It’s been on the list to visit but we hadn’t been there yet, but finally got to have pizza at pungo pizza and ice cream. We also had the gigantic garlic knots. Between the knots and the pizza we didn’t have room for ice cream. That will be on the next visit because we will be back. Albeit I’m a pizza snob from New York the pizza was good (and even better as heated up leftovers). PS: our server on Sunday 8/24 was Bella. Very attentive and pleasant.

Google
We are pizza lovers and have been trying restaraunts in VB with 4.5 or higher ratings. This place did not disappoint. It offered indoor or air conditioned patio seating. We opted for the patio as the inside didn't have seating available. Our order was placed and caesar salad and pepperoni pizza came out at the same time. The salad was fresh and the caesar salad dressing a little different than what I expected but was fresh. The pizza was so good! Seems like we need to broaden our top choices. Well made, cheesey, and seasoned to perfection. To top it off there were horses grazing across the street. What a beautiful view.

Went in with two other people today for lunch. I arrived about 11:15 a.m. and there was probably 8 to 10 people already there. Ordered the 23.99 pretzel Crust pizza. I had heard that this is a good pizza and it tasted okay I didn't have a problem with that. I ordered it with pineapple, ham, onion. If I had dissected this pizza before eating it the ham was equal to maybe a slice and a half of luncheon meat. There might have been maybe almost two pineapple rings on the entire pizza chopped up. They were so little onion on the pizza if I didn't see the extra charge on the bill I would have forgot I even ordered it. The bill is where the problem is. I was charged an extra $299 per topping. Apparently any topping in this place is considered a premium topping. I've never been anywhere at any pizza joint ever that considers ham or onions as a premium topping. That put this pizza price at $34. For that kind of money they should have been a lot more ham pineapple and onions on this pizza. To put it succinctly, I feel like I got scammed. I still tip 20% Even though the waitress should have pointed out that the toppings we ordered were extra cost that put the cost of this pizza with tip at $45 I could have got two stuffed crust five topping pizzas from Domino's delivered to my house for that kind of money . And the Domino's Pizza would taste better and the amount of toppings would be double to triple what I got on this pizza. Word of mouth will make or break a restaurant. And I would think if they keep serving pizza like this this place Will not be in business for too much longer. But people are stupid, and they'll stop by just because it has pungo written on the sign. I have a lot of customers in pungo and as I see them I will get their opinion on what they think of this place. Maybe I just had a crappy pizza maker who doesn't give a damn about the quality of pizzas that this place puts out.

Such a great local spot....Good food and atmosphere...great for family gatherings...good for end of year sports party..Arcade room in the back. Best garlic knots EVERRRRR!!!

Google
THIS is the place to be if you want the best pizza and garlic knots in the area. Plain and simple. Oh! And they have ice cream!!

Google
A really awesome place! Lexi was sweet and helpful, and the food was perfect. The fried pickles were crunchy, the grilled cheese looked crisp and gooey, the pizza was loaded with toppings and cooked to perfection, and the crispy chicken sandwich had nice and fresh lettuce and tomato. We'll be back next time we're in the area.

Google
Thank goodness for Pungo Pizza. They were about to accommodate our large group at the last minute. The servers were so nice and on top of everything. The BEST garlic knots. The food was good, but we were on the patio and it was hot, but cooler than outside for sure.

Yelp
Pungo Pizza & Ice Cream, here since 1998, is a long-time favorite of ours! We called ahead four our party of 12, and they saved us the booth for 4 at the and of a long table so we were all pretty-much together. We got a large fresh-veggies pepperoni and a large cheese, and it was just enough. We loved them both! and the sort-of-thin foldable crust. I think we got three orders of their huge buttery famous garlic knots! All delicious! They have main-dish specials Mon-Thu. They have lots of Hershey's ice cream flavors, too, including birthday cake or cotton candy or coffee, some with oreos or chocolate chips or marshmallows or cookie dough or pecans. Every kind of topping. Also ice cream shakes, sundaes, and banana splits! We got or bright-colorful "superman" red, nearly-white, and blue on the 4th of July weekend :-) Yum! And they have a popular arcade game room nearly as big as the dining area! There's enough parking right out front. We call ahead if we have more than four in our party. They have around 40 or 50 seats, but only a couple of larger tables. By the way, this pizza spot is named like its community, one of the original 1963 boroughs of Virginia Beach, which was named for the original Machipungo people of the area.

