The 15 Best New Restaurants in Paris | Eater

"After leaving London’s Holborn Dining Room in 2022, English chef Calum Franklin joined the Bertrand Group’s Public House, his first role in the French capital. Nicknamed the “pie king” after he set up Holborn’s pie room in London, Franklin brings a handful of his iconic latticed pies (like chicken and wild mushroom, Montgomery cheddar, dauphinoise potato and caramelized onion, or braised beef and marrow) to this colorful British brasserie a couple of blocks from the Opéra Garnier. You’ll also find a selection of pub staples like Scotch eggs (done here with boudin noir), fish and chips, sausage and mash, a very good sticky toffee pudding for dessert, and, of course, plenty of beer. Located in the 2nd arrondissement." - Lindsey Tramuta

As the name of the place implies it is a pub, but it is more than a pub! The restaurant on the top floor is beautifully decorated and is very charming. Fish and chips is as good as the best of the ones in the UK. The vegetables pie was delicious. The lady serving us was extremely attentive and friendly. It is a great place for a casual meal in a relaxed atmosphere.

We had a great lunch here! The food was simply amazing, every dish was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. A big shoutout to our waitress, Merry, who recommended some of the best dishes on the menu and she was super friendly along with the way she passionately described each option, making our meal that much more enjoyable. We’ll definitely be back!

As someone who lived in the UK for a long time, I have to say that the fish and chips served in this pub is better than every fish and chips I ate in England. Unlike most pubs in England, there's more fish than batter. The place has recently been refurbished and they've done an amazing job. It's classy and has all the codes of proper English pub. Took me back to my days in England. Loved it.

I visited here during my trip to Paris with my 2 other friends. The location of this restaurant is very close to opera. They were very accommodating even we were late to our reservation. We ordered avocado salad, fish and chips and some wine for dinner and the creme Brulee dark chocolate for dessert. Everything was exceptionally delicious. Fish and chips is big enough to share with two people. Our server Eren was very professional and friendly. We will definitely come back here again.

Our last night in Paris and we had our final dinner here. This was truly the BEST Guinness Pie I’ve ever tasted. Cocktails were on point. Highly recommend!

Super nice place, especially on the first floor with open windows. Has billiard tables, clean toilets and amazing staff. Food was very average, I'm pretty sure that no-one was impressed by it (out of our group of 12 people). Entrées were very oily, all tasted pretty much the same, fried pickles were tiny and you could just taste the deep frying batter not really pickles. Apparently they are famous for their pies, so most of us ordered them, but they ended up being dry and tasteless (I ate the one with potatoes and cheddar and cream, it was so dry that I'm pretty sure there was no cream whatsoever and cheese was probably forgotten, since no-one could taste it). The pulled pork burger was also pretty average, not especially tasty. The chicken was very well prepared in the salad. Desserts on the other hand are totally worth it - all of us were impressed! The Pistachio cookie was delicious as well as the sticky toffee pudding! I'd love to go there again for dessert, but I'll never go there for a meal again. Staff was a m a z i n g the whole night and answered all our requests promptly. They were so pleasant, with good humour, very knowledgeable about everything from the menu.

Incredible and delicious experience. Food was outstanding, one of those places where you want to eat as slow as possible to savour every bite. Drinks were fantastic, unique, and so tasty. Great service and warm atmosphere. Great vibes here. Everything we had was perfect and the best meal I've had in Paris

Best English food I had in Paris ! The potato cheddar onion pie was sooo good! The flavors are well balanced. I can taste the cheddar unlike other comments, maybe the chef improved.🤗 The dessert pistachio cookie is a tuerie. I think it’s not completely baked so it’s hot and soft. Pairing with vanilla ice cream was just perfect. Restaurant vibe and decor is top too !
