Food was pretty good just nothing too inventive, the service was a little intense and nothing too great about it and the restaurant was nice, we just had to take an alternative route from the dock. One thing that was a little shocking was that the condiments were not cooked and were even a little warm the only cooled condiment was the ketchup while the ranch was just left out in the warmth.

Came here wanting to try Cioppani and i was not disappointed. The restaurant has good view and ambience. It was quiet and nice in the day for a solo dine-in. Service was fantastic. Cioppani was peppery marinara sauce with loads of seafood. Definitely a bargain for the amount of seafood given for its price. Nice spot to give it a try.

I went for an event and enjoyed a great show and food. The wait staff was really friendly thought it took them a while to acknowledge me. Would definitely attend again. Good for a solo thing, girls night or a couple thing.

The service was great. The atmosphere was fun! 😀 None of us finish our food. We are was finish our food and if not take it home. The steaks were "grey"! We were unable to eat more than a few bites so unusual for us... This has not happened in our years of friendship.... 1 out of 10. We regret our decision, never again.... And we so, so, so wanted to leave a better review🥹 Management/Buyer please source better food! 🙏

This is not the seafood restaurant it once was. Its a Chinese restaurant with some seafood. I came for the Sunday brunch! There is no Sunday brunch. I came for the Monte Cristo, nope. I wanted the famous coconut shrimp for dinner, nope! They advertise lively bar activity. I wanted a Keoke coffee. The said We only have regular coffee. I had to explain. It came in a 4oz paper cup like 7-11. It was $15!!! I got the hell out of there

Nice place on the harbor a short walking distance from the hotel my niece and I were staying at. We enjoyed a lovely lunch. Big pasta portion on the seafood linguine. My niece loved it. I got a combo meal, was good, and wished I had asked for salt, soy sauce or more sauce to give it more flavor. Great outdoor seating, and all gender restrooms. Wished the server would of given me a drink menu, but she was busy/overwhelmed only came by to get our order, and then to close the bill. Guess its good they dont push to sell alcohol, and do well with minimal and basic service.

I would give five stars across the board, except I found out what they DON’T have anymore… since it became the Vietnamese restaurant, it stopped being a seafood oyster bar that had monthly Sea Shanty Sing-a-Longs!!!! I am bereft I am heartbroken. Everyone was very, very nice even though they were really focused on the big birthday party upstairs. We were the only people downstairs eating. They gave me my Vietnamese iced coffee in a kickass pirate mug, like my friend got her Pilsner in. Some of the menu offerings are really unique and interesting. I had the Vietnamese Spring Rolls … if you don’t know, Vietnamese spring rolls are fresh, not fried. They are served with shrimp and cilantro with some sliver vegetables and bean thread noodle. They were out of shrimp so I had the chicken. It was a little stiffer than I’m used to but my biggest problem was that it smelled and tasted very fishy. And it didn’t have fish! My friend had Ahi tuna nachos. Then I saw the picture of the garlic bread and suddenly had to have garlic bread so I ordered shrimp fettuccine Alfredo—and it was very good!! For me, the big standout was that the restaurant was originally a 1902 lighthouse moved down the estuary by barge to become the restaurant. Around the perimeter of the ceiling are model ships! I just wish they’d bring back the sea shanty sing-along And if they knocked those plastic, but they look like pewter Pirate mugs down to $25 instead of $75, I’m sure they could sell a bunch of them and still make a lot of $.

I've been going to Quinn's for over 15 years off and on. this last visit I found they had a change in management about last January. I have found a change and how they cook their food it's not the same as before. New Management has Vietnamese food choices as well it's different from the Italian seafood Style that we once used to expect from Quinn's when I was there they directed us to the upper floor where the bar. I am disabled can only take the elevator to the main floor. We found ourselves sitting on the main floor by ourselves. We each ordered fish and chips and clam chowder & couple sodas. I found a chowder to be very disappointed it wasn't it's Rich thick creamy soup as we've had and remembered it was watered down and thin. I found their staff very attentive and pleasant. Are bill came to about it came to about $89 plus tip. there's a lot of potential to bring back Quinn's the way we once knew it to be. I wish them the best and I look forward to seeing the change.

