Michelin-Starred Restaurant Quince’s Membership Program Sold Out | Eater SF

"I note that the three-Michelin-star restaurant introduced a $5,000-a-year membership called Quince & Co., and that the launch sold out within weeks; owners Michael and Lindsay Tusk capped the program at 80 members to formalize long-standing relationships with regulars and create more financial stability during the pandemic. The membership includes a $1,000 dining budget usable at Quince, Cotogna, or Verjus, prioritized reservations that effectively give members first access to indoor seating when Quince reopens, quarterly provisions boxes sourced from the farm, and exclusive events such as apple picking, cider pressing, beekeeping, and cheesemaking workshops. Tusk says the idea came from a guest who wanted to support the restaurant, and that members embraced it so quickly that few questioned the price." - Becky Duffett

One of our favorite rooftop dinning experiences while in San Miguel De Allende. Beautiful rooftop bar and restaurant with amazing views of the nearby basilica. Great atmosphere and vibe, extensive drink menu, and live entertainment. The menu offerings cover a variety of choices. We had the sliced beef filet over the Amarillo risotto with onions and tomatoes which was excellent. I would recommend making reservations in advance. Definitely worth a vist when in SMA.

Google
Quince Rooftop has been one of my top go to restaurants when in SMA. Aside from the breath taking views the food is exceptional. The entire staff really strives to make your visit one to remember. I went six years ago & again October 2025 both visits were memorable. Delicious food, drinks, ambiance....just what the soul needs!

Google
Excellent experience! The food was delicious. The cocktails were too good. Brittney was very helpful! Such a great place to dine enjoying the beauty of SMA. Try Ceviche Verde and Frida Roll- they are too good.

Google
Quince is a beautiful restaurant with a stunning view. We were a group of six and definitely needed to book a table in advance. I highly recommend the Aguachile de Picaña for a full flavor experience it really stands out. And for the picky eaters, the Rock Shrimp Tempura is a guaranteed win. You could honestly eat an endless amount of them. Great atmosphere, great food, and definitely worth a visit.

Google
I loved every moment here, from the drinks and dinner to the delicious desserts. The music was the cherry on the cake. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Antonio, our waiter, was always very kind and attentive. Thank you so much to all. We will definitely be back.

Google
A wonderful upscale rooftop restaurant with unique dishes ( and familiar as well). The dish combinations, like the beef with yellow pimiento risotto was delicious. The lamb dumplings were interesting, but maybe needed a bit more of the wonderful cilantro sauce. The salad was refreshing with the lemmon vinaigrette, and the camarones a la parrilla were very tasty (maybe a bit spicy). For dessert we had an interesting version of a black forest cake, which had nothing to do with cake but every bite was heavenly. Beautiful presentation!. Every dish is prepared with finesse, and the flavors are close to a Michelin type restaurant. The impecable service, the quality of the silverware and dishes shows the care they put into this lovely restaurant. Prices are fair, with a $20-25 price for an excelent dish or $15 chicken Caesar salad. The Margaritas are also fantastic. I will definitely come back! No se lo pueden perder. Platos muy finos de sabores delicados o exhuberantes, bellamente presentados y excelente servicio.

Google
Great view, cool show. service was really bad, took soooo long everytime they come to take an order. Thy weren’t able to take the right order either, maybe because of their english. Food was good. Drinks were not good, too much ice (even though we asked for drinks with NO ice) Front desk asked us what the occasion is so they bring a cake. I said birthday, the lady laughed and never brought us anything. I asked her what happened at the end and she said I thought you were joking!!

Google
Amazing meal and experience at Quince. Alan, our server, took great care of us while myself, friends and family bonding over a long but well spent dinner. I will say that the only thing that bothered me was early on- I was a bit concerned due to the noise level of the speakers, loud chatty staff, and lots of unsupervised children, but as the time passed the ambiance got better. Highly recommend the aguachile appetizer, the beef risotto entree, and honestly would trust the bartender with my life after trying their special cocktail of the day.

