The MICHELIN Guide Hits the Must-Visit Ski Destinations

"Hotel Jerome, Prospect, unfolds as a saga of heritage and contemporary allure in the heart of Aspen's downtown. This must-visit ski destination has grasped the hearts of content creators recently, as it artfully captures the spirit of the Old West with all the modern fixings. The red-bricked façade whispers tales of a bygone era, while Prospect, the hotel's MICHELIN-recommended restaurant, elevates Aspen's gastronomic scene. When you check in to Hotel Jerome it isn't merely a stay; it's a curated journey through time, where the echoes of history seamlessly blend with the rhythms of modern luxury, establishing it as a haven for those who appreciate the confluence of tradition and refinement." - Ty Gaskins

The 15 Best Restaurants In Aspen

"You can’t just stumble into Prospect in the Hotel Jerome looking for a quick dinner—this is a prix fixe tasting menu meal that’ll last at least two hours. But if you have the time (and budget), dinner can be something really special, with most of the meal made up of ingredients sourced exclusively from Colorado. They really pull out all the stops with dry ice reveals and plates presented over river rocks. If you have commitment issues, or the whole thing just sounds a bit over the top, you can duck into J-Bar, the hotel’s sister restaurant. That’s where Hunter S. Thompson used to hang out for a burger and an Aspen Crud cocktail-meets-milkshake. " - katie shapiro

Prospect

"Located in the swanky, studiously hip Hotel Jerome, it’s not hard to see why Prospect is one of the hottest restaurants in Aspen. Chef Ross Kilkenny brings a certain California swagger, mirroring the colorful, eclectic space with his au courant menu, as in kimchi rösti with a fried egg and okonomiyaki sauce, or chèvre ravioli with Calabrian chili, charred broccolini, and golden fig. Eye-catching desserts, like an intricate, architectural composition of mocha savarin, dark chocolate and passion fruit caramel, offer a fitting finale. Not that any further enticements are necessary, but a compelling cocktail program provides tipples for every taste (including non-alcoholic options)—just one more reason for the influencer set to snap photos." - Michelin Inspector

The 21 Essential Aspen Restaurants

"With a new executive chef, the Hotel Jerome’s fine dining restaurant, Prospect, is presenting an all-new winter menu. Ross Kilkenny boasts experience in some of America’s top eateries, including the River Café in Brooklyn, Bouchon in Yountville, California, and Meadowood Napa Valley in St. Helena, California. Try the beef carpaccio with lemongrass oil, cilantro, lime, crispy garlic, and shallots, or the grilled lamb loin with yuzu, carrot, smoked pistachio, and pomegranate. Kilkenny is also putting his touch on additional hideouts within the historic compound — the Living Room, J-Bar, and Bad Harriet — where you’ll also find the always-buzzing Felix Roasting Co., perfect for a morning warm-up (the hickory-smoked s’mores latte is a must)." - Katie Shapiro

Everything about this breakfast was next level. The service was impeccable. The food was superb. The mood, decor, lighting, and ambiance are rustic modern at its finest. Prospect's huckleberry skillet cake may be the best pancake I've ever tasted. Sprinkling pine nuts within the syrup reminded me of nature from the safe enclave of a delicious comfort dish while acting as a damn fine flavor pairing with locally sourced berries. Their chicken fried steak was cooked perfectly, and so were the potatoes. My wife really enjoyed their fritatta. The service is where this place really shines, though. We felt cared for, and the positivity and concern of Prospect's staff set an incredibly congenial tone.

Google
An absolutely outstanding restaurant in every way, located inside the iconic Hotel Jerome in Aspen. Super chic and elegant, with high ceilings that create a spacious feel and a stylish, impeccably curated decor. ✨ The service was flawless — attentive, professional. The food was simply delicious. I had the white fish served over a bed of spinach and corn, perfectly cooked. As a starter, I tried the roasted peppers. Everything was paired with a glass of white wine suggested by our server, which complemented the main course beautifully. 🍷🐟🌽 I would definitely return. Highly recommended. 💯👏

