Puesto Concord

Puesto is absolutely delicious every single time. We love to stop by on Tuesdays for half priced tacos/happy hour! The filet mignon taco and the chicken al pastor are my favorite tacos from the list. The chips and salsa trio is also a favorite, we order it everytime, I love the variety of salsas and unique flavors each one gives off. The potato taquitos are delicious, and the Puesto classic margarita is a must.

Pricey and elevated Mexican spot at the Veranda in Concord. Chic and hipster spot to have dinner or a meal and drinks. Happy hour might be a better deal, their chips salsa and guac are good. Their tacos are pretty elevated and pricey, their enchiladas, and margaritas are good too, service is good as well.

Had an awesome experience at Puesto thanks to Sergio, my bartender! He was super attentive, checked in frequently without being overbearing, and had a great overall vibe. His friendly energy and great service made the whole visit even better. Definitely the kind of hospitality that makes you want to come back. Thanks, Sergio

This is a beautiful quality restaurant / Bar with a nice ambiance. The food is good and the service was friendly and professional. I recommend. As a bonus, they have nice specials certain times of the week like Taco Tuesday 🙂

This is my first time here. Always wanted to try it and I finally did. We came during happy hour. But it’s not happy hour prices haha. Disappointed that there was only one mix drink that qualified for a happy hour prices haha. Let me start with the food. This place is pricey but the food is very good. Me and my friend shared three lobster tacos given it was $17 each, what!?! Yes it was small but it was loaded. The family had chicken tacos, el pastor, flautas, and enchiladas which were all very good. No left overs to take home. I wanna give a shout out to their chips and salsa! It was fire!!! The service was great! Dominique was lovely and she came with great smile. They weren’t that busy so the food came fast. I love the decor and the vibe of the place. It’s giving me family and friendly during the day but can/might be a good place to hang out to enjoy the bar.

We have been a few times. As an allergy sufferer it was so nice to have care and attention made to make sure my meal was safe. Our server was attentive and food was brought out swiftly. Food is great sizing for the price. It was a quieter time of day so not as bustling as normal.

The atmosphere and service was amazing! Our server Erica was amazing and attentive! The portions are quite small for the price and the drinks are definitely on the higher price side.

My second time I ordered the same plate because the Flautas were so delicious. Erica was our server and she was very nice. Service is great, and food is just amazing!

Every order was taken with precision, and she ensured that our drinks were always refilled and that we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Despite the busy atmosphere, Dessi handled everything with grace and efficiency, making sure we never felt rushed while also keeping everything running smoothly. What truly stood out about Desy was her ability to anticipate our needs before we even had to ask. She checked in at just the right moments and made sure that every detail of our dining experience was perfect. Her warm and professional demeanor made us feel valued as customers, and it was clear that she takes great pride in providing top-tier service. It's rare to find a waiter who balances efficiency, friendliness, and attentiveness so effortlessly, but Dessi did it flawlessly. Thanks to her outstanding service, our meal was even more enjoyable, and we left the restaurant feeling incredibly satisfied. We will definitely be returning and hope to have the pleasure of being served by Desy again!

Service started a little slow. Food came fast once ordered. Wonderful ambiance. Fantastic filet mignon tacos. Great ceviche and addictive chips. Perfect for date night.

We came here on a whim for national margarita day and although it seemed like a silly idea, we ended up finding a new restaurant to come back to. This place ended up outdoing all of our expectations. We got a wide variety of dishes and appetizers, and almost all of their drinks. We got our order quickly. The nopales tacos were delicious. I tried the normal tortilla tacos and lettuce wraps, and both were delicious. The potato taquitos were great, although I will say that they were extremely empty. One of the potato taquitos we got was entirely empty which was disappointing but also not tasty and a waste of money. The salsas were delicious. The primary one that came with the chips was a quality salsa that tasted smokey and delicious and was a great base to build off of. The guacamole we got was the Nogada, which included pomegranate and mango. This was a fun addition to normal guacamole which is typical at all restaurants, and I enjoyed all of the additional toppings. The corn was also delicious. Drink wise- We began with a round of Cadillac margaritas. These were $22 which were quite expensive. They were pretty good, not sure of $22 good, but still good. The mango and watermelon margarita were incredible options and we enjoyed the flavors, although to note we did order the watermelon without mezcal. The cucumber mojito was delicious, although I did prefer the cucumber mojito. Atmosphere- We asked for a booth specifically due to my sister making a very long drive during the day. We were told no booths were available, but we saw multiple open during our seating, had a large party, and ordered far more monetarily than anyone else. The parking was difficult as it was in a busy parking lot, but we thought would be a mediocre restaurant that established near a movie theater for substance, turned out being a new date night spot on the rotation.

