"Outremont tasting-menu-only resto Provisions has had its own butcher shop for a while — but now it’s evolved into a wine bar with a handsome selection of steaks, including tomahawk, rib and skirt steaks — otherwise, there are plenty of other meats on the menu, and a fine list of natural wines." - JP Karwacki

"A very well-regarded butcher shop and wine bar in the city, Provisions is also known to dish a mean cheeseburger. Pair yours with a poutine and some “purple rain” (blueberry and cream cheese-flavoured ice cream), and you’re in business." - Valerie Silva, Eater Staff

"Despite the closing of two of its other locations over the last two years, the team at Provisions continues to operate as a wine bar and butcher shop in a shared space on Van Horne. The butcher shop, open all day, serves up sandwiches stuffed with thick-cut brisket, ham (in the Cubano style), and, quite possibly, one of the city’s best griddle burgers. The wine bar, open in the evenings, is a more polished affair, with dishes like lamb kefta, albacore tuna tataki, and grilled scallops, and natural wines to pair. Don’t miss out on their homemade ice cream, either." - Daniel Bromberg

"I ate an amazing steak with oysters at Provisions Bar à Vin, one of the standout pre-pandemic meals that I still remember fondly." - Valerie Silva
