As a kid, my dad used to take us salmon fishing out of Charleston, Oregon. The owner and captain of the boat, Emery Hanson (Hanson's Landing), was as gracious and kind as a human could be. Because of the numerous trips we made to Sunset Beach to go camping and fishing, he took our family under his "wing" and always made our trips fun, with most people on the boat coming back with their limit (usually salmon but other times, Ling Cod, Rockfish, etc.). When I tasted the Northwest King Salmon received via FedEx yesterday, I was reminded of all those great times. The fish was super fresh, delightfully moist, and best of all, it tasted just like the fish we caught with my dad over 55 years ago. Thank you, Pure Food Fish Market, for refreshing my childhood memories. I'll be ordering again soon!

Spots prawns were great!! Yellow fin seems like it wasn’t handled properly when caught. Meat should not be deep purple and smell of blood. Very fishy tasting in those parts. The rest of our fish we haven’t tried yet but since it’s not labeled in the vac bags we won’t know which fish we are trying.

Located within the famous Pike Place Market, Pure Food Fish Market was established in 1911 and offers fresh, locally caught seafood, along with smoked and other processed products. The smoked seafood, perfectly cured in salt and smoked in a nearby smokehouse, releases a smoky aroma and rich flavor that fills your mouth with every bite! ■Fresh Alderwood Smoked Salmon Smoked salmon that highlights the rich flavor of Northwest King Salmon, infused with the bold aroma of alderwood chips. ■Smoked Scallops Tender smoked scallops featuring delicate meat that gently pulls apart. ■Smoked Mussels Large, delicately flavored mussels transformed by the smoky aroma, creating a delicious smoked mussel dish. All of these smoked seafood options pair wonderfully with Wine, Sake, or Whiskey!

I went to 5 different places that sell seafood and this one had the best seasoning, best prices , faster customer service this place right here sells it the right way not dry

We get their smoked salmon shipped to Atlanta, Georgia, why? Because it’s the best smoked salmon in the world, and they do an amazing job, preparing it, packaging it, and shipping it to us to ensure freshness! Very highly recommended. Their fish is clearly world class.

I just purchased nearly 200 lbs of seafood (Washington Sockeye, Columbia River King Salmon, Alaskan Halibut, Razor clams, Geoduck and Ling Cod). I received a partial shipment today (7/23/25) with the rest is coming Friday. The rest of the shipment is shipping out later since they didn't have enough of what I was looking for and Tyler (Sales manager) wanted to make sure everything was fresh. I have been working with Tyler on getting my order going. Have also done many emails asking lots of questions. All responses have been prompt and very informative. I have nothing but great things to say about the crew. The order process was great. All products were received 16 hours after shipping (Seattle to Alabama) via FedEx overnight. Products that I recieved today were well packaged, cut as I had requested and most important, COLD. I haven't eaten any yet but will in the next few days. All of the fish, Razor clams and Geoducks looked great. Fabulous color. I have read several negative reviews, but from what I see this is a top notch company. If after eating any of the products I purchased don't turn out well, I will update this. As of today, this is a 5 Star company. Don't listen to all of the negative reviews until you try them for yourself.

Google
Reggie thanks for helping this Florida tourist out. The selection was fresh, however I found it a bit pricey for my budget; however he worked with me and packed our purchase really well to retain the freshness driving 3 hours away. Check out the tuna steak meal and Rock fish meal. Until next time my friends. To the younger employees inside joke, don't wash away your customers during closing time. 😉

Yelp
I visited this place regularly for many years when I lived a mile away, and still do sometimes when I'm back in Seattle. Twenty years ago there were three seafood markets in Pike Place. The one further north was great for a while, but then the owner had a family problem and it never recovered. I tried the popular one where they throw fish for the cameras. An emphatic 'No'. Then I discovered Pure Food and never went anywhere else. I realize it was partly because I shopped there 3-4 times a week, but they treated me like I was their favorite person in the world. It also might have been because they liked my dog, who was a real sweetheart and loved these guys. I got about 75% of my protein from this place, and NEVER in many years, ever got bad seafood - it was always fresh, delicious, and often something one-of-a-kind such as Caledonian shrimp, that no one else had. I miss this place more than any business I've ever frequented. I also feel I have to say that I'm in agreement with others who feel it's unfair to review a place based on one negative experience. Go back again, explain your issues, or don't, and keep your opinions to yourself. I get the PacNW passive aggressive tendency, but it just ain't right when you're unfairly affecting a business.