Finally Quinn's has capable ownership. Immediate vibe change from last time I was here and new menu with new owners. Came here for a quick banh mi to go. Super attentive staff (unlike past), saw them doing a birthday slice for a family sitting down (doubt old owners would ever do that). Place is much cleaner and it feels safe to eat here finally. Grilled pork banh mi hit the spot. Excited to try some of the new seafood things on the menu and actually bring people here. Kudos to new staff and ownership. I will be back.

Quinn's is open under new ownership, and the food is terrific! Larry is an experienced restauranteur, so I have faith that that this will be a successful venture. You can get hamburgers and fish and chips and clam chowder, but now also a selection of Vietnamese dishes. I had the beef and lemongrass sandwich, and loved it! Can't wait to try all the other Vietnamese sandwiches! We will toatally be back on a regular basis. Be sure to go on a Thursday and catch the Sons of the Buccaneers, back after their absence! May 3,2024. New ownership, new management, new Asian influenced menu. Taps are not set up yet. Bottled beer is five dollars. Fish and chips remain on the menu. Maybe a different batter but still top-notch. Same classic decor, and fantastic views. Don't know when it reopened, but so glad it did. Will give a time for the staff to get up the speed and settled in.

Well, I have been working across the street from this restaurant for over 15 years. There's not much in the immediate area and Monday was definitely not my first time eating there. Honestly you almost think you're entering an upscale establishment. It's on the Oakland Estuary... boats line the bay line on both sides of the restaurant. Actually, I am happy that this place withstood 2020-2023 and now we're back in the office so we will be back patronizing the eatery. The location itself makes you believe that it's a seafood restaurant and it is. I was so hungry that until this moment I didn't even realize that I didn't take a lot of pictures. Years ago they used to have peanut shells on the floor lol. They deck seemed appealing so I decided to have me and my daughter dine in the evening sun. We had the fried oysters for an appetizer- 5 stars She ordered the blackened catfish and I had one of the daily specials- open face crab salad sandwich with fries. Ok... the catfish portion was huge, well flavored however very wet. Usually this dish is seared more... and she described her sides as ok. Mines... tooooo much bread. The palm-size portion of crab salad that was a little too wet with dressing presented on a French roll with American cheese-yikes!!! My shoestring fries were moderately warm. I took most of my meal home- minus the toasted French roll. I did remix the crab the next morning into a omelette. I'm not going to completely waste my money lol! My daughter took half of her fish home. Overall a decent experience for $90 with tax and that's with dessert. I just spent $200 on dinner with my sister last week so this is a bargain. I might stick to the fried oysters next time we roll over there after work and happy hour.

I love Quinns, and I'm bummed they closed permanently today! I have stopped in many days to sit at the bar and chop it up with the bartenders. Great food, drinks, and location. Positioned right on the scenic Oakland estuary. The absence of Quinns will definitely leave a void in the area. I wish the employees all the best moving forward! Long live Quinns!!

I came in and had dinner here a couple nights in the same week. I sat at the bar, the service was pretty good, but it felt like the staff was stretched a little thin. I tried the fish and chips the first night. It was a healthy serving of beautifully breaded fish. When I came back I got the fish sandwich. It was the same great fish, light and flakey. I would gladly eat here again! Great food, fun location, good service!