Service was great! They're quick and attentive. Full bar and ample seating, so it's a good place to come for an early dinner. They do tend to fill up as it gets later. The tacos are great. I ordered 3 of the quesabirria. They're juicy and flavorful, though I do wish they were a bit spicier. Overall, would come back--on a Tuesday, at least!

Went during taco Tuesday and the food was still on the pricey side. However I do believe it is fair with the amount they put in the tacos. They are packed with flavor, tender meats, and perfectly seasoned. Our server Aj was extremely attentive, and kind.

Puesto is asking for folks to put in reviews for 10% off... yikes! The food is.. okay. Way way WAY overpriced and pretty bland for what you're paying for. Why was it $200 for 3 people??! The service is okay. The food did come out super fast which I appreciate. Ambiance is super cute and trendy inside. Overall, I don't foresee myself coming back, but appreciate for what it was.

Taco Tuesdays FTW! I love coming here because it's in the Veranda and the tacos are delicious. If you're expecting regular street tacos, this isn't the spot. I like to eat here whenever I crave fancy tacos and good drinks. I'm going to be very honest. Parking sucks! If you're local, if you plan to come here for dinner during a busy weekend, take an uber. But if you absolutely have no choice, arrive early because parking is a challenge. I do suggest parking near Dave n Busters. It's a short walk but there's a few stores to kill time at like Sephora, World Market, or even Dave n Busters. The service is a hit or miss. We ate here last night and our waitress was great. The ambiance is dope. I really love the mural art near the bar and restrooms. The bar is a good place to get drinks. My recommendations: Lobster Tacos ($17) Half off on Tuesdays and Filet Mignon Tacos ($12 -- I think). I enjoyed the Passionfruit and Mango Ceviche ($18). The plates are on the pricey side. But do try the tacos. Reservations recommended because it does get busy, especially on Taco Tuesday. The best time of the year to try to place is right now. There is currently an ice skating rink in front of Puesto and lots of Holiday decor!

Came here for a work outting on a Thursday evening. The ambiance is really nice, very vibey & cute. There's a large bar & you can glass windows that show the kitchen/your food being made. Our waiter was nice, very easygoing. The bar was a bit slow, which was a bit odd as there wasn't that many people there. The drinks were good though, just the right amount of drank to juice ratio haha. Our food, in my opinion, came out pretty quick. Speaking of food, everything was super flavorful! They do have a good amount of items to choose from. We got 2 different types of guac, which were both good! I would say it is a bit limey, to me... after a while, the life seemed to take over all the flavor. I ordered 3 tacos: fish (7/10 a lil less flavor), shrimp (10/10 my fav!) & chicken Al pastor (7/10) - I unfortunately could not get the cheese on my tacos & feel like a lot of flavor comes from that. It is a bit pricey $9+ for 1 taco so this is more for my fancy, let's splurge type of nights. Would love to come back though to try more!

I wouldn't say it was authentic Mexican food. The older Mexican couple next to us also didn't like their food and they were confused at what came out. I got the Baja fish tacos and it was bland. My bf got 3 different tacos and they're just ok. The frozen horchata was good but it tastes like a Vanilla milkshake. I wish I gave the waiter back my food because I didn't like it. I ate 1/3 of my tacos and took the rest home and it's still sitting in the fridge. The food was way too expensive for what it's worth. I regretted not picking a real Mexican restaurant. The guac had so much purple onions that I tasted it all day. The server was alright but I would not be back. Such an expensive but horrible food date. When we reserved our table for Valentines weekend, we chose the pink tortillas option but we didn't get it either. It was pretty empty for a Saturday evening.

The food, drinks, service and atmosphere at Puesto Concord is wonderful. I recently stopped by for a large group dinner and had a chance to try out a wide variety of dishes from their menu since we shared everything family style. For appetizers, I tried the guacamole and the chicken flautas. For mains, I tried two types of tacos -- swordfish and ribeye. For sides, I was able to try out the herb lime rice and the black beans topped with queso fresco. When it comes to tacos, swordfish is definitely not on the list of fishes I would voluntarily get if there were other options on the menu. However, I was actually blown away by how tender and well-seasoned the fish was. The jicama slaw along with the avocado salsa on top added another layer of flavor on top and helped keep every bite juicy. I ordered their Old Fashioned and it was well-prepared. I like that they go light with the sugar in the drink so the drink remains spirit forward. If I'm looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion with a large group, Puesto is a good option in this area.