Yelp
First, let me say I'm a strong believer in supporting local businesses. And I'm a big fan of Pike Place Market, the nation's longest continuously operating farmer's market. Sometimes, I let things slide on good will. But when a line is crossed I feel it is my duty to say something. This is the fish monger right by the Athenian restaurant. Today, September 21, 2024, I bought over a pound of King Salmon, and realized at home it had such a strong fishy stench that it never saw the inside of a pot because I had to threw it out. Over $40 straight into the trash. Based on other reviews here I believe it's incompetent inventory management to maximize profits. It's not how to build a base of local, loyal customers. Sadly, I heard that the stand downstream from that location, City Fish Company, is now also owned by Pure Food. Good luck to all but I will cease doing business with this fish monger - there are other choices for fish at this market. Enough said.

Yelp
Even before a recent trip to Seattle, my partner and I knew about this place thanks to YouTube....and we knew exactly what we wanted to try....their smoked salmon. There's a huge smoker at the ready for samples... What we didn't expect was how magical it was. It brought me back to my childhood days of attending bar/bat mitzvahs and Jewish weddings...this is the kind of smoked salmon talked about for years...and then everyone in the family tries to outdo them when it's their turn to plan an event...but I digress.... We brought some home with us. Pure Food Fish Market packed it up incredibly well and we carried it on the plane. Such a treat to have a bit of Seattle at home! 5 stars! Don't miss this place!

Yelp
We got some smoked salmon samples from the lovely girl working the samples counter. And my husband loved it so much he returned to buy some! Great service, the samples girl is fab!

Yelp
I purchased some frozen monkfish about 6 weeks ago. Since it was frozen already, I vacuum sealed it and stuck it in our freezer at home. I thawed it to cook yesterday and when I cut open the packaging the smell was horrible. The fish was rancid and since it had been frozen from the time I purchased it, it was rancid at the time of purchase. I contacted Pure Food Fish via email and received a very curt reply saying "Per our terms and conditions you have 14 days from time of purchase to contact us if something is wrong with your seafood. Ive attached a direct link https://www.freshseafood.com/pages/refunds-and-returns" I have purchased from them a number of times in the past but based on this I will not purchase from them again and will not recommend them to anyone.

Yelp
Yeah idk what's up with these other reviews but I've order from them idk how many times over the last 4-5 years but I've never had an issue at all. Great service if you call! lobster was amazing and the scampi shrimp are so damn big they're easily as big as some low end steak house lobsters imo. Their actually lobsters are as big as my forearm (of course you need to order ones these big 2 pounders)

Yelp
What a fantastic experience and great local store here in the heart of Seattle. New to the area and glad I stopped by to take a look. The shop has that classic pike place feel. The staff was top notch. I had the pleasure to be taken care of by a young gentleman named Willy. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He took great care on helping me make a great selection of fish for my upcoming party. The shop smelled very clean, the fish seemed very fresh, and the staff was just amazing to deal with. Thanks to Willy and the crew I am hooked and will most certainly be getting my fish from them again.

Yelp
Pure disappointment for me. As a seafood lover, we eat a lot different stuff but we really enjoy salmon. During my last visit to Seattle, I purchased some smoked salmon from them for my sister which was good. Although the piece we sampled in the store wasn't as salty as the one we received. Since that trip, I have ordered from them twice. The first box arrived damaged and wet. They also didn't cut the order as requested. This last order was for 4 - 1lb pieces of Alaskan King Salmon. Unfortunately, I received a large filet. I also wanted to buy more and add a 1 lb piece of smoked salmon & they require you to order 3 lbs which is rediculous since the box is paid for with extra room and they have 1 lb pieces. When I called and emailed them, they really didn't seem to care and I get inconsistent stories depending on who answers the phone. We have plenty of choices out there to order great seafood, I'm afraid others seem to care about the customer more and also offer special deals.

