gave me the pizza and when I asked for a bag to put the pizza in. He just threw the bag on the counter. Basically, telling me to put the pizza in the bag myself. I don't mind doing it, but this dude is rude. He also doesn't wear his mask in the restaurant and I've seen him breathe heavily over other peoples food when sending it over. Also the food is beyond mediocre for the price. DO NOT COME HERE. Support another local business in the area. I'm never coming here again.

This place is truly a gem. A short walk from the main "drag" of shops in Astoria and the nicest people you will ever meet. Not to mention the most important thing, some of the most delicious Italian food I've ever had! We had the Chicken Piccatta, the Tiramisu, and the lasagna. That lasagna has crept into my dreams! The homemade pasta just melted in your mouth. It had to be one of the top five things I have ever eaten. The owner and his wife were so welcoming and kind - chatting with us about their travels and the story of their restaurant. They even brought out the cook who made the lasagna so my husband could shake his hand! :-P

Total 5 star. WAS ABOUT TO ORDER ON SEAMLESS. seamless time was way too long. So I called and asked how long it will really be. the man that answered the phone asked depends on what you order and how far you are....duhhhhh...he's right. So I say few blocks away and buffalo chicken pizza. He says 30-35 min. *Seamless time was 60-75 min*.. It took prob the seamless time. BUTTTTTT.... The guy in the restaurant on the phone wrote a message to me on the inside of the pizza box (added to photos). So what would have been a maybe 3 star-4 star review if I was a winey new York yelper (but I'm not) IS FIVE STAR REVIEW. Btw I would have never left a review without this message. That was a nice touch. Fantastic job to the guy in the restaurant, love that you took the time. KUDOS....and yess the buffalo chicken pizza was amazing and so was the rice ball. And it was totally fresh. Love pronto. Not my first order and not the last.

Phoned in an order and was told my order would be delivered in 40 minutes. Instead, Pronto, delivered Pronto in less than 20 minutes!Needless to say, I was very impressed. I ordered their Pasta Emiliane, broccoli, garlic knots and a salad. Copious portions of food that were freshly made and piping hot. Mushrooms were fresh, not canned and pasta was well seasoned. I had ordered from there awhile ago, and I would not hesitate to order from them in the future. Delivery guy was friendly and efficient. I look forward to ordering other items on their menu in the future.

This review is of the food I ordered for delivery to my stay at the Fairfield Inn in Astoria. I had a late arrival to the hotel, and an early morning departure from LGA, and the front desk recommended this restaurant for Italian delivery. I am so glad I ordered from here! I ended up ordering the buffalo chicken wings, sauteed broccoli, and cannoli, with Pelligrino bottled water. The wings were meh-good enough and filling, but not worth writing home about. The shining stars were definitely the sauteed broccoli and the cannoli! I swear, the broccoli was perfection--perhaps the best I'd ever had! I could have just eaten the broccoli and cannoli (I know, a weird combination), and I could have been very happy! If I had a bigger appetite, I'd have tried a pizza, too, but I was *trying* to be good on my last night of traveling. Bottom line, for no guilt, get the broccoli--it's delicious, and good portion! Enjoy!

I think this place could be a best pizza place in Astoria. When my mom visited us, she wanted to eat pizza. We found this place in our nabourhood. If it's in Manhattan, we would go to Prince street pizza but we don't always feel like to travel there. Haven't tried their pasta yet so that's going to be my next mission. Today, we orderd large pepperoni pizza delivered. Took about 25min to get delivery. Pizza was great but it didn't come with any plates, folks, knives, napkins or plastic bag. Literally only a pizza in the box. Was little disappointed.

