The Best Holiday Bar and Restaurant Pop-Ups and Events in Seattle

"For the season, this spot has transformed into Santa’s Detour. Enjoy spirited cocktails, including a Yippee-Ki-Yay Mother Fluffer (mezcal and toasted marshmallow syrup), Someone Special (a gin or vodka martini with rosemary-infused vermouth), mulled wine, and more — plus bites." - Courtney E. Where To Have A Lunch Meeting Downtown

"You emailed everybody coming to lunch to ask if anyone wanted to eat anything in particular. Since nobody responded, you should probably book a table at Purple. The menu is diverse and will please anybody - they have French dip sandwiches, Moroccan chicken bowls, pasta, and pizza. The wine bar’s space is big and impressive, down to the massive staircase spiraling around shelves of wine bottles. Buy a bottle or two if you’re celebrating something like an acquisition, or your least-favorite employee quitting." - aimee rizzo

Purple Café & Wine Bar Review - Downtown - Seattle - The Infatuation

"If you’re into wine, walking inside Purple is not much different from that scene in Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory when our heroes enter the factory for the first time and look around in awe. But instead of a molten chocolate waterfall, there’s a spiral staircase wrapped around a floor-to-ceiling bookcase full of bottles. It’s the most famous place of its kind in the city, and while there’s a chance you’ll get matched with the occasional unhelpful bartender, it lives up to the hype when it comes to your sheer number of options. You want something from Austria? You got it. A flight of obscure reds that’s literally titled, “You’ve Probably Never Had One Of These”? It’s yours. Orange wine? Yeah, sure. Add some meats and cheeses for good measure." - Aimee Rizzo

Google
Purple Cafe never disappoints. Each time I’ve been to a Purple Cafe location it’s been fun. My favorite location is the Seattle location. We enjoyed the food and wine. The wine list (book) is immense! However our server was able to explain it and if you have questions about a certain wine they have a sommelier to help and answer questions. With his help we opted for a Bordeaux. The Gorgonzola dates were so good we ordered another plate.

I booked a table for 8 this weekend for my best friend’s surprise birthday celebration. We were excited to go there because it had been on my best friend’s wife’s restaurant list for years. Too bad the food was pretty average (especially for the $$$) and service was lackluster. Suffice to say, celebration was ruined and we won’t ever be back again. Let me tell you why: 1) the baguette appetizer was overcooked (how do you mess this up?) 2) the short rib pappardelle ($37) barely had any meat 3) our server suggested several food and wine pairings, which we got. But we received our food 15-20 min before the wine arrived. Food/wine pairing should be served at the same time. When we flagged this to our server, and he was super sassy about it (“it’s coming”) and didn’t even apologize for the delay. 4) for a nice/upscale-ish place like this, you’d expect top service. We were there for about two hours and not once did our server nor anyone else came by to check on us. We had to ask other staff for drinks when ours were empty for a long time and they were sassy about it, too, and we had to flag our waiter to bring us the dessert menu and boxes since he never came back to check on us at any point in time. 5) when I booked the reservation, I asked if they could bring out some dessert with a candle for my friend’s birthday. I reconfirmed with the hostess upon arrival but it never came. 6) The hostess asked us which 8-person table we wanted and we told her the one away from the window since it was a SURPRISE birthday dinner, but she then proceeded to put us at the one near the window anyway. 7) when we left, we were locked in the resto because someone had locked the doors from the outside. One of the servers eventually found a way to open doors but was super rude about it. I almost never leave bad reviews but last night’s experience really left a bad taste in my mouth.

Google
It's a fun vibe!! Huge wine 🍷 Bible!! Really cool wine staircase! Brie was good, a bit overwhelmed by the crust. Spare rib pasta had a delicious sauce & tomatoes. The service was good! Brought the tiramisu home & expected a little more flavor. It was just ok. Looks better than it tasted.

Google
The shrimp with fries 10 out of 10! Would definitely get again. The sauce is chefs kiss. The dates were lack luster for me though. Be caution of tipping with their machines as they tip on the total after tax and after Seattle fees.

Google
This restaurant offers one of the best atmospheres and aesthetics, highlighted by a stunning tall wine rack with stairs. The food matched the ambiance in quality—the spicy prawn appetizer was packed with flavor and served with fries, though we wished it had come with bread instead. The combination of fries and buttery garlic made the dish quite heavy. The prawn mafaldine pasta was rich and flavorful, with generous portions, and the falafel burger did not disappoint. A great spot for both ambiance and great food!