Yelp
My cardiologist stressed that I needed to eat more seafood. Not exactly a penance. So having had a positive in-person experience with Pure Food Fish Market several years ago, I placed an online order for 2 pounds of fresh 'first landed' halibut and 3 jumbo whole Dungeness crabs. I placed the order on March 14, knowing the fish would ship March 19, and received notification of shipment on March 20. OK, cool! Then I waited...and waited... I called the store and the staff seemed chapped that I hadn't called sooner, as if them not delivering was my fault. Things got sorted and my purchase was finally delivered for real on March 27. Remember how I ordered 2 pounds of halibut? That would be 32 ounces. I received two 11 ounce bags of fish strips as measured on an O Haus laboratory scale, including the tare weight of the bags themselves. So I only received two thirds of what I paid for. The fish was nothing more than skinny strips which posed a quandary wrt how to cook it with it staying intact. I pan roasted the strips and they did indeed fell apart in the pan. I was hoping for thick halibut fillets but I got a mess. As for the crabs, they were nothing special. Certainly not jumbo as advertised. Maybe 50% larger than a Chesapeake Bay blue crab. Nowhere near as large as the Dungeness available at my local supermarket. All-in-all a pretty pitiful experience. Pure Food Fish Market requested I review this purchase, but (big shock) my review never got published on their website. Pitiful. Avoid.

Yelp
Helpful people and fairly personable. The smoked salmon is the best I've had. However, I don't think it's appropriate they play music with loud obscenities behind the counter. It's Pike Place Market where families walk by. And if I'm paying a bunch of money for fresh seafood, I want a professional experience. Maybe I'm just getting older but since when is it appropriate to think it's okay to expose your customers to rap music with f@&k and B@&!ch lyrics as I'm paying you money? I hope they thrive but that suggests a lack of respect for the customer.

Yelp
Excellent quality seafood. I usually always stop by to pick up some smoked salmon. It's a wonderful snack when your walking around. Don't be afraid to ask for a sample. That's how they get you hooked.

Yelp
Came early in the morning and was immediately helped out. Great staff with beautiful views of fresh seafood all around. Came for the smoked salmon and smoked scallops. Both were delicious. Definitely returning when back in the area.

Yelp
This has been our favorite fish market in Pike Place for about 30 years! We see the same great helpful crew over the years as well. We usually get the amazing smoked salmon that they give samples of. Also we love their wild salmon, prawns & halibut cheeks- all so delicious! We made garlic basil linguine with the prawns last night- so fresh & yummy!

Yelp
Smoke salmon and spokes scallop was really good. There are closer to the end of the pike fish market

Yelp
Phone order from our home in CA. King Salmon. The product was cut fresh, packed immediately and shipped overnight with a 9am delivery to our doorstep. I just portioned out into individual serving and the fish could not have been fresher. The shipping box was packed with great care with a generous amount of ice packs. Great job fellas.

Yelp
My husband wanted to grill for Father's Day weekend, I remember Pure Food Fish having a great grilling selections that he would could choose from. What stands out the most about Pure Food Fish Market is the customer service, Nale and the entire crew takes a moment to make an interaction with every customer (buying or spectating) feel personable. We met Neal a few weeks ago as we were passing by and even though we were not purchasing he took the time to interact with our boys which made us want to return as customers. Aside from the customer service the selections are top quality cuts, cleaned for free, abundant in variety, and size!! My husband couldn't wait to get home to prep the grill, and was beyond happy with his first meal for the weekend. We will definitely return, and I highly recommend Pure Food Fish Market.

