Been here 3+ times, as it is a walk from my place. Each time, I order the menudo (so my review may be biased). I love the menudo here, it is not heavy and does not have hominy. I appreciate this as some places make the soup mostly hominy, way too salty, and not much tripe. This serving has much tripe and is such a value for the price paid. I always have left overs for dinner! I've also had the tamal, and some bites from friends I brought with me (burrito, tostada, and margarita). All were good, the margarita didn't have much alcohol but still tasty. Once again, I love the proximation to home and menudo soup. Bonus points for the beautiful Our Lady of Guadalupe right when you enter the doors!

Awesome food, super kind staff! We got the pozole and enchiladas and they were fresh and yummy!!!

Been coming here since I was a young man, the food is always amazing, the older women serving also have amazing customer service. At times they can be a bit dry and moody, but the food quality never declines. My significant other and I come here on a weekly basis and are yet to be disappointed. Give them a chance! They are great people regardless of the reviews that are up. Best tacos on Milwaukee!

Google
I highly recommend Puebla if you are looking for a casual Mexican dinner/marg with phenomenal bang for your buck! Maria (the owner) is incredible! Def a classic American Mexican restaurant (which I’d like to think we all love) with a Latin American taste in every dish. She not only made me feel so welcome but also told me all about the different beverage/food options when I asked her. I also got to chat with her about random things which was truly a delight. If you have time to stop by I’d absolutely recommend!

The late great Heavy D pondered aloud "Now that we found love what are we going to do...... with it"? I say eat 🌮 tacos. This place in Logan Square was an absolute HIT!! The tacos were amazing and the tostadas will definitely keep the party going... Now the beverages... Oh the beverages...... do exactly what they are intended to do... We give this place a 5 🌮 🌮 🌮 🌮 🌮 out 5 and the Drinks get 5 🍸 🍹 🍸 🍹 🍸 out 5!!! Take a quick trip to Logan... You won't be disappointed!!! #tacotuesday #tacosarelife #doinglifetogether #tacostacostacos #tequilatuesday

It has been a long time that I've been to this place, the restaurant has been here for about thirty years so decided to stop by. The restaurant is big, and since it was breakfast time, there was not a lot of people inside. Our server did not say her name but she has been working here for some time now, she did recommend some items so we ordered Jamaica and Horchata water, both very sweet so perhaps next time I will order a smaller one. The plates are big so they can be shared, the Shrimp fajitas were good, not spicy, and the Enchiladas Poblanas were good as well. Typical Mexican dishes that come with a side of rice and beans of your choice, I think she mentioned 3 types of beans and 2 of rice. The food didn't take long to arrive and our server was helpful and came around to ask a few times if we needed anything extra. As we were leaving, more people started coming in so perhaps lunch is busier.

Google
Service is always great and always smiling. The owner is a sweetheart. Good food, if I lived closer, I'd go more often. The wife loves the large margaritas. We make special trips just to go here

Yelp
My wife and I eat here anytime we want Mexican food that's not made at home. Everything we've ever tried has been incredible and the consistency stays level every time. Some of our favorites are the Carne Asada tacos, Pollo tostadas and Fajitas De Res. A legit GO-TO spot for us. The service is always super friendly and quick and they are very detail oriented when it comes to orders that are customized. Great portions, fresh ingredients and super tasty menu. WE LOVE PUEBLA!

Yelp
Great spot for food and or late night drinks ahead of a movie at the Logan Theater if you want something different than what they serve at the theater bar before heading in. The margaritas were great as was the guac and chips order. Server was really nice, and we liked that they were attentive but also doing a really good job cleaning the place up near the end of the shift. You can really tell they want to keep the place tidy which is nice considering they're open a lot of the time.

Yelp
Great service in a cute spot. The food is serviceable and, honestly, better than most other options in the area. But, no need to go out of your way to come here. Got the huevos Mexicanos. Good enough!
google avatar

Yelp
Fantastic service, Marta is a delight. She was a lovely companion to chat with. The food is decent and the margs come pre-mixed, but you can play whatever you want on the jukebox, and if you have a flick to catch next door, Marta will hold your to go food for you to grab after the show!

William R.

Yelp
The food here is amazing. The margs are out of this work. The service is top tier and the ambiance is fantastic. I could not recommend this place enough!