Yelp
Pizza, pasta, adult bevs, ice cream, and milkshakes in Pungo VB. Passport required from Norfolk, lol. Garlic knots are must get ($5, 5/5 stars); hot, crispy outside with soft warm centers, all drenched in garlic butter served with a side of warm marinara (pizza sauce). 16" pizzas -- 1 combo (half meat lovers, veggie lovers), 1 bbq chicken -- were very good. $22/ea, 4/5 stars only bc several slices had larger crusts to sauce/ingredient ratio. Son enjoyed his single dip chocolate moosetracks ($4, 4/5 stars). Service was tad slow but they were busy on a Friday night. Private parking, gender neutral restrooms, indoor and outdoor seating, call ahead/take out available.

Yelp
Anyone hungry? It is well worth the drive from VA Beach or wherever you are staying. The previous reviewers have motivated us to hit the road and try this place out. You know, they were right. For some imagined reason, I had a more commercial building in mind. It looked like a converted house, with plenty of parking. To the food. We had the irrestible garlic knots, they are the size of softballs, no kidding. We ordered 6 to start, hot and crispy crust and inside a delightful steamy dough, bathed in a garlicky sauce, at least 1/2 deep in the serving plate. These came with a homemade marinara sauce. My husband ordered the meatball sub. It came out toasted and sauced with mozzarella and a bag of chips. I had the nerve to order the large meatlovers pizza, note: homemade crust, on the thin side. The sauce was excellent all together it made a lasting impression. This restaurant is larger than it looks. In the midway behind the main room is additional seating, and just below that is an arcade, tastefully done for kids of all ages. There is also more seating on the enclosed porch entryway. The service was excellent.

Yelp
The quality of the pizzas are great! And it's the perfect place to bring family and friends. The restaurant is very spacious. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The desserts are also super delicious and great pricing. The arcade in the back is also fun!

Yelp
I rarely come to this neck of Virginia Beach, but this place would be the reason I come back here more often. I usually like to order what a place is best known for, and those garlic knots - omg - they are what dreams are made of in garlic butter pools of deliciousness. I did not expect the order of 6 knots to be so big (picture each the size of baseballs). Painted fresh garlic butter, crispy, crunchy on the outside; soft, airy on the inside. It took all self control not to finish them. My son ordered a calzone; I ordered an Italian stromboli. Both with that amazing, crispy outside yet light inside dough, and plenty of marinara on the side. Also ginormous, they and the garlic knot leftovers went in a pizza box. Another sleeper that hit me was their chocolate peanut butter pie. I was expecting a dense sliver of pie, but no - it was an actual pie with a light, airy peanut butter-chocolate mousse, peanut butter graham cracker crust, whipped cream and hard shell chocolatey topping. It hit the high notes of salty-sweet and airy yet crackly texture. Again, I had to hold back to not finish it. All of these items came out fresh and timely; another plus. The ambiance is like a little mom and pop shop. Not fancy, but that adds to the charm. The servers were also prompt, refilling our drinks, taking away our plates and checking on us regularly. We will certainly be back to enjoy this place again and again.

Yelp
Pick up a pizza and knots to go. Really can't say anything that hasn't already been said. Even after a 30 minute ride home, everything was outstanding! I wished we lived closer! We would be there every weekend!

Yelp
Let's start off with how cute this restaurant is! They have enclosed porch and indoor seating, we decided to sit inside. I read on yelp that their garlic knots are delicious, but nothing prepared me for how hot, crispy and amazing they are! I definitely got full quick before lunch came ... Greek salad for me, roll ups for my son.:. Neither disappointed :-). I have to comment on the amazing customer service that we received while we were eating here. We never waited for a refill on our drinks, but we were attended to often but not overbearingly. I can't wait to come back and try some more menu items.

