QED Coffee Review - Queen Anne - Seattle - The Infatuation

"QED has great lattes and bright, colorful tables that make rainy days suck a little less than usual. They also serve food in the mornings like breakfast tacos and biscuits and sausage gravy. Use it if you need to get some work done near the Space Needle." - Aimee Rizzo

QED Coffee - Review - Mount Baker - Seattle - The Infatuation

"QED is a really tiny spot that roasts their own coffee beans. And by tiny, we’re talking maybe 12 seats, tops. Which means if you secure a table in here to get some work done, it’s acceptable to ditch your second oat milk latte for a can of celebratory sparkling wine. And yes, sparkling wine definitely pairs well with a piece of banana bread." - Aimee Rizzo

Google
Great shop with great employees what care about what they do and your experience. It's a small company with only 2 locations and that make all of their own pastries. Not sure if it's the same with the breakfast items but they are very tasty. They also have a very easy to use loyalty program that is generous in is pay outs. So if you're tired of the big chains this place is welcome change of pace

Google
A small and cozy spot to get coffee and quick bites. Very friendly atmosphere with beautiful local arts on the wall. The staff was very polite and efficient. I ordered the chai. They make their own chai concentrate here. It was delicious. The seatings are limited but sturdy tables and warm air are all I need to spend a good couple of hours painting.

Google
Great coffee shop with amazing coffee, and a real cool vibe inside with lots of plants and more seating than most coffee shops around Seattle. Great food too!

Google
It is a tiny family run cafe place. i loved the leek sandwich there. It was out of this world. The owners looks looks nice and somehow friendly. I would always go there for this egg leek sandwich. I am not a coffee person so I didn’t try any of their coffee menu items. The location is hard to reach ( lots of going around) though if u r coming from mercer island.

1. Coffee (supposed to be dark roast drip) was barely as good as coffee from hotel room 2. Terrible parking

Google
Q.E.D. (acronym for Latin phrase "quod erat demonstrandum" which is typically found at the end of a mathematics or philosophy problem and loosely means in English - this completes the proof or to show that something is proven) is a local neighborhood cafe offering espresso beverages, tea, hot chocolate, breakfast sandwiches, muffins, scones, etc.; service was not cordial to me for some reason but friendly to others; support your local small businesses 👍

Google
Wonderful local coffee. Smooth flavor in my 8oz dbl shot latte. So delicious and very friendly staff.

Google
Just Google the closet coffee shop and enjoyed myself. FRIENDLY BARISTA . Will be back!!! Great hot chocolate

Yelp
I only got a chai latte, but it was delicious and I'd absolutely go again for it. The barista who took my order was really nice and even offered to make me a little sample to try first. Great chai and great service.

Yelp
The coffee was just ok. Extremely strong so much so that it takes the taste away when used with Matcha and other syrups in lattes. I wouldn't recommend coming here if you are looking for great tasting coffee.

Yelp
Love this adorable coffee shop! I had one of the best lattes I've had in a while here. Loved the cozy and welcoming vibe and it's in a very nice location. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Cute little shop with tons of street parking, shop itself is little so not ideal for big groups. Service is friendly and quick. I got a drip with a splash of oatmilk and my friend got a latte and said it was delicious.

Gregg K.

Yelp
A wonderful little coffee spot with an equally wonderful owner. The various coffees are strong and delicious, and some unusual flavorings such as pistachio cardamom are offered. The premade sandwiches are surprisingly tasty. This is a very cool, laid back spot to unwind.

Yelp
The honey and I stopped into QED between the community garden and Colman beach. The service was friendly and I loved the musical stylings of OutKast as we ordered me a LaCroix and the honey a scone and coffee. I used the very clean facilities and came out to help enjoy the delicious flaky scone as we sat in the window and enjoyed the view. The space had two sets of seating outside and two window sets of seats inside as well, so it doesn't feel small or cramped. All in all, we enjoyed our stop in and would definitely come back.

Yelp
Dirtiest, hottest, tastiest homemade chai I have ever had!! My friend took me to QED after landing at SeaTac after raved about their chai. I'm not a coffee drinker so this was the best option and holy moly, she was not kidding. This chai was absolute fire! You could really taste the ginger and spices in the drink and it was clearly not from a carton. They also have a variety of baked goods and sandwiches. The staff pointed out their vegan muffin which was perfectly baked to fluffy perfection. Grab your drink and baked goods to enjoy the view outside of the city. They even brought out our food across the street for us knowing we were hanging out outside. Major props to the team for the service. Plus, there are some small tables and window seating with plugs if you need to do a bit of work for a few hours. Their wifi game is strong and I am grateful for QED for being my first Seattle pitstop this time around.