Yelp
I was doing some shopping in the area and decided to pop in here for lunch. There was nobody else in the restaurant which was a bit concerning at first, but the waitress was so nice and immediately brought us free chips and salsa which was delicious. I got a vegetarian burrito which came with mexican rice and beans and it was all great. The food is massive, I ended up taking half of my burrito home as leftovers. Would highly recommend stopping in if you're in the area!

Yelp
Amazingly, almost shockingly good. Pretty extensive menu with all the favorites. Strong margaritas and very kind and fast service. We arrived about an hour before our showtime next door at Logan Theater. We got drinks and dinner with enough time to get our pick of seats next door. They were out of poblano sauce, which made my date very sad and they only accept tips in cash. There is an ATM on site, but you should probably be prepared. The complimentary chips were also slightly stale and cold, but the accompanying salsa was very good. I ordered the Chimichanga Souiza and my date had the taco plate (al pastor). The Chimichanga is giant. Like as big as Andre the Giants forearm. All in all would totally eat here again; either dine in or take out.

Yelp
Wonderful dishes, friendly staff, and welcoming environment. I always order the steak torta dinner because the steak is tender and savory, the bread is delicious, and the rice and refried beans side are filling. I recommend that along with tostadas and French fries! I will be back to dine there soon!

Yelp
I decided to write this review because it amazes me that they only have three stars. My Husband and I have been coming to this restaurant for 20 years. In fact, we moved out of the neighborhood in 2016 and still drive back to Logan Square to dine here. The staff is friendly and very helpful. They always remember what we want even if we haven't been in for a while. The food is good and I would say authentic as many of the patrons are of Mexican descent. That usually speaks well to the authenticity of a restaurant food. I especially like the bistec ala Mexicana, And highly recommend the margaritas. The tacos are good and so are the burritos. we always get an order of guacamole and pico de gallo between the good food and the friendly staff it makes for a very pleasant experience. If you haven't tried them you should.

Alex C.

Yelp
Very friendly waitress. Went for margarita pitchers with lots of tequila!! Good burritos, quesadillas, and chips. It's exactly what I expect and want from the corner Mexican restaurant quick and quality eats!
google avatar

Stephanie E.

Yelp
I'm just adding on to my review of Puebla. Along with the tacos, burritos and margaritas, I would definitely recommend their tostadas.
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely incredible-- wonderful margs and crazy good tampiquena-- if you don't like this place, you're a flop. Truly great food, very friendly service, the best combo of food and cocktails you can get on Milwaukee Ave, especially after 10pm.
google avatar

Yelp
The mole poblano with chicken has the perfect flavor. The passion fruit margarita was delicious. The kids loved their tacos, burger and fries. We will be coming back to try different dishes.

Yelp
Puebla is absolutely great. A very large space spread out nicely where you don't feel crowded at all. The menu is simple yet vast and covers any mexican cuisine you can want. The Horchata here is great and some of the best I have tasted. Margaritas come in many sizes including pitchers. The staff is beyond friendly and you will leave feeling like family. Stop in for some great Mexican food that is affordable and yummy

Rose M.

Yelp
This place is my favorite restaurant for the food and especially the service. My favorite dish is the Tampiquena and they make the best Margaritas in town. The two waitresses are sweet and they already know what I want and I don't even have to tell them what I want. I hope this place will be around a very long time! Thank you Puebla!!
google avatar

Peter C.

Yelp
This is the go to spot for margaritas and drinks! The place was slow slow on a Tuesday and food was ok, I wouldn't recommend the Al pastor burrito but I'd go back to try something else or get a drink! Our server was very sweet and took care of us!

Yelp
Showed up here around 11:30pm after watching Black Panther @ Logan Theater. I had some wine @ the theater and it had been some time since I had eaten which was around 4:30. Since it was late on a Wednesday, there was only one patron at the bar so I went ahead and grabbed a bar spot as well. Anytime I try a New Mexican place, I like to try their horchata in which they were out of...damn! I settled for water which is always a good option. they girl behind the bar set me up with some chips and very flavorful/mlidly spicy salsa in which I couldn't stop eating. Looked over the menu and saw lots of very good options. I wanted to tackle the burrito but she told me it was pretty hefty and I didn't want to be over stuffed so late so I went with the taco dinner that included 3 soft shell tacos, refried beans and Mexican rice. I was able to mix and match my tacos so I went with the roasted pork (my favorite), chicken (very good) and steak (pretty decent). I threw on some of that amazing salsa and it definitely enhanced the already delicious tacos. Not usually a big fan of refried beans but it was very good along with the rice...even threw a bit on the tacos. They serve alcohol here but I already had enough wine so I passed on drinks. Puebla is 24 hours and I bet is good to take on for lunch. This place impressed me a bit so I will be back during a peak time to see how the food is then and I'm coming for the burrito, tamales and enchiladas.