Yelp
Ordered a 24-dollar pizza crust pizza that came with three toppings. Chose the toppings to be ham, pineapple, and onions. Very little ham, very little pineapple, and couldn't even remember ordering the onions until I saw the extra charges on the bill. The waitress said nothing about these toppings being considered premium toppings which cost $2.99 each more which put this pizza at $34 for that kind of a charge the amount of topping should have been a lot heavier. The piece of tasted okay but when you consider the tip added in you're at $45 for one pizza that's so-so. Could have had Domino's deliver two stuffed crust pizzas with five toppings each right to my house and been a lot more satisfied. I felt like this place just scammed me. Word of mouth will make or break a restaurant. If they keep putting out food like this they won't last long and nobody will be able to afford $45 for a pizza that was basically cheese and bread. Might have just been an off day and maybe their pizza guy just don't give a damn about what kind of quality he puts out so keep that in mind if you decide to blow a bunch of money on this place. Personally I work way too hard for my money to spend it on So so pizza.

Yelp
Our favorite pizza joint! Staff is young so service is hit or miss, but love coming here for pizza and video games and ice cream. They make a decent gluten free pizza too!

Ray S.

Yelp
Pungo Pizza did an awesome job. They are back. The last two stuffed pizza were undercooked and lacked fillings. We talked with the Manager and tonight's pizza was amazing!!! We have ordered stuffed pizza here since opening - we walked away after the two undercooked and no filling pizza. We decided to let them know and their response was all about the customer. Thank you. We will be back next week.

Yelp
Checked this place to see what was all of the rave about. The place looks small from the outside, but it is pleasantly large. We were seated towards the back by the game machines. We had Carmen as our server and she was SUPER nice and so attentive towards our table. I wish every server was as nice as she was to us. We ordered the appetizer sampler and everything was great. The girls loved the Mac and cheese bites. The hubs got a calzone and he enjoyed it. The girls split a pizza roll (it comes with 4 big pieces) I ordered a pepperoni pizza and it was very tasty. My husband ordered the brownie sundae and ate every bite. We also ordered an ice cream cone, regular cheesecake and a white chocolate raspberry cheesecake. The cheesecake were homemade and they were delicious. We drove from Norfolk and it was worth the trip.

Yelp
The bathrooms are both mail and female combined. I waited for a door to open to the first one and a man walked out of it. So I waited for the door to open and out of the second single bathroom and a man walked out of it. I didn't have a choice but to use it. I went in and there was just a toilet, no urinal for men. He didn't flush the toilet. I don't think I'll be going back.

Yelp
We had a pick up order and Ben was super helpful to resolve a minor issue when I checked out. The young lady who tok the phone order was very friendly and helpful too, and as always the food was good.

Yelp
I'd like to update this review since I've never been more disappointed. ROACHES. I'm sure I have your attention now... dining for lunch today we had a big roach crawl its way to the neighboring table. Nobody saw but us, so I went and grabbed a waitress to try and keep it discreet since our lunch was already ruined, why ruin everyone else's. The waiter stepped on it, picked it up, and threw it away. I can't even comment on how the food was because our appetite was absolutely destroyed. The games in the arcade don't work and are really expensive for what you get. I think the bubble gum machine hasn't been changed since 2005. Service was mediocre for sure. A lot of younger teenage girls just hanging out and not being attentive... such a shame it's gone downhill that much!

Yelp
Good pizza, service was a little slow at times but they were busy as it was a Saturday night. Overall a pleasant experience and would return.