The food was definitely expensive and it seems like it wasn't an authentic Mexican food. I think we'd rather go to Chevy's. I mean at least the chips and salsa are free. The steak was kinda salty so we had to send it back. The service and the ambiance was definitely great. Even my SIL was not impressed and will not go back.

My friend and I came here without a reservation and was able to get seated quickly. We ordered Chicharrones, chips and Gac. With two orders of Filet Mignon (THE BEST WITH THE STEAK) the my friend ordered the Passionfruit Mule and she enjoyed it. I ordered the Mexican candy shooter (mango) and it was AMAZING! Highly recommend. The space is nice, and enjoyable also welcoming for family's or whatever the occasion may be!

Everytime I come here with either myself or a guest the service is spectacular and very engaging. Grateful to feel like I fit in and apart of. I come often and the same level of service is provided which is amazing service. From someone who pride themselves on excellent customer service I think I am to same that Is the level of service I always get.

As always great ambiance. Ingredients are fresh and food is delicious. The kids enjoy the filet tacos. Agua frescas are amazing. AJ was our server. He was attentive and professional. He was well versed in the variety of plates and ingredients.

Their cocktails are amazing. Margaritas and tequila flights galore. I enjoy the chips and salsa. A favorite is the potato taquitos and don't sleep on the sauces it with. The elote is delightful. I find the black beans and rice nice and light. The parking situation sucks around dinner time but lunch is usually ok. Cool bar and their patio is nice when the weather is just right.

Service was very good on a weekday for lunch. The food was unique, interesting, and delicious. It felt upscale or fine dining, without the pretentiousness. The decor is gorgeous. The atmosphere fits seamlessly for a casual birthday party, office luncheon, or a romantic dinner. The bar is a feat to behold and the moving colors on the wall are memorizing. The carnitas taco was excellent and unlike any other I've had before. The blue corn tortillas are crisp and tender but do not fall apart, at all. I also tried the Verduras taco because it sounded like something I'd never cook at home. Boy, was I right! I would have no idea how. I didn't really detect jalapenos. The nopales were subtle, as well. I was not sure what one item was towards the middle but quickly realized it was potato. As I made my way through the small but powerful package, I tried to figure out what exactly made everything work so well together. It's symphonic adventure, in a culinary world, is all I can say. Everyone at our table of 8 was very happy with the quality and flavor of the food. The biggest complaint I heard was the lack of "dishes" here vs. building yourself an order of enough food for a meal individually. Taco Tuesday at half price sounds like an incredible deal and I'm sure they are busy on Tuesdays!

The steak tacos are fantastic, and the Serrano drink was also good. Even better is the overall environment. You can sit outside and watch the fountains, or sit inside with beautiful decor. It's a great spot, especially if you're coming to the theater.