Google
Purple Cafe and Wine Bar, Seattle Purple Cafe and Wine Bar stands out as a downtown Seattle staple, known for its dramatic spiral wine tower, chic ambiance, and a wine list that’s nothing short of encyclopedic. My recent visit confirmed why this spot remains a favorite for locals and visitors. From the moment you walk in, the service is polished and attentive. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about helping you navigate the extensive wine selection—hundreds of bottles from all over the world, including unique finds like Slovenian wines. The setting is elegant yet welcoming, with soaring ceilings and a centerpiece wine tower that sets the mood for a memorable The meal began with excellent hot bread, served fresh and crusty—simple, but executed perfectly and a great start to the evening. The kitchen’s attention to detail is evident even in these small touches. The Shrimp Frites was a standout dish. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, and the sauce they were served in was vibrant and packed with flavor, elevating a classic comfort dish into something special. The portion was generous, and the flavors balanced beautifully. Purple’s wine program is a true highlight. The “book of wine” offers hundreds of selections, with staff ready to recommend pairings for any dish or palate. Whether you’re a casual wine drinker or a serious oenophile, you’ll find something to excite you—my Slovenian red was excellent: Purple Cafe and Wine Bar delivers on all fronts: great service, memorable food, and a wine list that’s second to none in Seattle. It’s ideal for a date night, a special celebration, or simply indulging in great food and wine downtown. Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends, as this spot is popular for good reason. - Attentive, knowledgeable service - Excellent hot bread - Flavorful, well-executed dishes (the Shrimp Frites is a must-try) - An extraordinary wine selection, including rare bottles from around the globe Purple Cafe remains a top choice for anyone seeking a sophisticated yet approachable wine and dining experience in Seattle.

Google
Excellent wines under 70 and then 150. Everything was on the lighter side of every category. Ex: light Cab Franc, Light Syrah…. Normal popular wine bar wines. Was looking for high tannic wines but very disappointed, and all very young. No older selections even by bottle. Very cool concept of creating duo tasting menu of 2 -3oz pours instead of normal 3 flight. Then each wine is available by the glass. Bottles cap at about 149.00. So can get the best bottles they have for same price as cheapest bottle across the street at Capital Grille haha. The spicy prawn (shrimp) frites is to die for.. get a spoon to drink it all. The oysters are Ok for Seattle, the clam chowder can push away was worst in the city. We finished the night with the Steak Frites. The steak was a little on the chewy side but ok. Definitely needed more chimichuri or whatever herbs topped it off with. All flavors are on the light side for what i am used to - on par with Seattle. If you have a little budget go for bottle of Bordeaux or Italian bid reds.

Google
Food was great. Our server was looking after a large group of around 16 and this detracted from our service. Food was good, but spoilt by poor service.

Yelp
We stopped by Purple Café for dinner during our vacation, and it was a fantastic experience. The interior is beautiful, with an inviting atmosphere. Their wine selection is incredible, offering a massive 25+ page wine book! The staff was friendly and went out of their way to help us choose the perfect wines to pair with our meal. As for the food, it was amazing. We ordered the squid ink linguine and fried chicken Romano; both dishes were absolutely delicious and exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend this spot for anyone visiting Seattle who enjoys great food and a phenomenal wine list.

Yelp
I visited with a friend on Saturday evening around 9pm with a reservation we'd made earlier that same day. The restaurant has a beautiful wine-focused aesthetic, perfect for a date, birthday, or upscale friend dinner. Unfortunately, our service was extremely slow and our waiter seemed to continually bypass us and was not super personable. After I didn't know what I wanted to drink when he'd come to take our order, it took him about 15 minutes to return to take my drink order. When my friend's drink arrived, she'd asked for more limes to complement her drink and our waiter just straight up never brought them. She ended up going to the bar to get them herself and even then, we noticed they were a bit old/dry. The table next to us arrived about 30 mins after us and got their appetizers and entrees at the same time as we did, with notably more attentive service. The bright spot of our experience, however, was the food. To start, we shared the Cranberry Chicken salad which was light and delicious, though we were a little surprised there was no lettuce. This was fine for an appetizer but might've felt differently if this was either of our meal. For entrees, I had the grilled lamb chops which were seasoned and cooked beautifully and my friend loved her order of the braised short rib pasta. Though the inattentive service initially rubbed us the wrong way, I'd visit again for the food and hope service might be better.