Yelp
This place is fantastic! I cannot say enough good things about the food, service and atmosphere. I was in San Miguel for a 4 day trip and visited three times. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Beautiful spot to enjoy a meal. The service was great, and we had live music during brunch. The pot stickers were not my favorite, but my wife loved her risotto. The drinks were also very nice. We had coffee an a fruity lemonade.

Yelp
If you're looking for a higher end dining experience with entertainment and ambience in San Miguel, this is it. I dined here in the evening with dim tabletop lighting, a dj, someone played a violin and even a tightrope walker, not your typical dinner. Our group was large as we were in town for a wedding so we were sat at two tables next to each other. While the brides table had excellent service, our table not so much. It seemed like there was a mix up about who was actually supposed to be taking care of us. Some dishes were tastier than others and my drink was nice, however I've had much better fish dishes elsewhere. The wine service was very nice and the ambience was very beautiful. There are both English and Spanish language menus as well. Overall it's a beautiful place.
google avatar

Yelp
Superb rooftop restaurant with an amazing views and food. The grilled octopus is a must! The rolls are very good too, as was the sea bass, and everything with steak in it. And if it's someone's first day, they give a free ice cream dessert topped with fruit and a sparkler on top. It is best to set reservations, especially if it's a large group.
google avatar

Yelp
What an impressive restaurant. Service is spectacular, not just great, but a step above! The entertainment was more impressive than anticipated. But the best part was the food! I ordered the filet salad. The meat was tender and the serving was about 6 ozs, more than ample for a salad. The ambiance is upscale. I recommend Quince completely, FIVE STAR!
google avatar

Diane K.

Yelp
We went here with a group of approx 20 people. Our reservations were for the following night, but today's other restaurant wasn't prepared for us, so we ended up here. The management was able to give us two large tables in front of the wonderful show. I had the shrimp, perfectly prepared. Their wine list is extensive, and reasonably priced. EVERYTHING was just the best!

Yelp
Great food and even better service. Everyone is so kind and the food was delicious. We loved the hamachi peruano and the pulpo brazado.

Yelp
My favorite city on EARTH! God bless San Miguel. This is a super romantic spot to take in the views of the city. You can see the church, town square, and look down on the beautiful cobblestone streets. My group came here to celebrate a birthday and they brought out sparklers and the whole she-bang. It was a COLD March night. Como que.... hace fríoooooooo. The wait staff was very accommodating, turned on all the heaters they could, and brought us blankets. Food was amazing. These lamb dumplings were so different from anything I'd ever had before. Drinks are good, music is fun, people watching is perfecto. There's a ton of good dining options in San Miguel, but if you're really looking to impress somebody, this is a show-stopping option.
google avatar

Veronica K.

Yelp
We wanted a lighter lunch while walking around the city. The rooftop had a great view of the church and they have umbrellas at each table plus handheld umbrellas for the sun. I loved the chicken caesar salad, the dressing was phenomenal. Husband's cheeseburger was good although pretty rare, he likes rare but it was a little too much even for his liking.

Maria C.

Yelp
La comida, el ambiente y el servicio es EXCELENTE!!! Cada que venimos a San Miguel no dejamos de visitarlos!! FELICIDADES!! Alan, Paola, Cristian y Joel, son Los culpables de que regresemos a La Quince!! GRACIAS!!!

Yelp
It may be the most beautiful rooftop dining spot ever. The views are incredible. And, the atmosphere is fun, with a live DJ, violinist, and a tightrope walker! Our server was friendly and efficient. The food was excellent. And they love celebrations as you will see from my photos. We started with special drinks, a dragon fruit mezcal concoction, a gin basil and lime, and a Black Forest mezcal drink. Very delicious and nicely presented. For starters we had the Rock Shrimp Tempura, Lamb Dumplings and thinly sliced tuna sashimi with jalapeño and avocado. It was all very delicious. For dinner we had Aji pepper risotto with sliced beef filet, fusilli with lam ragout and braised short ribs over humus. Everyone loved their meal. We ended with a slice of corn bread cake with berries, and their traditional birthday desert (forgot the name). This comes with a cool sparkler. I highly recommend this restaurant for celebrations, date night, or any fun occasion. We loved it. Also the staff is bilingual. So there were no issues with communication.

