Our 15 favorite places in Midtown Village - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"When you head to this bright 13th street spot for an exciting dinner with friends or for date night, you’ll feel like you’re at a modern European bistro. Whether you’re dining at one of the marble-topped tables inside, at the long bar, or on their sidewalk setup that lines the block, start with the citrusy scallop crudo with blood orange, and split the buttery fettuccine al limone. It’s an easy place to have a good meal and a good time, especially when it involves a slice of pesto-drenched pizza that just came out of the oven." - Candis Mclean

Prunella - Review - Midtown Village - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"The team that runs Prunella has basically done it all. They operate Graffiti, a bar on the side of a street, Alpen Rose, a high-end steakhouse, Double Knot, a Japanese speakeasy, and Via Locusta, a pasta spot to take out-of-towners when you want to impress them. You might be thinking, "what's left to accomplish?" Well, we're here to tell you this Italian restaurant in Midtown Village actually offers something different: great pizza. Combine that with the elements that made all of the other places great, like a conversation-starting interior featuring old photos of Italy, memorable dishes, and an always busy dining room, and you have somewhere that you could bring practically anybody and have a good time. Focus your attention on both the pizza and pasta here, since not ordering them would be like heading to Six Flags just to play carnival games—you’d completely miss the main attraction of the place. Although some can be hit or miss, the ones that stand out are truly great. Try the minty saffron cavatelli that has super tender lamb and then get the thin-crust Rabe The Bank pizza that’s covered in creamy cacio di roma, bits of n’duja, and charred eggplant. They’ve really got the crust down here, too. The style is sort of like a mix between Neapolitan and NY-style, with a thin and chewy dough, perfect char rings, and bubbly air pockets along the edges. Add on some cheese, soft eggplant, and peppery sausage, and you’ve got a pie with ingredients that may be the second-best trio of all time—behind Beyoncé, Michelle, and Kelly, of course. The menu does have more small plates than pasta and pizza, and out of the dozen or so options, the octopus, scallop crudo, and black bass are the way to go. The octopus is thick and juicy, and it’s easily one of the best we’ve had in the city. This section of the menu shows that Prunella specializes in using only a handful of elements and really lets the high-quality and well-prepared seafood or meat in each dish shine. They have as many seats indoors as they do outdoors, so this is a spot where you can bring your friends who love to people-watch. During Happy Hour, you might find a line of people waiting for a table, or groups that are just happy to pass time with a $6 glass of merlot on their outdoor dining setup. Inside, there’s a long marble bar where you can sip on a simple daiquiri with Campari or get an orange wine recommendation from the bartender while being sandwiched next to some friends giving terrible relationship advice. And because lots of people come here during peak dinner hours, the space can get loud and busy to a point where you start to notice your proximity to other people. But we all should be glad that a spot like Prunella exists. Even days after our meals here, we still can’t get a lot of the pasta, pizzas, and small plates out of our heads. While it might appear to be another trendy spot in a popular restaurant group's collection, we’ll bet that it’ll soon become one of your go-to places in Midtown Village. Food Rundown Octopus The thick pieces of octopus here have just the right amount of crispiness. Served with a cool potato salad that has spring onion and arugula, it’s the star of the small plates section of the menu. Scallop Crudo This crudo gets a hint of sweetness from the bits of apple, and the combo with the chunky scallops really works. Plus, outside of making the citrusy sauce look like a lava lamp, the green chili gives the entire blend some nice pepperiness. Saffron Cavatelli This cheesy pasta has a mix of doughy cavatelli and tender ground bits of lamb that sort of melt in your mouth. It’s the pasta to go for here, especially if you’re here with a group sharing everything. Fettuccine Carbonara This is the creamiest pasta on the menu. It’s a simple mix of salty pancetta, english peas, and grated parmesan that make the whole thing both super buttery. It’s not a must-try, though, so you can skip and head right to the pizza. Kareem The Dream We love the sweet braised pears in this pizza, we just wish there were more of them. Because when you get a slice that blends the peppery sausage, thyme, and stewed pears together, it becomes a pizza we could eat all day. Rabe The Bank Expect a thin pie with smoky edges and a chewy crust. And with spicy n’duja sausage, bits of eggplant, and creamy cacio di roma, this pizza has a great balance of pepper and tang. It’s the best pizza here, so you should definitely order it. Black Bass This charred bass is light and juicy, served with basil and snap peas to give each bite a bit of a crunch. It’s one of the best things on the menu and it shows that you can have something great here that’s not made out of dough." - Candis R. McLean

