"With a name that translates to “butcher shop” and “charcoal” in Korean, it’s almost certain the options are aplenty. The all-you-can-eat preference (starting at $55 per person) promises unlimited pork belly, bulgogi, and a premium protein like dry-aged ribeye or giant short ribs. A la carte plates are available, and of course, there is alternative fare in the form of cold noodles and brisket stew." - Tierney Plumb, Emily Venezky

This is one of my favorite Korean BBQ places in the DMV area. Amazing food and fast service. We walked in around 6 pm on a Saturday and waited for around 50 mins before sitting down. Reservations are highly recommended as this place can be pretty busy on weekends. The meat quality was good. My favorite was the brisket. The regular Tan Combo was perfect for two people if you don’t want to do all-you-can-eat.

This is an absolutely spectacular dining experience. As soon as you sit down..BAM! An assortment of hors d'oeuvres is served, kimchi, glass noodles, pickled daikon, salad, and happiness. Then you order the meats. I got the giant rib, was absolutely delectable and delicious! Cooked to perfection. Expert service. They understand the unspoken contract between eater and cooker. They seem truly concerned about your culinary well-being. (If you enjoy efficient cooking and travel videos please visit cuisineQuest on YouTube, no regrets!)

We had a great lunch here a while back. The meats were fresh and of good quality and tasted good after grilling. Service was decent, and the place was clean and tidy. Overall, we were satisfied with all aspects that this restaurant offers.

Really enjoyed this place. I love kbbq and I eat at different spots regularly. The highlights for me here were the smoked pork belly, the giant rib, and the corn cheese. All verrrry good. The AYCE comes with 1 premium meat choice per person and an option to upgrade that to a wagyu selection for $10. The service and atmosphere were both very good.

Google
Excellent food, GREAT service. Great kimchi! Perfect for a carnivore like me. Did see a roach on the floor, but the food was still great!

Came across this place accidentally. It was getting close to closing. Happy they served us. Wasn’t too pricey compare to other Korean restaurants. Highly recommended, you won’t be disappointed.

Google
4.5 stars. The Korean bbq was truly excellent - we ordered brisket, short ribs, bulgogi, and a pork belly. The meat is grilled at your table and served with three great tasting sauces. Banchan side dishes were very good also. My dinner companion also liked the steamed eggs and the corn cheese. We ordered the 4 meat deal for two. An all you can eat option is also available. Service was excellent- quick efficient and friendly.

Put in a reservation to avoid the long waits during peak hours because this tiny place gets PACKED! Been here multiple times now (even before they had an ayce!) and never failed us. Service is a 10/10, they check on you every three minutes, meat is delicious, high quality and sits well in your stomach. We tried their acye for the first time last week, a little worried because their a la carte was such good quality and it was a SPLENDID experience! Their meat and service remains top notch despite the packed restaurant and addition of ayce! Recc: try the fresh galbi, it’s the best.

Yelp
Inspired to come for all you can eat (AYCE) brunch on a weekday ($30/each). What inspired me was the Memorial Day review because I came on Juneteenth. It was treated as a regular weekday lunch rather than holiday. Some people had reservations, but based on reviews it wasn't necessary, and I wouldn't recommend it unless you had a large party. Noticed a very discreet outside with tinted windows and blinds so we can't be "recognized by the public". Overall this was a pleasant experience with friendly and attentive service. I was able to get my hot barley tea instead of iced water. They have a nice selection of beer, soju, and even soju cocktails. Were it evening, I may try it. For AYCE you can typically order 3 meats to start. We ordered brisket, spicy bulgogi, and chicken bulgogi. The brisket was excellent. The spicy marinade was not very spicy, so I asked for a side of raw garlic which came with soybean paste and jalapeño peppers. None of these were spicy either. Side dishes seemed sparse, with just kimchi, soy radish, pickled radish, and later jap chae. Other sides included a brilliant pork rib broth (with daikon), steamed egg, and corn cheese. For round two, we got bulgogi and another round of brisket. I felt our brisket was very fatty, and since we weren't cooking ourselves, it was difficult to have it burned off. Cooking for you, by the way, is a luxury I'm not used to, having come from SoCal. It's usually only offered at fancier restaurants, but here it's apparently the norm that we do not cook our own food. Hm. Would come back though as this is pretty close to me :)

Yelp
FOOD I had their bulgogi lunch box, and at 15.95, it was very filling! The side salad, japchae, rice, dumplings, kimchi, and more was a great addition to the sweet, savory beef. It comes pre-cooked so we didn't need to use the stove. DRINKS Assorted beverages are available for purchase. SERVICE The staff are kind and friendly. AMBIANCE The interior is very neat and tidy. Exhaust fans are available at every table so it rarely gets too smoky inside. PARKING Ample parking is available in the plaza lot.