Yelp
Great "wine book" with creative duet tastings that compare new- and old-world versions of a varietal. A fun way to develop your palate. Clam pasta and the cauliflower entrees had amazing complex flavors and pleasant heat. Baked Brie appetizer was perfect to share and beautifully presented. Ambiance was upscale and the space was easily able to accommodate small and large groups.
google avatar

Yelp
Ambiance of the restaurant was really nice and the wine ofc was amazing! We went with what recommended as a pairing for the grilled brie appetizer we ordered. Got the grilled brie and dates for apps and those were 10/10, the main dishes weren't as stellar i would say the pork chop and salmon were average but the manila clams was great! the pastas seem to be the way to go

Yelp
Stopped in for dinner on a Friday night. It wasn't as crowded as expected for a Friday so we were seated immediately. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable, able to answer all our questions about the menu and wine selection. The food was delicious! We also tried a few desserts. I recommend the apple crumble. Great restaurant option with a solid variety menu. I loved all the twinkle lights for the holiday season!

Yelp
It was a Saturday night and we soon found out to get a table at Purple Cafe you need a reservation. We were told seating was available at the bar, so took that option. Our outing was expensive! I love the purple cafe vibe and ambiance. Our bar waiter was a nice man, but his service was mediocre, not very attentive. Definitely saw the difference in service when a regular took a seat at the bar. We had an appetizer, 2 glasses of wine, I ordered a salad and my spouse had a vegan burger. The food was not stand-out but as I said like the vibe and ambience. Worth a visit.

Yelp
The food was AMAZING. Dungeness crab cakes are a MUST. We've had a lot of crab cakes over the years and these were the best we've had so far. The Baked Brie was gooey & delicious. Perfect size for two, Their wine list is a leather bound book. Just tell them what type of wine you like and your price point. We went with a Pinot noir from France which was light, smooth and on the dry side which we enjoyed. Definitely recommend this spot.

Yelp
We came to celebrate my birthday while visiting Seattle and it was a nice change. I don't know how to describe it, but the decor didn't give off what one would think of a typical Seattle vibe, but rather a romantic gothic one with dark metal and high ceilings. We were seated right away and the food was amazing. We had the Dungeness crab pasta, the squid ink pasta, and the burger with fries. I really like the crab pasta; it was rich with generous lumps of crab. The squid ink pasta was good, I thought the shrimp perfect but didn't realize the arrabbiata sauce had a smoky flavor to it. The star of the night was the creme brulee. The custard was perfect- not overcooked, with a rich vanilla flavor. Cracking the caramelized sugar on top was the best! This made my birthday weekend!

Yelp
CAME OUT HERE FOR LUNCH. They ain't recognize royalty when it came through the door but that's alright yall. They kept it all trill and the tea pops off. Will keep coming back until they tell me to stop. 5 stars.

Yelp
Incredible spot. Right from the get go it's a thrilling experience for dinner. The outdoor greets you with a purple sign showing through the tree leaves and an impressive gigantic industrial-ish door. Get inside and right away you do notice the famous tower of wine as well as that this place is hopping! Every member of the front staff is fantastic - professional, friendly, over the top service. Love love love the interior with the high ceiling and twinkling lights on the back wall. For sure a great "night out" spot. Starters and dinner were both delicious and prepared with creativity and care. For myself, I had the lamb chops - and can easily say it was the best lamb I've had for over a decade (I mean this. I can count on one hand the amazing lamb dishes so I remember the last one very distinctly!). My only letdown was the desserts which seemed like a bit of a throwaway compared to the other courses. I would say they are not the focus nor the show stoppers. Being a night out spot, I think the focus is apps and entrees. When the dessert came I immed thought they looked like they were in microwave containers so presentation not so great. Esp when compared to the mind blowing experience of everything that came prior. Highly recommend for a special night or any night - if you can afford it.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant and bar - lovely ambiance and vibe. Perfect for celebrations and date nights! The servers are very helpful in recommending drinks and food. While it is a wine bar, they have a good cocktail menu as well - refreshing and delicious. Food is exquisite. The appetizers have something unique about them - beetroot poke was a big surprise and almost looked and tasted like Tuna but so delicious and such a good option for vegetarians. The pesto pasta is delicious and freshly prepared with rich flavour of pesto. Topped it all off with peach sorbet and chocolate. Definitely a must visit.