When it comes to higher end Mexican food, I don't frequent as many places as I should as I prefer the more traditional independent mom & pop taquerias as well as an occasional taco truck. However, since my lady and I were in the area and was craving a full-on meal with drinks, I decided to give "Puesto" a try. Located at the upscale Veranda outdoor shopping center directly east of Hwy 680 off of Diamond Blvd., this location has been in operation since late-2018. There is one other location in the Bay Area (Santa Clara) but the majority of restaurants are in Southern California. Since this is a very large outdoor shopping center loaded with retail, restaurants, and everything in-between, parking can be quite challenging. We came here during the afternoon of Saturday 8/31/2024 at around 4:30pm. It wasn't too busy as we were able to arrive before the dinner crowd. As far as the interior layout, this place has a very spacious indoor dining area complete with tables for multiple parties, tons of ambient lighting, a full bar, live plants, and the Pina Patio for the more comfortable days/evenings. Since it was a perfect 80°F during my visit, we decided to enjoy our meal outdoors. We were seated immediately upon arrival and were given (2) carafes of iced water with (2) glasses. Their menu is quite extensive with a variety of traditional and progressive Mexican dishes. For starters, we went with their "Classic Guacamole"; avocado, cilantro, onion, fresh squeezed lime & oranges which includes chips & fire roasted Molcajete salsa. I ended up going with a pair of tacos; "Ribeye" which has avocado, asada pico, tomatillo-árbol salsa, and queso fresco . And "Verduras" which has crispy melted cheese, seasonal vegetables, nopales, and avocado. She went with a trio of their "Carnitas" tacos which offers crispy melted cheese, S. C. Farms pork, tomatillo salsa, and avocado. As for our drinks, she chose a "Horchata" to start off then ordered a "Pina Colada" with her tacos. I ended up going with their "Puesto Clara" beer (4.7% ABV) which is a traditional Mexican-style light lager with crisp malt flavor, hints of corn, and pleasant bitterness from noble hops. Our drinks came out the same time as our chips/guacamole, within 5 minutes while our server brought out our main dishes just a few minutes later. I wanted to point out when you check-in using the Yelp app, you receive a 10% off your first visit. Our server wasn't quite sure what this was so he brought out the manager to honor this discount. Not a big deal but I guess a lot of people don't know about these Yelp discounts! As far as our food, everything was made very tasty and flavorful. However, the chips were just average to me as they tasted more like store-bought tortilla chips. My tacos though had quite a bit of meat on the inside with the short-rib but a bit too much grease drippings. And I will say that for a single taco going for ($11) for the ribeye and ($9) for the Verduras, these aren't the best deal and quite small for what I paid. When it was all said and done, our entire bill was over $100; quite pricey for a beer, Mojito, Horchata, chips & guacamole, and 5 tacos. And that's after the 10% Yelp discount. I understand restaurants are trying to stay afloat but food prices have skyrocketed from 2021-24. With that said and done, "Puesto" is an above average place that offers a ton of eclectic offerings with an excellent ambiance and great customer service. It is also a great place to bring large parties and is kid-friendly. If you are looking to save a few bucks, they offer 50% on all tacos for Taco Tuesday (from 3-9pm) and well as a regular Happy Hour every weekday from 3-5pm. With decent quality food, just average prices, and great ambiance, I am giving the Concord Puesto location an above average four-stars.

We love coming to Puesto, especially on Taco Tuesday when tacos are 50% off from 3p to closing. The service is always quick and everyone is friendly. The kids menu option is also a hit with our little ones. Our favorite tacos: Baja fish and chicken al pastor.

Came in on a Sunday afternoon with no wait. The service was good, we ordered the shrimp, Baja fish, and Quesabirria tacos, all of them were great, my favorite was the shrimp. The pineapple agua Fresca was also really yummy. Overall great experience, we will definitely come back!

Disappointing Experience Despite the Ambiance The ambiance at this restaurant was lovely, but unfortunately, that's where the positives end. After being seated it took 10 minutes to get a highchair. The food left a lot to be desired, especially considering the steep prices. My margarita, while decent, was small and absolutely not worth $20. The enchiladas were bland and lacked flavor, and while the shrimp mango ceviche was good, the yellowfish ceviche was overly salty and had more cucumber and sauce than actual fish. For $140, this meal fell far short of expectations. Adding insult to injury, they charge extra for chips and salsa, which seems unreasonable given the already inflated prices. While the decor might make for a cute Instagram post, the food and drinks simply aren't worth it. Sadly, I won't be coming back and can't recommend this place to others.

Raymiah was great and efficient. He took both our drink and food orders and continued to check on us through the night. The tacos were really good. The filet mignon was a little chewy but still had good flavor. All the food was good and came out hot. The drinks were also delicious. The cucumber margarita was very refreshing. We will be coming back!

I went with 2 others that have just tried this place the week before. The fact that they wanted to return was a good sign. Big place. Nice and open with a lot of seating. The bar area and how they store their bottles and glasses was pretty cool. We started off with drinks since it was Happy Hour. While a bit slow inside, it did take a while to get our drink ordered. I got a mango margarita. A bit light on the mango, but they weren't shy with the alcohol. We ordered just about all of the sample and share section of the menu. And we each got a taco. I do like the different taco meat options. I'll have to try the rest next time. I'd definitely return to sample the rest of the menu.

Love coming here! This time I had a carnitas taco and a filet mignon taco. Both were delicious! The carnitas were so juicy and flavorful. Desy was our server again and she is so lovely!

A must try! We stopped in for Taco Tuesday when we were passing through, so delighted that we did! Their tacos are a bit are the higher end, but the quality and flavor is so on point. They were also delicious but our favorites were the filet minon & shrimp, the sauce on the shrimp taco is unlike anything else we've had. 10/10 recommend & make sure you end your meal with the frozen horchata (especially in this summer heat!)

