Where To Get Sushi Delivery And Takeout In NYC

"For a chain, Haru is surprisingly good. It isn’t the cheapest spot in the world (you’ll probably wind up spending around $40 on your sushi), but it’s one of your best takeout options in Midtown, and there are locations in Hell’s Kitchen, FiDi, and the Upper West Side as well. Order delivery or takeout directly from their site here." - team infatuation

Haru - Review - Midtown - New York - The Infatuation

"If someone played a large-scale game of NYC Operation, Haru would go right in the Times Square heart spot. There are a few locations of this sushi mini-chain around the city, and the food here is reliably good (but it probably won’t be the highlight of your evening). All in all, Haru is one of your better options for a group dinner this close to the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. RESERVE A TABLE WITH RESERVE A TABLE" - Hannah Albertine

Google
RA Sushi in Times Square is a lively and vibrant spot that makes sushi fun! The atmosphere is upbeat with a modern, energetic vibe—perfect for a night out with friends or a casual date. The menu is full of creative rolls and fresh sushi, and the cocktails are inventive and well-crafted. I tried the miso Chilean seabass roll (if available) and a few signature rolls—everything was flavorful and beautifully presented. Service was friendly and attentive, though the place can get a bit noisy during peak hours. Overall, it’s a great option if you want high-quality sushi with a fun, social atmosphere in the heart of the city. I’d definitely come back, especially for happy hour specials!

Google
Great location, just steps away from Times Square. The interior is stylish, and the red tones give the restaurant a really cool, vibrant atmosphere. The food was delicious and definitely worth trying — I would absolutely come back. My only suggestion is about the music. The day I visited, there was a DJ playing, and while the music itself was good, I was expecting something a bit more in line with Japanese vibes — softer and more relaxing. The volume was also a bit too loud for my taste. Overall, a great experience and a place I would definitely recommend.

Google
Came here with some friends for a casual lunch on a Saturday and, despite being a literal 30 second walk from Times Square, it was surprisingly empty! There were tons of menu options and the happy hour specials looked excellent. I had the black pepper teriyaki wings and cucumber avocado roll, both of which were good. They didn’t blow me away or anything but it was still enjoyable! My boyfriend also enjoyed his poke bowl. Quick service and solid food, although maybe a bit overpriced for what you get. Overall though I would come back!

Me and a friend stopped in this restaurant for lunch. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and was greeted and sat at a booth. Levi was our server and he was nice! We had the tasting menu and we ordered: Spritz Up Your Life Old Fashioned Garlic Edamame Ra ckin Shrimp shrimp Tempura roll Ra ckin Roll Sake Flight Hibachi Filet mignon and chicken Seafood Udon Toasted Cheesecake Chocolate Brownie The food and drinks were so good! My favorite was the Udon! All in all an amazing experience!

Google
Superior atmosphere pairing with a perfect date night, girls night or business casual vibe. The music choice was great because of the live DJ. Our bartender Tiara had great menu recommendations. The GM Chris was walking around each table giving an even more personable experience to all of us. 10/10 can’t wait to come again.

Google
There’s a reason why this place is empty during lunch…the food is mid to below. The sushi itself is great and fresh. The actual food such as miso soup and chicken hibachi burrito don’t have much flavor. It’s deft a place that prays on tourists. The fried sushi rolls are so deeply enriched in oil that all you taste is fried not even the fish. The server was nice and super attentive. He’s really personable and passionate. It’s one of those places where you think cause it’s a franchise that has upscale pricing you’re getting amazing quality so you believe the food is gonna be great and you try to convince yourself the food is great when in reality it’s mediocre.

Blanca L.

Google
This establishment run by GM Chris is welcoming, professional and delicious! They have wonderful happy hour specials from 3-6 & 9pm till closing. What caught my attention the most is how welcoming the GM is. He saw to it that all of our needs are met. If you are a fan of Benihana then think of as a twin sister but with more variety of fresh sushi. Open late and conveniently located in Times Square.

Google
RA Sushi was a great experience from start to finish. The staff and manager were extremely attentive and genuinely kind. Annie went above and beyond to take care of our table and made sure everything was perfect. The restaurant was clean, the ambiance was fun and inviting, and the food and drinks were excellent. Definitely a spot I’d recommend and would visit again.

Yelp
Consistently a good sushi happy hour with drink specials. Usually there is space at the bar. Good environment, sushi is delicious, but wish there were more HH options for sushi rolls.

Yelp
We went to have a quick bite before our show. The service was excellent and the decor was pretty. The food was tasty, except for a few items as described in my pics. I would definitely go back for the happy hour mocktails!!

Yelp
Great sushi restaurant if you're in the area for a show. Quick service and good sushi.

Yelp
Shoutout to servers, but poor management. Didn't accept a printed certificate (gave it in before I ordered and management said ok) because bar code wouldn't scan. So ended up paying full price on regular menu with a 'small' 17% discount. Also took away my takeout order that I placed for no reason. Like I couldn't afford it?? Also promised drinks (just tea and one soda) would be taken off the bill, but bill still came with charges. By that point I'm done and wanted out. Just want to emphasize my servers were wonderful, but management need to learn how to honor a certificate and maybe they could speak with the corporate about it and not it's on me to do so.