Yelp
Open during COVID and business was clearly still brisk. Got the standard smoked salmon. Then added smoke mussels and also some salmon skirts. The salmon was still creamy and smoky, but I think it was a bit on the salty side. The mussels were tasty with a bit chew. One of them carried the grit, probably broken off shell, and nearly chipped my tooth. I still like it, but will be careful biting them off. The skirt is not for everyone. They were really like jerky.

Bashar K.

Yelp
My favorite place to buy a fish! Definitely worth the drive from Mercer to this shop to pick the most fresh fish and get the best advice and clean and cut the fish the way I like

Yelp
The fish markets were about to close, but all the fresh seafood caught our eyes, so we decided to buy some for the graduation party the next day. We got to sample their smoked salmon, which was tasty. The seafood here is really expensive, so we just got a couple of raw giant crab claws and some raw shrimp. We steamed the crab claws and they were delicious and sweet! As for the shrimp, we marinated them with Old Bay seasoning and some other spices, and then grilled them afterwards. The shrimp were very plump and juicy, but didn't have as much flavor as I would have liked. We should probably try a different recipe next time.

Yelp
Wow, what a disappointment. Was given what seemed to be a very nice gift from a relative. Unfortunately the package arrived with the ice packs melted and the salmon (smoked and raw) nearly room temperature and smelling rancid. Could not reach the company over the holidays, called them shortly after new Years and spoke with an incredibly rude and disinterested person named Willy. Extremely defensive, and seemingly hostile, he told me simply they ship to places everywhere and over the season had only 2 issues so I must be mistaken. That is great news, for the company, but not for me. The fish is not edible and I understand that thing happen in shipping--my hope was simply they would replace it. Instead, the customer service was abysmal. The miserable rep Willy informed me it was "too late", and that regardless their products always arrive in good condition. He refused to accept any responsibility or to offer any assistance at all, rather he just informed I should see their website for their policy and that the company would do nothing. So today we tossed all (a significant order) of the product that arrived from them spoiled. I asked to speak to a manager or owner--he informed me that the owner Carly would call me back but in his words would do nothing to help either. She did not call. So disappointed as I have heard so many good things about the company. My relatives and many friends have had positive experiences with the company previously. Most people, including me, understand that things can happen when sending this type of product. Unfortunately, Willy has made it clear that in "his" view this is our fault, not theirs, and that they would make no accommodation whatsoever. Fortunately the interaction was well documented and the sender will recover their purchase amount from their bank as the product delivered was NOT close to what was advertised. It is a shame to see what seems to be a good business spoiled by this type of customer service.

Yelp
It's nice but not nice. Service was nice but not nice at the same time. Came through a couple times, not just once. The sample of smoked salmon you get is delicious. However, Bought some for on the go and it was totally different. Shrimps are good, crabs are good, lobster was okay. If I am paying for a premium..I can't tell. Can't put my finger on it but just feels like I overpaid for seafood and they didn't even cook it. Felt hustled instead of feeling welcomed. I don't mind paying but give me what I paid for. Hopefully will leave a better taste next trip I'm here. 2 stars for free samples and a store that looks like you're on a fishing boat .
google avatar

Yelp
I hate to do it but I was so disappointed in my delivery. The crab wasn't cleaned well and most were broken. I could have gotten the same quality here in Phoenix AZ. Definitely won't do it again.

Daniel M.

Yelp
I live in UP State N.Y. I ordered and received 6 lbs. of Alaskan King Salmon, 2 lbs. of Alaskan Halibut, and 2 lbs. of Alaskan Spot Shrimp. The order came within 24 hours. The fish was in perfect condition and very fresh. We had the Halibut that night. I made Pan Seared Halibut w lemon butter sause. My wife said it was the best fish she ever had. I am retired Army and my Wife is retired Navy. "Go Army beat Navy." We have both been around the world, and have caught, cleaned and eaten all of these fish. I can tell you that these fish are as fresh as our fish that we caught, cleaned and eaten the same day. Enjoy Everybody.