Yelp
Heads up: Quince allows smoking during rooftop dining--despite Mexico's federal law banning it anywhere food or drinks are served, even outdoors. We had a couple less than an arm's length away smoking cigarettes while we ate. The smoke blew directly at us, and staff confirmed it was allowed. No mention on the website, no signage, and no heads-up at check-in or when we made the reservation. We had to move tables, and even then the wind carried the smoke back during his second cigarette. It really soured the evening. That's unfortunate, because the vibe and ambiance at Quince are great. The lamb barbacoa dumplings were amazing. The Frida roll--a refreshing aguachile-style sushi--was another favorite. The braised lamb had great flavor, though it came out room temp (not warm...). We ordered the molten chocolate cake, which takes 25 minutes, but were later told it was burned. They did the right thing and comped it, but after the smoke issue and no dessert, it left us disappointed overall.

Yelp
Angel Bonilla was an excellent server! The food and drinks were fantastic. The views from the rooftop were beautiful! The entertainment of the lit tightrope walker and violinist with the lit up bow were cherries on top! Highest recommendation!

Rosie M.

Yelp
Love it excellent everything taste delicious thank you so much I will return to beautiful experience

E H.

Yelp
The food and service were both top notch. The restaurant was gorgeous and the rooftop offers amazing views. There was also live entertainment in the form of a trapeze artist-super cool. The ONLY thing I didn't care for was that the music was very loud-made it a little difficult to carry a conversation. I had ordered an appetizer of hummus with brussel sprouts & apparently my order got mixed up and instead I received the hummus with short ribs, but since I'm not actually vegetarian, I didn't say anything and was glad I didn't because the short ribs were insanely delicious! Everything our table ordered was great & they were very conscientious of our friend's gluten allergy. I had been a little apprehensive about coming here, afraid it may be a tourist trap, but although it was on the expensive side, it was totally worth it.

Yelp
They even have freaking wire / cable walkers and a lady playing a violin with a light saber as extra entertainment!

Veronica L.

Yelp
The food was really good the appetizers were amazing. We got the ceviche verde and risotto de trufa and it was delicious. We also got the salmon al horno, risotto de res and angus hamburger. We didn't end up liking the sopa de tortilla because it was a lot heavier than we thought but the manager made no issue about that and removed it from bill as the meal was barely touch. They also provided mini show and tightrope walking show. Additionally they surprised my mom for her birthday which was really cute. She loved the dessert it was really unique. Overall a great experience and a great view.

Yelp
Nice terrace to grab a drink at during sunset! We made a reservation in advance and were able to get seated quickly right before sunset. After looking at the menu and reading reviews we weren't too excited for the food but wanted to stop here for drinks and the view. We ended up getting a couple of mezcalitas (jamaica and guava) as well as the lamb barbacoa dumplings to share after we got a bit peckish. The cocktails were good but a tad sweet for our liking - we would have preferred something more mezcal-forward but of course with mixed drinks, they tend to be sweeter. The lamb dumplings had good flavor but wasn't really fried enough to get the skin crispy which would have been a nice contrast to the slighty mushy filling. And of course the view! We really came for sunset and it didn't disappoint. We were able to see the sunset from one side and a glimpse of Church of San Miguel de Allende from the other while seated on the higher terrace. There are 2 terraces, the lower one has a better view of the church but we were able to move and take pictures from both. It seemed like most of the guests around us were just there for drinks during sunset so I'd say that's the best move to enjoy Quince.

Jesse S.

Yelp
Service was novice. It was told to me that something on the menu wasn't available because they were out. Then others around us were brought that item. The place is pretty for sure, but for North American prices, their food and service a severely lacking. I recommend you do not waste your money here. There are plenty of other great options nearby.
google avatar

Yelp
Most amazing experience, not just culinary, but the whole thing. Including a big surprise, an acrobatic performance that just awed everybody. Of course the cuisine was great, fresh, and well presented. And the service impeccable.