Yelp
Purple has the best decor for wow-factor and impact! This spiral staircase into the heavens is amazing and hosts the widest selections of wines and great cuisine to accompany it - I have been going here for a decade and I will never pass up their seasonal Wine Flights and pairing them with either a flatbread or Brussel Sprouts. This space is great for large parties as the sound of this space is lively and fun urban loudness of wine lovers!

Yelp
We stopped by for a quick mid-afternoon drink during our vacation the weekend of 9/21/24. We picked this spot because I like wine . We were a little intimidated because it looked pretty fancy and we worried we were under-dressed (we probably were - I was in a blouse w shorts and my fiance was in a t-shirt and joggers) but nobody looked at us weird and other people were dressed pretty casual. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The bartender was kind and attentive. I had a wine duo (which is like 1/2 a flight) and my fiance had a cocktail. We were happy with the experience. Also - For wine enthusiasts - their bottle list is a booklet about as thick as a novel. I was impressed as I've not seen anything like it. P.S. The cocktails were a little pricey ($18 cocktail) but I expected this as it looked like a higher-end spot in the middle of Downtown.
google avatar

Brion C.

Yelp
A huge big airy restaurant with a nice big round bar sitting right in the middle. A great place to meet friends for lunch or happy hour in a great downtown location. A great wine list too with lots of sandwiches and bar food options.

Yelp
We were in town for meetings and a convention and enjoyed Purple so much we ate here twice! The book of wine is amazing and I loved the option of "duos", which are two half glasses, and give the opportunity to try two paired wines. We had an assortment of starters at both visits and all were excellent but the baked brie and stuffed dates were the ones we ordered twice. The Dungeness crab pasta was delicious! The ricotta and crab went together nicely. The short rib pasta was delicious as well, but definitely a richer, heavier dish than the crab pasta. Desserts were good; we enjoyed the creme brûlée. Service was excellent and the servers knew the menu and wine list well. The atmosphere is modern and industrial with an impressive wine tower in the middle of the dining room. Definitely would come back on a future visit!

Yelp
I had just arrived in Seattle and joined a couple teammates for dinner. They suggested Purple! For some reason I thought it was going to be Modern, Contemporary American cuisine however it was more Italian. Aside from the food not being Modern American, the restaurant is very Modern and elegant! Heavy steel doors upon entry, dim lighting, modern tables and a very nice spherical bar. As for the food, it was marginal at best! I ordered the Short Rib Pappardelle and it was very bland tasting. I did enjoy the Burst of flavor with the cherry tomato but I wasn't impressed overall. The Spicy Prawns were delicious and a large serving! I also ordered a Witch Hazel which packed the right punch! I'd visit again but I'd definitely order a cocktail and an appetizer!

Yelp
A few steps away on my fiancé birthday, we knew that purple would be the perfect place to celebrate. We are not big wine, drinkers, but love the atmosphere and large pain glass to bring in the natural daylight of this place. Up until our visit we've only been to one located in Woodinville. But we've never had the opportunity to have a sitdown dinner like this time. We both ordered a couple of cocktails , two of the cocktails were absolutely delicious and I would highly recommend. For appetizer, we shared the sautéed calamari which is a dish that we for sure will keep coming back because it is so flavorful and who could say no to garlic toasted sourdough bread!? For dinner we both each had separate entrées; I chose the short rib pappardelle pasta and the birthday boy chose the seared black cod. To be honest, his selection was very delicious and I would eat that dish every night. I found the pasta to be a bit seasoned, but other flavors pulled through from the short rib. First birthday dessert, we chose a chocolate dessert and lit with a little candle. Thanks to our server. The service was great, although a bit slow since it was busy, but not an issue for us as we absorb our time in this beautiful place together. I highly recommend if you are reading this review that you should come visit purple for a lunch or dinner date. it is also a great place for large groups so a company luncheon or happy hour would be very suitable.