Nestled in the heart of Aspen, Prospect at Hotel Jerome is an extraordinary dining experience that seamlessly combines elegance with a warm, inviting atmosphere. From the moment you step inside, the sophisticated decor and attentive service set the stage for a memorable meal. The menu at Prospect is a delightful celebration of local flavors and seasonal ingredients, crafted with precision by the talented culinary team. Each dish is a work of art, beautifully plated and bursting with flavor. The selection ranges from inventive appetizers to mouthwatering entrees, ensuring there is something to please every palate. I highly recommend starting with the seasonal vegetable tart, which balances freshness with a rich, savory filling that sets the tone for the meal. For the main course, the pan-seared trout was a standout. Cooked to perfection, it was flaky and tender, served with a delightful side of roasted root vegetables that complemented the fish beautifully. The attention to detail in flavor combinations and presentation is evident throughout the menu, showcasing the chefs' commitment to excellence. The wine list is extensive, featuring a curated selection of both local and international options. The knowledgeable staff is more than happy to recommend the perfect pairing to elevate your dining experience further. Dessert is not to be missed either! The chocolate molten cake was a decadent finale, rich and indulgent, paired with a scoop of house-made vanilla ice cream that added a refreshing touch. Service at Prospect is impeccable. The staff is attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that every guest feels special. Their passion for hospitality shines through, making you feel right at home. In summary, Prospect at Hotel Jerome is a culinary gem in Aspen that offers an unforgettable dining experience. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply enjoying a night out, this restaurant delivers on every front. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting the area—it's a must-visit for food lovers and a true highlight of Aspen’s vibrant dining scene.

The high ceilings, yet quiet/ hushed tones, partial view of the mountains and decor are like a warm hug. Service and menu offerings were spot on.

Google
Best meal in Aspen! We came for dinner and enjoyed every plate thoroughly - most of the menu was a tasteful ode to Colorado. The servers/kitchen were also very accommodating to a member of the party being pregnant too. I am not sure why the average rating is so low. It seems like people are reviewing for breakfast… We would surely return!

Google
Staying at the Jerome in Aspen, and decided to have breakfast here since it was blizzard weather outside. The server for my table was Maggie who was not only beautiful, but was very attentive, and knew the menu well! She recommended the egg sandwich which was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend this restaurant.

Stayed at the Jerome and dinner with work at Prospect. Able to rent out the restaurant for the party. Fixed course dinner was phenomenal. Great service. Deep pairing of wine. The beef was superb. Every dish was so different and fresh.

Yelp
This place was incredible! We had to make up our anniversary because I got sick so we rescheduled coming to this restaurant & I'm so glad we did. We had the multi course dinner & it was hard to say what our favorite dish was, they were all fantastic. I really loved the local ingredients that were incorporated & the story behind every dish. It felt like we were the only people in the restaurant so the service was excellent as well. I love the dim lit space, it's very cozy & inviting. The chairs are really comfortable as well, you feel like you're in a grand living room/dining room. Well definitely be back especially when they have visiting chefs

Yelp
This is our favorite restaurant in Aspen. The staff is so warm and attentive! Micha, Kate and Marco made us feel so special with their extraordinary hospitality! The food is excellent! The restaurant is beautiful! We tried almost everything on the menu during our stay at Jerome. The omelet and breakfast sandwich are fabulous. The pasta perfectly prepared and seasoned! This is fine dining with a warm and welcoming vibe!

Yelp
Wanted an easy breakfast before work this morning so I stopped in at the Jerome for a quick bite. The bagel and lox were perfect. Very tasty and simple and the manager (Kate) was an absolute joy to deal with.

Yelp
Food is inconsistent. I had breakfast here and ordered the egg white frittata. The potatoes inside were almost raw and really crunchy, the eggs were watery and the side of potatoes was so salty I couldn't finish. The side of the free muffins was the highlight of the meal. For dinner I had the salmon dish with red curry. While the dish was delicious, it was extremely overpriced. The service also left something to be desired. It took our waiter close to 20 minutes to find the wine I ordered and we had trouble getting the waiters attention to assist us when there was only a small handful of tables seated. It may have been the off season so the staff are training, but for the price I expected a little higher level of overall care and attention from staff.

Yelp
Kate the manager is the sweetest ever. Coming back just for her! And the food is great too!

Yelp
Wow wow wow! What a wonderful meal! I had such a wonderful time here and enjoyed the food so much! The chia bowl was quite large and paired with an oat milk latte??? perfection!! The complimentary muffins were also scrumptious. I wish I would've taken more photos of the restaurant because it was so beautiful! I felt so warm and cozy.

