San Diego’s Best Filipino Restaurants | Eater San Diego

"This turo-turo (point-point) spot covers all the bases with its selection of beloved Filipino dishes. Some standouts include dilis (fried anchovies), sinigang, and kare-kare but R & B excels in their lechon kawai (fried pork belly). It’s served with a potent vinegar dipping sauce to cut through the fat." - darlene-horn

The Best Restaurants in Mira Mesa | Eater San Diego

"This cheerful, takeout counter offers scrumptious Filipino specialties, dished out buffet-style. Try the lechon kawali, or crispy-skinned pork belly, and the pork sisig. Their pancit, a Filipino rice vermicelli noodle dish, is especially flavorful." - Helen I. Hwang

First time here, came at 11:30am on a Thursday, two other customers in the store. Ordered the combo, with BBQ Pork, Pancit, and Lechon Kawali (Fried Pork Belly). Staff there was pretty pleasant, and after ordering, she made it into a combo. Price was about $19.38 or so, and I just paid $20. None of the food was going bad, but generally a bit overcooked. BBQ Pork had a good taste, but was tough and chewy, and seems overcooked. The Lechon was better, and while the skin was crispy and the meat was flavorful, it seemed a bit overcooked. The pork fat was perfect though, literally melt in your mouth. The noodles were okay, not particularly bad or good. If they could shorten the cooking times, it could be really good. The meat wasn't going bad, and the flavors are good, just overcooked. I finished the noodles, fried pork belly, but only ate half of the BBQ pork. I give it 3.5 stars out of 5, although I rounded up to 4.

I miss R&B in Mira Mesa! The best food here is Sisig and Lechon Kawali! For lunch, we tried Kare-Kare, which is a dish with beef, long string beans, squash, eggplant, and shrimp sauce. We also had Bicol Express, a spicy Filipino dish. Of course, we couldn't miss out on Sisig and Lumpia! I miss it so much! The server is nice, and the atmosphere is good. It's always busy and affordable, so if we can't finish, we have leftovers.

Google
Quite possibly the best Filipino Food this side of the Camino River. Service is excellent and servings are huge. With a wide selection of offerings - you're sure to find something you'll enjoy. I love their sisig. Their pinakbet is delicious too! Both items are super popular and at times run it so be sure to call ahead or arrive early. Remember to tip well.

Google
This is the best and cheapest (~$13) Filipino food spot nearest to the UCSD area. I'm a Mexican from the South of the city and my go to place is down in Chula Vista, but I attend college up here and have been looking for a good spot up here. The Filipinos at school would swear by this spot and I'd tried Manila Food but didn't love it so todays the day I finally gave this place the chance. I absolutely loved the food especially considering that I'd only ever had mediocre Filipino food in the area. I got the 1 item Plate with all Pancit, and my entree as the BBQ Pork. I'm personally a bigger fan of BBQ chicken but this spot didn't offer it; I'm just glad it came on the stick. I also got some lumpia and paired everything with a diet pepsi. The sauce they accompanied with the lumpia was unique and I'd never tried anything like that. It was definitely a sweet and sour sauce but it was like infused with a tamarind something. However I will have to say, the lumpia were not my favorite. They're okay and I will be coming back but I'll be sticking to the bbq pork and the pancit. The place is not huge, but you can definitely eat comfortably although it's all kind of catered for togo. Everything is fresh and it's just a real authentic Filipino ran food spot which I can absolutely appreciate. This is the kinda place that feeds a community and I'm glad to have been able to come find it and support this business. They took some time to address me and I think the ladies were a little thrown off by my presence considering that I don't look Filipino and definitely do not speak Tagalog. Either way, they got my order in and served it properly so that's all I really have to say about the service. They served me and catered to my requests and I'm appreciative of that. Give it a try if you've never had it cause you might've just discovered one of your newest and cheapest favorite food spots. Overall, DAYGOEATSAPPROVED✅

Google
Best SISIG I've ever tasted... anywhere. Even in the Philippines. I went there for lunch one time and I forgot my wallet... The owner (I believe) told me it's fine, that I can come back and pay another time. Wow, how kind. I was on my lunch break so I had no time to come back and would've just left without the food if he didn't allow me to do that. I came back right away after work and paid it. Thank you so much. Great food, the best in San Diego. Better than Titas in National City. Definitely visit this place!

