"Earlier this week, Atlanta-based ice cream company Queen of Cream closed its Poncey-Highland shop after one year at Plaza on Ponce, citing 'the devastating effects of Covid-19' on the retail side of the business." - Beth McKibben

"The flagship location of Queen of Cream closed last week after four years in the Old Fourth Ward, What Now Atlanta first reported. The ice cream shop, owned by pastry chef Cora Cotrim, opened on North Highland Avenue in August 2015. Cotrim calls the closure “bittersweet.” The ice cream shop has become a neighborhood staple, but with winter approaching and the lease ending in March, Cotrim says it was “time to close.”" - Beth McKibben

"Queen of Cream, just down the street from breakfast hot spot Highland Bakery in the Old Fourth Ward, serves freshly-made, from-scratch ice cream daily. Try the lavender honeycomb, the cold brew coffee with cocoa nib crunch, or the Tahitian vanilla. The shop offers seasonal flavors like carrot cake as well as vegan options such as the black pearl with vegan coconut ice cream, coconut ash, and chocolate." - Beth McKibben

Stopped by for the first time yesterday and it won't be the last! My husband and I absolutely loved the ice cream flavors we tested, which made it even harder to decide. They had a vegan flavor too, which was delicious! I found out they make all of their ice cream in-house, including the base. WHAT?! CAN THIS PLACE GET ANY BETTER? I ordered the cinnamon oatmeal cookie dough as a milkshake and it was perfect! My husband had a scoop of the deep chocolate and a scoop of the vanilla bean. He said it was the best chocolate flavored ice cream he's ever had. We can't wait to try this place out again and again :)

Not busy on a Saturday night, parking can be a problem but I got lucky to park right in front of the parlor. The space inside is adequate for about 15 people if I recall correctly. Nonetheless, Queen of Cream is a unique ice cream parlor with its creative flavors for the season. I ordered the the Peaches and Bubbles, Lavender and Honeycomb, and Buttermilk Blueberry Buckle (love the alliteration). I cannot begin to describe how real these flavors tasted like the real things they’re named after. Every bite was like I was eating a peach from the Peaches and Bubbles and eating blueberries from the Buttermilk Blueberry Buckle. I wish the honeycomb had more honeycombs in it but it was still awesome without a doubt. I recommend each flavor I ordered if you like to branch out from the traditional flavors. Enjoy my foodie connoisseurs.

One of, if not the best ice cream spot in Atlanta!!! My wife was raving about the Lavender Honeycomb and Smores flavors. Each time Ive gone I always get the Coffee Ice Cream. Its SUPER delicious and has bits of coffee chips.

Sooooo good!!! Never had such a tasty, handcrafted sundae. The s'mores sundae was a revelation. Was a bit more expensive than your standard ice cream place, but this spot is taking a gourmet approach to ice cream, so you're paying for the quality, and it's worth it.

The place was packed when I went Saturday night. Just a solid ice cream place. If you're taking a walk down Highland Ave, it's part of a stretch of other food places and bars. Perfect for those Hotlanta summers!

Great fresh made ice cream with unique flavors. Had the lavender honeycomb and will definitely go back to try others the next time I'm in town.

One of my favorite spots for Ice Cream. The Lavender Honeycomb their signature flavor is one reason to visit, try it as a shake or with a magic shell.
