Don’t get iced lattes here, almost $10 for a water down drink, second time I get it. I honestly want my money back and depending on the employee they’re just not serviceable and throwing in the ingredients in a careless manner. (Some know what they’re doing, others look like they haven’t been trained).. I’ve gotten the hot cappuccino here and I’ve liked it, the only reason I gave it 3 stars + the ambiance of the place is nice. Having those prices though, service and quality should be top notch.

Genuinely excellent coffee house. Great for studying and I’m really happy it’s open so late. Nothing better than being caffeinated with a delicious pot of coffee or chai. Can get busy.

Qahwah House is a great spot for authentic Yemeni coffee! The coffee is rich, aromatic, and perfectly brewed, and the pastries are fresh and delicious. Cozy atmosphere with friendly staff — perfect for relaxing or catching up with friends.

Beautiful and spacious with a second floor and amazing drinks and dessert. Love the place. On broadway between 111th and 112th streets close to Columbia University. The 1 train is right there and the 110th street cathedral stop is here to get here. Super convenient and I enjoyed every part of this experience, including the dessert. It was exquisite.

I come here regularly to get some work done and have some coffee. Drinks hit or miss but more hit than miss. I've gone several times now and one time my drink tasted like a dirty dishwasher but every other time it was great.

The place to be! I recommend the Sabaya, it’s like a soft, flakey thin bread with honey drizzled on top. So good!

A unique coffee experiences in New York. Qahwah House brings Yemeni coffee culture to life with its cozy, vaulted wood interior and rich sensory experience. I tried the Mofawar—a Yemeni-style spiced coffee served in a beautiful little pot. The flavor is delicate, almost tea-like, creamy, with a gentle toasted spice note that lingers. What’s remarkable is how long the pot keeps the coffee warm. Highly recommended if you haven’t tried before.

Qahwah is definitely my favorite coffee shop in the Morningside Heights area. It’s open until later, costs about as much as Starbucks but it’s much much better. I love their brown sugar latte, absolutely perfect!

IYKYK what a gem this Yemeni tea and coffee house is. Nestled on the west side of Broadway in Morningside Heights, this surprisingly spacious two-floor establishment is manned by hard-working and respectful workers, serving up Middle-Eastern beverages and sweet and savory pastries. You're given a light-up coaster to alert you when your order is ready so there's no one yelling out your name like a savage. It's pin-drop quiet on both floors during off-peak hours despite all the people who use this place as a remote working location. The free wifi is reliable and there's plenty of tables, seating, and outlets. Soothing Yemeni music piped throughout the first level and thoughtful adornments give an exotic-getaway vibe without feeling contrived. Definitely check this place out!

It was a very cold day and we were craving some hot coffee . I am a big fan of yamani coffee and that's what I ordered - it was delicious ! Very flavourful and yummy . Atmosphere was also nice , with many Columbia students around . We also got the cheese cake which was pretty bad - not recommended . Focus on the coffee !

I'm in intrigued. I can't wait to visit again to actually stay and dine in. So far the chai tea I ordered from here was exceptional. The spices and flavors were so delicious, it was really giving me more of a dirty chai taste but still with a taste to remember. It left me with wanting to try the coffee immediately. The customer service was great and the whole vibe of the place was amazing. I just can't wait to go visit and try more of their selection of drinks and pastries. I'm giving thumbs up. Happy Yelping!

How is it that I've only gone to this place now after 9 months of working in the area! Really wonderful spot, nice vibe. Great place to study or catch up with folks. I have to be honest, I'm not sure which iced latte I chose, I just knew there was a mix of turmeric and cardamom! It looked good on the flyer and tasted even better!

Tons of seating and has an upstairs with more seating! Great wifi so it's not surprising that there were plenty of students working here on the weekend. The chai is SO GOOD. strong and rich. I tried their pastry which was flaky layers with honey, not too sweet but fun to try! probably will not get it again. Wish this place was closer to me so I could frequent!

Stopped here for a quick bite after my workout. I loved their play on the iced brown sugar shaken espresso - super delish but def on the sweeter side.

I was in the area and needed coffee and the line WASN'T out the door so I came in. What a gem! They had intriguing coffee flavors and also a seasonal menu, so I tried one of those. You can order coffee hot or iced. I also tried a pastry. The cashier was very helpful. He advised the person in front of me about different types of teas. He asked me if I was a student and I said, "Not anymore!" and he gave me the student discount anyway. So nice! The coffee was delicious, so was the pastry, and the ginger shot was healthy and I'm glad they have water available with small cups because I needed it after the ginger shot. There is plenty of seating and a bathroom in the back. I loved my experience here.

Bustling cafe serving up Yemeni style teas, coffees, and desserts. The cafe is surprisingly spacious with seating on both first and second floors, which makes it a great spot to catch up with friends, study, or get some work done. We loved that we could order a pot of chai to share based off of their recommended serving size (their large pot is meant to serve 3-4 people, which was spot on). We tried the Adeni Chai and it was delicious - it's a strong, rich milk tea spiced with cardamom and nutmeg. The chai was great on its own but would also go nicely with a sweet treat. Overall a nice little cafe, will have to try their coffees next time!