Yelp
We were lucky enough to be in town for the Pangea 7 course meal. It was excellent. Service was nice and efficient. Loved the atmosphere! Highly recommend.

Gregg P.

Yelp
So, the eggs benedict used to be great and the little muffins were a star at breakfast. Stopped in this week and ordered the benedict. They have eliminated the canadian bacon and substituted mushrooms and carmelized onions. It was extremely disappointing. Now $45 later and no muffins for this solo diner, I'll not be going back.

Yelp
We did the 7-course "Journey" and it was an incredible prix fixe menu. Portions are generous for a tasting menu and every course, including several amuse bouches were amazing. The service was highly attentive and friendly without being overbearing. It was the perfect way to celebrate a special family get together in Aspen. Needless to say we highly recommend it!!

Yelp
We had the 11 courses! Amazingly you can get through all of them. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared according to a theme the chefs create in advance, I thought the theme I got to savor in each dish was exquisitely executioned. Service was very nice and ambiance of restaurant was calm at the 6pm dinner hour.
google avatar

Yelp
The complimentary mini muffins are the real stand out! I just love the vibes here and service is incredible. Everyone I encountered was so polite and welcoming. Unfortunately the over medium eggs were raw but I was full off the rest of my meal that I didn't feel the need to bring it up. Also the eggs on the Benedict were over cooked. They def need to work on the eggs. I love the orange juice too, so fresh!!

Yelp
Came here with the fellas for breakfast after a real dinger of a night. While I'll never feel great about seeing 16 dollar oatmeal on the menu this place was actually pretty good. One weird thing is that our table was shaking/vibrating the entire time without any real logical explanation. Like as if there was a minor earthquake happening for an hour and 20 minutes. Just a weird thing I don't really know. Eggs Benedict was outstanding. Service was great our server was from Kazakhstan and the best part was I didn't make a single Borat joke in front of her.

Yelp
Great food and great experience, yes ... expensive, but isn't everything in Aspen? Panzanella salad was outstanding, crudo delish, sea bass - outstanding, one of the best I've ever had. Lamb, hmmmm ... very good but could have been better, was HUGE chunks of lamb, could have been more tender, maybe sliced thin with a jus of cherry or something sweet to offset the gamey taste, just seems like sliced would have been better than chunks, it was a lot - but, all the flavors and prep were delicious ... the only non A+++ of the meal. DONUTS for desert, might have been the best I've ever had (they came from next door's J-Bar). Margarita's with Casamigos repo were perfect, wine excellent and our server "Jovan" was knowledgeable and a lot of fun, service was perfect .. was an A+ close to perfect night!

Yelp
Best meal in Aspen yet!!!! Every dish was so good. Our server Brandon was very nice and so helpful with my allergies! Favorite dishes- the kimchi pancake dish was exquisite (as a Korean American, my mind was blown), the lamb was ridiculously good, ancient grains salad was perfect (literally perfect) and hamachi was also a 10. Can't remember the last time that all 4 dishes are a 10!! Thank you!

Thorne S.

Yelp
Pear and hazelnut dessert? I'd rather die. Fishy aftertaste. Sent back after one bite for a different dessert and still charged. Cauliflower soup - great NY Strip - tough, flavorless Focaccia bread - great Ravioli - good

Yelp
Having lived in Aspen for years and loved the Jerome in the past, my review is one worth consideration. Service was negative five stars; though all servers were nice, the management clearly has made every effort to the contrary of competence. Not once did anyone refill my sparkling water from the bottle which was on the table. The person I was told was my server (by two different people who took the order) never once made it to the table. My wine glass was empty for exactly twenty-one minutes before anyone tried to ask if I'd like another. Again, everyone employed was nice, but with glaring lack of management or oversight. I was told AFTER my card was charged that gratuity was included; the fact itself isn't a bother, but the "by the way we already charged it" business is cheeky. The ambiance was passable but the choice of modern Opera seemed odd and felt intrusive on the high notes; eventually, normal chill lounge ensued which was better. The food and drinks were decent, though over-priced like everything else in Aspen. The faux grass turf outside (where I was seated as a party of one at a table for five) was covered in leaves, which I'm not sure is good or bad. Specifically the hummus dip was a sorry excuse for a dish, an appetizer conjuring a poor person trying to look fancy: twelve radishes (all barely bulges ok a not-so-ripe stem, soaked in watery ice) hardly counts as a hummus dish. The sliders were ok, though small (even for sliders) to the point that they fell apart even with a skewer attempt to hold them together; further, they tasted good, but with nothing interesting or special about them. All in all, drink and dine here when you're with friends who engage you to such brimming extent that you'll never notice how ignored you are or how lack-luster the whole experience really is. Then...you'll love it here!