Yelp
Classy rooftop bar in SMA. The ambience on a Friday night was relaxed, yet hip and fun. We sat in the rooftop terraza with views of San Miguel de Allende. Every staff we encountered was smiling and very welcoming. Our waiter, Yair, took the time to explain the menu and make suggestions. They have a great selection of drinks to choose from and also they stock up on Allende beer. Over all great experience at Quince, great for a date night, evening meal, etc... I would suggest making a reservation, as we noticed people would arrive without one wouldn't be able to get in. We used OpenTable to make our reservation.
google avatar

Javier V.

Yelp
The best known restaurant in SMA and the best rooftop patio hands down. Good food, pretty people and a great view. Certainly, I will return. Quince is a place for special occasion or a romantic dates. I did see a huge wedding party so they do large part

Yelp
The views were so incredibly beautiful. The food was good, unfortunately the service was absolutely terrible. I had one of my worst experiences on our trip to San Miguel and really ever at this restaurant. The server may have been having a bad day but everything I asked for she never brought, water, menu, wine. The bill at the end of the night was completely wrong and had to be corrected also. The atmosphere was late night vibes, they had an acrobat performing, the music was loud and pumping like a club vibe so it was a louder place to eat but fun to start the night out. The sushi was really good and the risotto was delish. They didn't have a lot of drink options that weren't sweet and unfortunately the server was not willing to ask the bartender to make a drink with mezcal that wasn't sweet so I ended up ordering wine. This place is good for large parties and the views are worth the visit. It is a higher end restaurant for the area. Would definitely go back to see if the service is better because the vibe, views and food were awesome. But service really killed the experience.

Leonardo A.

Yelp
To Manuel and Angel. Food was super good! Came with a group of five and they sat us almost immediately. Our servers were very friendly and checked up on us regularly even when the restaurant was busy. Highly recommended and can't wait to come back
google avatar

Yelp
It saddens me to do this. I had visited this place back in 2021 and was looking forward to visiting it again on June 6. My wife and I were in SMA for a wedding. We arrive to the restaurant and right away notice that the power is out, think nothing of it. We are told no hot food is being served, but cold food is available. We order some sushi, sashimi, couple other things, we eat, drink, pay, everything is good. The next day was a different story. It started with using the bathroom a couple times and thinking thats it, Im good to go. Far from the truth, as Im getting dressed to go to the wedding, my wife and I start a parade to the the bathroom one after the other. Constant diarrhea, chills, body aches is what followed for the rest of the afternoon and evening. All that to say that we completely missed the wedding. My wife left in her nicely done makeup and hair, all ruined due to the negligence of this restaurant and 3 out of the 4 in our party sick with Salmonella. Shut it down next time!
google avatar

Kimberly P.

Yelp
Prior to our visit, we had expectations based on the reviews and were prepared for a mediocre food/service at a tourist trap restaurant paired with a long wait time. We arrived right at the grace period at 8:30 pm and waited a little before we were seated. Our table was on the terrace with an amazing view of the church nearby. Our party was eager to eat so we immediately ordered appetizers, entrees, and drinks. Server was very patient and food was served in a timely matter and was very fulfilling. The atmosphere was upbeat, lively crowd with music and entertainment. Overall we were all really surprised at how pleasant everything turned out.

Erica K.