Date: 5/14/2023 Time: 1:10 PM 72° Sunny The last time I had lunch at Quinn's was about 30 years ago. Back then, it was an office Christmas party and I enjoyed myself. Moving forward to today, my daughter brought me here for a Mother's Day lunch. Our reservation was at 1 PM and we were slightly behind schedule. The host escorted us to our table immediately. The waiter who brought us the glasses of water was in a somewhat sour mood. The guy had a scowl on his face. Hmm. Do we get up and leave? Naw, he is not going to take the joy out of me. However, the wait time to order our lunch took about 30 minutes. Service was slow. There's no need for me to throw a hissy fit and act a little cray cray with other restaurant diners around. Based on my observation, he was the only waiter on the floor and there were at least 30 diners in the dining room. He never came back to our table, as there were about 15 people (in a group) sitting behind my daughter. He was quite busy serving them. I saw all those plates of food and they sure look delicious. Finally, there were a waiter and waitress helping with the rest of us diners. The waitress was apologetic for the delay. For my daughter, she ordered the crab louie salad and a ginger beer. I had an Arnie Palmer and the cioppino. The Arnie Palmer was okay. At first, it had a nice balance of tea and lemonade, but the tea eventually overwhelmed the tartness of the lemonade. The beverage became a tall glass of iced tea. I had better elsewhere. The cioppino was quite tasty and the portion was generous with plenty of seafood in the tomato based broth - clams, mussels, calamari, scallops, prawns, bay shrimp. So hearty that I could only eat half of it and brought the other half home. I wouldn't mind returning for that salad. The ambiance is comfy and casual. A table by the window offers a view of the boats docked in their berths.

I made reservations for my birthday dinner and have eaten here many times in the past. I was a fan and even order to go during the pandemic. However this experience was far under what I'd come to expect. There where fruit flies and regular flies everywhere. The tables felt sticky. The waitress didn't know what a champagne cocktail was and didn't offer to as the bartender for a substitute. She didn't mention any special for the day. The food was was not good. The calamari was too oily, the clam chowder was super thick and lukewarm, the salad was sent back with bugs, the cheese on the garlic cheese bread was not fully melted and the paella, seafood ravioli, and the prawn boogaloo or something like that was very bland.and flavorless. Sorry, I didn't take pictures of all the $260 worth of food we purchased. The only thing we enjoyed was the bday cake. Not sure that I will ever give it another try.

Great food, large plates and good service. The place has a great view from the upstairs patio as the sun set on the water behind the Oakland skyline. I would recommend it for a nice dinner or as a place to meet up with friends for a drink.

The ambiance at Quinn's is delightful. During COVID they pretty much shut down the first floor, so you have to go up to the 2nd floor nowadays. This is fine, as the view of the marina up there is better. During the warm days, its great to sit out on the balcony. The drinks here are affordable. The service is okay. The quality of the food is middle of the road. Its really all anout the view. Parking is easy. There's always a space available.

Ah always delicious when we come here. Honestly the server was mediocre meh... but with this beautiful view eh... who cares!! On nice days the deck is beautiful!! Love the shrimp cocktail yummy!!

Yum! It feels different yet is the same. The views are just as pretty. The food was very good. The tofu & veggies were so good my carnivore friends wished they'd ordered that instead of the fish & chips which they loved. We stayed a really long time & were never rushed. The server was great & knowledgeable. The owner came out & talked with us. She seems super motivated! Very nice! I feel like Quinn's is going to become something different but even better than before!

I've been coming here for nearly a decade and the food, ambiance, and fun are all better - not that I had any problems before. Kudos for braving the storm on serving Vietnamese food. The banh mi is fresh. Fish and chips and the clam chowder were probably the best I've had in awhile and that's saying something (I was stationed all along the upper east coast for a brief time in the service and all we ate was fish and chips... and chowder... a lot of chowder). Spaghetti and garlic bread is legit, like Italian restaurant legit. Go support them folks. I hear the ownership is opening another restaurant in the old train station too.

Always a cool ambiance. When I was young I like throwing peanuts on the ground but I'm glad they stopped because it was a bit uncleanly. The food is always pretty good and drinks are a plus. The service is very helpful.

New owners did an AMAZING job. The menu has a plethora of options, varying from coastal Vietnamese cuisine to a traditional italian american seafood. Its been awhile since a restaurant has made me this joyful. PLEASE GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR BUSINESS. ALSO HUGE FRICKIN PORTIONS!!!