Simple 10’s across the board! After work, my bf & I wanted to catch happy hour and decided on prunella. I’ve seen on the resy app that walk ins are welcomed & happy hour would only be at the bar. I decided to test my luck by going there without a reservation. As we enter the restaurant, it’s very slim w the bar being fully reserved. We decided to eat in the outdoor canopy since there were openings and it was beautiful out. We found out that happy hour was also in the canopy seating area! Our server named Jake was perfect! He thoroughly explained the happy hour menu & information of the restaurant since it was our first time dining here. The menu was relatively small which we were aware of. I love how you can order from the happy hour menu and their standard menu as well. My bf & I already had an idea of what we were ordering. As I googled the menu, the splitting pears drink caught my attention immediately and my bf decided on trying the cosmoplita from the happy hour menu. 10/10 for both drinks but the cosmo was our absolute favorite!!! We ordered the spicy Cesar salad (I wanted to specifically try this from the menu) which was sooo crunchy and flavorful. I’m just upset I wasn’t aware that you can add chicken filet, shrimp, or even anchovies on top but that’s totally okay because I got to enjoy the Caesar salad and really taste it for what it is. We ordered the arancini which was super cheesy, with a nice crunch in the outside and a soft flavorful cheesy inside. The whipped ricotta was a delicious fluffy creamy topping w a hint of yummy honey. The tuna crudo had a great topping on top but I’m not sure what was. All I I know what that the toppings on the tuna gave it a burst of flavors. Last thing that we ordered was the plain Jane pizza which you can’t go wrong with at all. It was a nice warm thin crust pizza. 10s all across the board! Will def return. Thank you for having me!

Google
Great Italian food with on this double date. Our waiter Devon made us feel comfortable by walking us through the menu and the place. We order so much food and all the food that was eaten by us was well prepared and high quality. The octopus was no chewy, the gnocchi was like chewing on a cloud, and the dough for the pizza has the nice black spots on the bottom and a nice chew. The pizza is also not greasy and will not hurt your digestion system. All the dessert are to die for. Prunella is legit and you should check it out!!!

Google
Beautiful cozy ambience and the food was delicious & authentic. Truly felt like we were back in Italy. The staff were lovely, as well. We had a reservation but were stuck in traffic coming into the city and when we called to let them know, they so kindly pushed our reservation back. Our server was so sweet, as well!

Food was delicious. We ordered the buratta, octopus, and arancini for starters and thr process pizza. Get the Shirley Temple witj homemade cherry syrup instead of the standard grenadine. Everyone on staff was wonderful!!!

The spicy Caesar salad was surprisingly good. The spice was a perfect addition to a classic salad. The cacio e pepe comes with spaghetti noodles and I added a chicken cutlet. The noodles were a little overcooked but the chicken and seasoning were perfect

Google
Great brunch spot to catch up with friends! 😊 It can get pretty busy on weekends, so I’d recommend making a reservation. The service was amazing and our server was super nice and attentive the whole time. The food was pretty good, nothing mind-blowing but still solid. I also got a few mocktails which were refreshing . It's nice to see good non-alcoholic options on the menu! 🥂

The food was spectacular. We had a hard deciding what to eat so we tried the cacio e pepe, pizza, meatballs and the spicy Caesar salad. The ambience was lovely and the service was top notch!

Google
Amazing Food. One of the best in Philly. We had amazing service and great recommendations from our server Devon. Devon took time to run through all the menu options with us and answered all the questions we had. We had the most amazing meatballs, octopus, spicy caesar salad, whipped ricotta, and the queen bee pizza. The food was amazing but Devon was better.

Yelp
Overall, the restaurant was good. Personally, I don't like the tapas style because it just gets you to pay more for less food. My biggest gripe, however, was that their menu is just too vague or not well described. I got a cocktail with whiskey, vermouth, and amaretto, but when it came there was a very strong liquid smoke flavor. They didn't mention that on the menu, so I couldn't drink it. Other than that, service was good, the outside tables were quieter than inside.

