Visited from out of town for Transitions on New Year’s Day. First impression is that I’m unimpressed/some people and characteristics soured it, but some staff was lovely.
Early morning it was packed like sardines. Facing the stage downstairs, I was halfway up on the right and a security guy tells us to keep it moving forward. I’m sober, trying my best. It was too packed to move/some “owl” eyes were not moving, stopping me from getting further up to try to make nonexistent room. A minute or two later he repeated himself then said to me personally he “hopes to not see me the rest of the day”. Unimpressed. I had previously vocalized I was trying but couldn’t then was singled out for something out of my control — nowhere to move without shoving or pushing in a place that was likely pushing the maximum allowed capacity. Between this specific staff member and being packed like sardines, not a fan.
Credit where credit is due: the bartenders were very friendly.
Additionally at one point my girlfriend needed feminine products, asked the bathroom attendant, who just stared at her after being asked multiple times. I approached the man holding the fort down inside by the window where they took our tickets. He was very friendly and sincere and the wonderful woman at said “window” area got me what I needed for her. They made a lackluster experience a bit better and improved the morale we were feeling — a big thanks to them for the help and cheerful mood on a crazy day. Thank you.
Side note: drinks, even shots, are quite pricey, but was willing to pay for the convenience.