Yelp
Expect to wait for 20-40 mins. It's great for family and friends. I think it's up to 6 people at the table. We did the AYCE that's give you 1 premium meat per person. The sides were little different from other places. They gave us the usual of kimchi, salad, and pickled radish. But the meat broth, steamed egg, and corn cheese came with it too. 1st came out the premium meat. I loved the prime marinated kalbi. It was perfectly juicy. The dry aged rib eye was more tender, chewy, and like steak texture. My favorite were the smoked pork belly, fresh pork belly, and curry beef. It's so unique and not sold at most places. The Chadol was alright but tasted little like styrofoam. The pork shoulder is so tender and so filling. I would eat this last or don't get this. Lastly, we got the bulgogi. It wasn't that good but that might have been it got cold that's why. Overall it's my favorite kbbq.

Yelp
I recently came back here for dinner and had a wonderful experience. This restaurant has become my go to KBBQ spot and this last time dining there has reaffirmed my stance. Great service from the staff and quality and taste of the meats and side dishes were great. Prices are steep but I think for the service and quality of food; it is worth it.

Yelp
Came for late lunch at 1pm and the place wasn't busy at all. Love the location since there are plenty of parking. AYCE option was the way to go for us. Service was impeccable a d quality of meat is not bad at all. Will be back

Nina D.

Yelp
We arrived on Memorial Day and they were open. Seated right away for lunch. Sauces and side dishes were good. Service was great and loved that they cooked for us. We ordered the corn cheese, steamed egg, AYCE lunch and got the rice I don't know belly, brisket, and bulgolgi. Loved how they had vents right over the food so my clothes didn't smell when we left. Place was pretty clean so I'd definitely come again.

Nancy M.

Yelp
Amazing meal!! The host was really great and kept things in order and moving along. We didn't do the all you can eat, but I'm sure most do. We opted to order specific things we wanted. We ordered the corn cheese because duhhh why wouldn't you? The soup that is included was okay. For the meats we ordered the marinated kalbi, dry aged rib eye, and the giant rib kalbi. The kalbi is always sooooo good!! So tender, juicy, flavorful. Yum!!! I've never had the giant rib kalbi, but the presentation is amazing. You just know you're about to have some dank ass meat. I would literally go back and just eat kalbi all night long. Check them out!!

Joyce P.

Yelp
I like the ambience. We ordered 2 meat selections, thought it was not enough since we love kbbq but it was just perfect. We came on a sunday afternoon and there was enough tables, no lines! Food was great. Love their free onion soup!

Una D.

Yelp
I can't believe I didn't write my review I came here with friends for weekend lunch. Didn't have too much of awake. The typical things I like which were standard in Korean BBQ pair we're excellent that included spicy pork and bulgogi Came with a massive amount of signs which they were a little bit stingy with the replenishing but overall it was a good example There is free parking in the lot. Ambiance is nice. Bathroom is clean. The good value for the money. If you're looking for a solid Korean barbecue place , This one will not disappoint!

Jimmy L.

Yelp
Check this place out! Esteban provided excellent service and the food was so tasty. Meat quality here is definitely excellent and justifies the $55 signature AYCE option. We really liked the pork kalbi. Give this place a try and see for yourself!

Christina Y.

Yelp
I usually expect every kbbq place's meat to all be around the same quality, but I thought this place had some exceptionally yummy stuff, especially the pieces of premium beef choices! I loved all of them! First, this restaurant is located in a traditional shopping center, so there is plenty of parking right out front. My group all did the Signature AYCE option and all the meats were great! I was actually surprised at how good the curry pork belly was too because I normally don't venture out of my usual beef brisket, pork belly, and spicy pork bulgogi. I enjoyed everything we tried. There were also plenty of great sides and ssam (lettuce) was available upon request. The customer service was super friendly as well which is appreciated. I just knocked one star off because eventually towards the end of our meal, our server wasn't really around anymore. Maybe short staffed?

Howard F.

Yelp
Friendly servers and good Korean barbecue at this nice spot. We got a combo (4 items), tying out the brisket, soy chicken, bulgogi and curry chicken. The brisket was way too much fat for my tastes. The curry chicken underwhelmed, but the regular soy one was good, and the bulgogi was delicious. I loved the salad. The grilled veggies were nothing special - next time, I'd just ask for more salad. The appetizers were good, and so was the egg and the soup, but I could do without the corn/cheese dish, which was not that great and does not mesh well with all the other dishes.