Yelp
AMAZING experience. Not only were the food and drinks delicious, but our server Devon made the night so memorable. He was sweet, funny, and gave some great recs. Our whole party loved him and promised we'd be back soon! Definitely try the spicy Caesar - it wasn't too hot for me and the dressing tasted homemade. The branzino was also a favorite and perfect portion size. Overall 10/10

Yelp
When you walk into Prunella you are instantly hit with a wam and welcoming aroma. Prunella transports you back to eating Italian food at your grandma's house. Between the smells, the atmosphere, and the service, you know you are about to indulge on incredible food. I started with the birds and bees drink. The gin and limoncello paired nicely together and the honey gave it a nice smooth finish. Next, I ordered their Plain Jane pizza on gluten free crust. It was absolutely delicious! Their sauce was sweet and their mozzarella was fresh. The basil added a nice touch to it and everything flowed perfectly together. Then I ordered their rigatoni all amatriciana pasta with gluten free pasta. The pasta was the best thing I ate. When I took my first bite, it transported me back in the time I was eating pasta at my grandma's when I was a kid. Every single bite felt like home and gave me a warm and bubbly feeling. Overall, Prunella was absolutely incredible! It made me feel like I was eating my Italian grandma's cooking. If you haven't been here yet, then you have to give it a try. Great food and great cocktails you cannot beat it.

Yelp
While Philly offers a wealth of great Italian restaurants, those that offer both excellent pizza and pasta are somewhat more elusive. For her birthday dinner, my wife wished to try somewhere different than our go-to Wm Mulherin's to satisfy a craving for both. As such, we decided to check out Prunella on the bustling 13th St. corridor for its promising menu of pizzas and its tight but appealing selection of pastas. We initially made reservations for indoor seating. When we arrived to the restaurant, the cozy interior was crowded and very loud. We also noticed that our table allocated for four diners was comedically tiny. We subsequently asked for a table outside, which the staff accommodated graciously and without issue. The covered patio still feels vibey and date night appropriate, with the added bonus of significantly more elbow room. You'll get the occasional smells of weed and cigarettes wafting from passerby, but that's the city. We started with a complimentary burrata and squash appetizer. Everyone at the table enjoyed this dish of creamy, fresh cheese and tender, sweet slices of squash dressed with fresh basil and a bright pesto. Afterwards, the items that we ordered (an appetizer, a pasta, and three pizzas) arrived in rapid succession. The whipped ricotta arrived on a piece of garlicky sourdough toast and was topped with hot honey. The balance of flavors veered a little too sweet for my palate, but I nonetheless enjoyed the dish. The rigatoni amatriciana had a fresh tomato sauce and toothsome noodles, yet lacked the porky punch of guanciale I associate with a good rendition of that dish. Prunella specializes in pizzas, and the pies here represent a hybrid of wood fired Neopolitan rounds and thin, crispy New York style. We found the pies overall pleasantly crispy but overcooked in parts and lacking the depth of dough flavor indicative of good fermentation. We liked the special vodka sauce pizza and the pepperoni pie, but found the broccoli rabe white pie a little too rich for our taste. As a bonus, the restaurant served us two very generous servings of gelato for our birthday celebration, and both the straciatella and pistachio flavors highly impressed. Service remained a highlight throughout our meal. The manager ensured we felt happy with our outdoor table and remained attentive. Ditto to our server who acted friendly yet unobtrusive and who explained the menu quite well. Prices felt fair for the quality and quantity of food. Overall, while Prunella does not necessarily serve the best pizzas and pastas in the city, the food is decent enough, the service is excellent, and the outdoor ambiance was pleasant. It's thus worth a visit for an Italian craving on this stretch of 13th Street in pleasant environs.

Yelp
classy little restaurant on a busy strip! my friends and i came during restaurant week. we opted to do the $40/person restaurant week deal, but were a little disappointed that we all had to order the same thing. for example, even though we got two pizzas between the four of us, we had to all order the same pizza. likewise, even though we each got a plate of pasta, we had to all order the same pasta. we're not picky eaters so it worked out, but i wish we could have mix-and-matched to try more dishes. for drinks, we got the hugo spritz, which was super refreshing and light. the food was solid overall. we got the octopus which was flavorful and tender. the whipped ricotta was delicious and the honey on top added the perfect amount of sweetness. for the pizza, we got the cheesy parisi which had the perfect amount of garlic. i would definitely like to try more of the pizzas here. for our pasta, we got the rigotini all' amatriciana. the pasta was the most mid part of the meal. it wasn't particularly flavorful... you can find much better pasta elsewhere. service was good, our waitress was attentive and super sweet. we sat outside on the patio, and the overall vibe was good. i'd consider coming back not for restaurant week. ordering a la carte would have cost about as much as the restaurant week deal anyways.

