Coffee Bar Larakin in Midtown Serves Wine and The Bassment Cocktail Lounge Opens at Apt 4B in Buckhead | Eater Atlanta

"I noted that the new Publix finally opened on Hank Aaron Drive in Summerhill, bringing a long-awaited grocery option to a neighborhood once considered a food desert; as longtime resident John Helton pointed out, many lived years without any grocery stores within miles, and neighbors are excited for the new store." - Beth McKibben

It was not a good experience. My daughter and I wanted heroes for lunch, in the line the first person was so aggressive and short and not nice. ( No one was smiling in this camp) Second line lady had eyelashes so long I don’t think she could see a she really fixing want to be there. The last young lady must have been new because numbers 2 was ordering her around… the only thing positive about this visit was my sandwich I had for lunch. I was looking for watermelon in the cup so o went over to the place they had them. There was 2 folk stocking.. s Im looking for my choice the guy was looking at me like… what you want over here doing you see us doing something… mind you I saw that and made sure I wasn’t in their way.. So yes I’ll will visit again and hopefully I will have a better visit… The star is for the sandwich.. I never got the fruit…

I was in midtown on my way home and needed a store that I could access quickly. Googled Publix and realized this location was on my route home. Perfect. The store is made with the new design. The deli is almost at the front door. The food smells so good as soon as you enter the building. They know what they are doing. My goal was to scoop up some toilet paper and water. That didn't stop me from going uo and down the aisles. Store was well stocked. Everything was neat. I found some seasonings. Thats a plus. Also I use a motorized cart. It's nice that they had them available and charged. Not all stores have them. The cashier was pleasant and helpful. She asked me about the flavor of ice cream I chose and gave me some nice suggestions. I would gladly return.

Concerning Experience with Expired Product and Lack of Date Checking I recently purchased a jar of mayonnaise from this Publix location at Summerhill. Unfortunately, after consuming some of it, I noticed the expiration date was February 2025 (it is currently April 2025). This is quite concerning from a food safety perspective. Even more troubling was my conversation with the product manager regarding this issue. I was told that expiration dates aren't actively checked because there's an expectation that items will sell quickly enough. This attitude is frankly unacceptable and raises serious questions about the store's commitment to ensuring the freshness and safety of the products they sell. Adding to my concern was the fact that this was a brand of mayonnaise I hadn't seen at this location before. It was heavily stocked and on sale, leading me to suspect it might have been close to or past its expiration date before being prominently displayed. While I generally appreciate the convenience of Publix, this experience has significantly eroded my trust in the quality control at this particular store. Selling expired food, especially without proper checks, is a serious issue. I urge management to retrain their staff on the importance of monitoring expiration dates and to reconsider the practice of relying solely on quick sales to avoid selling outdated products. Shoppers should be vigilant and always double-check expiration dates themselves at this location. I will be contacting Publix corporate about this experience.

A few days ago I ordered two subs online that were made incorrectly. I called that day and was told I could come back and have them remade or get a refund. I was also told on the call that I didn’t have to come back that day because it was inconvenient for me to do so, as this is not the Publix closest to where I live. Well, I came back today and had the worst experience I have ever had at any Publix. I went to customer service first to make sure I was good to get my sandwiches remade. That was like a 10 min wait just to get a manager’s approval. Then I was told that the ticket would be given to the deli employees in the back to remake my order. Well, that’s who messed up my order in the first place so I didn’t want to do that. Therefore I opted to stand in the sandwich line, even though there was a line. There were about 5 people ahead of me, but I didn’t think it was a huge deal because I’ve waited in plenty of Publix sandwich lines before. From the time I joined the line to the time I left the line was about 45-50 minutes. I then had to go back to customer service to check out. The manager happened to be present and by this time I was beyond frustrated so I talked to the manager about my long wait. Although she apologized, she defended my wait with the fact that they were busy and it’s “always like this”. I told her I have been to other locations where they had long lines and never had to wait this long. She told me this location is always like this and she doesn’t know why. I won’t be back this location, EVER. I understand this may not be the most glamorous location for a Publix, but the patrons of this neighborhood still deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. The overall lackluster attitude here is not reflective of any of the experiences I’ve ever had at any Publix. Shopping definitely isn’t a pleasure at this location, and I feel bad for the people of this neighborhood because it’s pretty much a grocery store desert over here and there are no other options. Lack of competition is no excuse to treat people poorly or with disregard. Do better, Publix.

Nice on the outside, disastrous on the inside. Amazing to see such a low grade class of employees that can drag a respected brand to the lowest lows. The subs I had ordered at 7:30 for an 8:15pm pickup were not made until 8:45 25 minutes after I go there. Other customer asked since there was no more bread, what time do the subs closed, the employee said they didn’t know and asked another employee who said sometime around 8…anyway, no cups left, just lids sitting on the counter, cakes look like they were dropped on the floor and picked up, there’s place to eat above the checkout but just pitiful surroundings for what looks like should be one of the newest and cleanest locations but absolutely disheveled and run down. Corporate needs to clean house on this place.

This is usually my favorite location , the other day I brought my mom so we could get subs and the workers in that area were so rude and off putting , cutting everybody off before they could even say what they wanted! Then there was a man stocking the fruit , my mom was looking for watermelon , he’s looking at her like she’s in his way 🤨. It’s a nice location but what about the customer service? Very disappointed . ** mom will have photos in her review

I love this Publix! It's always clean and the staff is always friendly! Never have issues with parking. Also, the Jerk Turkey sandwich from the deli is awesome!!! I usually get a ham and turkey spinach wrap with everything, but I decided to try something different. I was not disappointed. My mouth is watering now just thinking about it! I may get one in the morning! See you all soon 😘 !

This Publix looks extre has an extremely different inside and out. Outside it puts me in mind of a couple of shipping crates or small warehouse tucked off and positioned sideways. It ha a different layout from all the other ones I've visited. The deli is in the front to the right, when you walk in, but the bakery is in the back left corner of the store. This was odd and I saw no signage. I asked a young man who was stocking and he directed me very clearly. Thank God the cakes were ready. Grabbed some ice-cream on my wat to checkout. The check out was quick and simple. However, the parking lot is very different and I was almost ran over by a lady driving a black SUV. She decided that she didn't want to wait on the car in front of her to move, so she went around. Came inches from me and looked at me as if I did something wrong. Overall great customer service and friendly cashier.
