Always great. Had our back to school annual outing. About 25 of us showed up and they took great care of us. Snow cones are always great. Super selection. Ice cream too.

First visit here! Cute little place on Water St with so many flavors for your snow cone. Loved the salted caramel brownie ice cream.

Been a customer for years. We were excited to cone downtown and get some dessert. But when we walked inside the store, we weren't greeted but we told by one of the staff: go outside and order There were other customers inside the store, they weren't told to leave. The girl at the outside window, seemed clueless. The scoops I received, were smaller than usual My wife's ice was not upto standard either. It was supposed to be light syrup, but syrup barely was on top 2 inches This is not the norm. I can only surmise that it's Saturday and the staff were trying to close and be able to walk out right at closing time. Sad thing is I wasn't the only one that noticed this drop in service but I spoke to at least 5 others, who all felt slighted as well. Not the icy reception I was hoping for at PP

My first visit to this place. I traveled from Vegas to Henderson to get shave ice. This is the perfect place to enjoy shave ice when the weather outside is around 110 degrees. It’s a small shop located at the entrance of downtown Henderson. It was easy to park the car and walk to the ice cream shop. Service was good. Two nice ladies were on duty when I stopped by. The choices for the syrups are great. You can try flavors you haven’t never tried before. They offer different sizes for the shave ice/ice cream. The display of ice cream offers at least 10 flavors. We were told this is the only location in Vegas and Henderson. I would love to find more locations. Nice experience all the way. .

Paid 21.00 dollars for snow cones which first of all is ridiculous. Then they were two different sizes when we ordered the same size and they had the audacity to not even put the cone on top of a snow cone. I’m sure the owners probably don’t care but why bother if you’re just gonna let people do whatever they want. Did not even bother to try to fix it.

Hands down the best Snowcone I have ever had. The super sour sauce sets it off! I’ve been a regular customer for 10 years and I have never had a bad snow cone. Purple penguin has good people, good variety and good prices. And when you don’t feel like a snow cone, their Blue Bell shakes are the best.

I've always been a big fan of Purple Penguin. The syrup that they use in their shaved ice is really, really good. They used to have little stores placed in gas stations before during summer time, and I've always made a point to stop and get my shave ice. Now they have their brick and mortar store, and it's located at Henderson at the Water Street district. It's a little ways of a drive for me, but it's worth it!!! I want to give a shout out to the friendly staff in this place for being warm and welcoming.

Only place in vegas that has shaved ice all the time! We had the Butter Beer and vanilla!! Not quite like Hawaii, but it satisfied my craving!

I've been going to the Purple Penguin since they had a trailer in parking lots around Las Vegas. It's one of my favorite places to get a shaved ice from. I had no idea they had a storefront and I stumbled upon it while attending the Arts Festival off Water Street in downtown Henderson. It's a small space and there is no seating available inside. There are some areas to sit at outside. The service is quick and friendly and all of the workers are upbeat and are happy to help. They have a pretty extensive menu and have some rotating specials. They also have ice cream if snow cones aren't your thing. The snow cones are full of flavor and they are generous with the syrup. They also offer a punch card if you frequent them. Purple Penguin is a great stop for a treat if you're on Water Street and is worth the drive if you aren't in the area.

Love love this place. I had a craving on a hot day and wanted a snow cone. Stumbled upon this place and pleasantly surprised by the option and taste. Almost just like being in Hawaii. It's definitely get busy inside. It's a simple place with a host of options. Not too big in the inside so the line develops quickly. Definitely coming back.

My daughter came here and she love this place that she wanted me to give it a try. I feel like a child!! I am so excited to pick my flavor and they do have so many choices.... The service is fast and the staff are very nice and friendly. The place is clean they do have to table each one with three chairs in case the customer wants to enjoy the treat indoors.

Came to purple penguin because there's really no other place in town that has vanilla snow ones with condensed milk! The staff were friendly and even offered us a stamp card for our 10th snowcone to be free. They were really fast although it was busier. We sat at the small seating area and enjoyed the refreshing snowcones. I will always continue to come back Time and time again and I recommend anyone coming to water street to stop by!