Yelp
I have to come into this market for 10+ years. The smoke salmon is the best around. The taste is delicious and refreshing. The smoke is not too strong and the fish is tender. Today I bought smoked salmon, Alderwood smoked, and some huge grilling prawns. It is always fun To look around the market and watch the men throwing the fish and other places that have their niche. For me, it's pure Food Fish market all the way! The service is wonderful the prices are great. Check it out
google avatar

Yelp
Great place, great service. They are approved to pack fish for you to carry home on a plane these guys know what they are doing! Stop by!

Yelp
Business wasn't as busy as I thought it'd be on a Saturday @ 2pm due to COVID I presume. Came for the smoked salmon! Staff is super nice and ready to help you out. Was intimidated walking in at first but was super worth it. Definitely ask for a sample - they ripped off a solid chunk for me to try out. Was a bit too salty for me, but had a great smoky flavor. Will try to come back again soon :)

R M.

Yelp
A wonderful family owned business int he market that has the best price / quality ratio in town. Fantastic shellfish and fish in every season from honest sellers.

Bob W.

Yelp
The smoked salmon was great, and they were open to giving samples which was similar to the other shops around which was good to get a taste of the items before purchasing. Bought a few pounds of smoked salmon here as they had the best price at $48.50 and it appeared to be the same as the Pike Place Fish Market smoked salmon. There were a few items that were questionable, the first is that the employee who grabbed the smoked salmon used their bare hands to grab it to put it into my bag without gloves or anything, it is hard to tell if their hands were clean or not. Secondly, I think this is a tourist trap in a way in that the way that they weighted the smoked salmon was questionable. Essentially what happened was once the employee grabbed the salmon for me, they handed it to the cashier who puts it on the scale for 2 seconds (doesn't let me look at the total price) and then makes up a number and starts wrapping it up while handing me the credit card machine with the stated price and not letting me re-weight it. I believe I was overcharged at least $12 for the smoked salmon making the price per pound way more than $48.50 and way more than the $49.99 at Pike Place Fish Market, guess sometimes when you want to save some money you end up spending more...

Yelp
I ordered a whole salmon for my family's post-vaccination get-together. Ordering online is very simple. The shop even called me the morning of shipment to make sure I wanted it whole and not filleted. It came on time and was super fresh! No fish smell when I took it out of the shipping container. It was fun to arrange a giant salmon so that its face was looking out at whoever opened the refrigerator. I slow-roasted it for an hour and a half and it came out perfectly. You can see my presentation in the picture. The fish tasted delicious! I would absolutely order from PFFM again.
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
Freshness of the fish has been mostly a miss over the past year or so . The last several trips my salmon has been old. Make sure you point out specific pieces you are interested in. The fish today also had a 6 inch black hair on it when I unwrapped it. I always came here to avoid the throwing fish crowd but going forward I'll just head to my local market.

Yelp
In feel rotten giving Pure Fish a mediocre review, but when four pounds of salmon and halibut cost more than a $100, I expect good stuff. The market was almost empty during the pandemic, and Pure Food Fish wasn't catering to patrons at 11:30 on a Thursday morning, looking decidedly wholesale. I walked in to be noticed, piles of stuff hid me from view, and I was swiftly hustled to an outside corner. Unlike many at the market, every worker at Pure wore masks. I asked for two pounds each of anything he suggested, and he brought two wrapped pieces of fish. My credit card was exchanged, and I walked away with $101 worth of salmon and halibut. Once home, the pin bones needed to be removed. Something I didn't expect to do considering the cost. The salmon was broiled with a little mustard on top. Unfortunately, if it wasn't for the mustard, the seafood would have absolutely no taste. The texture was also kind of mushy/soft. I was so disappointed. I so hope the halibut is better. Next time, I'll try a different fish shop. Maybe the salmon was an anomaly. Halibut, please be good.

Jasmine I.

Yelp
Update: both recipients received their shipments. Can't speak to the quality of the packaging/ items received but they got it!

