The Technology Ruins Everything
The burger was actually good. The hazy IPA was solid. The waitress was pleasant and trying her best. So why one star? Because OTG has created the most dystopian, soul-crushing dining experience imaginable.
Picture this: I'm sitting at a table. A waitress is standing RIGHT NEXT TO ME, ready to help. But instead of just telling her what I want like a normal human interaction, I have to pull out my phone, navigate to some clunky browser-based ordering system, hunt through menus on a tiny screen, and tap buttons while she awkwardly hovers nearby knowing this is ridiculous.
It's not hospitality. It's not efficient. It's just depressing.
Someone at OTG looked at the simple pleasure of ordering food from another person and thought, "How can we make this as impersonal, awkward, and unnecessarily complicated as possible?" Mission accomplished.
The food and service staff deserve better than this system. I deserve better than this system. We all do. This isn't innovation—it's a solution desperately searching for a problem that never existed.
If you're at IAH Terminal B and have literally any other option, take it. The technology here isn't the future. It's a warning.