I usually order a small personal pizza and get broccoli rab on top, so good. Pronto is closeby and my pizza comes really quickly and it's always piping hot and delicious

So this was around the corner from the AirBnb we stayed at and the host recommended. I'm always looking for great pizza and I'm staying in a city known for it. We didn't get "new York style" but got the chicken bacon ranch because it sounded really good. There's only a $3 between smalls and larges so we went with large. This pizza, DAMN!!!! They clearly use fresh mozzarella rather than packaged and melts perfectly. The chicken is like fried chicken strips, with whole slices of bacon not the little chunks. I'm usually the type that eats about half a pie when eating pizza, I could only eat a slice and a half. I hope I'm back for another round at some point in my life. recommend to anyone near Astoria/Queens

Hidden gem in Astoria. I have always passed this restaurant and never stopped in until yesterday. The atmosphere inside is wonderful perfect for a nice quiet dinner. Service was absolutely wonderful our server recommended the special which was Halibut on top of a lemon risotto. Absolutely delicious the fish was a good portion, cooked perfectly. I will definitely return.

DO NOT ORDER HERE!!!!!!! Worse pizza I ever had in my life. Dough was under cooked , cheese is like plastic & barley any sauce. I called and complained he said he will make me a new pie I been waiting 2 hours now. DONT COME HERE !! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!

Our first time in New York, and this place was a little walk from our Airbnb. Personal pizza is more than expected! The chicken parmigiana was delicious, I got it with a side of pasta with marinara and added a side of the grilled vegetables. I think I could've done it without the pasta. I saw pictures of the grilled veggies and it was as good as it looked! Really enjoyed the food and service was wonderful. We would definitely come back if we are ever back in New York. We ended up taking our food to go to have for later because it was so much food for just 2 people.

The workers are some of the kindest and friendliest people you will ever meet. The pizza is amazing, especially the cheese and buffalo chicken pizzas. And they are pretty large slices! The chicken Parmesan sandwich is to-die-for. The garlic knots are also delicious and cheap. Everything here is delicious, except for maybe the salad. I would not recommend the salad, as it it pretty bland and not worth the price. But definitely come here for some amazing Italian food!

This place is like a roulette wheel. This last time I ordered.......last weekend, I received Penne Vodka and it was like Kraft macaroni & cheese with a more watered down sauce. I'm sorry, but watered down cheese sauce without a tomato base mixed in vodka sauce is not satisfactory. You can see in the photo, it was literally penne pasta with all the watery sauce on the bottom of the plate. I am no cheapskate--but I paid, with delivery and tip, near $17.00. C'mon folks, this is just not right. Also, don't send day-old bread, please. The food was constructed poorly and didn't taste good.

I came in here last week with my girlfriend and we brought our kids. The owner was beyond accommodating to us. We ordered wine, calamari, a roll, salad, and the Capellini pasta. Everything was so good. We will definitely come back because we had a great experience.

Quick delivery and great pizza for the price. Garlic knots were tiny but cute. Cavatelli was a bit heavy for my taste but the sauce and toppings were very good.

Located on a resedential block this looks more of a corner pizzeria from the outside rather then a restaurant. The food is amazing. It's simple grilled food and Italian dishes. You can't go wrong with anything you order. The owner will take your order and he is super friendly. If you can't decide what to order he'll steer you in the right direction. Will be back to try the pizza which looks good.

I miss "Cris" as my server. Always asked for that guy. Exceptional customer service. He must no longer work there, because now the atmosphere just kinda feels different, especially over the telephone. The service is OK, but many times, I'm not sent with plates or napkins when I ask for them, and I order quite frequently. Sometimes even utensils. Fast delivery. The food is phenomenal. Fantastic restaurant, nonetheless.

Not many pizzerias have great quality Italian food but this place does! I've never had something from here that I didn't like. The fettuccine alfredo is our family fav! It's creamy and tasty. Really good with chicken or shrimp. The buffalo wings are delicious! Not drenched in sauce but tasty and VERY spicy (if you don't like spicy, stay away from these). The salads here are great especially the arugula with the lemon vinaigrette and the caesar salad. The chicken piccata is delicious! The sauce is bursting with lemon flavor. Even their regular oil and garlic pasta is amazing LOL...idk what it is that makes it so flavorful. Funny thing is, I've never had a regular slice from here, but I've had the grandma slice and WOW it's good. The chicken rolls are great too. 5 stars!