Yelp
Why have I been sleeping on this place?! Pungo Pizza & Ice Cream (PPIC) is located in Pungo (that's why I've been sleeping, it's not the closest to my home), but seriously. PPIC reminds me of mom and pop pizzerias I grew up with back home in Montreal. Nothing fancy, just homey and delicious! - Parking - Look for the lighthouse. Center lot. - Noms - Combo pizza - This pizza is half veg and half meat. Perfect for my husband and I. I want to say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for using fresh mushrooms! Since I moved to the US and having had pizzas in different states, for some strange reason, mushrooms get a bad rap and a lot of pizza places put canned mushrooms on their pizzas (EWWWW!). But enough about mushrooms, I love their crust, not too puffy, not too thin, and the toppings are plentiful and fresh. Great size for the price and we had lots to take home. Spaghetti (lunch portion) - we got this for both of our kids to share. It's slightly bigger than the Kids size, we were told. They didn't mind sharing because we already knew we were finishing the meal with ice cream. The spaghetti tasted like the diner type, American style, if you know what I mean. Fettucine Alfredo - my niece ordered this. She tore it up and said it was SO GOOD! I didn't even get a taste haha. Some things to note: - they have a small arcade area, all the way in the back. We didn't know this until the kids noticed it on their way to the washroom to wash their hands. They have an ATM on site (at the entrance and a coin exchange dispensing machine in the arcade area). There are dining tables back there too, so you can stay close to the kiddos. - They have more than pizza and ice cream! The menu offers a variety of subs, pastas and salads. - Ice cream is made by Hershey's. They have two freezers full of the tubs ad they offer "dips" which are scoops in cup or cone, milkshakes and basic sundaes. When you order ice cream, you just go up to the freezers and they will add the ice cream order to your bill. No need to pay separately. I was slightly confused on the ordering/check out process - as of this writing in May 2023, they offer a military/first responder discount. Never expected, but always appreciated. Thank you, PPIC! Note to self: the Philly steak or stuff pizzas look interesting. Stay safe, Friends!

Yelp
The T.L.D.R (Pros) *Fantastic pizza *Absolutely amazing garlic knots *Great service and quick refills (Cons) *None So first and foremost my job requires me to travel a lot and as such I have extensive restaurant experience far above the average person and as a pizza lover in general I have been to literally thousands of different pizza parlors across the USA including some of the absolute legends in the field, so I definitely know a good pizza when I experience it. So imagine my surprise when a small pizza shop with rustic decor and high-school aged employees produced a product that deserves to stand among the greats. The crust has that perfect balance of soft and fluffy while also still maintaining that beautiful crisp crust. Toppings placed with care to ensure a beautiful multi dimensional bite every time. The sauce to cheese ratio was also perfect, gooey and flavorful with enough spice to enhance the overall flavor profile. Beyond just the pizza the garlic knots were absolutely perfect. Soft and fluffy with heaps of buttery garlic flavor. The pizza is in my top 10 of all time, the garlic knots however are easily my number 1, they are incredible and perfectly showcase the talent of the chef because to make something so simple in nature taste so incredible is nothing short of artistry at its finest. I also had an order of man n cheese bites which were solid basic comfort food but nothing even close to the level of the pizza or those God level garlic knots. Beyond all that we were also seated quickly, all the staff were polite and professional and were very quick on refills. Overall it was an absolutely fantastic experience and has immediately made me a fan. Also while writing this review I am already craving another amazing slice and an order of those holy knots. Get used to seeing the 6'8 red head with a love for spicy stuff because I will be definitely be back.

Yelp
Will absolutely never ever go back to Pungo Pizza. I grew up in Virginia Beach and always loved the garlic knots, pizza, and atmosphere. And Pungo Pizza just lost my family's business for life. My 2year old daughter has a severe anaphylaxis allergy to peanuts. Pungo Pizza said they CANNOT guarantee that any of their food would not be cross contaminated with peanuts. We brought her dominoes pizza so she could still eat pizza with the rest of our family. We were asked to leave and remove the outside food as it would have been a health code violation. According to the Americans with Disabilities Act, individuals with severe food allergies should be given special consideration and allowed to bring in outside food. In 2019, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit ruled that it may be reasonable for someone with a medically diagnosed food allergy or diet disability to bring their own food into a restaurant. When it comes to giving a local business my money or my daughter's life, I will choose my daughter's life every. single. time.

Yelp
THESE AINT KNOTS THESE ARE ORBS. ORBS OF GARLIC AND ALL THAT IS GOOD IN THE WORLD. Behold , the treasure of Pungo. This is where people get their last dessert. Pungo Pizza and Ice cream is a beautiful place to stop by . Fantastic staff. Fantastic food. Like I said before, their garlic knots are divine! I mean those knots are drenched, drowned , and garlic boarded into a sea of salt, flavor, butter and garlic. I mean you probably want to run afterwards because of how goopy and carb-y it is , but definitely worth it.