Google
A FOODIE’S FIND🤩🤩. It’s all about tempered flavor of AUTHENTIC FILIPINO cooking without any hint of adulteration. None of that “fusion” stuff. FLAVORFUL street-food style service.👍👍 The eatery is very unassuming, tucked in strip mall. It’s a small, likely family-owned business that seems to be very popular to ethnic Philippine emigres and Filipino-Americans as well other locals. It’s a serving counter of freshly cooked food.👍👍👍The menu is on the board, but prices on the board are catering sizes. It very inexpensive: pricing is based on the size of the container (S, M, L, XL) that food is packed in. It’s street food style service. No frills. My most flavorful recommendations: 1. Fried fish: Fresh crispy fried without any greasiness. Simple salt/pepper seasoning 👏👏 2. Pinakbet: Classic Filipino dish of mixed tropical vegetables. The surprise was variety of Acorn squash has exquisite nutty flavor 🤩🤩 3. Kare kare: Classic stewed beef in peanut sauce. What was a pleasant surprise was the meat: it was a mixture of tripe, little bit of muscle and what I think was sweetbreads (thymus/spleen). It was superb. 🤩🤩🤩Feast with you palate! 4. Stewed taro leaf: another surprise 👏 The lowly young shoots/buds of taro stewed in coconut milk. It’s rich and delicate flavor😎 5. Eggplant torta: More like and omelet using an entire length of a Japanese eggplant. There others in the menu to try, perhaps when on another San Diego trip.

Yelp
The beef kaldereta is super delicious and Sisig is warm and just superb! Thank u R & B for always cooking the authentic Pinoy food!

Yelp
My recent go to for my Filipino food fix. Located in an unassuming strip mall it's a no frills spot. Their specialty is sisig. My most recent trip there was to get food for the office. When I placed my order for a tray of lumpia, the lady who took my order was rude. But when I walked in, I had no issues with the service. Maraming salamat po.

Yelp
Friendliest service ever! I enjoyed trying 3 Filipino dishes I have never had. The variety offered was very surprising for such a small out of the way place. 1. Pinatek: mixed vegetables stewed with an anchovy sauce. Probably my favorite of the three- with okra, green beans, pepper and bitter melon. It was mildly sweet as well as savory. 2. Stewed eggplant with beef in a tomato based sauce- I mostly enjoyed this one- except for all the fat and what appeared to be tripe. I enjoy tripe when it is deep fried or used for sausage casing but this stewed style was too squishy, fatty And gelatiny for me. I love fat either fried or melt in your mouth buttery but this was too squishy. 3. Stewed taro leaves with pork- I loved the taro leaves but hard pass on all the fatty pieces of meat in it. I am no stranger to fat, but this prep did not suit my palate. Overall very tasty. I felt the prices were a little steep- $9 per pint of food, but I don't have anything to compare it to. Everything was clearly lovingly hand made. In general I find Filipino cuisine to be a bit too sweet and fatty for me, but it was a tasty and fun adventure to stop in here at this nice mom-and-pop shop. When I am in Mira Mesa, I will definitely try some other dishes out.

Yelp
The standard Filipino food behind a glass partition eatery. The ordering process seemed quite hectic when there was about 7 people trying to order... possibly creat a line flow will alleviate that issue. But the food was good. There are signs that say best Sisig in SD. It was up there for sure.... But the bbq pork was cold and very fatty, which I'm sure is how some of the Lolos like it. Restaurant has nice indoor seating a plastic table outside... some empty boxes stacked against the wall seemed off but I assume it's for Togo orders and catering.