So good! Cute little spot love the pineapple dole soft serve. Super quick and not a bad wait time.

I was not a fan of shaved ice until I visited Purple Penguin! I'm used to establishments offering snow cones with large pieces of crushed ice that takes away from the flavoring. Purple Penguin however offered a very nicely shaved ice which was very easy and convenient to consume. I tried a combination of banana and cheesecake and it was so much better than expected. I'll definitely be visiting again. *please note, this is a walk-up establishment. There are a few seats outdoors as you wait for your snow cone.

My boyfriend and I love Purple Penguin's snow cones and we were very disappointed to learn that they decided to close their shacks, which could be found in various gas station parking lots. :( Thankfully, though, we just found out that they have their own little shop on Water Street, which is open all year long! Here, unlike their gas station shacks, they don't just sell snow cones, but they sell ice cream and dole whip as well. With the weather getting warmer, we decided to come here for a little treat after dinner. We walked inside and it was BOILING in there, like their AC wasn't functioning properly. Holy cow! I actually had to take my sweater off upon entering the building (it was around 72 outside but it felt like 95 inside). I ordered a large blue raspberry snow cone (which I order every time I come to Purple Penguin) and my boyfriend ordered a cherry vanilla ice cream in a pink sugar cone, which was PACKED with cherries. He had so many ice cream scoops that he asked the lady working behind the counter for a small cup. He was actually lucky to ask for one, because right when he said that, one of his scoops fell onto the counter haha. We sat outside because of how hot it was inside. They have two tables inside and one table outside as far as I know, with numerous benches all around. I also realized, after coming out with our snow cone and ice cream, they have a little walk-up window around the corner! My snow cone was spot on, as always, and my boyfriend, who's not really a sweet tooth kind of guy, said that his ice cream was delicious and probably one of the best ice cream flavors he's had. If we ever have an excuse to come to Water Street again, we'll be back at Purple Penguin!

I used to go to Snow Vegas on Tenaya for years but they've sold their business. I'm 38 weeks pregnant and this is the only craving I've had. The only thing I can stomach right now. Thankfully I found Purple Penguin and this location is very close to me. Seems like there's not many snow cone spots around anymore so I'm happy to have found a new favorite. Cherry with ice cream & extra cream. The 1st picture was the first time I came - this 2nd one, I wish I would've gotten her name but she definitely made this with love and I absolutely needed that today! Thank you.

Fun spot to grab a cold treat. A little spot with a couple of tables but it also has a walk up window. Lots of flavors to choose from and very friendly staff.

Super cute location for a purple penguin! What a classic staple to Henderson. Love the fact that you see families hanging out and enjoying their snow cones in the area and walking around. I love getting a small with ice cream & cram. Usually I'll opt for cherry, blue raspberry, and lemon lime. You can do one flavor or multiple. Back in the day they only had vanilla ice cream and now they have lots to choose from! Definitely a must try dessert if you're on water street. You won't be disappointed. :)

I loved the Purple Penguin snow cone stands that used to be everywhere! My boyfriend was so upset when most of the locations closed down. Thankfully we came across one that was still open so we had to check it out. This location on Water St. isnso cute, it's actually a suite instead of a shack but it has the ordering window on the side still. The quality is still great as I remember. We will definitely be coming back!

My boss brought me back a drink from Purple Penguin and it was delicious. I have only had their snow cones and of course those were a treat but this treat was different. It was a a snow come with pink lemon sour syrup on it and lurking beneath it all was vanilla soft-serve. I was a bit skeptical at first but it turned out to be amazing and perfect on the hot day we were having. It tasted just like a pink lemon creamsicle! Whatever combination of ice and ice cream you took meshed very well together. I will definitely be coming back here.

How can you not love shave ice! They have so many flavors to choose from and the staff here are always so friendly. Sometimes there is a wait, but it is a wait worth waiting for as our group says. They used to have locations around town in food truck trailers so it is nice to see they were able to get a permanent location in a historic part of old town Henderson which brings back so many memories. Love taking the grandkids here too! As I am typing this review, I can only imagine enjoying another sour apple, cherry, and lime shave ice! I see one in the near future!