Yelp
I am giving this two stars to be nice and because the service was quick a d the lady at the counter was super friendly. Food was BLAH!! No flavor. Went to get tacos one night and they had no flavor, however, if you add enough hot sauce, they are good!!

Yelp
PROS: 1. Open 24hrs 2. Parking on the street & nearby 3. Free chips & salsa CONS: 1. Service was slow at times. Then rushed at times. It was a very weird vibe. 2. Drinks weren't good to me. 3. No liquor after 2am. 4. Waitress was a bit rushy. 5. My food was just ok... I wouldn't suggest the place. Not even late night.

K D.

Yelp
Tried it for the first time last week and Love this place. Vikki the server was so nice! Food and ambiance was great. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
This is our go to local Mexican spot in Logan square, or at least it was. Recently there's been a steady decline in the food quality and overall ambiance. The servers are amazing and are very friendly. The management, however, seems to have a problem with turning on the heat in the winter and putting on fans in the summer. The food is very basic at best and there are tons of better Mexican food options in the neighborhood to choose from. I would give the service a 5 star writing because they truly are dears and do their best despite rough working conditions. 2 stars for management because they clearly don't care about their workers or customers. 3 stars for food as it's simply meh. That being said, I don't see myself coming back, even after frequenting this spot for the last 4 years.

Yelp
No hermano.. just. No. The inside decor is 80's chic. Like it could be the flagship restaurant for Pepe's! Speaking of, I miss Pepe's. (For folks looking for a location to film, I could see this space being used to film a scene. Peep their photos) The food here is no bueno. Let's run through our most recent order. We stopped in the other night after watching The Shining at the Logan. It was late and we decided on local eats rather than driving anywhere. The restaurant is conveniently open 24 hours. We had enchiladas, some seafood soup and a shared plate of meat and gravy. The enchiladas were tasteless. Caldo siete mares was costly and could have been fresher. I don't know what dude was thinking ordering a seafood soup at 2 am. The best of our table was the Bistec a la Mexicana. Which is steak with a thickened gravy, onions and peppers. Often served with a side of tortillas. With taxes the total rounded to $52 dollars. A costly lesson to teach us to scan reviews before sitting down to chow. My question is this. If the food isn't great, why stay open 24 hours? Why not close for eight and buy all your meals from Gordon Food Service. I mean it's frozen Tex-Mex but in this case anything is better than what they're serving.

Yelp
I have seen this place for years and noticed it was a 24 hour Mexican restaurant in Logan square area. Happen to be in the area for some drinks celebrating a birthday party and at the wee hours of the night this sounded loke the best time to check this place out. The place is actually a lot bigger than it looks from the outside and a casual setting. Ordered a skirt steak dinner with rice, beans and an enchilada. It was ok but I really wasn't expecting anything spectacular, a little pricey for the quality that it was. The server was very friendly and took care of us. Plenty of street parking available right outside but probably not a place that would stick out to me to come again.
google avatar

Roger M.

Yelp
Still the best pozole in Logan, we like to order it with guacamole on the side for the tostadas along with a side of lettuce to put on top of the soup.
google avatar

Megh L.

Yelp
Happened upon this place while in Logan Square tonight. A little diamond in the rough! Delicious margaritas (lots of flavors to choose from) and had the burrito suizo dinner. Really awesome! Chips and salsa at the beginning were a B+ but everything else, including waitstaff were two thumbs up

Delaney N.

Yelp
Definitely a hidden gem in Logan Square. There are always tables available, and they're open late, so we've been anytime from 10 am to midnight and each time has been great. The servers are kind, food comes out quickly, decor is cute, and food is good. The salsa is especially great--flavorful but not too spicy! We'll keep coming back for as long as we live in Chicago.
google avatar

Omar R.

Yelp
Good Mexican food always prepare fresh they are there no more with dining room always busy but the food to go always is a good choice
google avatar

Jennifer F.

Yelp
First time there for my friend and I and we loved the margaritas!!! We had the guava and peach, we are coming back for more!

Christian G.

Yelp
My first time here and i loved the music, greenery and customer service was great! Definitely somewhere you should try. The margs get the job done even just a small. The ladies who worked today really made everything perfect and i even had a little time to study.