Amanda C.

Yelp
The best pizza place I've ever been to! Our waitress was great and food came out fast. Pizza wasn't greasy at all. Quality and great taste

I Will Not B.

Yelp
Our food took 25 min to come out after order when only a few tables were occupied. Grilled cheese was burnt. $5 side of onion rings was 1/2 normal size. Waitress blamed kitchen. Manager gave $5 discount. Been coming for years; never perfect, but this was the worst, by far. Farewell, Pungo Pizza, Shorebreak is just a few minutes away.

Yelp
Ugghhh. Their philly pizza is to die for!!! The crust....the cheese...... we will definitely order that pizza again. The kids thoroughly enjoyed their cheese pizza as well. Make sure you guys get ice cream too!!!! Pizza and dessert...oh and beer go hand in hand. Right? Lol They have plenty of parking. They do pick up as well if you're in a pick up and go kind of mood. Staff was friendly and patient with our kids. Bathroom wise, I apologize not really sure. For once the kids didn't need to use the bathroom!

Yake S.

Yelp
My family and I love this place. We haven't had a poor experience here; until today. We ordered 2 calzones and a fry. The buffalo chicken calzones cheese wasn't even melted AT ALL. Shredded cheese all throughout with hardly any chicken. Also, the meatloaves Stromboli we ordered was very skimped on the meat as well. We hope our next visit here is a lot better than this one .

Yelp
Sandwiches were good. Service was horrible. Bunch of teenagers standing around chatting instead of checking on their customers.

Cyndy W.

Yelp
Food is always great. Service has always been prompt with a great staff. I used to enjoy going to this restaurant in the 60s when Miss Ethyl owned and operated it... her fries were the best. The ambiance at Pungo Pizza and Ice Cream offers a great dining experience indoors or in the screened in area. The food is fresh, tasty, and overall wonderful, also.

Yelp
I'll say it loud and proud for everyone- Try the garlic knots!! Out of all the restaurants that we tried, while we were spending the week in Sandbridge at the beach, this was our favorite food that we had. I checked it out on Yelp ahead of time and all the comments were so true. The pizza was awesome and garlic knots were a hit with our entire family. It also reheated very nicely! We did takeout so I can't speak to the restaurant or service itself, but the quality of food was great. The order was able to be picked up in a timely manner. Great little spot for pizza!
google avatar

Rob D.

Yelp
I took a while to receive our drinks. However they made up for that issue in service everyone was very nice and professional. The breakfast burger was well cooked and Onion rings amazing. Chicken tenders were good and the fries looked like waves crashing. It is a pizza place so the decor matches just that. It has a game room as well.
google avatar

Yelp
This was our first time back in over 10-years. Definitely not the same. The manager was on point. You could tell she was in charge. It took the longest time for our granddaughter to get her kids meal pizza. Buffalo chicken was delicious. Sampler was $12.99 for a very small portion. Garlic knots were floating in butter. Pizza was ok. It was not even close to what it was before. If we ever go back, we'll know what not to get. Order: Sampler appetizer Garlic knots 16" pepperoni pizza Buffalo chicken salad Buffalo chicken Mac and cheese PROS: Free parking Ice Cream CONS: Pricey appetizer Knots floating in butter Pizza average

Lisa D.

Yelp
I have dined there for decades. It no longer is the same quality. The manager keeps the place roasting hot. I feel bad for the workers that have to work in those conditions.
google avatar

Cassie W.

Yelp
First and foremost, you're gonna wanna order the garlic knots. If garlic knots are the ONLY thing you order, you will not be disappointed. So much garlic... so much butter... Wow! Second, the pizza is fantastic. From the homemade crust to the yummy sauce, perfectly melted cheese, and fresh toppings. Makes me sad to live 45 mins away, but totally worth a weekend road trip to get pungo pizza and garlic knots!

Yelp
My favorite place to take my family for ice cream now!! It's always been kinda loud, but it's not unbearable. They're just busy, which is a good thing.

