Publix Is Replacing the Disco Kroger on Piedmont Road in Buckhead | Eater Atlanta
"A brand-new 55,000-square-foot Publix is slated to replace the demolished Kroger building as part of a two-year redevelopment at 3330 Piedmont Road; construction is expected to finish sometime in 2024. It will take over the longtime Kroger space but the piece notes it’s unlikely this Publix will enjoy the same local notoriety or fondness as the former store, and asks that people not call it the 'Disco Publix.'" - Beth McKibben
Beautiful location right in the heart of Buckhead. Spacious parking lot amazing building surrounding lots of places to eat right in this area. This location has a café coffee bar you can pull up to and brew ☕️ up some action 🇺🇸💯👏🏽🐺
Thankful that they purchased this beautiful development. Will be a staple for the neighborhood for a long time to come.

Absolutely love the new Publix in Buckhead! The store is beautiful, clean, and well-organized. The coffee shop upstairs is a great touch—perfect spot to relax with a latte or smoothie. Tons of fresh food options, from sushi to pizza and wings. Staff are friendly and helpful. Great experience overall!

I’m giving one star and I have a few reasons why. I’ve given this Publix over a year now to meet or even get close to public shopping standards. As a former employee in Florida, I understand the standards are rigid, but very achievable. The grand majority of the other Publix is around Buckhead beautifully meet the minimum standards. This Publix is big. It’s new. It’s a new concept for the area. But unfortunately, that’s all it has going for it. The staff is willfully under trained and painfully slow. The sub station in deli section is dirty. The staff has an attitude. After giving up on the substation. I tried out the new hot bar section. Standing by the ordering station for long enough to make eye contact with who I presume was manning that station just for them to give me a nod and continue walking to talk to another employee. This is just a recount from my latest interaction in the store. I’m hoping this feedback pumps management to do something because I would love to see this location flourish. In my opinion, the sushi and the coffee bar is doing OK.

Do NOT order sushi here. The worker circled in the picture was insanely rude and didn't want to serve me. He made it clear that I wasn't welcome. I asked for the custom poke bowl and he tried to act like they didn’t make those even though I’ve ordered them before. He then tries to shortchange me on the protein in my bowl. I ordered the bowl that comes with 4oz of protein and he grabs a pinch of protein to put in the bowl. I let him know that that isn’t 4oz and he argues with me calling me a liar. I then get his supervisor and they weigh the protein and it was 1.5oz. I knew what I was talking about. Will not order from here again. The rude entitled worker got a slap on the wrist. The store manager said he could do nothing because the sushi workers work for an agency, but they still represent Publix so it’s a reflection of your business. Please stop hiring people that work in our community that don’t want to serve us!

The deli staff and station are consistently unsanitary, and their food-handling practices are concerning. I have given this location multiple chances in hopes of a better experience, but the situation has only worsened. I have observed employees using the same gloves to push trash into the garbage, wipe their faces, clothes, and hair, and then proceed to prepare sandwiches and salads. I also witnessed an employee use disgusting dirty dishwater to wipe the knife used to cut subs and then continue making food with gloves soaked in that same dirty water.
These behaviors demonstrate improper sanitation, cross-contamination, and a serious disregard for food-safety standards. I am genuinely surprised that customers have not become severely ill. Please ensure these employees are immediately retrained on proper food-handling techniques and safety protocols.

Picked up the tuna poke bowl from their poke bowl station yesterday - it was amazing. The store is huge, so new and clean, with tons of options beyond the usual grocery run. The poke bowl was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I wanted for lunch. The atmosphere makes this location stand out. I’ll definitely go back.