I had such a great experience with Erica! She was so attentive to my party of 7. The food never misses, you can never go wrong with any of the tacos and you have to order the ceviche. Will definitely be back!

Great food! And great for work events whether with other vendors or outings with your team. Love all their tacos and their Chopped Salad (I always add the Guajillo Grilled Shrimp). And their mocktails are divine. I love ordering their virgin Pina Colada during work outings if others will be drinking. - On my first day of a new job, a couple years ago - I went out to Puesto with other industry partners. And people mingled for over three hours - it was a great time. Their ceviche was great and I their virgin Pina Colada and I was hooked. Always my go-to mocktail choice here but have tried the others and they are great as well. - I've had many fond memories here: -Took the new gal out with the other ladies at work. -Have been here with a different department at work. -Went with some of teammates out of town. -Went on a one-on-one with a work friend. -etc.. From 1, 4, 8-10, 20+ people - it's always been a great time here.

I've been to Puesto twice now, hoping to give it another shot, but both times left me feeling underwhelmed. For a restaurant that claims to serve "award-winning" Mexican food, it's a bit of a letdown, especially if you've had a chance to try, true, authentic Mexican cuisine like Taqueria Los Gallos. There's a noticeable difference with quantity and pricing. The chips were overly salted, and the salsa tasted like cheap, sweet tomato sauce rather than fresh, savory salsa. The Chicken Enchilada Suizas was watery and bland, with the spice overpowering any real flavor. The Chicken Al Pastor tacos were salty and lackluster, while the Tamarindo Shrimp was unappetizing. Even the kids' quesadilla was too salty. That said, the Horchata was good, and the Potato Taquitos were a pleasant surprise-- fresh and crispy. Puesto has potential but falls short on authenticity and flavor. Hopefully, they'll refine their dishes, but for now, there are better and cheaper authentic Mexican spots around.

So much goodness. We always enjoy coming here and sitting on the patio. Our children can play near the fountain and we can enjoy a nice drink. The kids meal is the perfect size and great price. My husband really enjoyed the steak plate which was our first time ordering. We always go for the tacos we haven't tried one we didn't love. The rice is delicious and the chips and salsa is yum. I get extra salsa and put it on everything. They service is always great and the staff is very attentive.

Great ambiance and plenty of seating. Good service and the place was clean. The food was ok to good but definitely OVER priced. Though our experience was fine and the food it wasn't worth what we paid. This was one of those places that glad we "tried it" but we will probably not be back.

Ambiance was very nice when you walked inside . My boyfriend on I went on a Friday nice friendly crowd. The food was very good , some items were pricey but it was worth it. We had a couple drinks the naughty or nice drinks were good but the nice wasn't very tasty . And we had guava margaritas which was bomb ! Bartenders were very respectful and funny as well. Came here as a get together with my friends and husband for their first time and the food was outstanding. We had a variety of margaritas, the watermelon mezcal is flavorful. As for tacos, the short rib quesabirria and baja fish do not disappoint. (I do miss the pozole taco though). Service was great and a place I'll be coming back too.

Some of the most unique Mexican food I've ever had - and I've had a lot. It's pricey, with everything a la carte (e.g., tacos are ordered individually with no sides), but truly memorable. Soft, house-made blue corn tortillas for the tacos, flavorful black beans and lime rice, and you'll have a hard time not filling up first on the smoky salsa and light, crisp tortilla chips (ordered a la carte). Margaritas are creatively presented, with good strength. Portions are not skimpy but not large. Two tacos with sides of beans and rice are needed for a full meal (though two people might be able to share the beans and rice), but you'll need three tacos if you're hungry and haven't first had chips and salsa. I had one shrimp taco, though grilled instead of the menu's breaded crispy version, and a well-stuffed and flavorful chicken al pastor taco. We were passing through on the way home from a softball tournament but we'd definitely go back if in the area.

Great food, great drinks especially the watermelon agua fresca -- it gave us a new zest for life. The candy shots are dangerous! We'll be back.

My go-to restaurant in Concord. Consistently good food and good service. I love their Chopped Salad and Filet Mignon tacos. Their steak burrito and shrimp burrito are solid too! They also have a kids menu for $11 that includes two tacos and a mocktail! So cute.