BEST PIZZA IN ASTORIA. Hands down. Zero competition. Don't be fooled by the pizza places in Astoria with the fancy Instagram posts- they're TRASH in comparison to Pronto. Every single pie/slice I've gotten from here is out of this world. Their specialty pies are heavenly, and so are their sides. I dream about Pronto. I'm not kidding. Stop whatever it is you're doing and order from them right now. I honestly might after I'm done posting this review. LOVE YOU PRONTO! You've been the best thing about my move to Astoria.

Love it here. Pizza is delicious and service + staff is great. Delivery time is also incredibly quick.

I ordered latte and cheeseburger. It is probably the worst Latte I have ever had, espresso burned. As to cheeseburger, it is the slowest burger I have ever waited, but there didn't have any customer at that time. taste of cheeseburger was nauseating, beef tasted funny and burned as well, bread was tough and chewy. Staffs weren't as friendly as those reviewers said.

It's getting harder and harder to order pizza in Astoria. The Domino's on Steinway is horrible and I don't expect alot from Domino's, but when I want real pizza I order from Pronto and they're usually really good, but tonight I felt like I was dealing with Domino's again. I ordered at 4:55pm, called at 6:10pm to find out where my order was and was told that the driver couldn't find the address. He apparently went to 2330 instead of 2830, which is weird cause I ordered online through Seamless so I don't understand how the mistake was made. Anyway, the driver brought the pizza back to the restaurant and I was told they would reheat it and send it back to the correct address. I told them for $30.00 I don't want a reheated pizza and they said they would'nt make a new one. So since I was getting a reheated pizza after an hour and a half, I asked for a discount and was told no. Then I asked for a manager and was told that there was no manager in the restaurant (on a Saturday night at 6:10pm?!). I called Seamless and they took care of the discount, but I won't be ordering from here again.

Great service, always friendly and quick! Got a meatball sub tonight that was massively delicious. Enough for my dinner and lunch tomorrow ten bucks for that quality? Hells yes! Gonna be dangerous living on the same block as these guys :)

It's little things that make or break an experience. Went to place a to go order with Pronto and asked if bread came with the meal. Guy looked at me like I was crazy and said of course. What I should have asked is, "are you all too cheap to include butter with my bread"?! Really guys??? How long have you been in business? Rest of the meal was just okay...

One of my favorites! I have been ordering from here for several years now--both takeout and dine-in and the food and service is always impeccable. The owner and the manager are lovely and always go out of their way to make sure you are satisfied with your meal. All the food is fresh (most important) and delicious. I usually get the grilled salmon with veggies but everything I've gotten is great. Try the arancini if they're available--so good!

Nice little place with just right amount of love and passion put into ambiance as well as the same care taken in preparing a tasty meal. The sauce, sausage and especially the tender pounded chicken in my dish was a well prepared and balanced with great texture and flavor. Fellow diner spoke highly of the large "personal sized" BBQ chicken and pepper pizza. If you have the Arugula salad, ask for a little extra salad dressing, otherwise a very satisfying evening.

This is my favorite place . I come here at leat twice a week. Food is always fresh, clean and presentable. Favorite dish, just a few to name: grilled chicken with roasted potatoes and broccoli rabe, eggplant parmigiano and burrata. Owners are professional, kind and friendly. And Danny who serves, answers the phone, take orders is a delightful person, lights up the whole place and people love him. Highly recommended!!!

Fave go-to Italian place in Queens! Their pasta is the best. Haven't had their pizza yet. It's really cozy and has a hole-in-the-wall feel to it. Service is always great although it can get a little slow sometimes but the food is worth the wait!

My family has been frequenting Pronto since we moved to the neighborhood several years ago. About 2 weeks ago I went to purchase a slice and the owner, who took my order, was behind the counter and not wearing a mask. I didn't question him but I felt he should have been. I decided to try here again yesterday and this time there was an employee behind the counter without a mask. I questioned him and why he wasn't wearing a mask and after pretending to not hear me he finally said the plexiglass he was behind was sufficient. I told him it was not and he said that was my opinion. Pronto is a small restaurant where it's impossible to social distance plus he was standing right by the pizza. Also, the man making the pizza had his mask under his nose and another employee came out of the kitchen with no mask. After coming here for years my family and I will not be back. I'm disgusted at how I was responded to and also how your restaurant thinks it can ignore simple rules that can keep people safe. I'll be posting this review in as many places as I can in hopes something gets your establishment to change. You're not above the law!

