Q bar

The airport in Houston allowed this restaurant to displace almost all of the seats for the c1 and c2 gates. Then, even though they had plenty of seats available, kicked me out of them for not ordering food or a drink. Terrible service and it's ridiculous that the Houston Airport allowed this. It would be different if there was ample seating elsewhere.

I’m literally writing this from my table at this restaurant. Reasonably priced spot for bbq in an airport. I ordered shortly after 9pm. I ordered the Q Sliders, which comes with 3 sliders, coleslaw, and pickles per the menu. Mine came with chips instead of slaw. You can also choose 1 of each option, chicken was out when I dined so I ordered 2 brisket and 1 pulled pork. The brioche bun was buttered and toasted well. The pork needs a lot more flavor. The brisket was burnt/overcooked. A 24 hour BBQ restaurant should never serve burnt/inedible meat. Server was nice, but I’ll never return.

Good grub, but the POS ordering system makes the whole thing feel like a self serve McD and takes away from the meal which is positioned upmarket. Much appreciate the staff attitude and helpfulness. Most drinks sold separately.

As a non-Texan, but someone who’s been to places like Terry Blacks. I thought this place had great food. I ordered the two meat platter with brisket and sausage and i thought it was good. The sides were good too (potatoe salad and green beans). The waitress was very nice and welcoming as well. Paying was seamless online, however had ads afterwards which was annoying. Overall great experience.

Man people giving this place bad reviews are crazy or never been in an airport before. Was planning on spending a million bucks at Pappadeaux but stopped here instead. Was pleasantly surprised at the BBQ, and the Mac n Cheese was top tier…. And 50% off the bourbon shot on boilermakers? Lets go! Tommy was awesome as well. Thanks for taking care of me brother!

The best part about this place is the location. Got chips and guac with a mixed drink. The drink would have been the worst part but fortunately for them, the server couldn't be more useless and unfriendly. I had to say hello as she was walking away. Bro. Guac was... Fine. Chips were stale, too much lime in the guac, bloody mary was just poorly made and the server was about as friendly as my ex wife. If this was anything except an airport bar, I would be yelling at the manager for a refund

It is decent BBQ. The brisket was pretty juicy and I didn't put a drop of sauce on it to enjoy the flavour. The pulled pork was just ok, but much better after a dunk in BBQ sauce. The toast was perfectly buttery. Ordering through QR code was super simple. Country music is not my thing and they have it blaring at high volume. No problem with noise cancelling headphones, and since you can order via QR code, no need to listen.

We ordered beer (16 oz for $11, pretty typical for premium craft beer in a US airport) and split a pulled pork plate with baked beans and green beans ($24.99). The pork tasted great, though a fair amount of it was fat that we couldn’t eat. We loved both kinds of beans. We’ve been here before, and it was just about what we remembered. We will come again. Do be aware that when you walk up and sit at the bar expecting to order, the bartenders may not immediately acknowledge you. This is because you order and prepay on your phone using the QR code at your seat. It may take a few minutes before your drinks arrive. Once the staff started engaging, they were friendly and helpful. I do wish they would greet us on arrival, as it sets a rather impersonal tone.

Was running to my flight to catch it when I realized I had two hours to burn, so decided to stop here to grab a drink. I ordered a mule and lemme tell you: IT WAS STRONG! So I'll forgive them for serving it in a glass and not its usual copper mug. I finished maybe a third of it before I was feeling a little TOO good. I also ordered a slice of pecan pie and they gave me two. Bless you waitstaff of Q bar for getting me drunk and giving me a sugar rush so that I could rest easily on my flight home!

This was an atrocious experience. If you're looking for even a decent dine-in spot before your flight, absolutely avoid Q Bar. The service was horrendous- waiter wobbles around like he didn't sleep for a week, messed up my order, there's little interaction because it's all through a QRC-website, and you've gotta try flagging people down and they are quick to move away and onto something else. The food was greasy as hell- you can see how much grease they were saturating the grill with. Best choice on the menu was beer and even that wasn't worth it. Overpriced rubbish was atrocious service. Walk away and thank me.

Stopped here for a drink and a snack. We got to the airport about six hours before our flight. This place was perfect for a long wait. We had the ability to relax and plug-in There were several tables in the area with electrical that you could hang out at for long periods of time without inconveniencing other travelers. The food was average. We had nachos which consisted of chips, queso, sour cream, pico de gallo and guacamole. The service was fast and our server was attentive.

Garbage.... Worse $50 I've ever spent. I've ate plenty of Texas bbq and not sure WTF this is. Worst tasting beans, dry coleslaw ‍, warm beer, served 2 coronas that were skunked and no limes, bartender clearly had better places that she wanted to at.... Garbage doesn't even start to describe it.

Fail !! Fail !! Fail !!! The worst bbq ever, hands down. Everything was dry. Wings were inedible. Dry and reheated made wings in a flat top. Just terrible. No service, just figure it out yourself. I didn't order chopped brisket, they advertised brisket slices on their menu and give you pre packaged dry chopped meat. So unappealing. What a waste of money. You just ruined Texas bbq. For shame !!!

First, don't get intimidated by this place. Just scan the QR code and you can order drinks and food. Otherwise, staff is more than willing to help. Ordered 4 meat. Fried Jalapeño with pulled pork. All tastes very good. Nice and quiet bar with outlets to charge.