Yelp
First time at this place. My Aunties favorite go to for Filipino food. This place was super busy. There was a lot of "comfort"Filipino dishes. If you are a regular you would know what to order. I sure didn't. My Aunt had a lot of variety food at the table and I thought it was okay. Unique flavors and dishes I was not accustomed to but the lumpia. Lol But I tried it. The vegetable lumpia was already soggy. Anything paired with rice like fried fish is good I have to say. My favorite discovery was the taro chips!

Yelp
I came to R&B on a recommendation from a friend when looking for Sisig. I had previously tried Tita's Kitchenette so I already had a baseline expectation for a "fast food" style Filipino cuisine. The service was straight forward here as we walked in and ordered in an assembly line fashion. Questions were answered to the best of the staffs ability and special requests for certain sauces were accommodated for. The dining area is as expected for a casual asian restaurant. Food is served in takeout boxes on plastic trays and seating is first come first serve. Parking is plentiful and there are a lot of other shops nearby. The quality of the food was decent but to be honest I found the quantity extremely disappointing. For my dish specifically, I got rice and 4 entrees which totaled to over $35 dollars. I was nearly able to complete my meal by myself and had quite little leftover. This was a stark contrast to when I went to Tita's Kitchenette and spent around $40 dollars and was able to divide the meal amongst THREE people and still had leftovers for 3 meals afterwards. For the entrees like Dinuguan or Karekare, we were served an embarrassing amount of meat and veggies and most of the little container was made up of sauces. If I had to count I think there were maybe 3 pieces of meat in total on my Karekare and one piece of tripe which is not even a quarter of what I would've gotten at Tita's Kitchenette for half the price. Quality and taste are subjective but I think the food here meets the baseline expectation but my biggest gripe with this location is just the quantity of food is so small for how much more they charge compared to their other competitors who serve more for cheaper without any compromise to quality. Ultimately I would not recommend this location as it doesn't excel in value, quantity, or quality.

Yelp
I Love this place for the sisig and pancit! It's the best that I've had so far. I haven't tried anything else yet not a fan of Filipino food the this place right here is it ! There's always a flow of people in here so you know it's good and the service is great as well the ATES are so nice.

Yelp
Came for donuts in the plaza and no lie, the name "R&B" and Filipino drew my attention. After a hike I got hungry and thought this would provide some nice comforting food. Here was my experience. AMBIANCE: Parking: Plenty of parking. It is a shared plaza but I didn't have any issues. Seating: Generally group seating. Maybe 8 groups inside and a table outside so a total of 30 people. Vibes: Nothing too flashy but the businesses in the plaza seemed to be all ma and pa shops so that's pretty unique. The place itself is pretty comforting for Filipinos as it provides plenty of comfort and nostalgia such as the delicious food, the grit and grind sounds of workers in the back, the grab and go snacks, and the local customers it yields. There's a tv on sports which is pretty cool. A very casual spot for a yummy food adventure or place to bring your family. FOOD: 2 Combo - Your Choice Sisig (Recommend) Dubbed best sisig in Mira Mesa (and Manilla Mesa is a competitive spot). The verdict....solid! I haven't tried other sisig spots but this was a good one! It was freshly crunchy and not stale, good spices, savory, and that fresh onion gives it a good bite. Bicol Express (Recommend) It seemed more like binagoongan (shrimp paste) rather than coconut base. Either way, it was delicious! It was savory, meaty, stewy, and just overall comforting. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Great! It was busy but they were quick and friendly. TL; DR OVERALL: 4.5 Stars. I had a great time here, seeing the place filled with people, there's a reason why this is a local favorite. Reasonable prices, plentiful selections, and good food. I got to come back here to try more of their goods. Salamat, R&B Filipino Cuisine! #FilipinoFoodMovement TIPS: * Great for a post-hiking meal from Penasquitos Canyon.