Yelp
Made a ressie for lunch for restaurant week. The meatball sandwich had the perfect amount of sauce to make it moist, meatballs perfectly seasoned, and bread not too thick. Pizza with broccoli rabe had a nice spice with the peppers and crust was crisp! Patio was breezy on a late summer afternoon. Service attentive Oddly, pricing for restaurant week was a little more expensive than just ordering the items separately so we ordered outside of restaurant week instead. we got a meatball sandwich, pizza, and salad for the same price as the sandwich+pizza special for restaurant week

Yelp
A great happy hour in Philly!! They have almost daily happy hour (including weekends!) from 4-6. We got the two cocktails which were delicious and the special pizza (a spinach pie) which was excellent! The interior was so cute and decorated nicely! I am excited to go back and try the rest of the food/drinks
google avatar

Yelp
Went to Prunella for a date night this week and we really enjoyed! Came for the final sips week on Wednesday evening and we got a the meatball sliders, bruschetta, vodka pie and the shrimp & crab ravioli! We really enjoyed the pizza and sliders! loved the ambiance of the resturant both inside and outside!

Yelp
Another solid Italian restaurant in the city! Super cute restaurant with minimal seating indoors but more seating on the outside. I got an espresso martini to drink, which was pretty average (I prefer a creamier espresso martini, which theirs is not). For food, they recommend that you get multiple plates and share them. We got the tuna crudo, short rib arancini, lasagna verde, whipped ricotta, and a pizza. The tuna crudo was fresh and citrusy. The short rib arancini was REALLY delicious and flavorful, probably the best menu item we had. The whipped ricotta was also delicious and I loved the honey on top. The lasagna verde was okay, probably wouldn't order it again. This restaurant also has a lot of really good looking pizza options--I wish I had room to try more than one pizza! But the one we got (zeewag and pepp??) was very delicious. I absolutely loved the sauce they used on the pizza. No complaints about service as well, everyone was pleasant. Overall I would definitely come back here, especially to try more pizzas!!
google avatar

Yelp
Super cute store inside, with cool wood/plants/feminine decor! Our server Mark/Marc? was also so helpful, very attentive, and friendly. Our water was constantly refilled! We ordered The Process and the Tuna Crudo. The process was delicious and hot out of the oven, with pepperoni, peppers, and a tomato based sauce. For a table of 2, we were so full with 3 slices each. The tuna crudo was yum, but just so so tiny. For $18, I expected more. Overall, this place is definitely known for their pizzas. Would love to try the mushroom burrata pizza next time :)
google avatar

Yelp
First time visiting and had an incredible happy hour experience-we were able to sit outside which was so pretty and everything was delicious. Our server was very pleasant and helpful. I can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Jo L.

Yelp
Whipped Ricotta $10 was a single slice cut into three sections. I appreciate the thoughtfulness of precutting it. The honey gets a little messy but is good. It's a lot of ricotta so I saved some for the pasta which turned out to be a great idea! Rigatoni All Amatriciana $17 appreciated the little kick of spice. That's what gave the dish a boost for me. Otherwise I'm not sure I'd say it was anything special Gets a bit smokey inside. Eyes started to sting Host and bartender very soft spoken. Had to ask them to repeat themselves multiple times. Doesn't help that the music is kind of loud for the small space.

Yelp
Oh if only my town had this place! Excellent service, interesting wine list, and superb pizza. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the people at the bar. They create a friendly (but not like Cheers) atmosphere where patrons can share a few chats and get back to their own. This pizza crushed a neopolitan pizza craving ibe been having. I got the plain jane but added Fresno. Perfect sauce. Flavorful mozzarella. Crust to die for@

Yelp
Popped in for a mid afternoon snack and cocktails. All of the staff, including our server, Webster, were all great! Very attentive and informative when we asked questions about the menu. The food was all very good. Our favorites being the whipped ricotta, and the short rib arancini balls. We also tried the Spicy Caesar salad. The salad was fine, but wasn't exceptional like the other two dishes. The cocktails are inventive and very tasty, albeit a little on the small side (but priced accordingly). All in all this was a great stop and we really enjoyed it. Highly recommend!