Rachel K.

Yelp
The quality of meat at this place makes it one of the best Korean barbecue places in northern Virginia in my opinion. Every single cut we got was really really good. My group of 4 got the large kbbq combo and 2 cold noodle entrees which was PLENTY of food. I'm also glad we made a reservation. There wasn't a single empty table during when we went (Friday dinner). I recommend making a reservation if you plan on going!

Wendi C.

Yelp
This place although small but everything from food to service was amazing! We got the package for 4 people and the amount was just right! We all left full. The meats were delicious and the beef soup was amazing. I do wish they had more side dishes tho. Will be coming back soon!

Sean K.

Yelp
Man this place is a hidden gem right now. Their meat quality is good and they do sides better than most of the other kbbq places in the area. The radish soup is a great addition that other places don't serve. It's also nice to have a kbbq place closer than centreville or annandale. Service was kinda eh. Not bad at all, but not amazing. They kept turning the meats too often so it didnt get any real sear and they were hovering over our table for a while so it felt a little bit awkward to continue the conversation with my friends as they were able to hear it all. But aside from that the dining experience was great.

Hyewon L.

Yelp
Came here with a party of 6 for dinner, service was attentive. We decided to order 4 premium meat and then try the combo menu of 4 regular meat. The GOOD: get only the premium kalbi!!! Honestly the kalbi quality here is so good. Try both the marinated and the unmarinated kalbi they are top notch. Our table also liked the baby back ribs. Almost tasted like the Korean vienna sausages. The radish soup came out complementary and it was reallly good. I think that's pretty unique as most bbq places give you dwenjang soup. Steamed egg was pretty good we had to order another one. The banchan was okay, but the one thing that stood out was the cucumber kimchi. The BAD: the worst cuts of meat were the regular combo meat. So I suggest you stay away from the AYCE and the combo menu items. Only get the premium cuts. Jumuluk was by far the worst and the samgyeopsal was also appalling. The person cooking our meat was a young girl and I don't think she knew how to cook the meat. The meat came out really dry because she kept flipping it and the juice/moisture had escaped. I also didn't like the seasoning of the jumuluk. Fresh kalbi meat was not that great compared to the premium cut of kalbi. Corn cheese was soooo disappointing. The corn came out hard and the corn they used was not the sweet corn. I returned it and when they gave it to me again, it was the same. I got the crunchy potato pancake and it came out too deep fried and oily. The sauce that came with it was whatever.

Kate C.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing. I would recommend upgrading so you c a try some of the higher quality meats.

Clara S.

Yelp
First off, the food was pretty good. We all got the all you can eat menu option, and we really enjoyed some of their premium meat options (dry aged beef, giant rib kalbi) and some of their normal meat options (pork kalbi). The side dishes were also good-- the soup and egg dishes were great. Ambiance was casual-- good to go with family or friends. The service, however, was not optimal. Granted, we had a huge party size (8 people). However, even if we had made a reservation, we had to wait 20-30 minutes out in the cold to get our table. Also, the meat dishes didn't come out quickly-- the portion sizes were on the smaller side and the turnover rate pretty slow. This meant that we weren't really able to get our moneys worth-- as we were seated later than we expected and the turnover rate was slow, we left the restaurant still hungry.

Yelp
Great food! Very relaxing environment and nice small talk from servers. I see myself becoming a regular customer.

Yelp
I had one of the better Korean barbeque experiences here with some friends. Our server, Aiken, is the man! He talked us through the whole experience and made some fantastic choices when we were stuck on what to get. He was very attentive with helping us cook everything too. Choi, the manager/owner, was also amazing and stepped up when needed. It's a nice space in a convenient location. We ended up going for the multi-course Korean bbq spread from the menu and upgraded some of our choices. It was well worth it! I wish I had written down everything we had, but the bulgogi, galbi, brisket, ribs, pork belly, and spicy pork were all delicious. In my opinion the upgraded galbi was the best. I went with two friends and we all had a different ranking in our top three which shows how good everything was. The corn cheese was a nice add-on and the banchan choices were excellent (and refilled several times over). I immediately earmarked this restaurant to take my brothers when we get the chance. I can't wait to come back!

Thuy V.

Yelp
Enjoyed our kbbq here. We choose a small set with four meats and added on a rib for our family of four with two small kids and it was just right. We liked the brisket, rib, kalbi and marinated pork. Didn't love the smoked pork belly compared to the other meats. We liked that they had a different soup than the usual tofu soup and the cheesy rice. The ban chan was ok. Reservations on Friday/weekend highly recommended as it's not very big. Mostly four tops with only a couple of larger tables.