Yelp
This is many old Kellam's childhood so do my boyfriend so he brought me here. The atmosphere here is very kid-friendly, about 10 very vintage arcades like and yes they are vintage! My boyfriend said there should be more arcades bit they got rid of them so he was kinda disappointed. The food, I ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with grill shrimp and my boyfriend ordered the cheese pizza. The Alfredo is very plain and nothing fancy, I had to put salt and pepper. However, the shrimp was very good and right amount of seasoning. I tried one slice of my boyfriend's pizza and I instantly regret not getting a pizza. I'm not a pizza fan since I worked at a pizza place for 3 years but I somehow really like their pizza. Not over-sauced and the dough is soft but not soggy. Overall it is a very comfortable and warm place to have some good pizza and have some fun with the little arcade area. They also sell Hershey ice cream.

Yelp
After living in Lago Mar for about 5 years I finally made my way out here yesterday for dinner of high carbs and bad choices. It has a real small town feel to it and has an outdoor patio with about 6 picnic tables where you can sit indoor/outdoor and watch the cars drive by and sit family style. It was crowded with large parties and groups last night. There really isn't anywhere at all to stand or sit or be out of the way of staff walking around and people coming and going when they're really crowded and there were about 2 huge groups of 5-6 milling around that central area. Because we were a party of 2, we were immediately seated around the side by the ramp leading down into the arcade area which has even more seating in the back. Staff were exceedingly harried. We chose two starters.... the bacon and cheese fries and the fried jalapeño poppers. The fries were good, a large portion with cheese and bacon and a side of ranch. Nothing special, but good. I really disliked the jalapeño poppers. They tasted frozen or... not good. When I bit into the first one, water shot into my mouth, same with second. I didn't eat anymore. We split a pizza and did half and half. On one side, double bacon double pepperoni, on the other the afterburner with sausage, onions, jalapeño peppers, and chopped garlic. This was good - very spicy! The dough and crust were good. I also chose to get a small side salad with ranch - it was very good but again - water all in the bottom of the bowl. For dessert - they had a lot of pies and cheesecakes but I chose to go with the house made cannoli and we tried a slice of sprinkle cake with a scoop of birthday cake ice cream. The cake was moist and fresh and the ice cream was OK. The cannoli was very good and large and fresh. Service was pretty good... but she didn't check on us super often. It was really busy and cramped and loud and where we sat had people incessantly walking right past us to get to the kitchen, bathrooms, other tables, dessert counter, and deliver food from the back to the front. All in all - this was a good, small, local joint. I could see my dad loving it next time he comes to town. The food was good. Service was OK. Menu is fairly large with enough choices to please most everyone.

Yelp
Holy overrated!!! I use to love Pungo Pizza and shocked I never wrote a review years ago. If I had it probably would have been in the 4-5 range. My children when little adored the drive out to Pungo and getting their scrumptious pizza and shakes. Fast forward to this week and it's been a few years since my last time visiting. The appearance inside and out looks the same, but I bet there has been behind the scene changes. The indoor patio that you enter was clean as was the rest of the dining room as we walked through to get a table. Restrooms are in the arcade room. I found the Men's room clean with proper supplies. The arcade room brought back fond memories of my children when small begging to play another game. The service was ok, we sat ourselves and a waitress got our menus and waters. Then another waitress assisted us. We ordered the two slice special in pepperoni a Moose Tracks Shake and decided it was a must to get their famous garlic knots. The shake was brought out in minutes. Unfortunately they now serve in styrofoam. Garlic knots were served shortly after. The three knots although served in their traditional bowl of butter with marinara sauce was under done. Not bad, just not to die for. It ended up being the best thing we had for lunch. The food was out in around 15 minutes and the visual of the pizza was disappointing. The slices were much smaller and did not look attractive on the plate at all. My daughter said her shake was ok. I tried and meh! Low quality ice-cream. First bite of pizza confirmed my suspicion. It was not the Pungo Pizza I knew. The pie was bland, no flavor whatsoever. My daughter reported same. No follow up by waitress until almost finished. The bill was processed without incident. I will never think of returning again. An utter failure. I'm so sad to write this review.

