For From Scratch Hospitality, The Restaurant’s Location Sets The Tone | Eater Dallas

"Set in the restored Mule Alley in the Stockyards since June 2020, this is where local horse and cattle raisers dine alongside tourists over ranch-style plates—smoked trout dip, fried green tomatoes, cowboy-cut rib-eyes, grilled trout, fish and chips, and a slow-smoked beef rib for two—delivering a distinct taste of Texana." - Courtney Dabney

Chef Marcus Paslay Opens Provender Hall in Fort Worth This Week | Eater Dallas

"Helmed by acclaimed Fort Worth chef Marcus Paslay, this much-anticipated Texas brasserie opens inside the Mule Alley development at 122 East Exchange Avenue and centers on live-fire cooking using a smoker and wood-burning grill built by J&R Manufacturing. Occupying a sprawling 5,000-square-foot former hayloft reimagined as a two-story space by interior architect Kate Murphy, it blends rustic touches—exposed brick, a vintage "COLD BEER" sign, and cowboy-inspired art by Jon Flaming—with modern industrial sensibilities. The first floor offers an open-air kitchen and a cocktail lounge, while an intimate upstairs dining room provides ample seating; a large outdoor patio overlooking Exchange Avenue is currently under construction. The menu leans into Texas flavors with dishes like venison tartare with horseradish aioli and capers, crispy Texas redfish with sweet potato hash, beef cheek tacos, and a selection of steaks including a coffee-rubbed venison backstrap and Akaushi flat iron, plus sides such as crispy okra and poblano-cheddar grits and desserts like Dr. Pepper chocolate sheet cake, apple cobbler, and cinnamon sugar donuts. The restaurant debuts on Saturday, July 4, and will be open evenings Sunday–Thursday 4:30–9:30 p.m. and Friday–Saturday 4:30–10:00 p.m., with lunch service to follow." - Amy McCarthy

Fort Worth Chef Marcus Paslay Debuts a ‘Texas Brasserie’ in the Stockyards Soon | Eater Dallas

"Opening in March in Mule Alley (122 E. Exchange Avenue), this two-story, 5,000-square-foot Texas brasserie from chef Marcus Paslay emphasizes theatrical, smoky cooking using a J&R smoker and a wood-burning grill. The first floor features an open-air kitchen while a second-floor wood-and-brick dining room looks down from two catwalks. The menu riffs on American comfort food with oysters on the half-shell, chicken gumbo, and buffalo tenderloin, plus sides such as crispy okra, braised greens, and cheddar-cheese grits; dinner highlights include a smoked half-chicken with grilled broccolini, blackened shrimp and grits with a blistered tomato beurre blanc, and a smoked pork chop with white bean stew. Lunch service will be added in the coming weeks, and Piattello chef Scott Lewis has been promoted to head of kitchen operations across Paslay’s restaurants." - Tierney Plumb

Awesome restaurant in the heart of The Stockyards. Great selection of food and drink. Service is fast and friendly. Plenty of tables and the bar in an awesome hangout. Upstairs and downstairs seating. Get a table upstairs if you have a choice. Outdoor seating in front. Try the fried green tomatoes. Lots of wonderful cocktails. A must stop while in the area.

Went on a Wednesday and got the $5 nachos to start! Delish! Ordered the chicken fried steak and the greens and mashed potatoes did not disappoint. Favorite dish on the menu along with the shrimp and grits (GF). Grits were perfect consistency and flavorful. Came with big juicy shrimp. Matt was our server and bartender. He is rad! Service was 12/10! He made amazing recommendations. Great atmosphere. They have a to-go bar. Easy and delicious place to go to in the stockyards! We’ll be back!

our group of six stopped in here after wandering the stockyards for a bit on a lovely wednesday evening and were pleased with our excellent food and quick service, and no wait time for a table! while i cant remember her name, our server was extremely personable and delivered excellent service. if visitors are looking for an excellent cocktail, the espresso martini was easily the best ive had. and if you happen to get fries their ranch for dipping is to die for.

We enjoyed our lunch at Provender Hall! We especially enjoyed the gluten free cornbread! The bread itself wasn't too sweet and the whipped honey butter made it the perfect appetizer! The entrees were solid. The salads were a bit bland, but definitely enjoyable. The service was kind and quick! The atmosphere is very cowboy cozy and provides a great space for a meal. If you're headed here to watch the cattle run, it's just a couple stores down making it a very convenient location! I would be back next time I visit.

My family and I stopped to eat here. We had the slow smoked rib for 2, the grilled trout and a burger. We did had to wait for about half hour to be seated because it was busy. The smoked rib was delicious. The portion size was great. The trout had very good flavor, not too big of a fan of the black eye peas that came with the trout.
