The 38 Essential Restaurants in San Francisco

"Fine dining is known for its hospitality, but truthfully, some higher-end places can feel stuffy and tense. That’s thankfully not the case at Quince, which underwent a renovation and reopened in November 2023; if anything, the updates to the dining room make the environment feel comfortable and inviting. That’s not to mention the masterful food of chef Michael Tusk, which easily shifts with the seasons, thanks to farm partners Fresh Run Farm. You’ll feel well taken care of by the night’s end." - Dianne de Guzman, Eater Staff

The Best Splurge Restaurants in San Francisco

"Quince and its three coveted Michelin stars returned to the Jackson Square neighborhood in late 2023 following a massive renovation and a refresh of the multicourse tasting menu. Chef Michael Tusk remains at the helm, gathering all manner of ingredients from across West Marin and crafting them into artfully composed plates that balance simplicity with thoughtful technique. The biggest change: more options for diners to pick an experience that best meets their needs. That means in addition to the full 10-course ($390) gastronomy experience, there’s also a four-course ($270) option and an a la carte menu available in the salon and bar. While you’ll need to book ahead for the tasting menus, seating for the a la carte menu are available on a first-come, first-served basis." - Flora Tsapovsky, Eater Staff

I was introduced to Quince on a TV Ad and I needed Black Leather gloves w/cashmere lining to replace my old ones. I ordered them about a week ago, received them today and they are OUTSTANDINGLY incredible! They are Glove Leather with Cashmere lining, they fit perfectly and the price was remarkable! Quince sells men’s and women’s clothing and accessories, jewelry, bedding, home goods, furniture, etc. etc. they also do Wholesale and gifting. If you haven’t been introduced to Quince you must check them online to see their incredible website. After receiving these gloves I will now start buying other needed items!!

Absolute fraud of a company. Bought a pair of pajama sweatpants, they ripped after 2 uses, and I write a negative review. They refuse to post it. Then they email me multiple MORE times to post a review! I cannot believe this is allowed to happen - it's the exact reason all their products have massively positive ratings on their own website, because they refuse to post negative reviews of their products. I am sure that some of the stuff they sell is legit and not a piece of crap like the product I bought, but I would never, ever recommend buying from them due to the way they are lying to consumers and not approving negative reviews.

This is a terrible company. I ordered a $1,200 bracelet and the company took my money and then ghosted me. It was a Christmas gift that I ordered on November 29th. I emailed after three weeks and only received an automated response. Zero tracking information. The auto response said they had my order. I tried chatting with customer care and it seemed like bots. Super polite but not helpful at all. After a week of this misery, I received a text on December 23rd (2 days before Christmas) that my order has been canceled. Unbelievably unprofessional. Save yourself some grief and buy from anyone else.

I cannot overstate the absurdity of the “customer service” we received when dealing with this company. We ordered our rug on September 13th and were told it would arrive in 4-6 weeks. After 8 weeks, we followed up several times through their incredibly unhelpful email and text support (they do not have a call support line). Each time we were told our case was being “escalated” to their logistics team and that we would promptly receive a response. And each time we were given no information as to where on earth our rug was. It is now December 25th and after countless emails, text messages, phone calls (again, they don’t have a real phone service so it’s pretty much useless) we were just told that our order has been reissued and will arrive in….4-6 weeks. They were kind enough to offer us to cancel the order, but only if it hasn’t been put into production yet. Of course they can’t tell us if it has been put into production because that needs to be escalated to their mysterious logistics person. Stay away from this joke of a company and their alleged rug supply. My only recourse is to cancel my order, and to my dismay I am still rugless, several months removed from my original doomed rug purchase, and reminded daily of the mistake I made by placing my faith in Quince when I step out of bed and my bare feet are met by my cold floor rather than the soft rug that I was promised but never delivered.

This company is absolute joke - STAY AWAY! Similar to past reviews, we have been lied to by their customer service multiple times on where our order is. When we told them after a couple of weeks of no delivery that we want a refund, they have gone radio silent. We still don’t have either products we ordered or a refund and don’t know what to do at this point. Another shiny D2C company on the outside trying to scam people until they go belly up.

I placed a substantial order ($300 +) with Quince on January 24th, 2025, and my experience has been nothing short of frustrating and concerning. Here's what happened: Order placed and shipped: January 24th Promised delivery date: January 27th Current status: No products received, no refund issued (as of February 10th) The issues began when their chosen shipping carrier claimed to attempt delivery - which never actually happened. I immediately contacted Quince's customer service to report this false delivery attempt and missing package. Their response was concerning: they insisted I needed to wait until February 9th (two weeks!) before they would even consider sending replacement products or issuing a refund. When I followed up as instructed on February 10th, instead of resolving the issue, they now claim they need to conduct an "investigation" before taking any action. They continue to hold my many while providing no timeline for resolution and no guarantee of either receiving my products or getting a refund. I would strongly caution potential customers about ordering from Quince, especially for high-value purchases. A company that shows such disregard for $370 of customer money while failing to deliver products or provide proper customer service is not one I can recommend doing business with.

Saw Quince advertised on tv a few months back. I love linen clothes so I thought I would give Quince a chance! Well, I love the linen shirts they fit perfectly! I bought a dress also. Not disappointed at all with their clothes. I haven't had an opportunity to wear it yet, but it fit nicely also! Can't wait until winter sets in and I look at their cashmere clothes!!!

Leaving review here because I notice Quince never post my reviews and I bought this product through reading the reviews online and felt like I have been misled. Bought this ring during Black Friday thinking it was on sale. The package came without a ring and I had to contact customer service to get it redelivered. Quality of the ring feels light and cheap like plastic. The package does not look nice either considering its fine jewelry. The size I got was a bit bigger so I submitted for exchange for a smaller size. Their system was very confusing, because it showed as return instead of exchange and customer service told me I did it correctly. Then, I realized they processed my order and the wrong ring size is shipped so I contacted customer service again and they told me they messed up my order and process my order as REPLACEMENT instead of EXCHANGE. They told me they can only cancel my order and refund me and I have to order the ring again. The price is the SAME price as Black Friday sale which is just a marketing scheme. It was never on sale; they just make it look like it was discounted to get people to buy it. At this point I am extremely annoyed that they cannot fix the order and they did not even offer to credit me for the inconveniences. I will NEVER shop with QUINCE again. Take my money somewhere else the quality and customer service are so bad.