Sara L.

Yelp
Nice to sit outside on a hot summer day and enjoy center city. I do feel the menu is quite small/limited. I love the spicy salad
google avatar

Cass G.

Yelp
You can't give zero stars but you should be able to do so. I ordered pizza through door dash and got the pizza within 20 minutes of ordering. It was COLD. thos pizza must have been made earlier today. Total crap. It's an 18 dollar pizza you could have at least re heated it. Luckily I got a micro wave in the hotel room. I had to use the microwave glass as a dish.
google avatar

Yelp
Prunella was one of the cutest dining spots I've visited recently! Everything about the decor screamed chic and trendy! The menu had a lot to offer and I believe every table ended up with a pizza on it! Personally I really enjoyed the meatballs n arancinni. The eggplant parm was also very yum. The only thing that bugged me was how tiny the place is! The noise level was out of control! I never understood why restaurants on that street are excessively tiny.. anywho, I enjoyed my visit but it was very difficult to have a conversation there.
google avatar

Haleigh S.

Yelp
This is a super cute spot for a cozy dinner we walked in, sat at the bar the bar space and indoor dining is very limited, however worth it if you're looking for more of a comfortable feel, they had pretty good cocktails and selections. The selections for entrées was also very decent. Had a good variety of vegetarian pescatarian and meat options. Ordered a pizza to share, which was great. The aranchini I may skip next time around but would not be skipping the Caesar salad highly recommend. Service was subpar but I would give them another chance!!
google avatar

Justina A.

Yelp
Lovely ambiance. Sat at the bar because I didn't have reservations, but I really enjoyed it because I got to see the chefs knead pizza dough- which I thought was fun. :) Service is great here! Very kind staff. Food: I enjoyed the tuna crudo appetizer. It was refreshing and had a hint of citrus! I'm not the biggest fan of Italian food so I don't think I'm a fair judge of the food here, but I found the texture of the noodles to be a little off. The cacio e pepe sauce was good and my boyfriend really enjoyed the chicken milanese.

Yelp
Good experience here with the pizza and the Cesar salad. Especially the pizza. Ambience was good although loud on the weekend, service was good as well. Desserts were very underwhelming, they tasted vegan. Would return

Yelp
What a great dinner spot! I came here in a group of 6 and we had a great experience. We sat outside on a chilly night and greatly appreciated the heater which kept us cozy the whole night. To eat, we split several menu items. Off the "Plates" menu, we got Whipped Ricotta (with sourdough, oregano, and burnt honey) and the Roasted Baby Artichokes (with salsa verde, mint, and lemon). For pizzas, we split the White Claw (mozzarella, roasted Garlic, and basil) and The Big Nick (porcini crema, mushroom, and burrata). Both were amazing, but I think I slightly preferred The Big Nick. I appreciate the fact that they keep the menu a reasonable size and thus are able to keep the quality of the things they do offer super high. Looking forward to returning again soon!

Yelp
This was the last stop in Philly after an annual convention trip, and it was a great one. We ordered some pizzas and wine to enjoy before heading back to NY and it really hit the spot. Before we arrived, I was struggling to find a place with some decent GF options and we ended up stumbling upon Prunella after some failed menu checks. Normally I don't tend to order pizza outside of NY, but this place had great reviews for its small pizza and tapas menu (with GF options). Our server was super friendly and attentive. He was accommodating and provided some good recommendations. I ended up ordering a GF Big Nick Pizza and devoured the whole thing. It was crispy and delicious - crispy is usually the issue and it certainly was not here. My dinner companions thoroughly enjoyed their non-GF pizza as well (also NYers.) I wouldn't be opposed to stopping in here again during my next Philly visit!

Yelp
Ambiance: (5/5) They have indoor and heated outdoor seating. It was a bit hectic when we were there but I still felt like we had enough space where our conversation weren't being overheard. Price: (3/5) I would say since the portions are so small this is a bit overpriced. Food: (4/5) Food was really good. The pasta left me wanting more due to the size, but it had a good balance of cheese and sauce. Pasta was perfectly cooked. The pizza definitely needed cheese. I'm not usually a crust person but I liked the crust here. The dessert was so good. I can't remember what it was called but it was kinda like fried dough. Service: (4/5) Staff was nice but things moved pretty slow.