Yelp
Love the ambiance here, but make sure to make reservations! They weren't even considering walk ins. CRIPY DAY BOAT FISH - delicious and not too spicy. It's a good amount of food and fish was perfectly cooked. It comes with fries or slaw. The fries were on the crunchier side. They also have a 3 course dinner menu that you can order.

Yelp
After my cousin got proposed to, we took the entourage to this restaurant for brunch! I really loved the vibe! Lots of natural sunlight! This place is also good for taking pictures with its aesthetics. Good was amazing! The Filipino server was great and attentive! Highly recommend!

Yelp
I came here for a bachelor party with a group of 7 friends...and it was quite a wonderful experience. My friend was able to make reservations ahead of time for a large party which was pretty convenient. The ambience of the restaurant has a certain old school charm to it and the lighting was romantically dim. Now quick warning...the menu wasn't overly long...but the menu wasn't difficult in regards to finding something everyone would like. For appetizers I HIGHLY recommend the tuna tartare, oysters and trout dip as they were all crowd pleasers for the group of 7 that I was with. For entrees, I recommend skipping the organic roasted chicken as it was a bit bland...but give the colorado bass and chips a try or the linguine and clams. The seasonal slice of pie (something chai) was quiet delightful for dessert. If I'm ever in Aspen, i'll be sure to give this place a visit once again.

Yelp
They really know how to make every guest feel special. Whether you're staying at the hotel or not. Great management.

Yelp
The reception lady is very rude. We ordered milk and orange juice but they almost forgot to bring it to us until we noticed them. Poor service.

Yelp
My group stopped here for brunch in Aspen on our way to go camping in the area. Yelp was honest that although this restaurant is pricey, nothing in Aspen will be cheap but you will be guaranteed to have good food in an upscale setting here. I would recommend the pancakes to share since they are large. If you're someone like me who doesn't like to spend money on food you can make at home, these pancakes were worth the splurge. They have a wonderful gentle lemon zing that is not over powering, and are stuffed with just the right amount of blueberries. Definitely quality. Friends enjoyed their breakfast tacos and Jerome breakfast plates. The Jerome breakfast comes with a hearty piece of multigrain toast that will leave you full! Be sure to ask for the complimentary breakfast muffins, they don't offer this right away. More of a place my parents would brunch than my personal go-to, but I was glad that everything was very high quality. The hostess' greeting was a bit off (demanded my name and contact info right off the bat), but the service was fine. We came for brunch at about 10am and the place was empty. Overall you won't find many quick cheap spots in Aspen as everything is pretty high end, but I would go back for good food and expected prices for this area.

Yelp
Hummus was amazing! Was a very nice outside setting with fresh cocktails and appetizers.

Yelp
very dissatisfied my Lamb was great my wife's steak great!Naked potato with crab came out twice almost raw! Waiter was great and could not have been nicer in crediting our bill! Came a long way for this meal mot that good!!

Yelp
We arrived and were told there were no tables. I asked if there were inside seats and she said "fine I will seat you." I have been here for 35 minutes. My sister said she thought we were being snubbed but I thought that was nonsense, why would we be snubbed? That would be silly, right? When two women were seated next to us & served immediately, I explained we had been here for over 20 minutes. Finally (after taking their order) someone came by to get our drink order and I was brought a glass for the wine I ordered. That was 12 minutes ago and no sign of wine or the server. (But isn't this a pretty picture of my empty lonely glass?) ________ Ok, 40+ minutes later I now have wine & food. (Granted, not the wine I ordered & they brought us someone else's food first...). I already had a dinner here on the books & need to do a site visit with management for work in a few weeks. Hopefully that goes better and shows me this was a terrible anomaly? If so I look forward to updating this review xo