Yelp
Solo dined here with a little bit of regret. Place was cool with the circular wine structure and was spacious with high ceilings. When I arrived, there were a few diners seated at the bar and ~5 tables. It took 15 mins for them to take my order - fine. I have a soft spot for squid ink pasta and will always order that when I see it on the menu. A bit disappointed it didn't have a medley of seafood, just shrimp, sausage and an abundance of sauce - fine. Ordered a mocktail and it was on the smaller side with quite a bit of ice - ok. When it came to the check, I was struggling to flag down my server for 10 mins and ended up having a lady bring it to me - whatever. The suggested tip is 22% and min is 20% with options for custom but really, my experience was truly not even worth 15%. Parking is non existent so you also have to factor in another $11 for parking (and that's if you don't dally). I was hoping for a good experience so that I can book this for an upcoming client HH/dinner but I'll pass.
google avatar

Adela R.

Yelp
The wine here was great, staff had good knowledge of the options on the menu. I really liked that they offered a pairing of two half glasses that were comparable wines you can taste side by side. The food was ok. The fries I got with my burger were definitely not fresh which is why can't give 5 stars. Would go back but primarily for the wine tasting.
google avatar

Fionna L.

Yelp
We arrived at 5:30pm on a Friday night and the wait was 30 minutes for 2 at the bar, so go early and definitely make a reservation if you want a table during peak hours! The ambiance was superb, with its glorious spiral library of wines. It was a full house but all parties were reasonably spaced apart so it wasn't cramped, and the ceiling was high and airy so it wasn't too loud. This is a very nice place to dress up and would be perfect whether you're dining alone, with friends, on a date or for a work party. The reason for the 3 stars is the utter lack of customer service at the bar. Apart from taking our order at the start, we had virtually no interactions with the staff and had to ask twice for the check. Your experience might be different if you sit at a table. We also asked what was on the $32 cheese & meat board when it arrived, and the waitress tried but didn't know most of the food she gave to us. This speaks not to her, but to the quality of service. The cheese & meat board was nice, with 2 cheeses, 2 meats, sugar-crusted crackers, pickled vegetables, jam, mustard, spicy pepitas and surprisingly no Marcona almonds. The wine, despite the ubiquitous alcohol markup, was delicious; we enjoyed the Malbec duo and a tasty sherry that tasted strongly of fig. I wish their flourless chocolate cake could come back on the menu! This was altogether a good food experience, and I'll hope for more from the service next time.

Yelp
Love this restaurant, the food, the spiral wine bookshelf, everything! Except it's a little dark. Actually, it's really dark, and I had to embarrassingly use my phone flashlight to see the menu LOL I ordered the octopus, which was almost too much on the chewy side. My boyfriend got the wild mushroom ragu, which he loved. Great, intimate date night spot. There's candles at every table so it creates a very romantic atmosphere, I just wish they'd turn on more lights LOL
google avatar

DeShawna B.

Yelp
This place is spectacular! The doors are so nice and just sets the tone. The inside is very sleek and sophisticated. The stair case by the bar is so nice and again just adds to the atmosphere. It is a very nice spot for brunch or date night. I went here for a day date and it was perfect. The drinks were good i love wine it's a wine bar and cafe. The service was great. My date asked for a complicated drink. The bar tender was not able to make the exact drink but he did try and for that it was okay and my date still enjoyed his drink. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a great time!

Yelp
Purple cafe is an amazing restaurant. Their wine selection is incredible. The waiters are very knowledgeable and happy to give recommendations. I'd definitely come here for a date, or a small group. Make a reservation in advance as it can get busy. The baked Brie is really good as well!

Yelp
Came here for a business meeting with a large group. The place is beautifully decorated. The food and cocktails were fantastic. Definitely a wine place if you are a wine person. Their wine book is very extensive.

Yelp
Such a cute wine bar we found! We were a little confused thinking it was in the hotel but it's right on a corner (pretty huge actually!). We sat at the bar and I ordered a salad and my fiancé got a sandwich. There were quite a few gnats that were hanging around when we ate, which was a little annoying, but overall it was a good eating experience. Our servers were more than pleasant and super knowledgeable. They do this amazing thing called 'Duo' where you can try two of the same varietals but from different regions (domestic & foreign). This gives the taster a true chance to compare the wines. I opted for a Syrah (Washington vs. Cotes du Rhone) and I actually preferred the wine from Washington. It was medium-bodied, versatile, and delivered flavors of black raspberry. The wine was so delicious I texted a pic of it to a girlfriend. This is a place I will definitely go back to, but probably sit at a table for a better eating experience.
google avatar

Nicole D.

