"Proof Bakeshop and its cafe, owned by Billy and Kristin Allin (Bread and Butterfly), closed at the end of 2021 after six years on Hurt Street. Proof became a staple in the neighborhood for fresh breads, scones, croissants, cakes, and cookies. The cafe also served coffee and breakfast in the morning, with sandwiches and salads during lunch." - Beth McKibben

A lovely space that's perfect to get some work done or catch up with a friend. You'll always find an open seat! I absolutely love their lavender lattes, croissants, and sandwiches. However, they are often understaffed and therefore the service can be really slow. I wish that Proof's owners gave it as much love as they do to Cakes & Ale or Bread & Butterfly.

The baked good were delicious for the most part. It's a very dry atmosphere with mostly people staring at their electronics and staff didn't even smile or greet us. No ambiance.

This place is so good!! If you ever come near, I would 100% recommend stopping in. The atmosphere is to die for and the coffee cake will take you away! They also have an assortment of coffee and tea flavors. I started the morning with a vanilla-lavender iced coffee 👌🏼.

This bakery is one of the prizes of the neighborhood. The pimento cheese biscuit is probably the best baked good I have ever tried. I am also a big fan of the green onion scones and lattes - a weekly visit is a must!

Great place with an independent feel. You can sit and read or relax. There is good music in the background and they have tasty goodies.