IAH AIRPORT / AMERICAN / 11-15-22 / DINNER +Loaded Baked Potatoes and BBQ Sandwiches. +It looks like a spin-off of the Q Smokehouse. +You can watch the cook make your food. -The grill and food prep areas are wide open, and don't look too sanitary. -Super high foot traffic depending on the time of day. Skip it and go to Bam Bam or Embers, which is a 3-5 minute walk towards gates C4 - C15.

Ordered Food, it came quick a bit pricy but it is the Airport, however my plane is delayed 4 hours and I already have a 3 hour layover. The least United Air can do is give me more than $20 come onnnnn...... So poor! At least the music is good.

Ok bbq choice for airport layover. A sampler plate costs $30 plus. It's not bad, but just not to Texas standard I guess.

I got a Bloody Mary and a breakfast burrito, with tip it was nearly $50USD. The Bloody Marry was tiny, but okay. The atmosphere is good though. Follow up the burrito cam out, mind its $17.00 it came with eggs and cheese and a small amount or jalapeño. When ordering from the menu you have to open the menu item to add meat, it doesn't come with any... for $17.00

Horrible prices, mediocre food, slow service, rude staff. I'd give it a zero if that was an option

The brisket was dry, most of the meats on the platter were cold. Additionally, the meat platter states that you may "choose a side", but no choice was provided.

Awful...out of the places we messed up. Nachos with canned chicken. Regular bread with a some weird seasoning, is definitely not jalapeño cornbread.

The sliders were delicious! The bread was perfectly toasted and the brisket was tender and juicy. I had to get extra bbq sauce on the side but that might be bc I like it extra saucy. I wish the sliders came with fries instead of chips but the sliders were still very satisfying. I ate two and took the last one to go. Glad I ate here before my flight! It was worth the $25 price tag.

Houston airport has a lot of contenders when it comes to getting a fast casual meal. Somewhere between the high-end sit down and fast food is Q bar. This was the only accessible restaurant with Texas BBQ and a quick open bar to park your luggage. The menu is limited and you have to order through a clunky pay as you order machine, although I was sitting at an open bar with ample staff. My iced tea was made quickly and to order without sugar. The sandwich was presented on a toasted and buttered brioche bun which made it feel fresher as it was clear the brisket was already cooked and set aside for serving. The gray onions brightened the flavor and added a bit of moisture that was needed. The chips were a nice accompaniment and completed the meal, making it just filling enough for a hungry woman. I'd recommend going by yourself or in a small group as there is limited seating. It's no frills, but when you want Texas BBQ, it's just right for on the go!

Pain in the ass app that takes too long that you have to order through. I got the beef brisket plate and the brisket sucked was not good at all the sides were OK. Oh yeah, there were no to go. Forks barbecue sauce had run out I should've gone to Pappasito's. How do you do bad brisket in Texas?

Used to stop at Cousins BBQ for loaded potatoes before they remodeled the airport and made everything a bit higher end. Was at Houston international for a layover and stopped here for a quick dinner. Ordered a loaded baked potato with chopped brisket. Sat at the counter and it came out pretty fast. The potato was huge and portions of toppings were generous and tasty. Price was not bad for the airport. I think my total with tax and tip came out to about $20. Definitely will stop back again next time I'm in the airport.

I sat down at the table, scanned menu. I was looking through the drinks. A waiter came over very rude saying we can't sit at the table if we aren't ordering. When I was clearly looking at the menu. Instead of ordering I decided to leave because why would I spend my money somewhere I feel I'm not welcomed. Two gentleman sat at the same table and she treated them better then she treated us.. This is not a place I would recommend!

I was surprised by the quality and quantity of food As with all airport restaurants and bar every thing was overpriced. We had a huge brisket baked potato and the rubbed wings plus some cocktails. Nice atmosphere and hang between flights.

Remarkably mediocre food, lackluster service, and insanely overpriced for a cold plate. Would not recommend to travelers.

The absolute worst of any airport bar I've ever been in...and I've been around. Staff was horrible and dismissive. Wanted one glass of wine. 25 Minutes later I had to ask a food runner where the bar tender went. When I asked to cancel the order she told me I had to go back on line and do it myself. Avoid the hassle, avoid Q Bat TX BBQ!!!!

I was so nervous about eating here after reading the reviews, but after checking the prices and items on other menus, I risked it for the brisket. The gentlemen with amazing dreads that helped me told me exactly what to get and I was not disappointed. The brisket was great (different than what I am used to - it was more tough but still had flavor) and the coleslaw and beans were killer. I wish the brisket had been more tender but that's my only real complaint. Can we talk about the flavor of these beans for a minute though?! I am picky. And a health nut. But I was craving meat today (wayyy too long of a travel day) and beans usually aren't cooked long enough for me. These were sensational. Maybe the best baked beans I've had?? Well, at least in the last 2 years. Don't know about the ambiance because I'm that person that took it to-go for the plane to piss off everyone else with food smells (or taunt them?). I wasn't the only one with to-go bbq either so that made me feel good. Definitely could have used a strong spicy margarita for the final touch. I'm done, just go for it and get the bbq.

Service was horrible. Waitress didn't listen to our order. She throw a way my drink, I ask her to put it in to go box. She grow it a way. I'm not recommended it

outrageous price! they make you tip when you order and I paid $10 for one cup of beans. if they weren't in an airport they would not be in business. a complete rip off.