Yelp
Great pizza and small plates! Oour wait staff was very accommodating and helpful with suggestions from the menu. Setting was great.

Yelp
I tried Prunella for the first time recently. The actual restaurant is smaller than I realized and there was a delay with seating us due to the party at the table before us. The hostess allowed us to sit outside with some wine (which we were able to transfer to our table bill once we were eventually seated). The host and outside waiter checked on us multiple times to make sure we knew they were actively working on getting us seated. We were not in a rush so didn't mind the delay at all and ultimately enjoyed the people watching with our wine as Prunella is located right on a busy Center City street. The food: honestly fantastic. I do think we ended up over-ordering based on the recommendations from the waiter, but it was nice to have a meal or two to take home. For 3 people, we ordered the Cesar salad, squash blossoms, ricotta toast, ricotta cavatelili, and 2 pizzas. The food came out as it was ready, so this is a good place to share a bunch of plates instead of getting a personal dish. Everything was delicious and I ended up taking home 3/4 of a pizza. Overall, I would definitely recommend Prunella for a dinner with friends or a date night!

Yelp
Decided to hit Center City to check out Christmas Village on Thanksgiving Eve. Surprisingly, none of the vendors were open. So, I grabbed dinner at Prunella after searching for places nearby. I arrived to find a nice, quaint establishment that was vibrant around 4:45 pm. I asked for a table and was told reservations were pending, so I would need to dine and be done by 6:30. No problem, I can order and eat fast! Upon being seated, my waitress greeted me promptly. She asked if I needed any recommendations. I ordered a drink, the meatball appetizer and the Zawzeeg & Pepp pizza. I was told food was made to order and may arrive at different times. However, the wait for the meatballs was less than 10 mins. I immediately dug in and found that classic savory, tangy, yumminess that you would expect to get from meatballs covered in "gravy." I absolutely loved the sauce and the meatballs. Bread did accompany the appetizer. I used that to soak up some of the "gravy" with the ricotta dollop that was on top of the appetizer. The pizza arrived maybe 20 ish minutes later. It was a very thin, coal fired pizza that had a crispy crust. The peppers, sweet sausage and red onion was soooooo good. I absolutely loved how the toppings came together and ignited my tastebuds with each bite. I would absolutely order the Zawzeeg pie again. Prunella definitely hit the spot and made my Christmas Village visit a success. I hope to return in the near future to see what else I can try. I will make reservations before my next trip.

Yelp
If you're looking for cheese and whole lotta carbs, Prunella is the place to be! Nestled in the center of the city, there is plenty of seating outside and some inside, albeit it is a bit tight inside. The rattan chairs with olive green velvet cushions adds to a quaint sense of style. Service was great and very accommodating to my party asking for a table last minute and asking to move the reservation due to not finding parking. We parked at Wanaker garage for an evening flat rate of $16. The Squash Blossoms were some of the best I have ever had. They were heavily stuffed and well seasoned. The marinara sauce that came with it tasted house made. The Ricotta Cavatelli was okay. The dill and saffron doesn't pair well to my liking but the tomato butter made it taste comforting. The White Claw pizza WAS INCREDIBLE!!! It was thick and creamy. There were pieces of garlic knobs which was so good. The Hot Thompson was peculiar, I would not recommend it. The broccoli rabe on top was bitter and overcrowding the entire pizza. The fresnochilies on top were a great touch and we ended up picking them off and putting them on the White Claw. I am glad I finally checked off Prunella on my list! I had a positive experience but was not necessarily blown away to come back a second time.

Yelp
Amazing pizza and pasta. Been there a couple of times and can always count on good food and drinks. Definitely recommend having a reservation, seats are pretty close together inside and can feel tight at times with a larger party. Staff is knowledgeable about the menu and helpful.

Yelp
This area of restaurants is quite literally incredible. Every place was packed with different a different vibe and great yelp reviews! The food here is delicious. The whipped ricotta was maybe a little too whipped but had great flavor. The arancini was amazing!! Service and vine is also a 10/10!