Yelp
The good: the drinks and the view The bad: food and the service. We started with some lovely drinks and attentive staff. Great! Then the food came. The blackened tuna was a terrible cut, sinewy and too thick. It wasn't blackened, it was very slightly crusted in some herbs and thrown on a griddle. I expect a good solid sear and bit of crisp to the outside. This was so poorly cooked. It came with a salad that was supposed to be fennel, onion, and avocado. What I got was a gigantic pile of onions with three slices of avocado on the side. I dug through and four of the most tired looking tiny slices of fennel I've ever seen. While digging, I found an inexplicable wad of cream cheese. Not crème fraiche. Not plated. Just kinda sadly hiding under the onion pile. The two sauces were boring and had the same flavor profile. Their only use was to completely mask the flavor of the tuna. Okay, feature or bug? Either way they belonged on beans or goat. Speaking of goat, the other dish was fusilli with lamb. Oh my. Why. Rather than a glorious reduction with the lamb, I am 80% certain that it was a jar of Ragu. Not ragout. The only compliment I can dredge up is that the pasta wasn't soggy. Yay? The weird thing is that all of the food was the exact same spice level. It's like my guy, we do not need to throw a darn Calabrian chili in every single dish. I didn't want to leave a well-recommended place on such a sour note with such tragic food, so I finally, finally managed to flag down a waiter so we could get a dessert and coffee. Dear reader, he handed me the menu and never returned. Fifteen minutes. Twenty. And I stalked to the front of the house and said, do we pay up front? Yes, I know it's an insult. It was deliberate. This is the sort of place that tries to be fancy for people who know nothing about food. It's so very sub par, from the menu itself to the execution to the service, it was sadder than the limp fennel hiding in the onion pile.

James J.

Yelp
Great rooftop restaurant in San Miguel! Excellent service and nice atmosphere! If you are in San Miguel, this is one of the best Roof Top restaurants to try. Good was good, service excellent and atmosphere was great.

Yelp
Great location with a nice breakfast menu. Note that the breakfast seating is not on the Cathedral side of the restaurant. We could see fine where we were seated.

Yelp
google avatar

Yelp
The rooftop has some amazing views from the deck. Unfortunately one person in our party of 4 had to wait 20 minutes for his entree which arrived Luke warm. While we receive an apology it turned our celebration into a disappointing evening. Our entrees where good but not great for a restaurant that supposedly had great food.. Service between kitchen and servers should be improved and be more attentive. The upper management needs to look at these issues, from reading other reviews this seems to be a constant problem.

Yelp
At Quince I had the 3rd best meal I have had in my entire life‼ I had the braised short ribs with hummus and fried chickpeas- the dish was filling, flavorful, and bursting with umami. The varying textures of the creamy hummus, perfectly-cooked meat, and crunchy garbanzo beans really elevated the dish, and a pop of cilantro gave the meal a hint of greenery and an herby punch. The service was pretty good except for the fact that we had to ask over 6 times for our heater's gas tank to be replaced so we wouldn't freeze. The ambiance was super chill, with a great DJ and nice lighting. Overall, incredible experience (besides the service hiccups-which can be overlooked for the sake of a delicious dinner) and the meal will go down in the history books!

Karlaelodia P.

Yelp
The food and service is great! They also have someone perform. He was walking on a rope. Definitely recommend for the location, the ambiance, service, and experience!

Sabrina M.

Yelp
DO NOT GO HERE!!! Ate there Friday June 6th 2025 (we were in SMA for a wedding that took place the following day) and 3 out of the 4 of us got sick!! To the point that 2 of us could not even attend the weeding due to intense stomach pain, diarrhea, vomit and cold sweats. We later found out that over 10 people that ate there that night got sick too! We got back to California two days later and went to the Urgent Care and after providing a stool sample, my husband tested positive for SALMONELLA!!!!!! CDC already spoke to us and are investigating that place!! Shame on Quince for staying open even after the lights went out, because clearly our health was not their priority! EVITENSE UN MAL MOMENTO Y VAYAN A OTRO LUGAR!! Lastima, porque el lugar esta cool con buen ambiente, pero no vale la pena poner en riesgo su salud!!

Frances D.

Yelp
It's is simply the BEST ambiance, view, sunset, food...everything in SMA! The drinks were refreshing. The waitress was knowledgeable of the area and very attentive. It's always lovely to return for a date at our favorite spot.

Hunter V.

Yelp
This place is absolutely incredible. It came highly recommended by friends and it easily surpassed expectations. The ambiance is amazing, with a great few of the church and city as well as entertainment like violinist and a tightrope walker. The food and drinks are incredible, we've tried at least half the menu at this point and not a single thing disappointed. The service is top notch- on top of speedy delivery they went above and beyond, making my sister a concoction to help her stomach settle. Even more, when we returned days later they remembered helping her and delivered a dessert at the end of the meal saying "feel better". No matter how long you are in town for this is one spot you have to go.
google avatar

Victor L.