Yelp
The food, service and ambiance of the Purple Cafe and Wine Bar is incomparable to any other restaurant. The food tasted so fresh with exceptional ingredients, and the wine duos were fun in trying various flavors. Something that sets this place apart is the top notch service provided. The level of friendliness and care that our server Adrienne provided was something we will never forget. Now we want to come back and try everything on the menu! Highly recommend

Michaela W.

Yelp
Food was amazing and when the crabcakes hit the table they were devoured sorry for no pictures! We got the Chicken Romano $32 and NY Steak $65 paired our meal with the drinks recommended. Meals were worth the price point imo. Chicken was tender and flavorful while the pasta and broccolini were great pairing. Steak was a perfect medium. We visited due to my coworkers recommendation when they came to downtown Seattle. Service was normal and the overall aura of the restaurant was perfect for our night of celebration; romantic and refined. We tried to let our waiter know the occasion but the night got MUCH busier than when we first arrived. Overall great experience and worth the try if you're down to spend a little more on dinner.

Yelp
Fun environment, casual overall. Decent wine and snacks. Try the Gorgonzola Stuffed Dates for a deliciously sweet start to your meal! Service was efficient and overall thoughtful. Generous pours of wine. Would visit again!

Yelp
On our way to the 5th Ave Theater, my fiancee and I stopped by the Purple Cafe and Wine Bar. Located in the heart of Seattle, this small and cozy restaurant was full of wonderful food options. The servers were full of smiles and very attentive. She ordered the Dates, which I'm typically not a fan of , yet I think I ate more than my share. Guess I might like Dates now! I ordered the Miso burger. Mainly because I'm uneducated on what the rest of the menu was. I recognized "burger and fries". Honestly, a little disappointed in the temperature. Fries were lukewarm but perfectly seasoned. Wasn't a fan of the lettuce on the burger but that's just my taste buds. The Dates took awhile after ordering and the manager did apologize stating that it typically doesn't take that long. Thankfully, that was taken off our bill.

Jazmin R.

Yelp
Great ambience. Servers were quite knowledgeable and recommendations on food pairing on point.

Yelp
Found this place as we were walking to Target, and I'm glad we decided to eat here. First off, it had one of the coolest bars I've ever seen! It was a circular stairwell. Very cool vibe with a romantic atmosphere. A definite must try. The service was top notch, and the food was delicious! What impressed me the most was how the offered wine pairings with all of their dishes. We went with the suggestions, which did not disappoint. For appetizers, we tried spicy prawns. They were incredible! The sauce packed just the right amount of heat, and it came with bread, which was a pleasant surprise. The shrimp were flavorful and tender. The bread with the sauce was so good! My main dish was the short rib paparadelle. The pasta was cooked perfectly, and the dish was so good! I ordered bread to go with the main course, which was a good call. The bread came with roasted garlic and duck fat butter. The garlic on the crispy bread dipped in the sauce from the pasta... the perfect blend of flavors. I'm so happy we passed by this and made the decision to try it out the next day. It was a great meal in a beautiful restaurant. Definitely on my list of places to eat when I visit Seattle again.

I kept walking past this place around dinner time. The big windows allows you to look inside and see the seemingly bustling restaurant. I made it a priority to stop in because the name was cute and it seemed like a good vibe. When I went during lunch there were only a few people inside, strategically seated near the windows to give off the crowded vibe. GLOWS: -The space is very large. They have an upstairs area and a spacious main dining area. -The service was efficient and friendly GROWS: -The food was just okay. It was quite expensive, and what I got was not worth it to me for a lunch outing. -

Yelp
We chose to walk 10 minutes from the convention center to grab lunch, and it wasn't crowded at all despite the huge convention happening! This is the perfect date or group dining spot. I loved coming here for lunch because the windows give great natural light and it was calming to eat, sip, and people-watch in the middle of the city. Vibes are A+. The food was AMAZING. I've never had a better chicken salad than their Cranberry Chicken Salad. The Fusilli Alla Vodka pasta was refreshing and a perfect portion. Can't go wrong with the mimosas, which I get every time in the Woodinville location. I can't wait to come back and try more food! The only critique I have is that their bathrooms were super dark and I couldn't see well. It'd be nice to have more lighting in there.