Yelp
I wanted drinks and dessert and husband wanted some food so we stopped here last night. Got a table outside, weather was perfect but it was a bit noisy from the crowd Nextdoor. I got the prickly pear drink which was good along with the mocha Budino dessert - excellent. I really enjoyed my dessert, so well made and rich. Husband got the chicken Milanese which was really good he said. Our server was so sweet, he kept checking on us. Glad that we stopped by and could have a good time here

Yelp
Food: The pesto pasta is my favorite pizza in the city. All of the pizzas at Prunella hold up really well, meaning the amount of topping perfectly balances the dough so that your pizza isn't soggy or crunchy. We got some red pepper flakes to add a kick, tread lightly as they are quite spicy. Drinks: I can't remember the names of our drinks but they were excellent! Service: We've been here three times now and the service is amazing every time. Ambiance: Beautiful indoor, outdoor space. Only downside is that the biggest table they accommodate is for 4. Would I go back? 110% I've already gone back multiple times!

Yelp
Very tight quarters. We stopped in for happy hour and found spots at the bar but it was tight and there wasn't much room for people to walk by to a seat or a server to serve food. The wine on tap was warm, the pizza was good and the meatballs were fine but the artichokes were bland. The bartender wasn't very friendly either.

Yelp
Fantastic pizza/pasta spot on 13th street in Center City. The pizza was unbelievably good - we got the White Claw (white pizza with pesto) and the Process (pepperoni ish) and loved both of them. Pizza was light with great crust and distinct flavors in each style. Also really enjoyed the surrounding area - it's on a super-popular intersection with tons of restaurants and bars in the area. Prunella is an instant favorite!

Yelp
I highly recommend making a stop if you want a calm place to eat in a busy city! The pizza is incredible and the cost for them is unbeatable! The service was great too! Overall, a perfect place to sit down and catch up with friends or just relax and get delicious food and quality drinks. The interior is good for anyone.

Yelp
First time at Prunella and I was not disappointed. Service was amazing. Our server took the time to go through menu items with us and provided us a lot of great feedback. The food was solid, don't think you can go wrong with any of the menu items. The stars were the spicy Ceasar salad and Kareem the Dream pizza. Both provided a seemingly simple item with a twist that elevated them to amazing. Drinks were also great. Reminds me of Farm and Fisherman cocktails. Well done!

Yelp
Stoped here for HH during center city sips. The entire place was buzzing. We got a seat at bar where we had some happy hour drinks, arancini, & tomato pie. The service was quickly and friendly. The restaurant itself was a cool vibe. The drinks and food were delicious! It was a great happy hour stop!

Yelp
So. Good. Ordered delivery on a Friday and food arrived quick. Pizza was hot and fresh. Nice thin crust and plenty of toppings. I need to get down here in person because the interior pics look so cute.

Yelp
Best meatballs I've ever tasted. Stopped in after work on a Monday and truly enjoyed the food, wine and people. I only tried the meatballs but they were the best I've had and came with extra sauce and fresh, baked bread.

Yelp
Everything was hot and fresh. Service was attentive without being over the top. Despite the all black door with a small window opening, which seemed very odd-putting at first, the plants and old photos on the wall were inviting. Nice outdoor area that is more roomy and less noisy than the bar/inside dining area.

Yelp
The food at Prunella was perfection. The pizza crust is so good! It was perfectly charred. We got the Process which had lots of crisp pepperoni, pickled peppers to cut the richness, and provolone cheese which added a nice sharpness. Absolutely loved every bite of the pizza. The octopus was great as well. It had the thinnest fried coating and was super tender. The salad with it was fine, but the charred lemon took the whole dish over the top. Get the artichokes if you come and you like em'! They were some of the best I've had in a while. I would eat that salsa verde on anything. Drinks were good - particularly the Band Leader if you're into very booze-forward whiskey drinks. The Perpetual Guest was refreshing and lemony. We went during a week day around lunch time and there was only one server and one busser working the outside seating (from what we could tell). It made service a bit slow, but we weren't in a rush. The outdoor seating was great for when the weather is good. It's street side, so it's not really scenic, but they had it blocked off from the road so it was a bit private which was nice.