Yelp
I bought a delicious Alaskan King crab leg from Pure Food Fish Market and they chopped it up so I could eat it in my hotel room. At $29.99 a pound, this is cheaper than City Fish Co., at $39.99 a pound. Both crab legs were fresh and tasty! Pure food is cheaper and just as good. Chase helped me and he was so friendly and nice. Gave me a sample of smoked salmon too. I'm considering buying some crab legs to take home. Much cheaper than at a restaurant (but of course, no melted butter and side of cous cous). The crab leg I had at Cutters last night was hot, and did not taste as sweet as the crab legs I bought today at Pike Place Market.

Yelp
I've been coming here since I was a kid. Huge fan of the halibut cheeks. They catch impressive size halibut and its major quality fish. The best stand out (and what they are known for) is the smoked salmon. All the flavors are amazing and it's all year round!!! It's tender and true perfection. The service here is amazing. All the guys here want to actually TALK to you, not just sell you something and move on. This place is where the true locals go to get the best fish.
google avatar

Allan K.

Yelp
Your classic flea market type vendor, always want your money and more. I wanted to try some fresh shucked oysters and the other stands were closed and these guys wouldn't provide. They did offer some good oysters. They defintiely try to slide in some fees. Guy said he would throw in a shucking knife since I was out of town. Yea right, was getting charged when rung up. Told them to take the knife away, I'll use a fork. But I don't blame them, it's all about the money.

Yelp
Thieves! $650 for 4 lbs salmon, 2 lobster tails, 5 crab legs and 1/2 pound halibut cheeks

Yelp
Ordered fish from here online. Got here smelling rancid and not on ice. Called them and talked to. The manager Neil and he was extremely rude and even laughed at me. Never buying from here again

Yelp
Very disappointed in the fact that this company has been going downhill since we first started purchasing fresh salmon from them over 10 years ago. Won't be patronizing them again.

Yelp
Tried 2 versions of their smoked fish and was just blown away! On our food tour, we were allowed to sample the Alderwood smoked salmon which was meaty and absolutely imbued with smoke flavor. It can certainly be a little intense at first bite, but it really grows on you. Plus, the hot smoke process makes it flakier than traditional cold smoked salmon. While this was really good, our tour guide said that what we should really try is the smoked salmon belly jerky. Now, I've had salmon jerky before but the version I had was dried to almost a leathery state and really not that enjoyable. The version at Pure Food Fish Market is salmon belly that is cut into long meaty strips, cured, then cold smoked. It has a texture that was a hair bit drier than lox but still full of the same tender meatiness. It's salted just right in my opinion and also full of that same smokiness as the hot smoked salmon. We couldn't bare to wait and started snacking on it as soon as we bought it! As we walked around Pike ripping pieces off, it did seem a bit oily which was a minor downside but we didn't experience that as much on the pieces we flew back home. Maybe it had a little more time to dry out? It does lose it's smokiness over time though. I'm looking at it online now...$90 for 2 lbs is nothing to sneeze at but I am definitely considering it...

Yelp
Flying up from LA - purchasing seafood isn't the sort of thing I come here to do. It's interesting to walk by and see but I couldn't careless about trying to purchase and ship home. No thanks, don't have time to deal with anything of the sort and I'm just not into seafood at that level. However this trip, the Jumbo Shrimp caught my eye. I purchased a little less than half a dozen to sort of take around town as a snack ;) accompanied with some cocktail sauce I was good to go. Really great idea, when we were stuck in a pretty lengthy wait for some Clam Chowder. Little did I know I'd end up wasting about half :( I really wish I would have just over done it and eaten them all, not tried to save any for later. Don't do that with seafood friends! I thought I would but later tossed what was left instead of putting myself or anyone else through what may have occurred had I eaten them after not being refrigerated for 12 hours. If I lived local, this would probably be a nice spot to occasionally pick up some Chilean Sea Bass from and the scallops looked incredible too. Everything looks great! Just not the sort of thing this here visitor is trying to ship home.