Yelp
Puebla is the kind of place you go to at the end of the night when nothing else is open. It's 24 hours so it's going to be open even when the bars close. That is the only reason I give this place 2 stars. If it wasn't 24 hours, the food and the service deserve a 1 star rating. Reasons why this place is great: 1. It's open late. 2. It's open late. 3. It's open late. Reasons why I would never recommend you end up here before 3am: 1. Service is horrendous. They seat you and then they abandon you. Your waitress will come back and take your order in 20 minutes. You better order everything you could ever want then because she's not coming back for another 20 minutes. 2. Food is mediocre. Quesadillas are mediocre and greasy. They don't come with sour cream or salsa so you best savor some of that salsa that came with the chips. The chips that they won't refill because the waitress will forget about it. My friend ordered milanesa and it was inedible. Another friend ordered the carne asado burrito and he said it tasted really bland. 3. They don't really split checks (max 2 cards per table) and they only accept cash tips. There's a reason this place is empty most of the day - it's not a good restaurant. But it's one of the few late night places in the area so it survives.

William S.

Yelp
A friend and I went there for lunch today. It was awful. The meat was clearly heated up from yesterday. The rice and beans were okay, but all else was wrong. We were the only customers for lunch. Apparently, people in the neighborhood already know it is bad and they avoid it.

Teresa L.

Yelp
I took my son in law here for Father's Day brunch. The food was A+ excellent. Our server was very kind and very attentive she made sure we were comfortable and well cared for. I can't say enough about this place please try it. You'll be well pleased.
google avatar

Milton W.

Yelp
Ordered from here tonight as a suggested restaurant because of a related benefit. We're on the far edge of their delivery area, so were skeptical of quality of food on receipt, but figured we'll support our "neighbors". The food arrived on time, hot, and delicious. Tostadas, enchiladas, and bistec were as advertised and awesome. Great salsa and guac too. Will order again.
google avatar

Stephanie M.

Yelp
Extensive Menu. Delicious Salsa. Bland enchiladas, and tamale was not all that flavorful or tender. Perhaps we ordered poorly, but this was not a favorite.
google avatar

Carl F.

Yelp
Inside the place is super cute and it's open late but unfortunately the food... es no bueno. My friend lives down the street and tried to warn me but it was sooo late and he has no human food in his apartment and I was so pissed about being alive because of how hungry I was so we came, we saw, I ordered one to two of everything. Again, inside is adorable. Def a place I'd like to sit down and dip some chips in a vat of salsa. Service after 1am is what you'd expect from a person who clearly wanted to be home and in bed by 9pm but is stuck behind a counter. My veggie quesadilla was huge but it was also something I took 3 bites of and gave up. My veggie tacos seemed to be made with as little TLC as possible. I finished part of one but without any additional salsa or sauce given, it just was not worth the stomach real estate. The egg burrito was perhaps the most disappointing. If depression were a food, it would look a lot like like this how this burrito looked and how I then felt. And maybe this place is world's better if you eat it there, but taking it to-go, the whole order was a real disappointment from beginning to end. If you are going here (and you should- don't take my word for it, I'm just one person) I'd recommend staying and dining in over taking anything to go. Next time I stay over at my friend's place I'll be more prepared for late night munchies so I can avoid spending $35 on food I don't want to finish.

Yelp
Cute place service was quick and friendly Beef flautas plate was filling comes with beans and rice

Yelp
Awesome Chips and Salsa!! Their Coffee tastes like Christmas in a cup!! Very Very Good!! The Chicken Burrito I ordered had large shreds of white and dark meat chicken but wasn't very flavorful. I found myself pouring salsa on it to add a little extra flavor. The good news is the portions are BIG so their worth the money but although the food was filling it didn't satisfy my taste for authentic Mexican. I would come back but more for the coffee and as a midnight hangout as their open 24hrs, rather than to satisfy my craving for Mexican.
google avatar

Taylor A.

Yelp
Stopped in before a movie at the Logan theater. Five stars for cleanliness and ambiance but frozen margarita was ok at best but not for the money they charge. Service was cold and unfriendly. The real kicker was "nacho plate" which was by far the SKIMPIEST and poorest excuse for nachos I have ever seen. I was embarrassed for them. They laid out like ten chips and smothered them in bland beans and cheese. Only five dollars but even if you have to charge more give something presentable. I should have taken a picture. I laughed when she brought it out I couldn't help it. Waaayyy better places to give your cash too. Skip this one.
google avatar

Guillermo M.