Tiffany T.

Yelp
Long wait that got busy very fast at dinner time. For the price and because we have better options I probably wouldn't come back. But I'm happy I tried it! We went with the tan combo Brisket had a nice charcoal flavor but isn't as soft or yummy as some other places 3.5/5 Fresh galbi is good but nothing special but seasoned very nicely 3.5/5 I didn't like the smoked pork belly. Too much fat to meat ratio and really taste like a heavy bacon. I don't think it was a real Smokey flavor maybe liquid smoke? 1/5 Pork jowl was basically just crispy fat lol 1/5 Giant galbi was super yummy! Prob same level as other good places or a little worse than Gogiville/ meokja meokja. Nice seasoning not too sweet. A couple pieces too fatty 4.5/5 The oxtail soup was kinda amazing. The radish and onions were soft and sweet and the the soup was incredibly light but beefy 5/5 Eggs were standard 3/5 I like whatever cheese they used in the corn cheese and the level of char 4/5 Rice was on the mushier side but still good 3.5/5 I didn't need the sauce cause the charcoal and salt on the meats were actually really good and no sauce particularly stood out Spicy cold noodles were about standard but the meat it came with was dry 3/5 The servers were very nice but almost too attentive. I feel like the meat was cooked faster than I could eat it and barely had a minute to breathe which made it hard to grab sides under their arms

Amala S.

Yelp
My group went with the large Tan combo. There was 6 of us so we got the combo and a few add on entrees to try as well. The quality of the meat was good but as a group we found it not to be as good for the price. Not sure if it was just our server but we were told when we do the combo we have to pick all 8 of our meats right there. So there was no opportunity for us to order a second round of a meat we might have really enjoyed. We also did a premium beef of prime marinated kalbi which was incredible. But again, for the extra charge it didn't seem worth it. It might have just been a busy day but we also had issues getting our side dishes to the table. Had to ask multiple times where our corn cheese was and by the time it came we were already half way through our meat set. The table also got a little crowded as they kept bringing us meat and leaving the plates on the table. The overall experience was fine. I'm just an AYCE kbbq enjoyer.

Dakota M.

Yelp
I came here on a double date on a Friday night! We had reservations at 7:30pm and it was packed. They have a pre-selection of variety of meats you can order on the bottom of the menu. We did Selection on and added on a couple meats for the table as some of our guest were not adventureous. The sides game is on point! You can ask for unlimited refills on our sides. I do wish we could ask to send some back that the table didn't like to get some more room as there was 0 table space with sides, water, 2 soju, main plate for meats, sauces and sides. We also tried both Bingsu at the end of the meal. The Matcha was the best, but I don't think either were worth the money. The service was great. they were quick to check on our table, and they cooked for us, cutting up the various meats into more eattable sections. They even opened the soju for us and poured our first round. It was laid back, crowded but yet not so loud. We had later reservations and the place closes early, so we were one of the last to leave. I enjoyed the flavors and the sides and would recommend this place to try again.

Yelp
About a 1-1.5: Man, Puzukan - not sure where all these high reviews from these folks are coming from, but this place ain't it. This place describes themselves as offering a charcoal grill experience, but that's not at all what it was... it was just a metal grill, and there weren't any charcoal used - was super confused about that! This place seems to have some hype in terms of KBBQ and being 'the best in NoVA', so we decided to give them a try for dinner. Making reservations was a breeze - there's no online reservations, so you call the place directly; we were surprised that one of the days was fully booked already on the day of, but calling a day in advance seem to work out. The menu includes beef and pork options (a la carte), as well as combinations that come with steamed egg, corn cheese, soup, and rice; a 'Butcher's Omakase', lunch options, and a Wagyu Special menu. We ordered: +Cha-Dol - sliced brisket; this was super fatty, but were cooked well with slight crispy edges +Classic Kalbi - marinated boneless short rib; you could hardly taste the marinade; this was super cartilage-y and tough; they definitely did not tenderize this meat at all +Prime Boneless Kalbi - unmarinated prime boneless short rib meat; less tough than the Classic Kalbi, this was still super fatty and more on the tough end Honestly, the meats were just super disappointing - the restaurant made it sound that premium and high-quality cuts are used, but we felt that there was a total lack of quality control in terms of the meats that were served - really not sure how these were able to leave the kitchen? Galbi should never be 'tough', and the Prime Boneless Kalbi should have been melt-in-your-mouth tender. Also, the galbi should have been used on a mesh grill, rather than the metal grill that they had; there was no asking of swapping out the grills, either, as all meats were basically cooked on one. That was kind of weird. The banchans were forgettable; the dressed salad had an off taste to them; the jahpchae had hard noodles and were not seasoned well; I did like the pickled sliced radish, though, but some slices were kind of dirty with dark stains - yuck! You can request ssamjang, but this was definitely more on the sweeter end. I was not a fan of the 2 out of 3 sauces that were automatically provided (the spicy sweet chili and the peanut-like sauce), as they did not complement any of the meats. When we arrived, we were seated right away, which we appreciated. Service was super friendly and sweet. The place was super packed, and this seemed more of a catering to the Americanized palate of the locals. Sorry, not sorry. Glad I was able to give this place a try, but wouldn't return. Plenty of parking in the shared plaza lot; located in the Yorktowne Plaza Shopping Center, near UPS. +low-quality cuts of meat T___T +super friendly service +reservations accepted via the phone +located in the Yorktowne Plaza Shopping Center +plenty of parking in the large plaza lot