Yelp
My hubby made sure we stopped here to get his favorite smoked salmon kipper. He spoke about this place for years, so happy to finally stop and take some with us. The crew is polite and made sure we knew that they can ship yummy salmon to us. We loved it here and now we will always purchase our fish from here. Fresh and organic #yummy

Yelp
Super fresh fish and were knowledgeable on the different types of salmon. They also didn't try to oversell the more expensive salmon. We bought salmon and halibut and you can tell when you cook it how fresh it was. I wish we could have bought some scallops. They looked amazing and were three times bigger than what we normally get at the grocery store. You can tell they work hard to keep their tight space clean and makes you feel good to buy their fish.

Yelp
I bought two snapper and asked them to steak them. A total of 5lb fish came down to 3lb after cleaning, I have no idea what they did there. Finally, we I came back home and opened the packet the fish looked completely hammered. I am not sure what equipment they used to cut those fishes. Some more than 2 inches some less than 0.25 inches, and all the pieces were uneven in width. All the fish pieces looked like somebody nibbled at them. At I would expected to show some respect two those fishes. Never going there again.

Yelp
I knew Pure Food had been a titan in the market for a while. Being a Seattle native, I thought I had seen all there was to see about fish. But I was wrong! Not only was I blown away by their selection (their smoked salmon is AMAZING), but I was equally impressed with their customer service. Zac was a delight to work with, and his buddy Willy was just as fun as well. I will definitely be returning to see this lively bunch. All of the people who have negative things to say need to learn to live a little!

Yelp
This place was a very cool sight in terms of seeing the huge whole salmon and giant lobster tails and big scallops without any sort of fishy smell. They offered smoke salmon samples which were very generous in terms of size. The smoke salmon is very large chunks of salmon, not like the thin cut kinda you get at Delis. The salmon was delicious and reasonable priced. We also got the smoked scallops which were smaller than the scallops which were pictured (possibly because they are cooked) but had a great smoky taste

Yelp
As good as the food is the best in market the attitude of the new or younger employees. They are un mannered I brought up three old employees who retired I heard them making jokes behind my back.Sorry I've known the family over 30 years my mum had a place in the market my family bought from them for over 20 years I knew the original family and workers the current crew is cocky Young and rude. They joked about me knowing Richard and of the few ordinal employees they laughed made jokes were I could here them. I walked out was planning on buying seafood cause best in the market the old family prided self on that. This person said there 20 years acted like a king bull making jokes in front of me about past employees and was rude arrogant if this historic establishment want to treat customers around before they were born they need to re think and group and trust me I'll be multi posting g everywhere...I was truly discussed they said things while I was right there. Clearly the owners are not around they took care of my family over 30 year's as great as the seafood the bring in and best smoked salmon I will never return and I will be posting everywhere!

Yelp
Wish I had read the reviews on Yelp before I purchased seafood (razor clams) from this business. The image on their site is for vacuum-sealed clams from the Quinalt Nation. My first online order of razor clams arrived intact and were very good. I placed a second order for clams about a year later. The image for Quinalt Nation clams was still on their website, so I expected that's what I would receive. What arrived was unmarked packages of clams in loose plastic that were pretty much thawed out. I opened one package and was surprised to find only two humongous razor clams. Each clam was over a foot long and about an inch thick! I decided to cook them. I used a meat hammer on them for about 10 minutes to tenderize. I thought, these are either going be the best razor clams I've ever had or they are going to be as tough as rubber. Yep, tough as rubber and frankly pretty tasteless. For those of you who are fans of razor clams, you probably know they are increasingly hard to find. Not sure if they are just not as popular anymore or if harvesting them has become unsustainable. I have one Quinalt Nation razor clam package left in my freezer. I am going to save it for a special occasion and just accept that it will probably be the last time I will be eating razor clams. So sad.

Yelp
Bought a king salmon and uni, and did the overnight Fedex to send as a gift to my family. The staff was super helpful and friendly, and making the arrangements was easy. The package arrived on time as described, and my family was beyond thrilled! Both items arrived extremely fresh, with plenty of ice packs and packaging. I was really happy with this purchase and will definitely be visiting again if I ever need to ship a gift!