Yelp
One of our favorite local spots for pizza. However, don't forget about their burgers, cinnamon knots or garlic knots. Everything I've tried here has been great. At times the service can be a tad slow, but overall this is a great spot for dining in or pick-up. If you have kids they have a small indoor arcade room to keep them entertained.

Yelp
Only downfall for us was the drive (about 40 mins to and from hotel). Breadsticks were a hit with my husband! He said he wishes we had some like that at home. Pizzas were both made to order. Online ordering was down when we tried but phone was no problem and ready in no time!

Yelp
Pizza was ok... could be better; dough/sauce was underwhelming. The garlic knots were great and certainly not to be missed. Got some take out on a Friday night, place very busy - summer season. Staff a bit over extended and a bit curt but certainly understandable. Wings good and salad... claims New York style pizza... I guess... but I've had better. Certainly worth a try... everyone has a opinion about pizza after all.

Yelp
If you expect some fold and crisp to your pizza, don't go there. If you want to be sick for two days, go there. Didn't have a half star rating, so I gave a one star.

Yelp
Cute restaurant! I love Sandbridge so I frequent Pungo and this place is great. The garlic knots are super good like everyone says and the pizza was delicious. Great service and nice waiters, and the whole place looked pretty cool.

Yelp
Happy national pizza day! We decided to try a place that has been on my bookmark for a little while. We always see this place when we attend the strawberry festival. After looking over the reviews I knew this would be the place we would come for pizza day! I am so glad we did. They have their own parking lot so parking was very easy. We came around 11:30 and were the second ones there. So glad we came early because shortly after the place got packed! Sara was our server and she was so much fun. I am so glad she was there to help us and make the experience that much more enjoyable. She was great with suggestions and also just small talk. She was so kind to my children. That is always brownie points in my book. To start we got the garlic knots, said to be the best. Well, THEY ARE! So big and crispy on the outside fluffy on the inside. They give you a generous amount of butter and garlic which again, is huge brownie points! We got the weekend special. Buy a 16" two topping pizza and get a 12" cheese pizza for $6. We chose a 16" pepperoni and half sausage. SO GOOD! Pizza did not disappoint. The cheese is so delicious. I went up front, while the kiddos and hubby were playing the arcade games, to look at the desserts. I luckily got to speak to the lady who hand makes them all. She was kind enough to explain each one. They all sounded so good. I chose the coconut cream pie. It was hands down the best piece of coconut cream pie i have ever had. I am so thrilled with this place. From the cleanliness of everything to the customer service and deliciousness of the food, it most definitely is getting a top 5 star from me. WILL BE BACK SOON!

Yelp
They have the best pizza and other pizza. We drive all the way from Portsmouth to get their pizza. Never felt I welcomed or anything. Everyone seems so nice and welcoming. Deep in Va Beach, but worth the drive. When you ask for extra cheese, you get it.

Yelp
Went here for take out and placed the order ahead. They are so proud of their garlic knots and I am so glad we got an order of them. They are the best garlic knots and the biggest knots ever. If you love garlic and butter, these knots are saturated in it, in a good way. Pizza was delicious too.

Yelp
Our first time here, our server was amazing and served us with such gratitude. The Greek salad was delicious and huge! The pizza is the best I've had in years! And the ice cream was off the hook deliciousness! Thank you Anthony!

Yelp
If you're looking for a family friendly pizza joint - you've found it. Pungo Pizza has so much history in the Sandbridge area. The staff there are all friendly, attentive, and sweet. We will make a point to drive out there or take the long way home just to stop here. The chicken tenders are the best I've had and I typically share my daughter's. But my favorite menu item of theirs? The garlic knots! You cannot go wrong ordering these bad boys. They are even more delicious (if possible) as leftovers.

Yelp
I've wanted to try this place for awhile, but not anymore. Last night after a concert across the street, we were waiting for an Uber and figured right out front in their parking lot would be a good meeting point. Cops quickly showed up and said the owner didn't want us on their property and that we had to go basically, stand in the woods right next to it. On the side of a very busy street. We were not causing a ruckus, and just wanted somewhere safe to stand while waiting. 20 mosquito bites later, I am now pissed and will never go there. Y'all should have stayed open and you would have had a ton of business that night. And VB cops, y'all suck too...