Noel D.

Yelp
Came at 9:14pm to eat. Drove all the way from New Jersey & the guy said the kitchen is closed so we can't eat in. A business should not list their hours to be open until 10pm if that's the case. To be turned away when all of us were starving even after I explained that we came from far away-- that left a bad taste. Update your hours.

David C.

Yelp
Food was good. Service was average. Ambiance was average. A good place just to go eat.

Preston L.

Yelp
First time trying this place and I will say, it's not bad. The host was very friendly and during lunch time it's not that busy. Being seated right away, it didn't take long to order. Knowing what my party and I wanted, we opted for the Tan B combo which came with corn cheese, a beef soup, and a steamed egg. With all of those accompaniments, the combo is very worth the price. All the Banchan tasted great and the quality of the meats were good. Eating the juicy and tender meat with the cold noodles is my go to when at Korean bbq and they do a great job. The server even brought over the mustard and vinegar that typically comes with Korean cold noodles. Great place for lunch!

Kat N.

Yelp
The food was mediocre. Service was alright. For the price, I'd go elsewhere. The only meat we liked was the waygu.

Jae P.

Yelp
I've heard so much about this place and am happy that it didnt disappoint! Honestly, couldn't really tasted the difference in the "charcoal grill" that they advertise, but the meat quality and service were all excellent. We did the tan combo and added premium cuts - really love that the combos are flexible and you can pick which cuts of meat that you want. All the side dishes were delicious (steamed egg, corn cheese, etc) and loved that they have bingsoo so that you can take care of dessert while you're here too. Would highly recommend and will definitely need to make a reservation on future visits.

Lillian L.

Yelp
New place located in the same shopping center as Aldi, Five Guys and Elephant Jumps. Parking lot and easy parking access. Their menu isn't AYCE and it is similar to that of Meokja's in Fairfax. I would highly recommend making a reservation. They told me over the phone they only have two walk in tables. The restaurant is rather small so it makes sense. When we came at 445pm on a weekend (they opened at 5), we were able to snag a table but within 5 minutes, the place was packed. We ordered the option A, smaller portion. This is a good amount for two people. It came with an egg, salad, corn cheese and soup as well as the smaller sides such as jap chae and radish. Everything was pretty good, nothing I didn't like. To me though- the meat wasn't mind blowing and going to an AYCE, you'd be getting more for paying a cheaper price. Our server was very attentive and got us refills in a timely manner. I'd come back because of the location but again, would choose an AYCE place instead.

Evelyn L.

Yelp
Bulgogi was delicious. We went during one of our training days and we loved the spot. But due to one of the servers (young Spanish girl) put her hands inside the veggie without gloves I can only give it 2 stars

Ahra J.

Yelp
This was my second time at Puzukan Tan and I would say it was a better experience than the first! My first time, I recalled the meat quality was excellent but it was missing some parts of the Korean BBQ experience for me. I don't know if others had made the same suggestions but they added kimchi, various soup options and even the steamed egg in addition to the banchan's (side dishes) they originally offered. Since my first trip here, they have also elevated the sauces they offer ranging from sweet to savory to appease all. This time, we went as a group of 14, all sat at different tables on New Years Eve. We were a group of 4 and we ordered chadol (thin sliced brisket), jumuluk (marinated beef rib), giant beef rib, brisket Jambong ramen, crispy potato, and bulgogi sushi. They were all delicious but my top favorite was the jumuluk. It is not a style of meat that I can easily find anymore but it has always been one of my favorites. My second favorite was the giant beef rib. It is a perfect pair of meat and fat. It can be rich in flavor so it pairs nicely with some rice and radish wrap. The service remains to be excellent with our server being attentive to us the whole time! He also engaged with us and made sure that we did not run low on anything. If we did ask for something he was quick to replenish it! Despite the distance, we will definitely be coming back here again!