Yelp
My new favorite spot for filipine cuisine in San Diego!! The inside is reminiscent of a cafeteria. We ordered a 2 item combo and got an additional side order and they give you a ton of food! My bf and I were full and we had leftovers. Chicken Adobo: Very peppery, juicy chicken leg, solid dish Pork Sisig: They said this is their bestseller and I can totally see why!! It is very well balanced - the pork is super crunchy crispy and good but there is a zesty flavor to balance it out! The onions also help to further balance the flavors. This is our favorite sisig dish Okra dish: Not sure what this is called but there's okra, green beans, and sweet potato. This is really good and the soup/curry tasted like shrimp! Ube mochi cake: I'm not a huge mochi person but my bf did like it a lot. It's quite dense but very filling They were super nice and the flavor and value you get here it just can't be beat! We've already recommended this spot to our friends.

Yelp
A friend told me the #Sisig here is the best with crispy lechon bits. Grabbed some to go with #ShanghaiLumpia. When I got home the lechon bits were crispy and tasty and a little sour from vinegar and calamansi (or lime). I don't eat this often so I can't say it's the best but I did like the crunch and it was pretty good The lumpia wasn't very crispy by the time I got home but if you have an air fryer set it for about one minute at 400 and it will crisp up There is a wide variety of Filipino cuisine to try that look pretty good and better than one closer to me (but their lumpia is tastier). I need to come back and try more dishes.

Yelp
Amazing spot in Mira Mesa for delicious Filipino classics, with generous portions at a reasonable price. They're so sweet and pile enough food to give you two meals with one plate! The sisig here is truly the best in town with its perfect crunch and flavor.

Yelp

Yelp

Yelp
I got the pork skewer ($4 each) and 2 item combo (half rice and half pancit, kare kare, and pork sisig). The skewers are a little expensive, but they were good. I wasn't a fan of the kare kare, but the pork sisig was GREAT. They pack the box with so much food, enough for two meals.

Yelp
Haven't been here in years. My colleague brought their sisig to work and I decided to visit again. Definitely an upgrade in the interior since I last visited. They have a huge, bright menu board. Indoor seating is a little close but available. I like that they continue to cook and replenish food and not just make a "batch" for the day. Their sisig was delicious, but the lechon was okay. Some parts of the meat were really dry and the skin wasn't crunchy and it was hard to bite. Eventually I gave up and threw the tough pieces away. On the other hand, the lechon in the sisig was tender and crunchy. I highly recommend the sisig and skip the lechon. They have so many choices to choose from. It's tucked away and not on the Main Street of Mira Mesa Blvd.
google avatar

Ferdie O.

Yelp
I love their sisig, kare-kare and bbq! I go back here regularly and tried out other dish and I am not disappointed. The only thing that I really do suggest is get a "better" kind of rice. The other places here in Mira Mesa especially the Chinese restaurants have very white, moist and soft rice! The service is fast, only the customers who can not make up their minds take a long time to decide lol. I'd give 4 1/2 stars.
google avatar

Joanne C.

Yelp
Their sisig and kalderetang kambing is the best! The customer service is superb, very friendly and respectful.

Yelp
Have been coming to this place as a local for over 15 years and it still delivers great food and service! We love family owned and will continue to support! Everyone around is always nice and friendly! Will continue to come another 15 years!

Yelp
Whenever I'm in the area, I make sure to stop by R & B Filipino Cuisine for some delicious to-go dinner. This place has become a regular spot for me, thanks to their consistently authentic and flavorful food. My usual go-to orders are the sisig and lechon. The lechon is always perfectly cut, with a delightfully crunchy skin. The sisig is a burst of flavors, not overly sour but just the right balance. However, on my recent visit, I decided to try some additional dishes, and unfortunately, they didn't meet my expectations. The $3 pork bbq kabobs were on the hard and chewy side, lacking the tenderness I was hoping for. The deep-fried whole fish turned out to be dry and stale. It was rather disappointing. Nevertheless, despite this setback, I'm still willing to give R & B Filipino Cuisine another chance. I'm eager to explore the other items on their menu and see if they can match up to the authenticity and quality I've come to love. If you're seeking unfiltered Filipino flavors, this place is worth a visit.