My Husband and I went here on Saturday Night 1/6/24 and we really enjoyed ourselves. It was our 2nd time going here. David was our server and he was FANTASTIC. He really made us feel welcomed and attended to. Be sure to try the Anchor Beer Steamed Mussels and the Boddington's Pub Ale. Each was great - together was otherworldly. Avoid the Dinky Doo Seafood Stew unless you prefer food that is relatively bland. We prefer more spices / flavors in our stews. But the seafood in the stew was excellent quality. And the portions are generous here for the price. We will be back from time to time.

I decided to go by Quinn's Lighthouse for an after work drink and appetizer and I'm grateful I did. First off the restaurant is super cute with phenomenal views. I walked in to 80's music and knew I found the right spot. I LOVE 80's music!!! Even though there was music and a lot of people talking, my experience felt peaceful. I ordered the wings and was surprised over how fast they came out. Normally, that concerns me because I like my food freshly prepared and I know that takes time, but the wings were incredible. Just the right spice and good texture. The were just delicious! The wine was good and the service was excellent. My server was pleasant, very nice and efficient. I can't tell whether I liked the vibe or view more. I honestly felt like I was in a multicultural Cheers, which makes me want to return. I'm looking forward going back for a full meal.

Ok first of all I want to say I was in Oakland on business for the week and this place was close to my room so we decided to check it out, first time I had gumbo and a beer and my friend had ravioli and cheese bread!! Food was really good and the guy that served us was so great we told him we'd be back the next day!! So we did come back and both of us had the rib-eye with mushrooms and asparagus omg!! Very good!! This place ambiance was good and quite a bit of people!!! If you are in area come check it out!! We will be back!! I will put picks up!!

Bill our waiter is the man! We can appreciate when customer service is full on shining like Bill! He was so honest, friendly efficient and just on top of Everything! He even took awesome pictures of our group of 7. Bill has been here for 19 years and he still is so enthusiastic gotta love it! Wow, never knew Quinn's serves up mostly fresh seafood except a few items like calamari and something else. Most of us ordered fish and chips and fish sandwiches which were deelish! This is such a nostalgic place on the water where you can watch a nice sunset which we did! The homemade coleslaw and warm bread they serve is yummy as well. Bill let me sample their clam chowder which is pretty good as well. We stayed a few hours since my family came to visit from out of town and never felt rushed. Such a hidden gem we cant to return!

Change in management with new Vietnamese menu, but they still had a few seafood items from the old restaurant crew during this first week of new business. I ordered the $22 seafood ravioli bc I was in the mood for pasta, otherwise, I would've given the new cuisine a spin. Will definitely return to Alameda to this waterside gem of a place IF they keep their prices low, otherwise, why bother, right?

Great restaurant with a wonderful view of the water and boats. I'm glad I went for the clam chowder. It was creamy, savory, and flavorful, everything you'd want in a great clam chowder! Staff was friendly and attentive throughout our dining experience.

I haven't been to Quinn's for like too many years; Fridays after work to have drinks and peanuts. I heard the place had reopened with new owners so a friend and I went. We shared a beef and lemongrass Vietnamese sandwich. The bread was so soft and yummy. I did miss a kick not finding a jalapeno pepper. Another dish was pork chops, rice with a green vegetable salad which was tasty as well. I'll go back. The restaurant seemed the same as I used to visit. The upstairs pub also seems the same and they said they are renovating the deck Parking is across the street. Don't turn into the driveway towards the restaurant unless you see a spot right away.

We love this restaurant and especially the bar!! Shout out to Sammy who makes the best Cadillac Margaritas ever. They have really good food and service is always amazing. I have to have the clam chowder every time but I especially like the seafood platter and their burgers are really good too. Parking is pretty convenient just a few steps away at the curb. You have to climb stairs to get to the bar but the restaurant downstairs is accessible. Don't forget to check out Sunday Brunch.