Billy V.

Yelp
Very busy on Friday and weekends so definitely get reservations when possible. The server cooks all your meat which is nice. Meat quality was very good. Juicy, tender and melt in your mouth in short. The side dishes were yummy. The brisket soup was delicious and the corn cheese was as well. I don't think I can go back to AYCE after getting this type of service and quality meat. My expectations has increased and it will be hard to beat this place. I will recommend and will be back. Also it is fairly small place so again reservations are important on busier days. It's located in a shopping center so there's plenty of parking.

Virginia H.

Yelp
This is my new favorite place for KBBQ! Although they do not offer AYCE, but the serving size was perfect for small groups that prefer not to overeat. We went with Tan "A" Combination that was for $55, but it has increased to $57. I love the steamed egg, corn cheese and beef soup that were included in the order. I couldn't get enough of their house salad and I was glad they offered more! Cha-dol and Pork Belly were my favorite cuts, but overall the meats were very flavorful on its own. They are almost always busy and filled up quickly at night and weekends so it's recommended to come early or call in for a reservation. The server does cook the meat for you, but I was relieved when the server offered to give us time to eat before cooking the rest. Even though they were crowded, the service was still great and their staff were very attentive.

Hunter B.

Yelp
I saw this place and decided to check it out. We went for lunch at KBBQ. There was corn cheese included on the side so that is a plus. They tended to just cook the meats for us rather than us doing it. The best was the spicy pork belly and the bulgogi. The brisket and chicken were not the best. I would not mind going back but their dinner price is so much more and that is usually when I would want to go to kbbq.

Andy C.

Yelp
Puzukan tan is a kbbq joint that offers both AYCE and premium ala carte options. We had the combo for 2 people which was $70. You get sides, 2 rice, and the choice of 4 meats (not AYCE). There is an option to pick premium prime beef and/or wagyu for an additional upcharge as well. We chose fresh galbi, brisket, pork belly, and pork shoulder. The meat quality wasn't bad for the price point and you get a good amount of food. Service was top notch and our waitress helped explain any questions we had. It's a little loud for a nice romantic dinner but great for groups of friends in my opinion. The restaurant is mid-sized and popular right now so it's a bit hard to get a table without a reservation. We almost didn't eat here because there was a 30 min wait for our table and gyu shige and meat project are right down the street. Thankfully my date wanted to try it so we stayed. For dessert, they only offer 2 bingsoo (shaved ice) options which weren't appealing to us but everything else was great. Will definitely come back again.

Yelp
Great quality meat and lovely service! The owner himself cooked our food to ensure perfect results.

Yelp
My bf and I came here around 5pm on a Sunday and got seated close to 6pm. We ordered the signature cut which was more than we could finish (we ended up getting a to-go box for the baby back ribs). My favorite was probably the giant rib kalbi. The quality of the meat was better than some of the other KBBQs in the area but I wasn't very impressed by the side dishes. No kimchi, no rice cakes, and the beef soup was lukewarm and lacked flavor. A big reason I gave this place 4 stars is because the customer service was excellent. Starting with the host, who was on top of his game from the moment we walked in. He provided updates, offered water while we waited, and was very nice and professional. The wait staff was also terrific - friendly, attentive, and someone even ran out to bring us the leftovers we forgot on our table. Despite the hour long wait, we enjoyed our meal and we're glad we tried it. The restaurant is relatively small (no more than 20 tables) and located at the shopping center near Aldi and to the right of CVS. Pro tips: call to make a reservation (there's no online option), wear a warm coat (the cold air seeps in from the front door and the waiting area gets frigid), eat your corn cheese as soon as you get it (it turns into mush if you wait too long), and bring a tea bag if you must (they only serve hot water, no hot tea).