Yelp
Honestly this spot was kind of a let down. My boyfriend and I came here for restaurant week. The restaurant was a lot smaller than I had imagined so we were shoved in the corner of the restaurant and the food, service and mostly ambiance didn't warrant a $130 price tag. It's located on the busiest street in Philly and of the windows were open so you could hear every single person and car around you. If I wanted to feel like sitting outside I would've made an outdoor reservation. The short rib arancini was small and came out lukewarm at best. The branzino was so good but it was the size of my two fingers put together. For $16, come on. They were out of the ravioli which was the main thing I was looking forward to. It's Friday night restaurant week and you're going to run out of the one of three pastas you make? Okay. The white claw pizza was good but it was very very greasy. All in all, it was good but I just expected better. I think the biggest let down was the way they advertise restaurant week. It's advertised as $40 a person and you get two plates one pasta one pizza and one zeppoli. If I had come alone that's what would have been served to me. Apparently the menu is per party? So we ended up sharing two plates a pasta and a pizza. That's completely fine as long as it's advertised that way. Don't advertise one way and then change things when the party arrives.

Yelp
Didn't plan on stopping in but walked by it and it looked super cute so sat down for a dinner and was glad I did. The waitress and staff were really nice. Waitress was helpful with the menu as well. Ordered a bunch of dishes and all hit the spot: Calamari - What I always appreciate about a good calamari dish is when they include the tentacles... and toss a grilled lemon on the side. This dish was great. Bronzino - Although this is listed as a starter it is an absolute meal. It comes on a bed of cannoli beans. The dish is clean fresh and I very good option for a healthy filling meal. Gosh had a great crisp on the skin as well. Meatballs - Yes we ordered a lot of food. These really really good. I gobbled them all down and this could also eat as a meal in my opinion. Burrata - A good dish but probably ranked appropriately in my list. Overall really enjoyed the experience and would go back.

Yelp
We stopped by Prunella for happy hour and had a great first experience. Service was attentive, without being stuffy or overbearing. They have a handful of outdoor seats for happy hour, first come first serve! Both dishes we got were delicious. I highly recommend the arancini for happy hour, a great deal at $5 and the quality was very good with generous amounts of parmasean. The pizza crust texture was there for us too, especially if you're a fan of thin crust style. The sauce and flavor of the rosa happy hour pizza was solid, nothing to write home about but good enough for happy hour. We left feeling full with 2 rounds of drinks and our bill came to about $60 with tip, which these days is pretty good for the quality of service and food we received this day. I would absolutely return for either happy hour or dinner based on our experience.

Yelp
Came here for happy hour at the bar. The happy hour menu has a nice selection of food and drinks at discounted prices. I tried both of the happy hour cocktails, the mulo and the honey fitzgerald. Both were perfectly mixed, strong but tasty drinks. I started off my meal with the meatballs. The meatballs were nice and juicy but deserved a more flavorful sauce. Next up was the arancini. I was surprised I got a plate full of them at happy hour prices. I devoured that plate of food, as these were the best versions of arancini I've tasted. I didn't stop there, as I had to try the pepperoni pizza. The thin crust was firm, and the pizza was covered in pepperoni. It was delicious. Everyone around me was getting pizza and loving them, so you can't go wrong with the pizza. Prunella definitely has one of the best happy hours in the city. The ambiance is nice, and the bartender and the people dining around me at the bar were cool. It felt like a steal as I looked at my bill completely stuffed. I'm generally shocked at my restaurant bill these days, but not in the good way I was shocked this time. Make Prunella your next happy hour destination!

Yelp
So so good! This place has a WAIT that is well worth it! Luckily, we made a reservation for a Friday night and were sat right away. The place is cozy, the servers are super friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. There wasn't a single thing we tried that we didn't all love. We had the pizza with mushrooms and burrata, the rigatoni, and eggplant Parmesan, and it was enough for 4 people. Highly recommend the first 2!!! Eggplant Parm was good, but we just loooved the pizza and pasta. We also loved the cocktails!

Yelp
Came here for happy hour, 4-7pm. Happy hour is only available at the bar and sidewalk seating. Loved how cute the ambiance was! Decor and lighting were very classy. Food was delicious, the level of quality expected at a Schulson Collective restaurant. Whipped ricotta was paired nicely with honey, on very very crusty bread. Meatballs and Aracini were classic. Pina colada was outstanding!! Very pleased at the mocktail option. Pizza has thin crust and is fired in a brick oven next to the bar. Good flavor. Will come back.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place since they open and decided to come one day during their happy hour. Pizza and cocktails were delicious! For happy hour price, you get a full size pizza which did not disappoint. we also got the meatballs and Caesar salad which was all very good.