Yelp
Good food. Great service. Neat atmosphere. We aren't drinkers but the wine tower was impressive and they have a Book of Wine. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
Came here upon finding this place on yelp. Soon to realize that purple cafe was actually named after the pillow store "purple". Didn't click until after I left Seattle. Ambiance wise was the #1 reason of me choosing this place. How could you not want to check out a bar filled with wine displayed on a circular tower? Never seen anything like it before. Speaking of wine, I did try this white wine that was recommended by a lady next to me. It became my new favorite white wine! Had a glass and thought it was enough, closed my tab. But overall would come here again and order food maybe?

Yelp
This place was a great spot for dinner during a recent trip to Seattle. I loved all the wine options and thought the option to order "duos" was really fun. I had the braised short rib and it was so savory and hearty--it really hit the spot. Our server was very attentive and I liked the ambiance of the space. Overall a cozy meal with atmosphere.

Yelp
I was here for a conference event! So I didn't try any food but the wine selection was great. Our sommelier was amazing, I think her name was Jenn (I can't remember) but she was amazing!!! I enjoyed learning the history about the various wines, I could tell she was passionate about her job and truly enjoyed sharing her knowledge with others. The restaurant was nice we were at the top area so we overlooked the entire space. I would I love to go back and dine there if the opportunity presents itself.

Yelp
This place was empty on a Saturday, which seems odd. After my visit it may have made sense. We loved the one in Woodinville when we used to frequent it weekly, but this one in Seattle was underwhelming at best. I guess I could chock it up to a young and unexperienced server, but she delivered my husbands clam linguine and about 10 mins later, I had to ask what the deal was with my grilled cheese and tomato soup. She forgot, literally did not put the order in. She got "confused". How? It was the only thing I ordered. The linguine was mostly noodles and a bitter green (mustard greens) and had a whopping 7 clams total in it. My husband couldn't finish it. It was bitter and off-putting. This location is beautiful, the wine selection was good. It is sad that a cheese board is not as easily attainable. Charged per cheese and meats added were extra cost. After seeing the size of the portions, the cost was just not worth it. Disappointment was the word upon leaving. I won't be recommending this place to anyone I know. I really wish I had better things to say about my experience.

Yelp
That was my first time at Purple, we went for my birthday. The server was wonderful, very kind and attentive. The setup of the restaurant was great, beautiful staircase with various wines in the center, heavy iron chairs, and a clean restroom. To start off we ordered crab cakes; they were wonderful. They were also a bit expensive, over $30 for two crab cakes. For dinner I ordered a spicy shrimp pasta, it was exactly what I was craving. This was paired with their suggested white wine - perfectly complimenting my dish. My partner ordered a beef dish paired with a red wine. He enjoyed the wine, not the dish. Shortly after finishing the meal he started to feel sick, his stomach was off for a full day after dinner. They came out with a complimentary dessert, it was lovely, but there was mango on top (I'm allergic to mango). They didn't ask about allergies. I would have probably given this place a full five star rating if my partner didn't get sick from his dish.

Yelp
One of my fav spots for a night out! I've been here 4 or 5 times and each time it's better than the other. Everything on the menu is great. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful! The wine list is out of this world! Not even a big drinker but they recommended something I loved each time. It's a beautiful place! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Made a reservation here for drinks our first night in Seattle. We were sat right away and the staff were very friendly. I loved all the candle lights and the overall ambiance of the spot. They have a big drinks menu and even have nonalcoholic options. We didn't get much food beside tiramisu and drinks and we enjoyed having a nice night cap here.

Yelp
We had just wrapped up a business trip conference and now we were starting the vacation leg of our west coast trip. It was mid-day and wine bar and restaurant was packed, with a combination of professionals doing a work lunch and folks on vacation like us. We sat at the bar that wraps around a spiral shaped wine rack that reaches the ceiling. The bottom line is they have a superior wine selection and a knowledgeable staff, which was key because we don't know Washington State wines that well. Food wise I recommend the Columbia River king salmon. Perfectly flaky fish with a crispy skin and an awesome mustard creama. Great flavors and just enough size to soak up some wine without over filling you up. Service was excellent. Prices what you would expect for both the quality and the city location. Reservations can be made via Open Table.