Yelp
Being a new business, I thought I'd give this place a try. I was hoping to like this NKOTB like I did the band in the 90s, but I just couldn't, and here's why: 1- What kind of Korean restaurant does not put (cabbage) kimchi on the table? I asked for some and they told me it only comes in the kimchi fried rice. So... if you like kimchi with your bbq, do not come here. You will only get the cucumber and turnip kimchi here. Other banchan, sure, but no cabbage. 2- The sauces they provide for the meats include a Viet/Thai sauce mix that is just not Korean. Some people may like it, but it just felt off to me. 3- Other reviews seemed to indicate you might get some complimentary side dish- not me. 4- The amount of meat per order felt a little light. Now, the flavor was good (got the brisket, bulgogi, and pork belly), but it just didn't feel enough. 5- We ordered grilled veggies, cheesy corn and steamed egg sides. The grilled veggies and cheesy corn seemed small for what we paid ($6.95 and $5), and the cheese on the corn wasn't even that warm/gooey. The steamed egg was the typical (good), but it was delivered AFTER we were done with all our other food. The waiter seemed surprised by this, but didn't offer to comp it or anything. 6- The bingsoo was really disappointing to me. If you've had other bingsoo, don't bother getting this one unless you're looking for something pretty simple/plain. There was no mocho or fruit in it, and minimal ice. Sorry to sound like a Negative Nancy, but I expect certain things when I go to a Korean BBQ, and just didn't feel the 'Wow that was so good!' when I went, and don't plan to return. I will say I did like idea of the more traditional charcoal block in the cook pit.

Yelp
Been here a few times and would definitely place it in my top 3 KBBQ places in the DMV area for the variety/quality of the banchan as well as the meat available. Service is amazing as we had a dedicated server cooking our meat the entire time; unlike many kbbq places where you may be cooking yourself for part (or the whole) time, the servers will come by very often and take care of all the grilling for you. They're also very quick to bring more banchan (though depending, you may need to be proactive in asking). I personally really like the dipping sauces they provide but they do mostly tend to be on the sweeter side which many people may not prefer. Imo it pairs well with the meat and helps bring out more flavor but maybe a more spicy dipping sauce would add more variety. There's a good variety of banchan but it's a mix of quality, some very good and some meh. The steamed egg and corn cheese are delicious and a must (included in the combo sets, but separate add on when you order a la carte). All the kimchi, from cucumber to radish to assorted veggies, are always absolutely amazing, by far the best kimchi I've had (given my only experience with kimchi is from Korean restaurants in the DMV area). I enjoyed the radish beef soup as well, lots of flavor in it, assuming they use the bones from all the meat to make a good stock. The other pickled radish, japchae, and salad left a bit to be desired though, mostly on the blander side. I haven't tried the AYCE before so I can't speak on that, but the combo and a la carte meats are quite high quality, especially the kalbi. Just thinking about it makes me drool. The meat is all quite a bit more expensive compared to other KBBQ places, but the increase in quality honestly makes it worth it to me as you'll rarely get flavor this good in the area. You don't have to worry as much about getting the meat aroma all over your clothes as the ventilation system is kept prettty low and close to the grill to suck up most of the air before it gets to you. I hear there's usually a wait for this place but I got in within 5 min each time I visited on the weekend so I'm not sure if I was just lucky. Also not sure if there's a special deal sometimes, but one time we got a free beer as part of some promotion when ordering a combo set which was pretty nice.

Yelp
The food was okay, the service was a bit confusing as many servers went around helping us cook but it wasn't efficient as they all cooked differently. Most of the servers didn't seem to know how to cook kbbq properly, our brisket was smashed into many small pieces and the pork belly was cut even before it was seared- causing the taste to differ. Our group of 3 was about to order some more initially but decided not to due to the cooking and quality of the meats. We did try the bingsoo but didnt expect it to be so small- we ended up at a local cafe to get our fix of dessert! Overall- i understand they are newly opened, would possibly try it out again once they figure out training and small issues! They also should get a better hosting system as opposed to the old schooled pen and paper!