Yelp
So I've had a couple really bad experiences here- First one we were given a 1.5 hour wait time to sit in the living room, so we gave them our number and left, grabbed dinner, and since it was an hour and a half later, we swung by to see if they had a table for a nightcap. We never got a text that our table was ready from from the previous stop in. When we mentioned that we had been on the list and given that time, they said "we texted you" and seemed mad about it. When we looked through our texts and it wasn't there the hostess tried to continue to argue with us about the stupid text. I said regardless of the text we're here now, can we get a drink. They reluctantly sat us in the half full room after "checking if they had a table". I've lived in aspen as a normal local (not billionaire) for 20 years and I've never been treated as if I were not good enough to be patronizing a business anywhere until now. I was blown away and so embarrassed of the snobby behavior of the staff. Also a couple strange men sat at our table and after one started an argument with me and the other man basically sexually assaulted my mom, we were escorted out of the restaurant. We were vulnerable women in this situation and not protected whatsoever. The last time I came here, I sat for breakfast with a couple friends. We were barely acknowledged, sat for an hour and a half with no one checking in on us. We had to flag down servers or bussers for anything we needed and never presented a check. We had to ask a management person for the check. After expressing our displeasure (after paying) they said they wouldn't charge us and they were so sorry. My card still ended up being charged with a 22% gratuity. As a long time local, the Jerome has lost it for me and I won't be returning. Lovely hotel to stay in I'm sure but the restaurant hostility sucks.

Yelp
Well it took a longtime to have a mediocre experience at an Auberge property.... But service here was terrible ... just couldn't get anyone's attention... table of one, no alcohol no service...then they tried to add 22% service fee on top... WHAT!!!!!

Yelp
Awesome! Great service and food. Had the chicken vegetable soup and the grilled southwest salad. The soup was better than homemade and had all sorts of herbs including tarragon. It was simply sublime. The southwest salad was very good. Very good chicken and the dressing was out of this world. The service was impeccable and very professional. Our server was from Transylvania and could not have been better. Very quiet and clean and comfortable setting. How can you go wrong with this in mind. Love this place and it is expensive, but you get what you are paying for. Quality, quality and service= awesome experience. What a great birthday lunch for me. Yay me.
google avatar

Yelp
Prospect was amazing. Our waitress Soledad was absolutely amazing on the two days we ate here for breakfast. She was extremely nice and inviting and one of the nicest people we met in Aspen. Great place in a great hotel!
google avatar

Yelp
Sunday brunch must do! The bread basket is amazing... but they also bring complementary cornbread in an iron skillet- melts in your mouth delicious!! Be sure to try the bacon flight- loved the habanero slice, but they're all crispy & tasty! We all ordered something different to share & it was all delicious! I split the turkey club on a pretzel bun with fries, more bacon, avocado & tasty honey mustard dressing. The blueberry pancakes were the table favorite along with the cornbread! The servers were attentive & very helpful. The hotel is beautiful, such charm & beauty. We will be back for sure!

Yelp
My 2020'season breakfast of choice. Located close to the bus stops for the mountains Prospect serves a solid selection of breakfast fare and a chance to catch up with visitors in great surroundings. The front of house is especially helpful and pleasant to boot.

Rebecca T.

Yelp
Ate lunch for the 2nd time at this Jerome Hotel restaurant called The Prospect. There is inside and outside seating. The outside seating has umbrellas and gorgeous flowers. There is an outside bar. Our waiter was wonderful. I had the divers scallops and my husband had a Caesar salad, both were wonderful.
google avatar

Yelp
Poor management. Booked my twins 20th birthday dinner a month in advance. Rechecked reservation five days before. "Great we have a wonderful outside table for you" they said ... showed up on Saturday night at 8 for this special birthday celebration ... they had a wedding... canceled all outside dining. No phone call nothing. Notes in resv said it was a birthday. Extremely disappointed they didn't handle this well. We were very lucky cache cache found us a table at the very last minute.