Quinn's has reopened under new owners and is serving Vietnamese food along with a few old favorites like fish and chips and burgers . Happy hour appetizers were a great value We had popcorn shrimp, delicious egg rolls, calamari, and ahi nachos. Dinners ordered included the fish and chips, Bahn mi, fried rice, and the best Vietnamese pancake ever! I want to go back just to have another pancake. It was loaded with veggies, and fish and crispy delicious. It's presentation was lovely including fresh basil mint and red leaf lettuce. Our server was knowledgeable pleasant and aimed to please. Beer on tap is coming next week. The only thing it needs is more customers.

Quinn's Lighthouse is fantastic! I love that they have many of their own unique recipes along with a few standards for the less adventurous. I have enjoyed many a late afternoon on their balcony with a beer and watching/listing to the water and boats. Such a great way to relax after work.

My GF and I wanted to try something new tonight so we went towards Oakland for its fantastic food scene. Very happy to have given Quinn's Lighthouse a try tonight. I'll start off by saying the restaurant had easy access as the road it's on offers plenty of curbside parking during business hours. The building offers downstairs and upstairs seating. The inside feels historical, but very well maintained. This includes cleanliness. I don't think I touch any sticky surfaces including the menu I handled. We sat outdoors and watched the sunset (view of the harbor and city is beautiful). Word of caution, I don't think the outdoor seating is heated so put on layers if you want to enjoy the view outside. Staff was attentive and hospitable. The bartender, Bianca, was so nice! Her personality and service created a memorable experience I'd like to share in the future with my friends. My GF is picky when it comes to alcoholic drinks, however, Bianca was spot on with her suggestions. I don't think I've ever seen her enjoy a cocktail as much as she did tonight. The food!! I had the mozzarella sticks and fried fish sandwich. Maaaan... you've gotta try it. Delicious and crisp. Every bite was pleasing. When I turned the bun over on my sandwich I was pleasantly surprised to see it was seasoned like garlic bread Thanks Quinn's for the experience, we'll be back soon!

I have been raving about this place for months now to my son who loves fish and chips. So we finally took him to my favorite seafood restaurant yesterday. Quite frankly it was one huge disappointment. Quinn's has always been a favorite destination for us when we travel to the Bay Area. Being a Bay Area native I am well aware of how legendary Quinn's is. Known for their amazing food, atmosphere and service. However the last two visits this past year were disappointing. I mean from the service to the food being just ok. Not living up to the boasts I make about this place. We ate here yesterday with much excitement and expectation. My son has heard me go on and on about how great the food is. Only to have the expectation not live up to the hype. We go upstairs and kind of just standing there waiting to be seated. Plenty of servers in the area. No one seemed to care. So one finally walked up. Barely spoke English. So we motioned towards a table that was fine for us. We were seated and brought menus. We thanked him. No response. The place wasn't really crowded. So they weren't too busy. By the time a server came to our table we were ready to order our drinks and food. My son and I ordered fish and chips. I added a small bowl of clam chowder to my order. My wife ordered the calamari and a small bowl of clam chowder. Our food seemed to come pretty quickly. Which made me wonder did they just warm the food up? Was it premade? It all looked great. But as I dug in I noticed the chips (which are just French fries). Weren't hot. Sort of warm I guess. But definitely not crispy as they should be. I thought the fish was ok. No flavor that really stood out. The coleslaw was pretty good. My chowder wasn't very hot either. I eagerly awaited my son's opinion on the food I been bragging about. He tried to be positive bcz I wanted him to enjoy what I've been bragging about. But I could see he was experiencing my same issues. The food was just ok. Not bad. Just like meh. We literally had to asked for silverware and napkins. I mean really? I noticed my wife wasn't exactly enjoying her food either. So I asked her what's up? Her clam chowder was pretty much cold and the calamari tasted old. I thought no way. So I tried the calamari and man it tasted like they used old oil to fry it. It tasted old. It definitely had an aftertaste. Before trying her calamari. Another server offered to get a fresh bowl of chowder for my wife which was nice. So that sort of made up for things. But by the time we were all done eating we just looked at each other agreed this visit was not a good one. I am not one to totally trash a business. Bcz the restaurant business is tough and it's hard to please everyone. I also will not say don't ever go here to eat. Bcz again this was just our visit. So other people might have had a great experience. However a restaurant on the level of Quinn's? This was such a let down. To spend 111$ plus a 20$ tip. This should have been an excellent experience. I honestly don't know if we will be back. Bcz I seem to remember it being just so so last year when we came through.