Yelp
I heard that there was a new KBBQ in town, so I came here with one of my friends for our annual "gogi + naengmyeon" dinner meet up. After hearing such raving reviews from friends and DMV Instagram food influencers, I was extremely excited to try Puzukan Tan! I'd recommend calling in advance to reserve a spot - fortunately, my friend and I were able to secure a table for 2 this past Tuesday at 6 PM a few hours beforehand. To start, I thought the banchan was just OK. We had four different ones: japchae, radish kimchi, cucumber kimchi, and some sort of onion/potato. I really love japchae, but the one here is just all noodles with a few bits of cabbage. Nothing fantastic, but I can't complain because I don't see japchae much to begin with. I enjoyed the radish kimchi, but that was about it. My friend and I both agreed that the banchan could be better. There was also a salad, which was decent. Nice to get in my leafy greens intake for the day. CHA-DOL - 14.95 I'd recommend the chadol here. The brisket was sliced so thinly and the quality was fantastic. I liked dipping it in every KBBQ sauce they had here (sweet & spicy glaze, sesame oil & salt, and something else that reminded me of a peanut & sesame). Each sauce enhanced the chadol differently and I was impressed by the quality for the price point, too. CLASSIC KALBI - 19.95 What we got wasn't the kalbi we thought we'd be getting? It looked more like a marinated chuck steak. I had expected the classic thin kalbi cuts (the strip with three bones on one side and meat on the other). Anyway, it looked more like a steak but it was still very delicious! The marinade was sweet and delightful, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. KOREAN COLD NOODLE - 13.95 The naengmyeon here was pretty underwhelming. The noodle texture could be a bit chewier, but what let us down was the broth. We both thought the broth could be sweeter for it to be satisfying. There were only a couple slices of brisket and half an egg (along with some radish and cucumbers). Adding the vinegar + mustard helped, and it was still tasty with our gogi. Overall, I probably wouldn't get this again as the naengmyeon itself was just OK. There were so many people here, but the service was excellent. Our server checked in on us often and helped us grilled our meat. I liked that they changed out our grill after every meat. Apparently, they use a hybrid of charcoal/gas here, so it's supposed to make the meat taste different. However, the smoke kept flying to my face, which made it hard for me to breathe, HAHA. Again, the chadol was good. The sauces were amazing. I'd come back again for their a la carte meats. The KBBQ combos are drool-worthy and I'm eyeing their butcher's omakase (only $59 per person!) for next time.

Yelp
Came back a couple months after their soft opening! Such a perfect experience this time. We were planning to go to meojka meojka but they had an hour wait time so we called ahead and the host notified us there was no wait. When we arrived they already set up the table for us! We were very surprised and the host was very kind to us! Food and service was amazing and quality was there. Definitely a place to come back to!

Yelp
New spot that has open! This is a must try, the meat is super fresh and the prices are amazingly reasonable! I am excited to come back. The place is new and service is very good. We got the chadol, prime unmarinated galbi and pork jowl. I highly recommend the galbi and the pork jowl is rare but delicious. We also got the butcher kimchi jigae , only comment is this is not your korean kimchi jigae, has potatoes and strong pork broth. It is good though! Lots of pork and veggies inside. I am excites to come back!!

Yelp
Wow this place is SO good like I really think it has the potential to be the next best restaurant in the area! We came in yesterday around 6 without a reservation so we were on the waitlist for about 20 minutes before getting the table. This a la carte restaurant only been open for about two weeks and are understaffed but still make it a point to provide good service and help customers cook the meat if needed. I was really impressed with the quality of the food- from the banchan to the meats and unique sides they provide with the combos. The combos come with a reasonable portion of steamed egg, butter cheese corn, rice, AND a light beef raddish soup! They even provide individual bowls for the soup which is perfect for sharing. The combo TAN A set ($55 for 2-3 person portion) included porkbelly, brisket, bulgogi, and pork galbi I believe and it was all so delicious and filling. And for the price the quality and portion was perfect. I will definitely be coming back as the staff were all very friendly, nice, and transparent with their lack of staff. I cannot stress enough the quality you're getting for the price and they also have other options like dessert, meat omokase, the cocktails were unfortunately unavailable cause I think they don't have a bartender right now but I'll be back to try their meat omokase for sure!

Yelp
We were a table of 7 and we got two large combos. The selection of meat is huge and the portion is quite big. I'm pretty sure I did not stop eating the whole time I was there LOL meats are flavorful and tender. The person grilled everything for the table which was nice. We also got a matcha bingsu and that thing was massive! Overall it was a nice experience and I definitely want to come back and try their premium cuts :)

Yelp
Simply incredible experience. We did AYCE lunch and the value for such quality of food was unmatched. A lot of sides available with the delicious meat options. The service was great and our party of 6 had a fantastic time.

Yelp
I have came here for a couple of times and this place is consistent. Their panchan is pretty goof with japchae, potatoes, and a couple of kimchis. Everytime I come, I get the signature cut. Granted it is the more expensive combo but trust me, it is worth it! Honestly, their meat is good enough to eat without dipping it in the sauce that they provide. Their large kalbi at the end is the star of the show. A sleeper hit is the soup that comes with every combo. If they sold that separately, I'd honestly order a whole tables worth of it. The flavor of every meat is amazing and you can really tell that the restaurant cares about the customers experience. This place gets pretty packed on weekends so I would recommend calling ahead and making a reservation. I dream of this place and I cannot wait to go back!