Yelp
Service was quick easy and very helpful! The vibes and energy of this cute little quaint coffee shop is very much twlight like Bella on new moon looking outside the window. I got a chai which was super yummy! Parking can be a bit tricky but it's not bad

Yelp
Small space perfect for a coffee and/or pastry/snack pickup! Saw some breakfast sandwiches in there too. Got a hemp Milk Latte ($5.50) - first time trying hemp milk, it was so creamy! Espresso was great. Staff is very friendly!
google avatar

Keri N.

Yelp
Nice little coffee shop and great coffee with a small pastry selection as well. I got a short latte and stayed to work for a little bit. It is on the small side and can get busy but the environment and staff/service were good. I would come back again!
google avatar

Laura L.

Yelp
I got a drip coffee and butter croissant - both were excellent. Friendly staff, and supporting local artists.

Yelp
Stopped by today to try one of their house made syrup lattes and it was delicious. The seasonal Orgeat syrup is wonderful. Hopefully it gets enough love from the community and stays on the menu in the long run. Highly recommend this place. John being super helpful and nice was also a big bonus which is why it was a 5 star experience today!

Yelp
Sadly the first hill location is closed as of 11/3. Always liked this place though I suppose I didn't go often enough. Definitely will have to check out the other location !

Yelp
QED has turned into a walk up to-go window. The negative is you're not sure who is in line and who is waiting for their coffee, and the sidewalk is not very wide (not their fault). You place your order at their window and pay, then stand back and wait for your name to be called. They have delicious coffee I love their americano it tastes so creamy and smooth.

Yelp
I find this cafe on too good to go,and only use a little money for a bunch of variety choice. English muffin with egg and cheddar cheese was realy soft and fresh. Brownie is filled with sunflower seed and walnut, The sweetness is perfect. I hate cake with too much sweet. And the scone is fantastic with milk smell and crispy outside with gentle moisture inside.
google avatar

Laurie K.

Yelp
Coffee is very good. The two people serving on Saturday mornings are very customer oriented, organized, and the wait is not very long. Various pastry are delicious! Price is higher than average but not so expensive to be unaffordable. Small space that is busy in the mornings, you won't be having any private conversations here. :-)

Yelp
This place is super cute, super small, super friendly baristas, great coffee. There is some seating here (some two tops and very limited window bar seating) but it doesn't feel like a working cafe given its size. Fantastic option if you're doing a morning walk and need to do a stop for coffee, or if you're just looking for a quick neighborhood barista-made espresso.

Yelp
Spiced latte was awesome after a good game of tennis at AYTC. The view from there is also beautiful.

Shiva J.

Yelp
BRING YOUR OWN MUG! These cups and lids are horrible. Coffee spilling all over and dripping from the lid, even when the cup was almost empty. And my jacket is now riddled with coffee stains. Please consider shopping for better material. Bad enough to not go back.
google avatar

Yelp
I went here for the first time a little bit ago, and the coffee I got was very well made, and the worker was very kind. Thanks

Yelp
Stopped by today on a walk and noticed the apple fritters in the window. About half size of Top Pot. Got them to go. Just had them and very happy with our choice. Had some chunks of apple and right balance of everything else. For me also the perfect sized. The shop was a window walk up now and looks like they have turned it into a nice convenience store almost. Need hand sanitizer? Bottle of wine? Seems like a nice place for the neighborhood.

Yelp
Some of the best cold brew I've ever had! It was easy to find and there was plenty of parking nearby.
google avatar

Jeff H.

Yelp
The place is really cute and quint. The girl working on this quiet Saturday afternoon was friendly, and the two patrons enjoying their coffee while working and/or reading seemed to be in favor of the atmosphere. We got a couple of 12oz Americanos to go and I thought they were very tasty. The only issue with the Americanos were the price. I really thought this place was pretty expensive for what it is, and while the coffee was good it was not something I couldn't get elsewhere for much cheaper. I don't think I'll go back unless I'm really in a pinch for caffeine.
google avatar

Yelp
Good coffee and service. Unfortunately there is no restroom - so if you are looking for a place to meet someone and hang out - keep searching.
google avatar

Marina P.