I've been here about 12 dozen times because I totally love this place and today I had the fish sandwich for the first time and it was amazing. Excellent service The Fish Sandwich combination of flavors was amazing on my pallet. The housemaid tartar sauce was excellent. My table mates had the Seabass and jambalaya as well as the signature Fish and chips, all five star amazing. If you have not, tried this hidden secret, please do.

Food portions were actually huge. I wanted fish and chips as an entree, but the picture looked like a little fish. The sweet waiter said "I get full just eating one fish". I thought she meant as in she has a small appetite.. boy was i wrong.. IT WAS HUGE I was fighting a battle of finishing it. It was so crispy and juicy. The cooks really know what they're doing. The atmosphere is very nice. I do slightly wish the view was easier to see from just the inside. Very thing was 10/10! I wish there new people a good business and luck.

The atmosphere was wonderful, but the food was average and didn't align with my palate. Nevertheless, the clams and mussels were absolutely delightful

I have been coming to Quinn's for the better part of my life, I'd say at least 34 years. The ownership has changed over the years, but the food is awesome. As a younger man this was my favorite date night place. Overlooking the water at sunset is a picture to behold. I have enjoyed many a fine meal here and would try anything on the menu. My favorite dishes are the Blackened Prawns and the Jambalaya! I can't say the Jambalaya is accurate to the dirty south, but is is a treat for me all the same. The down stairs is a pretty elegant dining spot while upstairs in the bar, everything is very relaxed. I enjoy ordering food to go up in the bar while having a ice cold beer. When the weather permits, they have outside seating outside the bar. I'm a lifelong fan of the lighthouse and whole heartedly recommend it for something special or just a couple beers.

Under new management, very sketchy. Service was absolutely nonexistent, food was not good, & the cocktails we ordered was the worse I've ever had... idk how you mess up a classic lemon drop and the lemon garnish on it was borderline in the rotting stage.... I really wanted to like this place since they included a Vietnamese menu.

I have enjoyed it in the past. But NO more! Disgusting rude service, food was way below par, greasy, cold fish & chips, (chips not crispy, limp & undercooked) nasty clam chowder. No water/drink refills. No one even came over after our order was put on the table to ask if we needed anything, or if everything was to our satisfaction. Restaurant smelled bad everywhere!

This place is mediocre. We ordered the whole fried fish: too small, full of bones and very oily. The crab soup had medium quail eggs?! Very odd.. The fried rice that went with the fried fish was old.. the fried calamari was not fried well enough and the mayonnaise sauce that went with it tasted fishy. The menu didn't have the full description of what you were getting with each dish. The waiter didn't know what was in their egg rolls (meat versus veggies). The Vietnamese kitchen workers were speaking loud to each other downstairs.. the waiter was yelling at his friend behind us. if you want your business to succeed you would correct these immediately or you will fail.

Since the new owners took over we were hoping that Quinn's would be a local restaurant that we could support. They've shortened the menu (which needed to be done) and they added some Vietnamese items. If they could organize their dining room by having roll ups for setting the tables it would help expedite service and set up.as We only saw 2 servers working. Since they no longer serve the Pernod Mussles (which we loved), We tried their pork belly bahn mi and chicken bahn mi. The sandwiches were mediocre. I was hoping for a hint of pate on them and more cilantro..There were only 375 ml. bottles of Chardonnay and rose available. A limited selection of bottled beers (no beer on tap.) If they're going to be successful they need have their bar fully stocked. We would gladly help them start a minimal wine list to help them get started as we want them to succeed! We wish them luck and if they ever want our feedback we would love to help out. All the Best to you, KK

Today my food was average. Caesar salad was bland; fried oysters slightly over-cooked (I'm being kind). Fries were excellent - crispy. Service was "leisurely". Been here at least a few times before and will go back. I thought I enjoyed Caesar last time. I know for sure the fish-n-chips is spot on!! Great location; chill atmosphere. Mixture of all kinds of East Bay types.

