Where To Pretend You’re In A Countryside Farm Shop In London

"For a pocket of village life in London, look no further than Pulp in Ealing. On warm days, tables spill on to the pavement and dachshunds shuffle around ankles trying to catch the crumbs of a scrollsant—a brioche pastry stuffed with ‘things from the allotment’. And like all the best countryside pit stops, strangers chat in the queue with the familiarity of old friends. Nobody is in a rush here. Grab your spicy, oozy tuna melt to go and stroll over to Walpole Park, or do like the person on the table next to you and pour over a broadsheet while sipping a glass of wine. Just be sure to pop into the quaint greengrocer next door when you do eventually leave." - sinead cranna

Pulp - Review - Ealing - London - The Infatuation

"For a pocket of village life in London look no further than Pulp. The cafe is a 10-minute walk from Ealing Broadway station, but worlds apart from the urban high street. Outside, tables spill onto the pavement and dachshunds shuffle around ankles trying to catch the crumbs of a scrollsant—a tasty, flaky, laminated brioche scroll stuffed with ‘things from the allotment.’ Regulars drop by with the familiarity of old friends—their coffee orders remembered and favourite bottle of wine plucked from the shelves lining one side of the cafe. Towards the front, students from the local college set up their laptops next to a table of provisions—fancy chocolate, plants, olives. The essentials, naturally. On any given day a dog walker could be refuelling with a spicy, oozy tuna melt, while the person on the table next to them pours over a broadsheet and sips a glass of wine. The comforting toasties alone are worth the walk from the high street. That, and the feeling of sitting in the country kitchen of someone with an open-door policy. photo credit: Koray Firat photo credit: Koray Firat photo credit: Koray Firat photo credit: Koray Firat Pause Unmute" - Sinéad Cranna

Best Restaurants in Ealing | Where to Eat in West Ealing, Ealing Common | Eater London

"Pulp is the amalgamation of Abbotshill Wine Bar and Burnt Norton, a cafe and bakery. If visions of a 2020 bingo card are rising behind the eyes, blink and persevere: the former eschews the catchy labels and the latter is literally named after a TS Eliot lyric poem, these are singular places, doing what they do well in an easy union. So, Burnt Norton’s “scrollsants” — laminated dough stuffed with either sticky almond or savoury cheese — and Abbotshill’s fridgefull of cheeses and charcuterie remain, offering a new, genuinely interdisciplinary place to pop in that Ealing previously lacked." - James Hansen

This is a place I love to visit early in the morning on sunny days. The chairs facing the peaceful, green street create a very calm atmosphere. The interior design is beautiful and cozy and the staff are warm and welcoming. While I wouldn’t say their coffee is the best in the neighborhood, it is very good and the overall ambiance definitely makes it the best café around. I also tried their cinnamon scroll and I really loved it, it’s definitely in my top 5 in London.

We had the wine tasting here, served by Jane and Abby, and what a pleasure it was! Relaxed and casual but clearly knowledgeable about their wines. We had the best time, with some generous helpings 🍷 would hugely recommend the wine tasting, as well as their scrollsants if you’re visiting in the day

Gorgeous atmosphere, the American waitress was wonderful (unfortunately can’t remember her name), great prices, wonderful cheese board and wine.

Perfect place for a morning coffee and pastry. Loved the Nutella and almond scrollsant

First time here on a recommendation and I am already looking forward to our next visit! We ordered americanos and “Scrollsants” (one sweet - black currant and almond, one savory - mushroom and cheese) and two americanos. Everything exceeded expectations, the pastries were light and flaky but chewy on the inside, lots of filling, and the coffees were perfect — strong and large servings. I even loved queuing and seeing the staff interact with the regulars, friendly and helpful. The shop itself has all kinds of goodies from wine to books and a lot of character. Dog-friendly and plenty of seating inside and out. Can’t wait to return!

This cafe has a lovely atmosphere and always seems to be busy, so I thought I'd give it a try. Unfortunately, the food was really disappointing. The pistachio scroll was undercooked and stodgy. It also had no pistachio paste at all! The only pistachio was a single nut inside. The bagel was also underfilled and doughy. The chai latte was very sweet, which I don't mind, but others might. I wouldn't go back for food

Th best cafe in Ealing! The coffee was rich and perfectly brewed, and the cinnamon bun was soft and full of flavour - absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was cozy, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. They also have a great range of wines!

A good local cafe, superb staff and really nice polite and friendly customers too. There is a warm buzz where friends and family can drop in and eat in or takeaway. It can be a little cramped when full but this adds to the charm and people are very accommodating of each other, a tone set by the staff who are very friendly, always smiling and swift with service. I loved it! The wines are very different from the regular ones available. As a person who enjoys researching and buying wines, i found.this collection interesting and very different. I dodnt purchase one but would.like their to be a few wines available by the glass so there can be tasting prior to ourchasing a bottle. (Yes i would.pay for a taster glass too). How about opening that up so one can taste three different bottles (as determined by the cafe in that day(s)) for a fixed price then buying a while bottle is more likely. I love the shop!