Jason L.

Yelp
I would rate this place around a 4.1-4.3 but since it is a smaller mom and pop shop, giving it a 5. Sisig was great, good amount of meat with the crispy pork bits. Chicken Adobo was okay, I have had better but great for the price. Beef Steak was good, nothing crazy :) Just beef and onions, made for a good protein only meal the next day with chickpeas. I got all this and half rice/ half pancit for around 20 bucks so great deal and great service from the servers. If you go around lunchtime, you may run into a 15 minute wait due to the line, but give this place a go regardless!

Yelp
I had their sisig almost a week ago now, and I'm still thinking about it. Sadly, I'm over 400 miles away now, but all I can think about is that sisig... I wake up craving their sisig, I go to sleep hungry for sisig, and in my dreams, I'm back in San Diego, eating the sisig over a warm bed of rice. Jokes aside, R&B has the best sisig I have ever had. I love how sisig is usually a refreshing dish with the onion and the innards(?) and it's been a go-to dish for me at Filipino restaurants for a while now. But R&B puts copious amounts of pork belly chunks and specifically, pork belly/lechon skin and that is what gives them the edge. The crunchy bits of skin in every bite are so satisfying. Pair the crunchy oily meat with the crunchy fresh onion on a bed of warm rice, you've got the most balanced bite of food, every single bite. I ordered the 2 item combo that comes with 2 items of your choice and rice or pancit - I chose to do half and half. For my 2 items, I picked sisig (duh) and chicken adobo. The sisig was the best I've ever had, and the chicken adobo was good but nothing to write home about. Their serving sizes here are huge. I'm a big eater and I managed to almost finish the tray (only because the sisig was heavenly), but I was way too full for dinner. For a light eater, this can easily be 2 if not 3 meals. If I lived here, I'd come here every day and get a 2 item combo - sisig and 1 random item a day to try all their dishes. Such a great deal and yummy selection. Given how good their sisig was, I can't wait to come back and try their lechon next time! They sold out during my last visit - which seems pretty telling!

Yelp
I ordered catering from R and B for a party. The beef caldereta was very tasty, the meat tender and generous portions . Their sisig had bigger meat chunks than the typical sisig, it was spicy and was a hit. I also ordered the green beans with tofu that was also very good and the veggies were not soggy. They were quite busy with the lunch crowd but one of the ladies was very helpful and packaged our order right away . She also made sure we got the fresher Leche flan off the shelf. I think the prices are pretty competitive and the food was well worth it. Big plus is the friendly service. Thanks R and B!

Yelp
I am so glad I am not limited by religion or culture to not eat pork. That is why I go here. Cicig and Lechon Kawali. Okay, I know that eating fried pork will kill me sooner, but I am willing to sacrifice the time for the enjoyment of good food while I can. The restaurant is simple, not a take the family to dinner type place, even though you can. It is like any choose your items type service. For me, it's usually a spot for lunch, I sometimes order extra for dinner at home. Take out is really what this place is about, as well as catering. I only wish I lived closer, but my body is glad it isn't.
google avatar

Ali D.

Yelp
I usually try to get the hair as they open at 11 when the dishes are freshly prepared. Both owners and staff are very friendly and cheerful thus creating a wonderful dining experience. It's 'turo-Tito' or point point (with your finger) style as to which food item you went to include with your rice or noodles. I love their 'sisig' which they are known for as well as the lechon jaw Ali and saiteed bitter melon plus other vegetable dishes. I highly recommend trying out everything so you'll have to dine a few times and figure out which are your favorites.

