As a fellow Mexican, I couldn’t be more satisfied and thrilled to have this authentic Mexican restaurant that makes me feel like home (in Boulder). I had their pozole and carne asada fries and they were phenomenal. The pozole’s meat was tender and the broth was tasty. The fries were crispy and the carne asada well seasoned. This is a family owned business that started as a food truck selling antojitos (cravings/snacks). The owner Javier recently opened up this new location after closing the snack shop close by. This is a much more elevated space and menu. It now has a brunch menu and more typical Mexican dishes like birria, tamales, tortas, huaraches, and it will eventually serve alcohol (margaritas, cantaritos, Palomas). I am so proud of this local business. I know it will thrive because it has authenticity, heart and soul.

I was excited to try the strawberry horchata (which was easily some of the best I've ever had)! The quesabirria was delicious and filling. The salsas were also fantastic. I finished the meal with a beautiful and decadent flan. Javier, the owner, was attentive to my needs and made sure that all customers who came in were satisfied. There were so many wonderful things on the menu, including Mexican street foods and brunch items (served all-day). I will absolutely be making this one of my regular spots anytime I visit Boulder!

Absolutely amazing! I took a chance on a new place on a whim and was literally back the very next day because I couldn’t stop thinking about how fresh and delicious the food was. The tortillas had that home-made taste that I’ve only had before in restaurants where you can watch them being made right there in the restaurant. Insanely delicious. I got the street tacos (both times) and everything was fantastic. The spicing on the adobo was particularly complex and delicious. While I’m usually a carnivore, I got one of the veggie tacos along with the meat and I was delighted. Sometimes, in some restaurants, you get the feeling like vegetarian options are an afterthought. Not at all the case here! The veggies were juicy, succulent, and flavourful. When I’m eventually done obsessing with their tacos, I can’t wait to try the birria ramen. And my goodness are these some of the nicest folks. They just opened at this spot, so come on by, congratulate them on their opening, and treat yourself.

Looking for a good street taco while in Denver and decided to try this place. Service was great and the food was as well. Nice view of the mountains from the stool seating area. Overall a nice place to grab a quick lunch. They do have a little outdoor seating area, but you'd be sitting almost in the parking lot, and definitely not suitable on hot days like today.

Google
You can tell a lot about the quality of Hispanic food based on how well they prepare and cook their tripe. I can say wholeheartedly and emphatically that this was the most delicious tripe I have ever had. Javier, the owner, took the time to personally greet us and tell us about his restaurant. You can see the passion in his friendliness. His chef did a great job with our dishes. I only regret that I didn't take pictures! Thank you Javier for a great meal!

Google
The food was delicious. Everything was made fresh when we ordered. We also had the cucumber/lime drink. My husband had the tamales and I had the grilled veggie burrito bowl. Exceptional food and drink.

Got some great chilaquiles and enchiladas. Taste was great as well as service. (Red sauce was a bit salty for my taste) but overall great!

Google
We love this local delight and are so excited to see them expanding the concept into their new space! The service is always friendly, the food is always tasty, and I love the relaxed atmosphere. We especially enjoy dropping in to refuel after window shopping all up and down the mall next door.

Yelp
Wonderful staff, fantastic food. They also have outdoor seating. The restaurant was very clean.

Yelp
Great Torta- one of the best I've had. This is a new location and is really nice and clean. Very friendly staff and great salsa bar. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Plenty of seating inside! Came by after dinner for a treat. Got the mangonada. It was more like a mangonada flavored raspado. About 4-5 tiny diced mango cubes on top, and the rest was crushed ice and syrup. I did appreciate the heavily seasoned tajin/chamoy rim and the sour spaghetti candy in it added a terrific chewy texture, and the chamoy and takin seasonings made it nicely spicy salty sweet, but it really is very light on the mango (but maybe this is just how Colorado mangonadas are, since I normally only get them in California) so it felt a bit pricey at $10. Still, I'll be back in the future to try out some of their savory items and try another sweet treat!