Since price gouging started cups their cups got smaller. The small is now a medium. And now this week, the price is jumped up about a dollar. The small that is now called, medium went from $4 & change to $5 and change. And then they wanna a tip. I aint tipping none of these people no more. Go get a better job, that's my tip.

Can't beat the price and wide selection of shaved ice flavors. I got a scoop of Animal cracker/waffle cone and the boyfriend got a small strawberry lemonade/watermelon shaved ice. YUMZ. The ice was VERY fine unlike your typical snow cone, which was awesome. Only thing that could've been better was the texture of the waffle cone (which was purple and cute) as it crumbled off a little too easy.

Seems to be a cool spot although down the street in front of Harbor freight the snow cone shacks cones are just as good for a fraction of the price. "Might be the lack of a property tax and lower power bill"...

My daughters favorite shave ice place in Vegas. Her favorite is birthday cake. My new fav is tigers blood, tastes nothing like it sounds. For a treat, get ice cream in the bottom!! They also have some new flavors the trucks didn't have. The shacks have closed for the year, but this one stays open year round!! They have a walk up window. The inside is currently closed for covid precautions. There are plenty of benches around to be able to sit. Be prepared to wait in line. It does get pretty busy at times.

Always a friendly environment and personal very efficient. Service is quick and business area is always clean and inviting.

Purple penguin on water is the best. I can't believe how fast and nice they are . Gianna was so sweet and super fast with our order. The inside was super hot almost unbearable and I was only in there a few minutes and it's March! Seriously can't believe how fast it was , it usually takes at least 10 minutes. She had it ready before when even got outside. Great customer service with a smile on her face .

A little hole in the wall in Henderson. This is the closest thing to Hawaiian shaved ice that I've had outside of Hawaii. Super simple way to order. You go to the window, let them know what size you want, flavors (choose up to 3) and if you want to add ice cream (which flavor). Never super crazy busy when I've gone, so you're normally in and out within 5 mins. Also they have stamp cards!

Fantastic customer service and tasty snow cones. We will definitely be back soon. My mom had the coconut ice and I had cherry/blue raspberry/lemon lime. Both were great!

I came to the window, rang the bell (as instructed) a man popped out and I smiled and said hello, he looked passed me and my son, called to 2 gentlemen that were waiting for their order, and then just went right back inside. No acknowledgement, no "I'll be right with you", not even an "excuse me". I walked away because I'm not giving my money to a business that can't have basic manners. I work in the hospitality business and my standards aren't high because I understand being busy and stressed but that was very rude and they were not busy at all.

Unfortunately we got so sick I even threw up, definitely not getting again, but maybe it was just us. A bit pricey though

Cookie crumble shake and dole whip were tasty. Snow cones did not have much flavor. Family tried watermelon, mango and strawberry and could not tell much of a difference between each. Refreshing but not flavorful as expected.

There was a girl wearing a mask who was down right rude. I was unable to hear her do to the loud noises of the snow cone machines and she rolled her eyes and proceeded to be disrespectful. I asked for her to repeat the order back just so I can be sure I ordered the right things and she said "everything's right" and told me the amount. I understand if it's a bad day but being rude to paying customers is disrespectful and is enough to not ever wanna go back. I got my snowcones and I took one bite and it was just ice I had asked the lady in the mask if I can add more syrup and she mumbled some very negative words under her breathe. I heard the lady in the back say Audrey please help me to which her name was Audrey and she was very rude especially to my kids trying to order!!! Don't recommend

This place is so cute and their treats are delish! This one girl was so helpful and adorable!! IDK her name, but she had blond hair and glasses, what a cutie. Also the manager is awesome.