Yelp
Need some authentic Filipino food in your life?!? This is the place to be. It's your hole in the wall, filipino Kuya cooking in the back with your Titas serving the front. Come on in! It's friendly service with DELICIOUS food. You know the worst kinda Filipino food customer? ME! I'm a Filipino food snob. Don't get me wrong I AM 100% Filipino however, I can cook my own food. So for me to leave you a review 1) food better be on point 2) that price better be somewhere I can send my Lola, Tita, or Nanay to. Just saying. My tongue ain't broken and my wallet is cheap lol. So here it is your local food stop if you're at UCSD and you missing food from home. Or you're into Filipino food but you're on a budget; seriously you're gonna thank me! Sisig was the perfect amount of spice and sourness, Caldereta slices were tender and full of flavor not that hard beef cheap places try, AND the pancit...FLAVORFUL, not dry or missing any seasonings! I even looked for my mom in the back cause it tastes just like hers They also cater, so you got parties but don't have all night to cook for your party through the night into the next day like we used to old school?!? Well give this place a call, have them make you lumpia, pancit, sisig or whatever you need. As if this review didn't make you hungry already. Here's what I had today. Sisig, pancit, and Caldereta. Come by, trust me you, your wallet, and your Titas are gonna thank me!

Yelp
This place makes me so proud to be Filipino because the food is just *chef's kiss! It's pretty hidden. It's not located on the busy streets of Mira Mesa Blvd, but it's tucked away a little more inward towards the more residential areas. There is plenty of parking! I don't live in the area anymore, but my dad and I have gone here two days in a row and it got me reliving the good stuff about this place. I got a one item plate both times. They give you two big scoops of rice! The SISIG is one of the best sisigs I've had. It's pretty heavy with flavor, but wow... a must try if you visit this place. The second time I came I got the bangus. It was good, but could use a side of cut up tomatoes! The Sinigang was also so hot and flavorful. Definitely ask for your side of soup when you come!! I think this place just needs more desserts and drinks like how Manila Sunset is. THEN it would be top tier!
google avatar

Yelp
My favorite item is the Pork Sisig, an absolute must! It has lots of onions and a tangy flavor! I tried several other items and it's good. I only go here for the Pirk Sisig!

Yelp
Great little Filipino cafeteria in a strip shopping center. We picked up to dinner and deserts. Selections were plentiful. We had lechon sisig, bitter melon, pancit, and caraleta. Every dish tasted delicious. For desert, we tried ube mochi and variety hopia box. The ube mochi was chewy with a moderate hint of ube, very good. The hopia box contained four each of panda coffee, baby and ube. Each homemade hopia was hugh and flaky. The flavor and texture of the fillings were excellent. The hopias were the best we ever had. This place definitely earned a return visit.

Yelp
Best spot for sisig and lechon kuwali (deep fried pork belly)! Best time to go is in the mornings, before they run out of garlic fried rice. Lechon kuwali, fried tilapia & garlic fried rice ($11.49 + $1 upgrade charge for each specialty entrée): savory pork with the sarsa (sauce) is a welcome sweetness, 8.5/10. The tilipia was good, but no longer crispy, 7/10. You can pay $1 to add half pancit (noodles) & rice, or sub the rice for pancit.

Yelp
R&B is my go-to spot for Filipino food in Mira Mesa! I've been coming here since 2012 and I won't eat anywhere else. They are popular for catering for work and parties. They offer the most affordable party trays and lumpia in the neighborhood. The Sisig with crispy pork belly skin, raw onions, citrusy lemon juice, and pepper flakes is a must-try. It's like a pork salad or Filipino Laab. I always order the sinigang with just veggies, and the crispy fried fish is delicious too. The portions are a bang for your buck, and they have lots of desserts like flan, Ube cookies, and flaky mung bean pastries. The ladies here are super friendly and feel like my own Aunty's.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite Filipino hot food places to visit as they are affordable and delicious. My only issue is they close a bit on the early side if you're trying to pick up dinner and they run out of the good stuff when it gets closer to closing time. They have a wide selection of hot foods with these being some of my favorite: pancit, sinigang, caldereta, sisig and diniguan. You can't go wrong so give them a try when you're in the area!