The Owner's treated us like family, the Brazilian music is delightful to my ears and the food. Ahhhh!!! The food. Deserved 5 stars itself; the way Joe sautéed the Okra, spinach and sprouts is like heaven because melts on the mouth and taste better than home made food from my Mom back in Brazil. The Menu accepted lots of adjustments and for meat lovers recommend the Veal. Joe swear by Primitivo red wine and I can not stop drinking. Love is on the Air.

very overpriced portions are very small for the price they charge the owner thinks he's in manhattan on park avenue with the prices he is charging this is supposed to be a neighborhjod place that is fairly priced. he is ripping people off for the price and quality of food he's charging !!! this is astoria there are sooo many othe cute neighborhood places that are fairly priced with great food and good portion sizes !! don't go here unless you have a thick wallet !!

This place offered a exceptional dinner experience. Sorry no food pictures...we eat it all. It's so good. It has a friendly neighborhood feel, good service, delicious food.

Usually this is our spot. Really disappointed in how the restaurant is now. They must have gotten rid of the usual server because he was amazing and he's not there anymore and the new people are really terrible. They have attitude and stand around talking to each other making it hard to get their attention. The server brought us the wrong appetizer. We asked for chicken fingers and he brought us mozzarella sticks and when we told him this isn't what we ordered he was like "oh just eat, just eat" because he didn't want to go get the correct order. Food came out super late and was cold. Gets worse... we found hair in the food not once not twice but freaking 5 times. We just decided to pay and leave. Seriously sucks because this place was always so good. The bill was pretty high and really not worth the service or the food we got.

I basically live next door to this place and roll in 2 or 3 times a week but this is by far my favorite pizza place in Astoria regardless of proximity. Skip the Rizzos, Gaudios or (insert other Astoria pizza place) and come here. The breaded chicken and broccoli is not one of my favs so go for the plain cheese, sicilian or the grilled chicken/pepperoni - you will not be dissapointed. The plain cheese has a crust that's thin and crunchy and tasty as hell! As Steve K. mentions below, there is an obscene amount of chicken on the buffalo! Like, you could get a buffalo slice and a plain slice and have enough chicken to have 2 buffalo slices and then some. mmm. Prices are pretty average at few dollars a slice but the pasta and sandwich portions are pretty big. Anything with grilled chicken here is great. I recomend the Tuscan Chicken Sandwich or the pesto. Most importantly, Joe (the ower), is straight from Italy and totally awesome. Incredibly nice, a great host and makes you feel like home. Makes a mean pie!

Got an order last night. Always add the spinach roll which I love! Surprised to find olives in it this time. I love olives but just didn't seem to go with a spinach roll. Please Pronto, go back to original recipe. Otherwise, the rest of our order was as good as usual!

i live a block away from Pronto Pizzeria and decided to give it a try and came on October 12 with my family of 4 We ordered a Small pie of Margherita and wow it actually looked bigger than i expected. it tasted amazing we also ordered burgers with fries Well the burgers were okay which its understandable because its a pizzeria restaurant but overall we had a good time and were well fed The Sangrias were also Great tasty i would come back again!

Stopped in for lunch just after landing at LGA on a business trip to the city. Found this great little place with help of my foodie friends. They have have a lot of great items to choose but was in the mood for pizza! Order a few various slices and some garlic knots, all I can say is wow. It was so good I almost wanted to order a few other items on the menu just for the fun of it. But as waist isn't getting any smaller lately I decided to keep this great place in mind for next next visit to the area. Also want to give a shout out tot the guys working the counter, very friendly and attentive. Parking may be a little bit of a chore, but you should be able to find something within a block or 2 during work hours.