Yelp
Aspen is a small funny town filled with people with too much money and not enough vegetarian restaurants/food. My husband and I do not ski (funny being from New England) but there you have it. We decided to spend the day walking around to see the sights (museums, shops and a few coffee shops and restaurants) to get a feel for the town. We went in March and it had snowed a few days before but everything had been cleared off the street and it was a perfectly sunny day. We took a look at a few reviews and landed on this hotel and restaurant and were so happy we did. There is on street parking but DO move your car they ticket quickly. The hotel Jerome, which is where the Prospect Restaurant is, plays pleasant music, has plenty of seating (perhaps 3 other tables full) and is extremely clean (a plus). The staff was extremely helpful, we could not decide what to get, they helped us with our choices, they ended up being "super" friendly but not overly talkative and had perfect timing. My husband decided on the coffee ($5) and I did the Hulk ($9) this is bottled from another company not made there but brought in daily. Then we had the veggie burger (not frozen) ($18) and I had the Superfood Bowl ($24). Again, you do pay a bit more due to the location and it is a higher end hotel . The Super Bowl includes - sprouted lentils, spinach, black barley, charred avocado, roasted squash, roasted beets, grilled onion, sunflower sprouts, dried cranberries, sunflower seeds and lemon-poblano vinaigrette dressing (almost enough for two). If the Superfood Bowl didn't sell you? I am not sure what would! I loved it! Enjoy the hotel, relaxed atmosphere, service and most of all healthy food. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g29141-d3935563-r399732609-Prospect-Aspen_Colorado.html#

Yelp
Lovely restaurant but service for the prices weren't on point. I know employees are difficult to hire currently. The waitress didn't know the menu and one order was brought out incorrectly. Usually with a restaurant of this caliber the manager apologizes. They offer the Prospect and the J-Bar menus. So we ordered from each. At the end they put on a 22% gratuity. So watch your bill. We were a party of 6 and the bill was about $300 a couple.

Rick G.

Yelp
Unfortunately we had a very disappointing experience here, mainly considering the high price of the food and cocktails. Ambiance is nice. Server was polite. Food was average. Biggest issue was the length of time it took to get our food and then, after a very long (guessing 30 minutes!) wait, they served our appetizer salads at the SAME TIME as the entrees. We politely complained that we had expected to get our salads prior to our entrees as is the norm with virtually any restaurant in the US. She mentioned we had to REQUEST our $24 Caesar salads first. What?? Will never go back.

Pamela M.

Yelp
This is one of the best places to eat outside in all of Aspen. The menu is fun and affordable. At the beginning of summer, the service was a bit uneven, but they have definitely upped their game. Our last visit we had Taylor waiting on us. She was really terrific. Pandemic protocols are being followed and it feels really safe to eat and drink on the patio. Highly recommend.

Yelp
A great restaurant. Beautiful, firstly. The Hotel Jerome is gorgeous. Their Bar too. Food wise, the menu has obvious Italian influences. And while the Boar Sausage with Mustard and Spätzle was good - their signature dish is clearly the lamb ragu papardelle. It is of the quality you would get in a Roman restaurant. Pasta clearly hand made, that day. Meat must have simmered for days. Their wines are 'comprehensive'.....and we enjoyed a fantastic Piedmont. Service is discreet and prompt and their pricing within the expectations you get when you have completed your meal. Ingredients like these dont come cheap, so they aren't. Well done, and thank you.

Cari K.

Yelp
I have lived in Aspen for 30 years now and the Hotel Jerome WAS always one of my favorites. Recently all of the restaurants at the Hotel Jerome have been adding a service charge to their bills, even if you only have a small group....or just cocktails. AND THEY DONT TELL YOU! So, recently I had dinner there with a friend. We had a $95 bottle of wine and 2 very average salads and the bill was $300. It was $250 with the service charge, which is already way too much for an inexpensive bottle of wine and 2 salads, and then I added a $50 for a tip not knowing they had put a service charge on already. And I just realized this is why my bill was recently $100 for 2 bowls of soup and a glass of wine...outrageous! Aspen is expensive but this is just too much. I won't be eating there again until they either stop adding the service charge or let you know that it is on there.

Yelp
Had a solid dinner here with a group of friends. I chose the three courses. The beet salad was delicious. The yellowtail crudo was just ok and I only ate a few bites as I found it too citrusy. And the main dish of halibut over spinach was delicious. Overall, I think the price point was a bit high coming in at over $300 for 2 people with 3 courses each and no cocktails but that said It was a pleasing atmosphere with friendly attentive service and I would dine here again.