Yelp
Our first time here to this New Mexican eatery, and it's charming, delicious, and has super friendly staff. Upon first entering we weren't even sure they sold food beyond Mexican snacks, but we soon found the menu and had so many things we wanted to try it was hard to narrow it down. We decided on an order of Chilaquiles with 2 eggs over easy, a quesabirria, an elote en Vaso and Horchata. The sauces are flavorful and the shredded beef tender and so tasty. We took home enough for another meal as the Chilaquiles are huge. Everything was hot fresh, and delicious! More authentic than other Boulder Mexican restaurants and we will be back to try desserts like raspados (shaved ice) and more meals. Thanks for sharing your story with us as well! It is a family business and we wish all the best!

Yelp
Will probably be the closest to authentic that you will get in Boulder. They are eager to please and definitely fill that. Fair prices. Amazing food. Be sure to dive into the salsa bar. You won't be disappointed. A very personal experience. Give them a try.

Yelp
Amazing food and great service, highly recommended! We got two different types of nachos, the one where you pick out the type of chips was super fun!

Yelp
This is a fun place to get Mexican style snacks. If you're in the mood for exotic sweets or salty, check it out! I want to come back for birria ramen which sounds amazing. It's a nice big place with a view west towards the Flatirons. Counter service.

Yelp
BEST MEXICAN FOOD I'VE HAD in CO!! Wow! Had the chicken burrito- so different than all the other sit down if fast Mexican spots. Reminds me of real deal homemade. Lime.m cucumber drink was awesome too and super friendly and fast service! Don't miss this spot and enjoy the sunny patio too!

Yelp
Started out skeptical about getting good Mexican food. BUT, this place was outstanding. Employees super friendly and made several recommendations. The shrimp ceviche nachos were super tasty. Enough ceviche to cover every chip. The tortes (choice of beef, pork or chicken). It is so big two can share easily. Corn in a cup....wow, wow, wow. Birria tacos super good. The topper - Agua Frescas, can't go wrong. Your choices: Pepino, Fresa, Mango, Pina, Hochata, and Jimiaca.

Yelp
No one is sad eating Mexican food. Came here based on a recommendation and I was pretty great. Tastes like they don't cook with a lot of salt which is nice. I added the green salsa they have at the counter and it brought my plate to a whole other level. Good stuff! I'll try it again.

Alitzy M.

Yelp
Went to order and my boyfriend ordered 5 tostadas, he can definitely eat them , she said "five!?" And made a face so I asked her "are they big or what?" She showed us and they were an average tostada size. He agreed to three and she rang us up. She had no room to judge what we ordered , she only ruined our experience here before we even got to try the food. I'm just confused as to why she was so shocked, did she not want to sell?

Yelp
Really delicious food. Had quesabirrias and they were great, with some really interesting salsas. The included consome soup was tasty as well. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
This place is really good and the perfect in between to fast casual and a great sit down Mexican restaurant. Wasn't sure what to expect first time going in but was impressed and have been getting delicious burritos there over many other options. I brought my coworker the Birria ramen and he loved it. All of our work crew keeps going back for lunches. Definitely go try them out. Its in a very overlooked location next to Five Guys. Its been pretty empty whenever I go but Boulder needs these types of mom and pop business, go support them!

Hannah N.

Yelp
Stumbled on this place while shopping. Almost didn't want to leave a review because it's so good! I got the quesabirria tacos, definite must. It's like a super cheesy Birria taco. I'm blown away, I had two and going back later today for more! The service is phenomenal too, the staff helped me grab the best combo of hot sauce!

Yelp
Good is pretty spot on. The elote is definitely worth trying. Lots of vegetarian options that is also delicious and not bland. And there is a mind blowing salsa bar. This place is getting my business for sure.

Yelp
Que Rico is a very presumptuous name for a restaurant with mediocre food. It's not even "Rico" let alone so rico you would say wow, que rico. We ordered food and it came out 2 minutes later, somewhat warm but obviously pre-Cooked. I haven't been to Taco Bell in 20 years but this seems worse.

Mike C.

Yelp
Birria tacos are pretty good considering it's boulder but wish it wasn't $5 per taco and more less a meal where you can pick a side and drink etc but service is good expect to spend $20 here
google avatar

Jessica T.

Yelp
Good tacos! Yummy salsas and Elote. Can't wait to come back for respados and to try more menu items!

Kiara C.