This is the original location of the Purple Penguin Snowcone Shack! I have to say that a customer told me that adding the vanilla ice cream on the bottom of your snowcone is the trick for extra deliciousness and how they made it in Texas before they brought it here! I tried that the next visit, and I won't ever get a plain snowcone again! Currently they have only Sugar Free Watermelon Syrup. Last time I was there they asked what sugar free flavor I would like and I said coconut, and they had that ready the next time I visited! That was wonderful. Upon my next visit there was a sugar free peach and watermelon! There are three spaces on their menu for sugar free options, so I hope they mix up some new flavors again! I took my family from out of town here and they all agreed it was a real treat! They offer a stamp card, so after 9 purchases, your 10th one os FREE! They also have trucks at different locations around the valley. The dining area at this location is open again. Two tables inside in air conditioning, with 6 chairs.

The best snow cone I've ever had!!! I'm from Southern California and let me tell you, every time I visit Henderson I HAVE to come here! The ice isn't an iced texture, it's like a creamy smooth gelati like texture. They have so many flavors and add ins, I usually get a sweet one like Bubblegum and cotton Candy, but today I added birthday cake flavor and birthday cake ice cream at the bottom. So delicious!!!

I love purple penguin it was a huge part of my child hood and there was one near me that permanently closed which made me very sad and when I saw the logo I nearly cried never close.

This was our first visit after hearing many friends rave about it. We LOVE that they serve Blue Bell ice cream! The shaved ice is very soft and the flavors are evenly distributed throughout the snowcone. We had a lovely evening sitting outside and eating our treats!

This place is a great stop on Water St when you have a craving for something sweet but not too rich. Something refreshing that could also be tangy. You've probably seen Purple Penguin doling out slushiness in relatively small metal box real estate that often sits on the corner of a gas station and often it's only a seasonal thing when you see them there going by the way side when the air gets a tad more chilly like the way the Pumpkin gives way to the Christmas Tree lots. But if your hankering for the slushie goodness is all seasonal, lo and behold here is a brick and mortar that's got what you ordered. They have a window to the outside which really isn't a drive thru but more of a walk up but you can also walk-in and get served there too. The reason why I frequent the place aside from it being within hoofing distance from my place of employ but also because it has sugar-free offerings and when you loves the sweets but Doc says you need to stay away, reprieves from a sweet-free life are the best!

I used to love going to the Purple Penguin shacks all over the city; my family and I would look forward to it every year. June 16th 2022 my aunt, father and I went to the Water Street location and were treated so badly I honestly couldn't believe it. This is the first time I've had a bad experience with Purple Penguin. For sure it was the worst experience I've ever had at any food/drink establishment in my life! I hardly ever make reviews but I had to let others know about my experience. From the moment we got there there was awkward tension from the two young girls behind the counter but we were pleasant, ignored it and made our orders. We bought 4 large icees and we didn't realize until we got to the car that they didn't have the scoop of ice at the top and it hardly had any syrup. We spent $28 for a cup of flavorless ice that wasn't even filled. We asked for more ice and they literally gave us a millimeter of just ordinary plain ice, no syrup and a side of bad attitude. My feelings were hurt and the drinks were terrible. After driving across town and spending nearly $30 for this taxing experience it is safe to say I will not be returning to Purple Penguin or recommending anyone else to this place again.

Very nice and clean place! Not enough seating inside. Could do better in friendly-ness and helping with figuring out some of the combinations on the board. Will be back.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon, they have a walk up window. We didn't have the shaved ice, but we got a few scoops of ice cream. Very cheap price and it was delicious. Servers were friendly. Real cute place, perfect for a warm day.

Walked Water Street in Henderson after a more than huge meal at JFFC. Wanted a refreshing sweet. What's better than ice cream! Walked in and was warmly greeted. So nice. New and clean. Friend had a pina colada shaved ice, very nice! I had a Dole whip twist with soft serve. So good. Son had a Dole whip cone. Waffle cones were crisp, BTW. Pic of Dole Whip in waffle cone!

Love this place !!!! Friendly and clean. But my order was wrong the last I went. I would still definitely recommend this place especially for the hot summer nights

My husband loves this place. We have to go here at least once a week to get his sugar-free snowcone fix. And I love their Dole Whip. It is Just as good as the ones at Disneyland.

My first time here and I had the pistachio ice cream which was delicious! Plenty of options to choose from.