Came here with a friend while visiting New York. He had said he passed this place all the time but had yet to be inside so why not check it out. I was firstly taken with the interior! More traditional coffee house vibe than a lot of places are today. They had tons of cozy seating, warm light, tables with enough space to do work, downstairs and upstairs seating, etc. I also loved that people were happily socializing and it was a nice volume, rather than dead quiet or overwhelmingly loud. My only issue was the wait time. I ordered a strawberry matcha, which came out the perfect texture and bitterness of the matcha paired with the sweetness of the strawberry mixture, BUT it took over ten minutes to come out. They give you a buzzer after you order and an ETA but it took both longer than estimated. My friend loved his coffee, and will be back, but definitely a place to avoid if you're in a rush!

September 2024 Food/Pricing - Adeni Chai - absolutely delicious. Would definitely order it again. Service/Ambiance - The places plenty of seating and from what I saw two floors. It can get pretty packed as people are studying or just hanging out to enjoy some tea. The staff are super nice and patient. They were very informative when it came to explaining their drinks and quick to accommodate if you needed adjustments with your drink. Highly recommend this place!

Delicious coffee and pastries! Somehow plenty ofbseating despite how busy it was. Wonderful people watching. Very chill place and very good service.

Yemen coffee house. The smell of spices and the Middle Eastern music transport you from the bustle of NYC for a moment. The pistachio latte is amazing. They offer a variety of traditional savory and sweet Middle Eastern breads and pastries.

Good coffee especially if you like Cardamon in yours. (I didn't -- so they just made me a drip one). Lots of seating both upstairs and down so during the week it wasn't crowded. They have pastries too -- but no breakfast. Next time will try the Pistachio Latte -- love ANYTHING with pistachio. Popular with Columbia students but wasn't noisy. A/C was working pretty good on a hot day.

The best coffee/tea in the area!! Love Qahwah house. I always order to go but the interior is so pleasant to work/read/hang out in.

Various Yemeni coffee and tea severe. I've tried both. Apologetically I cannot remember the names but the coffee I've had was very good --bold with spices behaving the flavor; and tea also very good--very aromatic enhanced with spices which i enjoyed. The ample seating is great. Note the majority of seating is up a flight of stairs. Service is always friendly. It can be a touch slow if you're in a rush to get something to go. A nice addition to the neighborhood.

I do not like offering a bad opinion of an establishment, however, with the price of going out in today's market, if you are not a top notch service provider, people need to know. With that said, I patronized this establishment yesterday. I met a friend for a coffee catch up at 9:30 AM. The shop is huge with an upstairs level as well as the main street level. It was clean and not very busy at the time. The ambiance was loud with Columbia students talking at the top of their lungs over the middle eastern music that was playing. Not a great experience to have a morning coffee with loud music and conversations. We ordered and decided to sit upstairs. While ordering, a line of customers began to form and only two men were manning the entire counter. Neither one of them was good at managing the workload that a rush of customers brought. As a result, I noticed other customers who ordered after us were receiving their coffees. So I approached the counter again. One of the coffees I ordered was sitting on the counter getting cold. The other one was forgotten and I had to ask again for it to be made. When I finally sat down to drink my coffee, it was full of grounds and I had to spit it out. Quite a horrific surprise. I ended up not drinking my coffee, returning it to the counter and let both men know it was full of grounds. I did not receive a refund or another cup of coffee. I simply left. If you need a to-go regular cup of American coffee go to Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts. If you are looking for a cozy catch-up with a friend go to THINK Coffee. These might be chains but never had grounds in a cup from these establishments. Qahwah House dropped the ball on product AND customer service. I never have to patronize this establishment again....

Not sure whether to give them 3 or 4 stars, but I can't give them 5. Let's call it 3.5 and round down. The main thing I like about Qahwah in Morningside Heights is that they are the only coffee shop in the area that is open late. Everybody else, even the one crummy Starbucks nearby, is closed by 8 p.m. Sorry, but I like to go out for a decent cup of coffee after dinner and chill out 'til 10. The place is large and most of the time is stuffed with Columbia students and some faculty. Personally, I have no problem with the noise; it's easy enough to listen to some music in my buds and ignore everyone else. It's only been a problem a couple times (like today) when parents have been there with 10-12 year-old badly behaved boys that the other clientele bothered me. The one thing that ticks me off is that when I'm paying for coffee, some of their staff hit me with a 4% service charge even though I ALWAYS pay in cash. If there' a service charge for something other than paying by credit card, I'd like to know what the heck it is. The difference is only about a quarter, but it just seems a petty thing to do.

I have exclusively had a good time here. Went about five times within a week of it opening, and it's always a relaxing time. Chai is heavenly, as are some of the desserts. Catch me there literally whenever, because that's when I'll be there.

Similar to other Qahwah Houses in NYC, same menu and general vibes. Very warm inside! Nice for the cold and windy days. Only complaint is how close all the tables and seats are to one another. You barely have any space to push back a chair or you push the person siting directly behind you. What a waste of space if you can't even sit nice! There is a sink in the back to wash your hands which is a nice addition.

Everything here is amazing. The people are equally excellent to the food I cannot wait to be back!