Jay A.

Yelp
Food was decent but way *OVER PRICED*. Came to this spot and was charged $17 for a 2 item combo and came back the following week and was charged $18 for the same exact food, not sure why. If you pick other type of meat, they start charging extra but they don't tell you that part. Food is ok, nothing to over hype about like most people do on the reviews, maybe because Mira Mesa doesn't have much option as far as filipino food restaurants. If you want really good filipino food, go to National City! Worth the drive, no doubt!

Yelp
Best pork sisig ever! Wow! Huge pieces of lechon in the sisig. Recommended by my brother and sis-in-law. It's a small (dive) restaurant and there's always a line. Make sure to come early as they open. There's many dishes you can enjoy and we also tried their Pork Bicol Express. The sauce has amazing flavor and it's best to eat over rice. We will definitely visit and order from this place again. Masarap! (Delicious!) Now I wish I took a photo of the dishes!

Yelp
Food has become inconsistent. Today pancit had no flavor. You can tell without tasting because the noodles is so white with no soy sauce seasoning. On top of that their cooks have such a sketchy personality. We witness one of the male cooks blowing his nose without a tissue or napkin rather only using his finger and spraying all over himself. Then later witness him coming from kitchen handling food trays! Should have videotaped him but I never thought he would be one of the cooks at R&B. Disgusting!!! Guess he still acts like he's in bario Philippines. Owner has no quality control.

Yelp
The Caldereta dish looks good but the taste it's really terrible and very salty. And also their pinakbet to much salted shrimp paste :( and their sisig incomplete ingredients:( really expensive too . For me doesn't worth it . Not going back there again

Yelp
First time here, came around lunch time and soon after there was a steady line up out the door. The food is laid out in front of you so even if you don't know what you're ording you can see or ask. The place had so many different choices to choose from but I end up with two sets of 2 item combo. You can have rice or pancit (vermicelli) or both plus 2 items of your choice. I don't remember what were the items called but they were was sisig, chicken in tomato like sauce with peas, string beans and tofu, and eggplant with beef/tendon. None of them were particular spicy which was great. Each item was rich in flavor and tasted delicious. The portions were generous, enough to share for two people. The price was pretty affordable for the combo boxes $7-13 depending on 1 or 2 items combos. I also bought their egg rolls which was vegetarian but tasted great and not too greasy plus had a nice crunch not hard to eat. The service was great, I didn't know what to order so the lady who served me suggested sisig (pork with a lemony and subtle spicy kick to it). The box was packed so the second item was put in another plastic round container. If the item had a lot of sauce, it would be saran wrapped, so were the additional sauce containers to avoid spillage. Overall great food, price, service and clean environment. I'll definitely come back! Plus free parking in the plaza.

Yelp
It's been forever since i got to come back here but they updated their menu board and it looks alot nicer and more neat now! I came around 230pm and they still had alot of food! Almost everything was still available. I got the 1 combo with rice for $7. My choice was of course the SISIG! It's a must! They were so generous with the amount. I only got 5 pieces of lumpia (.50cent each) and as I was paying, I saw they sold some pork rinds so I also picked up a bag! Some other things I've tried is the pork adobo, sinigang and chicken adobo which were also good. Can't wait to be back!

Yelp
Below average to poor. First time we went, they were out of rice. We decided to try again to be fair. I ordered the dinuguan and pinakbet - both were terrible. The pinakbet had way too much bagoong, I couldn't even taste the vegetables. The dinuguan had no meat - it looked like all fatty bits. The igado was disgusting. Will never eat here again and wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Yelp
Stopped in to check out this place for lunch. My friend recommended it so why not. With a name like "R&B Filipino", I thought for sure there was Karaoke as well lol. Anyway, I ordered the combo with half rice half pancit with Caldereta and Sisig. The pancit and Caldereta were solid choices. What stood out for me tho, was the Sisig. It was really good. Lemony and crunchy with a little heat. Albeit, I enjoy Sisig on the spicy side. It was none the least delicious. It might be one of the best Sisig dishes I've ever had. Overall, a nice clean restaurant. All the ladies working were friendly. They were kind of funny because there were so many of them. They were trying to help each other, but it made it more confusing and hectic. It took a minute for them to finally bag my food for Take-out lol. Next time, I'll try some other item WITH the Sisig of course.