Yelp
Que Rico is awesome. The staff is so friendly and the food is great! Loved the beverages and Que Rico Plate. This will definitely be a go-to spot for me.

Paul G.

Yelp
A very interesting experience to say the least. The ambiance is not the greatest, however, the selection of Spanish music being played certainly makes up for it. The stellar mountain view offered at the tables outside is ideal for the summer months. The Que Rico bowl is unique with generous portions for the reasonable price. Try the strawberry horchata or watermelon cooler to top off the meal. Definitely will come back for this new twist on Mexican cuisine.

Nick R.

Yelp
Waited 30 minutes for a 10 pound slop tasteless burrito that didn't even hold together, hand got wet from trying to grab it from the bag. Also got smoked out and left with my clothes smelling like a grease trap, you guys should probly fade this joint.

Alex C.

Yelp
Pretty darn good Mexican food for a city that otherwise doesn't have many good options for that. Menu is pretty authentic. Put it this way - 2 frat bros walked in, looked at the menu confused, and left. I take that as a good sign.

Journey S.

Yelp
literally the worst food i've had since i could remember - al pastor is burnt and looks and tastes like dog food idk if they're buying ratings or what

Julia M.

Yelp
Great service. Very friendly. Drinks were amazing. A wide variety of Mexican snacks including crepes and aguas frescos.

Yelp
AMAZING!!! My new favorite. Everything is excellent. Service was great and super friendly. My only regret was not finding out about this place sooner! Love it.

Lauren G.

Yelp
The Birria tacos were pretty good, very expensive, though we are in Boulder. But the mangonada was so bad. It was all ice, and absolutely not worth $10. There were about 5 tiny chunks of mango in the whole thing, and there wasn't even a tamarind straw! And, I ordered it as a pickup order and they left it on the counter to melt instead of leaving it in a freezer.

A L.

Yelp
SUCH NICE PEOPLE!! This is one of the best places I've ever been to buy Mexican snacks. The portions are super fair for the price. The aguas frescas are so good and the fruit is fresh. Their Sandia agua fresca is to die for!! They also have a great ambiance!! The music is fire. Please support this small business they deserve the hype!

Crystal R.

Yelp
Great, fast-casual, super clean, Mexican food place. I didn't try any of their extensive dessert options. Opted for the Chicken Tinga tostada. Service was awesome, food was better, perfectly spiced, felt authentic. I will be back.
google avatar

Megan K.

Yelp
Very nice food and delicious salsa. I ordered the chilaqueles and was very happy with my lunch.

Mike R.

Yelp
This is one of my new favorite Mexican Restaurants in Boulder. Huge fan of the beverages, the burritos, the tortas, the platos, and quesadillas. Shaved ice also awesome. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu. Plus, the staff is so nice!
google avatar

Russell O.

Yelp
Bomb!!! Best Mexican food in Boulder, owner Javier was super personable and let us sample anything we wanted to try.

Yelp
Don't waste your money! I ordered fresas con crema. It was more like a strawberry horchata with small chopped up strawberries. The cup was small for $10. This drink is not worth $10 dollars in my radar. When I left my hair smelled like beef. Never going back! Prices are high for what they serve. They really need to choose weather to sell food or desserts. Places like this that don't have a dedication to one thing & just try to sell everything fail in my opinion.

Sofia Y.

Yelp
I love this place! They have so many different drinks and small plates and deserts! I've had their pork and beef tacos they are amazing! Right now I came back and I'm trying my first açaí bowl and it's delicious! 10/10 recommend!

Stacy L.

Yelp
Great drinks. Quick service and if there is ever an issue the service goes above and beyond.

Andy A S.

Yelp
If you want the best breakfast burrito in Boulder (anytime of the day), eat at Que Rico!

Connor W.

Yelp
3 1/2 stars! I enjoyed the food here, but it was a bit too much grease and cheese-just a warning. I would definitely ask them to go light on the cheese when ordering. Really nice to see another small business in Boulder instead of just a bunch of corporate chains. The ramen was definitely a hit!

Ashley H.

Yelp
Incredible food and service! The elote en vaso was so so good!! We'll definitely return when we're back in Boulder.

Logan A.

Yelp
Amazing service, amazing food. The service here was great and the food was even better. So many options and they gave us many free samples!