Yelp
We stayed at the Hotel Jerome so we came here for breakfast daily, which was incredible. But what I don't think people know is how fantastic their dinner is! We had a mishap with one of our reservations while in aspen, so we came back to the hotel and the Prospect was able to squeeze us in. We started with the tuna appetizer as well as the meatballs, which were both to die for and I'd order them again in a heartbeat. The meatballs are garlicky, the sauce is wonderful, and the polenta they are served over is very flavorful and compliments the meatballs perfectly...and best of all? They're not dense like so many meatballs can be, they're the perfect texture. Highly recommend! Plus they gave us some killer cornbread to start. For dinner I opted for the vegetable pot pie...wow, what a great decision! It was so unique and flavorful, with a touch of sweetness and I was so happy with my choice! Everyone else I was dining with felt the same way, from the chicken to fish to the cavatelli pasta, we were all beyond pleased with our meals. Oh, and the wine was spectacular too. What a meal. Overall, we couldn't be happier about our reservation mishap elsewhere because we wouldn't have gotten to experience this! 5 stars all the way, I know we will dine here for dinner again when we return.

Yelp
My wife and I stopped here for lunch as most of the restaurants in Aspen were closed for the winter. We were very disappointed with the food and service, to say the least. Our burgers were bland and soggy as the bread was soaked with grease. My wife pulled a 4 inch hair from her burger which we showed our waiter and he offered to comp us a free soup for the breach in quality control. The overall attitude of the staff was considerably arrogant and dismissive. We won't be back.

Yelp
Mediocre experience especially relative to the price. We had several orders of halibut, all badly overcooked and a very bland dish overall. Wine pairing was quite unspectacular. And service was lacking, from mixing up orders to being absent (never checked in after delivering). Nowhere near the experience or quality one should expect for this price. Service and food need significant improvement.

Yelp
Used to come here a few times a year as a treat and always had the best time and the best service. It was always a bit pricey but worth it because the service was exceptional and we always felt appreciated. Went this morning for breakfast for the first time since before COVID. We made a reservation as well. When we arrived we went inside and checked in with the host. The host did not greet us but just stared at us until I explained we were there and had a reservation. She told us we needed to go outside to be seated. We went back out the front and around outside where the same host met us. She just stared at us again until I again explained who we were and what reservation we had. We were seated and waiting about 7 minutes before being brought water. Then had a waiter come take our drink order. About a 10 minute wait for tea and coffee, then we had a different waiter take our food order. All the tables around us were getting the complimentary daily muffins with jam and butter which I remember having. We were not brought them. When we finally got our food I asked about the muffins. A different waiter brought us muffins but no butter or jam. They were very dry too. I asked two separate waiters for the butter and jam and they came about 15 minutes later. I think we had 5 different waiters in total and 4 different bidders. Nobody asked us how we were or showed any friendly welcoming attitude. The food was good as always even though they've doubled their prices since before COVID. They have an automated 22% gratuity which I am fine with usually, just not when we are treated so poorly. I so used to love coming here for breakfast but this was such a horrible experience that I will not be returning. I don't know how a place that is known for its friendliness and great service can treat its guests so poorly. I work in the restaurant industry in aspen and would never give this type of service and expect to keep my job. Maybe it's because we were there midweek and not on the weekend but still shocking. Wait staff needs to communicate and be assigned tables. And it's the Jerome, a certain level of expertise and level of service is expected. Bummer because it seems most places in aspen have become like this. The Little Nell will replace the Jerome as my favorite breakfast place in town.

Yelp
My family enjoyed a casual but delicious meal outside on the patio at the Jerome. We had cocktails, burgers, salads, day boat fish sandwich and the mini-donuts for dessert. All dishes were very tasty and the setting is very comfortable. It is a good value for a lovely evening out.

Yelp
Had thanksgiving dinner buffet here...compared to St Regis and other buffets this one is supreme. No alcohol is included but there is so much incredible food. Expensive but expected. Worth it if you want an A-Z thanksgiving buffet. Very impressed.

Yelp
Just ate dinner with my entire family at the restaurant was well decorated. The warm tungsten lighting added a coziness to the atmosphere. The food was a little too heavy and rich in flavor all around. I was going to give three stars, except the service was outstanding. The hostess Genna (?) was beyond accommodating with a busy restaurant. Our waiter Assim from Mexico City was also incredible. They make up for the lack of quality service at some places throughout the city. My rigatoni was great, and my family loved their dishes. We just wish there were less heavy options, like vegetables without being coated in cream or butter or etc. Thanks for great evening.
