Unfussy global dishes and coffee from an artisan roaster in a laid-back breakfast and lunch cafe.
"Someone managed to write a novel at this cafe in Shepherd’s Bush. That’s got to be at least a third as hard as setting up a website for your personalised litter tray business. This place serves pancake-packed breakfasts that’ll get you out of your home office (your bed), and has a jolly, rustic riviera feel. There can be a rush at lunchtime and when the local schools let out, but generally you can always find a table." - jake missing, rianne shlebak, daisy meager, sinead cranna
"For coffee, breakfast, brunch, and sandwiches around Shepherd’s Bush, Proud Mary’s is one of your best options. Get your miso chicken bagel, your creamy porridge, and your flat white delivered here." - oliver feldman, heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak
"Sometimes we like to throw caution to the wind, ignore whatever doom and gloom our weather app is offering up, and commit to an alfresco brunch. And when that urge strikes in west London, we make our way to Proud Mary’s. A cosy neighbourhood cafe in Shepherd’s Bush that has that whole ‘Aussie brunch’ thing going on, it’s perfect for an optimistically sunny Saturday morning spent chatting over classics like pancakes and eggs benedict. They’ve also got great coffee from Ozone, freshly squeezed OJ, an excellent iced Milo, and some great vegan options too." - Jake Oliver, Rianne Shlebak, Sinead Cranna
"It’s Saturday morning and you’ve woken up in Chez Boo with your questionable one-night stand. Press reset and wander over to Proud Mary’s where you can decide if you actually like them as a human being over an Aussie-style brunch. It’s the only place in W12 where you can optimistically pretend you’re in Sydney (especially if the sun’s out and they’ve set up chairs outside) and more importantly, everyone likes brunch so you can see your date at their best. If they manage to ruin that, then feel free to leg it to the station. But only after you get the pancakes." - heidi lauth beasley, david paw, rianne shlebak
"This Shepherd’s Bush cafe is a cosy neighbourhood spot that serves up some pretty great Australian-style brunch. The usual classics involving pancakes and avocados are particularly good, and the whole menu is pretty ideal for vegetarians. Our favourite time to be here is on the weekends when the weather’s nice and they set up chairs outside." - rianne shlebak