Quinn's is reinvented with some old favorites including their yummy pastas and now also Vietnamese food. Last time I had the vermecelli plate which was great. My fiancée had pasta primavera. We both enjoyed the new staff and the food. Fab atmosphere. You can see the boats now since they'll took the canvas down. We are upstairs and the menu is really reasonable 15-30. I really hope they make this work!

Just left here as a solo diner and the place was pretty much empty yet I had to get up to find my own condiments, and get up to ask for service. I order a rib eye steak that I'm positive was a basic sirloin. I asked for medium rare and it was medium with very little seasoning. You know if you have to drown it in A1 it isn't good. The garlic noodles were good but it was suppose to come with a salad according to the photo and it was French fries which I didn't want. It seemed more like a low grade Applebees experience than a historic well graded restaurant. From what I gather it's new Asian inspired ownership and that's definitely not what I went there for. Truly a bummer.

Where do I start with this place, it was not for me.....bloody burger, hard fries, dingy and stinky, enter at your own risk.....I do not recommend...

Quinn's has been in Oakland a long time. The lighthouse was built in 1890; the restaurant was established in 1984. They have been around for a long time, they must be doing things right to stay a popular destination. There was a time when I went here often but that was long before Yelp. Downstairs there is a quiet dining room; the upstairs is more a pub that usually has a floor covered in peanut shells. The deck and patio are both great places to enjoy the views; My most recent visit was for a Christmas lunch with friends. We started the meal with poppers and a bottle of Chloe Pinot Grigio and poppers while I took my time to decide on what I wanted. I usually order an appetizer for my main course. After vacillating between mussels and crab cakes, the waiter suggested the crab cakes. So I went ahead and ordered them. I had the mussels that last time I was here but that was several years ago. The crabs were great they were full of crab and very little, if any, filler. My complaint is not about the food. They brought me a dinner with rice and salad. Which was more expensive and more food than I could eat. I had told the waiter I would have the appetizer as my main. I am not sure how the disconnect happened, I wasn't pleased. Happily, the food was good the next day and I enjoyed my meal again. My friends ordered a hamburger and a Caprese sandwich. These were both served with fries and a small salad. They were happy with their choices. I had a wonderful time: the food was good, the location is great, and best of all was spending time with friends. It was a wonderful day.

Just over the Park Street Bridge from Alameda is a hidden gem seafood restaurant. There are not too many seafood restaurants that are on the water anymore. Alameda has Pier29 and Pasta Pelican. Stay far away from there unless you just want a cocktail. The ambiance walking up to Quinn's Lighthouse is that of no other. There are cute little cottages walking up with statues and ocean bell bouy's. You can sit down on one of the few benches and smell the salt air and relax. Inside upon walking in, you get the feeling you stepped back in time with the knotty pine walls and the nautical wall art. Where are the pirates? Arrrrrggg. haha. It was a nice day so we asked for a table outside. Seagulls yelping ,views of the water and boats on the docks. So peaceful! Servers were courteous and attentive. The food was excellent! We had a calamari appetizer. A+ (crispy lightly floured & seasoned!) The roast beef sandwich with aju was outstanding! Loaded with roast beef and very thick. The fish sandwich was really good with the top side of the brioche bun made into garlic bread! Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

A classic favorite go to for seafood. Great food with a casual ambience upstairs. Love the clams/mussels bucket in garlic wine broth, sooo good. Yumm!

This place has changed hands over the last few years and I am sad to see what it has become. They stopped the sea songs happening up stairs on Thursday so I have lost my reason to come weekly. The food has improved and the staff/sevoce has always been good. The Ambiance has become a bit tacky and lacking charm it once had.