Yelp
Definitely a spot to hit up when visiting San Miguel. As close as you can get to the main cathedral and great view from the rooftop. The service was top notch and the food was delicious. The only downside was it did start pouring. We fortunately were able to move to a covered portion of the restaurant, but we no longer had a view.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent food, drinks and ambience. Special thanks to our waiterAngel. He was amazing!

Yelp
I am so glad that we tried Quince as of our rooftop bar experience when we were in San Miguel Amazing food, extraordinary service and stunning view. A must if you are in San Miguel.A++++++

Yelp
Views from the rooftop are lovely and there was live guitarist. However, the food was not particularly noteworthy.

Yelp
Quince was great, made reservations the day before. Came for an breakfast ordered the chilaquiles verdes + orange juice + sunrise 15. Our waitress brought by a basket full of fresh pastries... GET A CROISSANT, it was simply the best. So rich and decadent. Views are the best, great way to start the day.
google avatar

Sophia S.

Yelp
The food was pretty good. I can't remember which dish we had that I think lacked a little flavor but everything else we got was good like the ceviche and octopus. The service was great. We also got a few cocktails that were tasty. There was a man on a slack line a few times throughout the night. I didn't see too much of it because my back was to it and I just wanted to eat lol. At night they had blankets to give you while you were finishing your meals. Overall it was a good time, good food, good vibe.
google avatar

Gene L.

Yelp
Excellent ambiance, service, and the food is amazing. Get the cheese board, ceviche verde and rainbow roll! They provided complimentary black forest cake for us for our anniversary.

Elizabeth C.

Yelp
too expensive and small portions Shop around other areas instead. You will get much better value.

Yelp
Excellent rooftop restaurant a d bar. If you are in San Miguel de Allende, you must visit Quince. Excellent drinks and wonderful dining choices. Top notch. Highly recommend you make reservations. It's a popular establishment.

Yelp
Vibe check fail. Back drop of the beautifully rustic Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel did not mesh well with the vibe of Quince. The DJ was completely clueless and intent on blasting poorly remixed edm/dance versions of popular music. At one point, the DJ was playing Blurred Lines against the backdrop of a Spanish colonial church. This is when we knew we were in for a terrible ride. We had a violinist playing a terrible version of Senorita while the DJ attempted to drown him out with the actual song. You got a tight rope walker that we could barely see because they had umbrellas open during dusk. It was just a hodgepodge of random things that made an attempt to make the roof top to be more classy but the restaurant seemed tacky. Service began great but we barely received any follow up towards the end because the staff was busy trying to get the drunk girl next to me from passing out. As a result, it took 20 min and 3 people to get the check. Out of all the places we went, I think Quince was the most anti-San Miguel de Allende. It just didn't belong in this type of setting. Maybe a few blocks down but not next to a church. There's other places to go for a roof top setting with better views. We were better off just sitting in front of the Parroquia with elotes in hand than going here. 5 star views with half way decent food/drinks but at the cost of terrible ambiance and service.

Yelp
Ambience. A Service. A Food. A Price. A They're next to Parroquia church and down a side street. You walk into a lovely open garden area with other shops and have to walk up 2 flights of stairs. I recommend getting a reservation as it can fill up quickly. I came at 4 in afternoon and scored a table quickly as it wasn't busy yet. Lots of staff to look after you and most everyone is I met was bilingual. Nice. They have an online Spanish and English menu. The views overlooking the city or up at the church are amazing and beautiful. The music is little loud, but makes for a happening fun vibe. . Presentation of drinks and food are Gorgeous I ordered a mezcal pineapple special. Mxn $250. Nice and fresh. Also pressed salmon and tuna roll in ponzu sauce. Nice fresh tasting sushi roll. Mxn $270 Overall, I'm a fan.

Yelp
We enjoyed breakfast here on the with some delicious fruit juices. Service was impeccable. Food good and the view was incredible !