Yelp
Came here since it was close to where we were meeting friends. Not disappointed on pricing and the quality of the coffee. Got their seasonal flavors (salted caramel and pumpkin), tasted way better than Starbucks.

Yelp
GED is such a quaint little coffee shop embedded nicely in the neighborhood. There's very minimal seating inside the store, but when it's nice out, they have some chairs outside that makes for a comfy spot to enjoy the sun and get some work done on your laptop. Your standard coffee menu on a blackboard above the counter, and the gentleman at the counter was nice as well. Not too busy, but I've seen some regulars. It's a bit out of the way, but if you're in the neighborhood , give this gem of a coffee spot a try!!

Yelp
I usually come to this location after brunch up the street when I'm visiting my dad in the south end. I visit cause I like QED but I don't often get to go to either locations cause they're not really close to work or home. This location is about the quarter of the size of the one near Seattle but it doesn't take away from its charm or the service. It's perfect for Mt Baker, I love that they make their own syrups I don't usually get syrup added to my latte but I enjoy getting them here cause there is usually a unique seasonal flavor. I had an 8oz oat milk latte this morning with their pumpkin caramel flavor. Love that it wasn't overly sweet or smack in your face overly pumpkin. People who love pumpkin spice may not like it cause it is so subtle but that's what I like about it.

Yelp
We were in the area looking to kill some time, and we ran across this spot on yelp! This is a really neat little coffee shop tucked away in an off the beaten path neighborhood. The interior decor is quite well done, and it has a really great feel. The employees are also very nice. Even though there were people waiting in line, the barista took the time to explain all of the different tea options to my daughter. I love this "treat every customer well" attitude! They have assorted pastries, bagels, juices, and their own home roasted coffee for sale, in addition to the usual types of drinks. Overall, I would make it a point to stop by this place if you are in the neighborhood!!
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
I am really digging QED's tiny little to-go coffee / tiny corner store (eggs!!) setup. Also, they sell ground coffee online (and at the store, I assume?), so we also now make our own QED coffees at home. This is no replacement for picking up my coffee at QED on the way to work (sigh), but this is still pretty neat.
google avatar

Mary R.

Yelp
The first time I went here the barista was super rude and it was so sad bc the coffee was SO good. I got a dirty chai. I took a chance and went back again and I am so glad I did. Every other barista lit up my day. I have tried their cafe au lait, latte, and americano and their coffee is delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is MARVELOUS! I love supporting local, small businesses. The shop itself is clean, sleek, and modern. The art is local and beautiful. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. It wasn't just a cup of coffee--it was an experience. (Oddly, this is what Howard Schultz wanted to create in 1971 with Starbucks--QEB don't be like Starbucks!) TIP: If you're in the area--GO HERE and keep locals who deserve to be in business, IN BUSINESS. Take the extra 5 mins to get out of your car instead of getting a cookie cutter made without love cup of Joe from some random drive through. If you LOVE coffee, this is your be all end all.
google avatar

Teresa R.

Yelp
Wow! They even have oat milk!! Haven't found another coffee shop in Seattle that is this progressive and the espresso is amazingly smooth ands unacidic. The barista was very friendly and talented!
google avatar

Yelp
A true neighborhood coffee shop with hipster flair. Great coffee, friendly service, and a handful of pastries to top it off. Small inside seating area with about 5-6 tables, plus a few benches outside. Wonderful views of the lake just around the corner and views of the city (on a clear day) across the street. The "rewards" card is really a pre-loaded gift card - when you load and use like cash you get 10% off. Great option if your in the neighborhood. Cheers!

Yelp
Here I am, a non-coffee drinker, writing a review about a coffee shop. Well, in my defense, they do offer some non-coffee-drinks AND they have good pastries. Also, everyone I went with LOVES their coffee and they get super busy during "rush hour" and on the weekends. Everyone in there is super nice and I like that they have outside seating!
google avatar

Jeffrey L.