Came to Quinn's for Thanksgiving tonight. It did not disappoint. Easy parking. Stunning dining room. Amazing sunset views. Massive wine and draught beer list with generous pours. Huge menu with many appetizer and main course choices. My wife chose the surf and turf. Delicious tomato sauce covering the prawns with zucchini, mushrooms. The rib eye steak was perfectly cooked rare as requested. Accompanied with asparagus and well roasted potatoes. I had the traditional Turkey dinner served with a vegetable stuffing, mashed yams and fresh string beans. Turkey serving was more than satisfying with abundant portions of both light and boneless dark meat. We shared a wonderful crème brûlée desert served with lady fingers and fresh strawberries. Highly recommend this often overlooked gem of a restaurant that is a long standing part of the Oakland food scene.

Our group of friends had been meeting at Quinn's for years for birthdays and just to get together for years and were so saddened when it closed. And we were so happy when they reopened! Tonight was our first chance to try out the "new" Quinn's. The experience was mixed, but that is understandable given that the new owners are just getting things going. I HOPE they will read this review so they can focus on what needs to be improved. The service was the biggest problem. One friend commented "I don't think the new owners have ever run a restaurant before". I know, OUCH. The kitchen DOES seem to know what it's doing and for the most part the food was pretty good. One friend had the linguini and said it was great. Others had fish and chips, very good. The calamari appetizer...not so much. A couple of us had the Vietnamese rice plates and the garlic noodles. They were very good. We were a party of nine arriving around 5:30 on a Saturday, hardly anyone there. But even after everyone was seated no one came to ask us if we wanted to order drinks! I really WANTED to order a cocktail but after waiting so long I lost interest. There went a bunch of $$$ NOT on the tab!! That was true for several people in our party. It took a long time for anyone to come and take our order, period. One of us had to go and GET the young woman to ask her to please take our order. She said she had never waited tables before. No problem, we are an understanding group. After our meal no one asked if we wanted to see a dessert menu, more $$$ lost from the tab! Please, owners, train your staff to be more attentive or you won't get a lot of return customers! Once we ordered our food came it out pretty quickly, thank goodness. But you could see the process of getting the food delivered to tables was pretty disorganized. I'd hate to see what would happen if they were busy. We'll give Quinn's another try in a few months and hope they can work out the kinks. My husband isn't a big fan of Vietnamese food and hopes they will offer more American fare over time. They've also installed a big screen TV in the downstairs which blocks part of the beautiful view-I guess it's for Karaoke? Maybe they are planning on making most of their money from parties where people drink a lot and sing Karaoke, so they aren't putting a lot of attention into the dining experience. I hope not.

Quinn's wins on location. They sit above a small marina overlooking the back side of Coast Guard Island. You can dinghy there from nearby marinas, which makes it ideal for boaters. It seems like Quinn's was a cool place in its heyday. The decor is fun and irreverent. A bit like a pirate's cove. Even the parking lot has a nautical feel, and the dozen or so feral cats outside give this place a neighborhood vibe. The back balcony is definitely where to be. Inside is pretty dark and a bit drab. Sadly, the food is meh. We've given Quinn's a try both pre and post COVID, and each time, we've been disappointed in the food quality as well as value for money. We want to like Quinn's, but the kitchen needs a reboot. The rice is like Uncle Ben's from a packet. The veggies seem rushed and lack seasoning. The Parmesan cheese sprinkled on the Caesar salad is that stuff that looks like off white sprinkles on ice cream. And who puts a fistful of capers in a Caesar salad? The crab cakes were just ok. It's the one dish my dining companion orders every time they're on a restaurant menu, so there's plenty to compare to. Overall, we want very much to like Quinn's but at $23, a Caesar with a protein at lunchtime should be exceptionally good. As locals, we'll surely forget that the food is meh and try again, in the hopes that the chef finds their passion and their pride in authentically scratch cooked foods and doesn't rely so heavily on frozen stuff that can be dropped into the fryer or packet rice and sauces.