Yelp
Came here on a Monday a little before 5pm. Got the 2 entree combo rice plate with sisig and lechon kawali. The serving sizes are pretty generous. The sisig was so flavorful - sour and savory with brightness from the onions and some crispy bits as well. The lechon kawali was ridiculously crunchy with big chunks of fat. The two scoops of rice were perfect to balance out all the fat. It came with a small side of lechon sauce. I wish I had some vinegar to cut more of the fat, but it was still great. Lasted me two full meals. With two water bottles, it came out to just under $20 including tip.

Yelp
On the expensive side but I choose R&B because the staff is the best in the world and everything I buy...yummy yummy yum an understatement. Best Filipino food in Mira Mesa.

Yelp
Not a fancy place it's a typical turo turo (point point) Filipino eatery however, the peeps are super nice, everything is authentic and the portions are huge. Overall is a great value and excellent choice for PI eats. Hidden gem in a strip mall, 8 small tables inside, not to missed. I will be back to try what seems to be their killer app, the Sisig.

Yelp
I got the two item combo with chicken adobo and another pork with sauce because the sisig was out. That's my main tip is they close at 6pm but if you get there around 5 or 5:30pm they might be out of all their good stuff. Customer service is the majority of the stars here, they were all Titas (aunties) working the counter and register. I'm not Filipino but I felt the warmth and welcome. We also had them cater an event and that's how I heard about this place. Food was great when we catered. Tonight I just got there too late.

Yelp
If you know anything about Mira Mesa, you know that there are a number of Filipino restaurants to choose from. You might be torn between the many options of Manila Mesa, but no longer because this is the one. The perfect lunchtime meal that will fill you up and make you sleepy until 5PM, this place has the best pork sisig in town. I always come around lunchtime with my coworkers and it is always packed! The food is all laid out before you in the cafeteria style. You can order each dish individually or as a combination plate! My go-to is the 2 item combo plate with rice, pork sisig, and beef kaldereta! But there are so many options you can't go wrong. You can also add some lumpia shanghai or some pancit on the side! Unlike some other Filipino spots, the sinigang is a little bit extra but is well worth the extra 50 cents! If you ever have questions, do not be afraid to ask because all the workers are super friendly!

Yelp
I ordered via phone for pick-up. Got their pork lumpia and sisig for catering. DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Their lumpia is at a great price for how large and how good they are. They were such a hit. And their sisig was nice and crispy and had plenty meat on the pork belly. Customer service was nice and organized as well with the amount of catering orders were being picked up at the same time for holiday parties. Very impressed and would definitely come back again.

Yelp
This is our go to filipino restaurant. We call it the "karinderya" because it's like the one back home in the PI. We also order food for potlucks here. Their lumpia is very good. I would recommend their sisig and adobong pusit as well. Their prices have gone up but so does everything in SD. If you are craving for filipino breakfast, stop by during the weekends. Their tapsilog and tocilog is a must try!

Yelp
I am not sure why their Menudo does not have meat. When we bought menudo this past weekend. The stew contained Vienna sausage, potatoes, carrots, garbanzo beans, and lots of liver. Is this a different menudo recipe? The pancit tastes like lemon and black pepper. Disappointing.

Yelp
The sisig is just top notch here, loved my portions, loved the pancit. I think the pork skewer was a slight let down but the sisig.....I could eat trays of. MAN. This place was very busy, packed with Filipinos.