Yelp
Such a cute little coffee shop. I. Would come here more often if it was closer! It has a small community Cafe vibe. Came here on earthday and it was finally sunny for once this spring. It's pretty small, only a few seats in side. A section of retail products and coffee beans. I saw that they also have a coffee siphon system. Pretty cool. The batista was very friendly and was kind to explain the number of shots pulled for a 12oz Americano. The Americano was good. The shots pulled were just a little over extracted. But still a good cup. The outside chairs are so adorable. Perfect on a sunny day. I wanted to get a pastry but we came later in the day and they looked like it was sold down, and pretty empty. Next time! I definitely want to come here and enjoy the views of Seattle on a sunny day.

Yelp
Employees are talking each other so loudly and never turn on the A/C. So unprofessional. Also so many bugs and flies. Never go back.
google avatar

Roxanne G.

Yelp
Amazing coffee for your average joe consumer. However, for the people who don't like "strong coffee" maybe not ideal. I highly recommend to try then chill out across the street to Mt. Baker Ridge Viewpoint and listen to the birds while sipping on your cup of joe.
google avatar

Alex F.

Yelp
Pricey latte didn't taste good. This may be one of the only small coffee shops in Seattle that makes a bad latte than Starbucks.
google avatar

Estrella L.

Yelp
They have oat milk, need I say more? J/K Found this little coffee shop across the street from the amazing Mt. Vernon viewpoint for sunsets. The shop itself offered a variety of pastries and in shop tacos. The espresso was smooth so it was amazing. My favorite part was that the 12 oz latte comes with 2 shots! It's a bit small inside so seating is limited. However, there's a few seats out front. I will be coming back for coffee and sunsets.
google avatar

Yelp
This coffee house is adorable. I had a soy latte with their housemade pumpkin caramel syrup and it was delicious. My friend got a mocha. Everything about the place is stylish. I loved sipping coffee there and looking out the window.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent oat milk latte and apple cinnamon. In addition the staff was friendly and helpful! Well setup environment for chatter and studying. Lovely location and has some interesting are works for sale (consignments). Overall, good experience and drinks.

Yelp
My favorite coffee stop while I was staying in Seattle. Get your cup of coffee and enjoy the views of Seattle from the Mt.Baker Ridge viewpoint which is right across the street.
google avatar

Camie T.

Yelp
Love this coffee shop. Staff are friendly. Wifi is fast. On-street parking is plentiful with no time limit restrictions. Good music. Nice breeze. Great views of downtown Seattle from the overlook directly across the road. Best of all, coffee is amazeballs. Pastries and pre-made sandwiches and salads are available. They also serve wine and beer.
google avatar

Yelp
Such good coffee and great service!! The cashier was so friendly, not much to say about a coffee shop but a lovely experience

Yelp
Was looking for a coffee shop in the area before making a long drive and was fortunate enough to stumble upon QED. A cozy shop in a quiet part of town, QED serves delicious coffee and some decent pastries. I opted for a regular coffee, which was flavorful. Also got a ginger scone which was way better than I expected - do wish it could've been warmed up, but it was stlil good regardless. A great place to get coffee and chill.
google avatar

Magnus V.

Yelp
Dope little place. Great coffee and service. Not much seating space tho, so get there early!
google avatar

Flozilla B.

Yelp
I will climb two flights of steep stairs just for the dirty chai here! In fact while attending machine knitting school in the Emerald City, I did. Nearly every day for two weeks. It was worth it...and even after 8 hours of knitting, I would come here for more chai and guess what? knit. The bench fit my frame and felt like a home away from home. Plus....hardly any laptops in sight! I love that. Seattle has a vast amount of caffeine offerings, true. QED Coffee quickly became my favorite little coffee shop in Seattle while I visited. This place just has the vibe I love. Good music. Friendly staff. Educated owner (who is very passionate about the roasting process from a conversation we had) and excellent coffee! Highly recommended. Try the dirty chai...it's house made chai (not the icky box kind) with some damn fine espresso lovingly poured over.
google avatar

Brianna G.

Yelp
This place just opened up and after attending an appointment next door I thought I would give it a shot. It was well worth it! Every day they have fresh pastries which sell out pretty fast if you don't get there early! I got a spinach cheese roll. It was awesome. I also opted for the fresh ginger chia tea which was perfect for my thirst on a hot sunny Seattle day. I would recommend giving this place a try!

Yelp
Excellent coffee, friendly and skilled baristas, and nice cozy atmosphere! Perfect neighborhood spot!