Yelp
Food was good. Environment was nice. I was expecting something more upscale. The hostess wore hiking boots, cargo pants and a stained sweater. The waiter was obviously new and out his element with no help. He did not know the menu. But that is okay. We were a party of four. Dinners came out a long time apart. The two meals were cold by the time the second two dinners came out. I had to get up and look for waiter multiple times to ask drinks, food and water. I just walked back to the station and asked for him. He never came to ask, I had to look for him. Over all the experience was poor due to the staff. So we ate and left and found a better location to have cocktails.

Yelp
We had a wonderful experience. Ambiance and service are 5/5. The food was fresh and incredible. We ordered the Dungeness crab which was too lemony for our taste so I would give that a 4/5 but the Brie and the purple chopped salad were amazing. The Brie was our favorite.

Yelp
Food: - Spicy prawns: got this to start and it was super delicious. The best part was the broth that you dip the toasted bread in. Spicy but somehow creamy and/or buttery. Reminds me of Killer Shrimp in Los Angeles. (Five stars) - bistro burger: decent burger, decent fries. Nothing special but good. (Four stars) - Fremont double IPA: really good. Tasty, nothing off or offensive, and packs a nice wallop. Service: Our server was a bit off. At first I thought he was the preliminary guy who fills water cuz he didn't ask for a drink order or anything. I had to eventually ask him to take our drink order. That theme continued throughout the night. I appreciated the space he gave us, but I think he took it to an extreme. He was super nice, but it just struck me a little strange. A lot of little delays.

Yelp
Ambiance is beautiful. Food was amazing! We literally ate everything. The kids thoroughly enjoyed their sliders & fruit bowl. The baked bree may be my favorite. I also had 2 of the Cucumber Cocktails, yummmy. Don't need to say much about staff, they were all amazing, the entire time.

Yelp
Went here tonight with a group. Service was quite slow. Drink refills required asking versus standard service. Crabcakes were OK. Nothing to write home about. spicy shrimp wasn't too bad not very spicy. They did have good unsweetened iced tea. Ambience is dark and loud. Main course I had was the "New York" steak. It definitely was not a New York strip steak. It came smothered with sauce, which is an immediate tell that they don't trust their steak. My first steak had so much gristle that I had to send it back; second steak had less but still way more than normal and certainly not what you would get at an average steak place for less than $65. The side dish was entirely brussels sprouts covered with cheese. No potatoes whatsoever. Bad combo for a dinner. Others at the table seemed to like the scallops. They also reported that the calamari was quite unremarkable. Ultimately, I would not recommend this place for groups and certainly not for steak. It again suffers from the standard Seattle uplift because people don't understand good service or good food in Seattle.

Yelp
Absolutely stellar experience! And our server was the cutest, loved his vibe and personality. Word of the day? Scrumdiddlyumptious!! I decided to take my co-habby here to celebrate his birthday and he was not disappointed. I made reservations a few weeks in advance since we are not local and wanted to avoid a long wait time. What originally drew me to this restaurant was the tower of wine on full display which was like a grand work of art. We kept seeing photos of this tower perusing Yelp reviews and photos and added it to our foodie list. Service: We were warmly welcomed and seated immediately with an awesome view of the wine staircase tower. Staff was very friendly throughout our entire experience so added bonus there. Not pretentious at all. The ambience is dark and romantic and they offer an elegant menu to match. From Lobster Mac, to Crab Cakes to Steak and Lamb, there is something for everyone. What we ordered: Baked Brie: delicious warm goey melted brie encased in puff pastry. This was heavenly and I actually tried to replicate this dish as soon as I returned home. Charcuterie Board: typical board with a variety of meats and cheeses...tasty! Spicy Prawns: large, perfectly cooked prawns in a garlic butter sauce with a bit of spice. We used the remaining charcuterie board bread to soak up this delicious sauce. Of course we couldn't leave without ordering a couple glasses of Malbec...our favorite. Everything about our evening was perfect. The only caveat is that you will probably have to take an Uber there if you are not staying in the downtown Seattle area as parking is limited. But that's to be expected. Can't wait to return to this fine establishment on our next trip to Seattle.