Yelp
The desserts at Puebla are very good. This review is for the desserts ONLY! We ate here before, the food is so so, However, this time we came for desserts and coffee, after having dinner somewhere else. The flan is delicious, the 3 leches cake was good too. The servers are great. If you like desserts, especially flan, this is a good place to vi

Yelp
My fellow reviewers made me laugh reading the reviews for Puebla. It seems to be either they hate it because of silly incidentals like charging a gazillion dollars for a side of whatever or the waitress taking forever to bring the check, or they love it because it's one of the last bastions of rock-around-the-clock eating in a gentrifying neighborhood. Every time I go to Logan's Square on a Friday or Saturday night, it seems no one cooks--the restaurants are filled and bustling with activity...long waits, iffy service and pricey dining (yes, Lula's, that would be you). So whenever one of my Logan's Square friends dangles the "let's go to my fave funky dive restaurant and have dinner" carrot in front of me to beckon me from my downtown igloo, I usually say, "um...no. I'm doing my hair...I know, I'm boring." I'll then go out to one of the downtown/Mich Ave chain restaurants and eat my boring food but not complain because I'm waiting with nicely mannered Iowan tourists rather than gaggles of 30 year-olds living in a gentrifying neighborhood. But...this Sunday morning I decided to show Mother Nature that I am intrepid even in 4-inch snow, met my friend at Puebla, and was treated to a nice, pleasant chimichanga meal with a side Taco. Served within 5 minutes, hot, yummy and not too expensive. Remember, I'm from downtown which means I'm used to jacked up prices and being charged a gazillion dollars for sides. Our waitress was nice, the menu extensive and I appreciated that the 5-6 families in there were all Latino.
google avatar

Antoinette C.

Yelp
Not what I was expecting when I ordered steak nachos. All together with tax it was $12.10. The waitress was very nice, though, and the food didn't take long to cook at all.
google avatar

Gabriel C.

Yelp
Pretty much one of the only late late night places to go in the area. Have tried most of the basic things : tacos, burritos, tortas. They are all pretty decent, nothing that really stands out too much. I have other preferred places to go to if it was normal business hours.
google avatar

Michelle P.

Yelp
Note to self: don't order steak taco; al pastor and lengua are good (no need to salt). Try carnitas next time Friendly service. Bathrooms are clean. *not a first-timer
google avatar

Javier N.

Yelp
THIS PLACE IS FUCKING TARSH, NOT TO MENTION A RIP OFF. 1 negra modelo and 1 burrito and the tab is already north of 15 bucks. Wtf!!! The salsa tasted like that wack ass salsa/tomato dip you buy for the game on Sunday with some Tostitos chips. The chips had no salt. The burrito only came with lettuce tomato and beans with your choice of meat at already 9 dollars. Skimping hard af - at least add a slice of avocado, cheese, sour cream - SOMETHING. The tortilla or whatever used to wrap the burrito taste like the plastic packaging it came out of. I'm sorry I don't mean to be rude but I honestly feel like I got, got. Not a good feeling - should've stuck with Mickey D's across the street. I will never come here again, peace.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food....Friendly staff. Been here with friends before. Nice chill out spot before I take the blue line home. Spacious with an adjacent bar...although I never seen anyone in it. Restaurant side sees more action.
google avatar

Yelp
Only one question. How do these terrible places stay open. The food is horrible no flavor bland salsa. Just don't understand. Stay away. Only good thing here is they open 24 hrs. So if you want crappy food stop by. Never again
google avatar

Yelp
Looking for some Mexican takeout during the pandemic try this place! Convenient location for pick up in Milwaukee ave right off Logan Square. We ordered a steak burrito dinner and a taco trio. Both meals came with rice and refried beans which was nice as a few other places in the area charge extra for that. The steak burrito was huge and very filling, lots of meat! The taco trio was nice because they allow you to mix and match, I ordered 2 chicken and 1 pork, both were delicious. The order came with a free bag of chips and red salsa. They also threw in a spicy green salsa which was our favorite. Great authentic Mexican for a great price. We will be back for more!

Yelp
Living in Logan Square, I have visited many times and the service and food have gotten even worse than a few years ago. -Sometimes they will split checks ... sometimes they say no? -Sometimes you can tip on your card ... sometimes they will say cash only tips? -I usually order veggie tacos or tortas late at night which have been hit or miss (how? It's not hard and I'm not expecting much) It is such a shame because it's got potential but this last trip was so awful I can't bring myself to go again.
