Absolutely love this restaurant. The ambiance is fantastic (I love the live magnolia plants they use as dining arrangements and the spherically shaped candles lining the walls), the food is great and the cocktail list is stellar! In the spring and fall, when they open up the windows and industrial garage door in the dining area...well, it's just fantastic. Do yourself a favor and check it out if you haven't been!

The place is so hip and cool. I love the atmosphere. It's absolutely industrial chic. Service was warm and comforting. The food was pretty good. The kimchi waffle was mild but wished the waffle was crispier and the pork more tender. However, the flavors of the slaw blended well with the rest of the dish. The baked eggs brings warmth to your soul. It's yummy!

I love this place. Great chefs who serve inventive fusion dishes that are HEALTHY!! (no deep fried 'Comfort'). Great meat with an Australian/New Zealand touch. Great vegetarian options and delicious green sides. The cocktails are exquisite. The price is good for the quality and the bar next door after dinner is great fun. Come here and experience real food!

Brunch is the way to go here. Love the scone bar with various preserves. The passion fruit a standout. Can't go wrong with the coconut ricotta pancakes order and the side syrup matched up well with it. Great coffee and bloody mary's for brunch as well. Service was great and they explained everything well on the menu and answered our questions on items we weren't sure about.

Super swanky setting with tons of personality: candle lit steps, punch card menus, garage door styled window... Food is also unique and memorable. Ceviche was amazing. The venison was rather tough. I think there was a bit of tendon in the cut. Otherwise high quality food and setting for a price.

Public's dishes lend themselves very well to sharing between two people. Everything on the menu is "inspired by travel", but don't expect anything too exotic. Instead, you'll find simple offerings, prepared carefully and consistently. The highlight of the Public experience is the extensive cocktail list. You'll find classic cocktails prepared in a unique way. The often unexpected additions are much appreciated; they keep the drinks just this side of tired.

Awesome place. Far enough away from the touristy part of Nolita, which makes it quieter and more charming. The servers are engaging and professional. The food is unique and great. And finally the decor is one of the best parts - you can either eat in the more brightly lit, slightly fancier part of the restaurant, or in the more bar-menu-oriented and more dimly lit side of the place. I would definitely recommend the latter.

I went there recently for desserts and drinks. Get the dessert sampler - they really have picked the best of all they have on the menu. If you can, there's a cute space tucked back in the corner where they seated us. I'm not sure how hard it is normally to get a place there, but it would be the best date spot ever. Separated from the rest of the restaurant and with a bit more warmth than the more open general seating. Brunch here was good but I found the portion sizes small and the value for the price to be a little off-balance. I'd like to come back for a proper dinner.
