"A self-proclaimed “American Izakaya,” Punk Wok’s quickly become a Sylvan Park favorite with its laid-back, come-as-you-are vibe and irreverent maki menu (case in point: the Nate Gifford Is Punk as F**k roll with tempura shrimp, Gifford’s bacon, pineapple, and seared jalapeño slivers). The cocktails here, along with the tightly curated Japanese whisky list, play nicely with the inventive rolls. Space is limited at this Sylvan Supply spot (meaning reservations are probably a good idea), but walk-ins are welcome at the bar." - Kellie Walton
"While Punk Wok may be known for its sushi, the scratch-made noodle options here are not to be missed. Choose from vegetable, beef, or chicken lo mein, or try the popular dan dan noodles topped with ground pork, chilis, Sichuan peppercorns, pickled mustard, and sesame paste." - Kellie Walton
"Punk Wok, located at 4101 Charlotte Ave suite G-20 in Sylvan Park, is Clay Greenberg’s new project offering a mix of Japanese and Chinese dishes. The menu includes options like Japanese potato salad, poke bowl, katsu sando, spicy Thai lobster shot, karaage, and crab rangoon filled with pimento cheese. Additionally, there are dishes such as Bangkok chicken, beef chow mein, char siu pork fried rice, ginger and scallion tofu, and kimchi fried rice. They also offer sushi." - Delia Jo Ramsey
"An izakaya-influenced casual restaurant from Clay Greenberg of Germantown’s much-missed Silo. Pop-ups and teases show dishes like xinjiang lamb, katsu sandos, and spicy biang biang noodles plus beef bulgogi-loaded waffle fries with beer cheese." - Delia Jo Ramsey
"West Nashville’s new mixed-use Sylvan Supply development gets an additional boost this summer with the arrival of an Asian small plates place that plans to pair char siu pork belly with small-batch Japanese whisky. Punk Wok will join Barista Parlor, Radish, Red Perch, and Bearded Iris Brewing at the former Madison Mill site-turned-hip dining destination, reports Nashville Scene." - Tierney Plumb