Yelp
Service: 4/5 Food: 3/5 Ambiance: casual, but you can still go for date night They offer good birthday perks: $20 off on your birthday + $10 off on your half birthday. Being in the theater district means that it's popular amongst tourists + a little overpriced. Also, I think the manager and some of the workers speak cantonese. What I Ordered: Gramercy Roll- jalapeños were too spicy for me, but the rest was good

Yelp
The atmosphere seemed like a little a fast food place but large with plenty of seating. Not very crowded at all. The lobster spring rolls seems too soft like it wasn't fully cooked. It may've been prepared in advance or sitting around since it wasn't fresh and had no taste of lobster. The Calamari was extra crispy but more of like onion rings so you didn't really taste the calamari although they were an interesting change. Both pokes were good although I would've preferred more fish. Not much sauce but I actually prefer that rather than the other extreme. The signature rolls were good but all seemed to have too much cream cheese or peppers. Not sure why that is popular but i prefer to taste the fish rather than mask it. The service was fine and attentive but occasionally forgot when we asked to a fork, more water, and extra napkins. Good location but better options around the area.

Yelp
Very nice sushi restaurant right in Times Square. Junita, the bartender was attentive and took great care of me. The chicken hibachi and calamari were amazing, and the presentation of the food was beautiful. The service was great here, the managers Chris and Annie stopped by to ensure I was being taken care of and they were extremely welcoming. Great atmosphere and service all around.

Yelp
Great shareable plates to enjoy with your friends! Try everything. It'll be good! Have fun!!

Yelp
Stopped here for a quick bite before heading uptown and the service from all employees was great they were very friendly and attentive! I used a birthday certificate and had no issues redeeming it my server did mention that you just can't use the certificate on happy hours menu items or alcoholic beverages. I got the crispy calamari and shrimp tempura hand roll and they were really good would definitely will come back for happy hour since it was not packed! Restaurant was very clean and felt like a break from the hustle and bustle of Times Square.

Yelp
I got a $20 birthday gift certificate from them and decided to check them out. I used to go to the UwS location but sadly saw it closed and made the trip to Times Square. The service was great; everyone was so friendly and accommodating. To use the certificate, you had to come on a weekday (Monday-Thursday) for dine in service only. We went at 7:30 on a Wednesday and the restaurant was about 1/4 full. It's a large space, huge bar and lots of tables. I'm giving them three stars because I wasn't a fan of the sushi. We ordered the sushi platter for two $80 which came with 4 rolls and 12 other sushi pieces. It was enough for two people but the quality of the sushi didn't impress me. I didn't like their version of spicy Mayo, specifically in the spicy tuna roll. Even with another free $20, I don't think I will be returning. The location for locals is not fun to get to and the quality of the sushi wasn't great! There are plenty of other great sushi spots much closer to me.
google avatar

Alexus S.

Yelp
I had a great experience at RA Sushi. The service and rolls were phenomenal! To be completely honest, I have/would only come here for Happy Hour or if I had one of their $20 gift certificates (you get them for your half birthday and your birthday!) because it's just so expensive. Don't get me wrong, the fish is really fresh and theirs rolls are unique and delicious, but there are also other places that have just use good rolls and they're not nearly as much. However, if you have the money then by means! Like I said, it's a great place with such delicious food and I wish I had the budget to come anytime. On that note, highly highly recommend signing up for their mailing list ($10 off bill) so you can get the $20 half birthday and birthday certificates! They have strict guidelines (e.g. you have to print it, can't use during hh) but it's literally $20 with no minimum or anything!! The Happy Hour specials are great and it's Monday-Saturday from 3-6pm and includes snacks, rolls and drink specials!! Highly recommend- inside was clean and cute, staff was great and overall experience was excellent.

Yelp
This place was honestly just okay. We came here because if you sign up on the website and add your birthday they send you a $20 gift card to use Monday-Thursday. We ordered the sushi for 2 platter which came with spicy tuna yellowtail salmon tobiko and a few other pieces I cannot remember. The sushi itself was good but nothing great which is why I gave this place 3 stars. The spicy mayo was spicy but also tasted like they put a lot of citrus in there which gave it an odd taste compared to other spicy mayos I've tried. The service I will say was excellent. They were quick and checked in with us and always had a smile. It's because of the service I would return but I would try an entree that wasn't sushi. I would also wait until I got another birthday coupon as this place is expensive given it's location in Times Square. The restaurant itself is decently sized and played modern music, stuff you would hear on Z100 if you're a local New Yorker.

Yelp
Another delicious and amazing dining experience! Super staff, beautiful atmosphere and beyond excellent, fresh and perfectly prepared meals! My favorite midtown restaurant!
google avatar

Yelp
I've been wanting to check this place out. RA Sushi Sushi was the former Haru, and they have the same setup as Haru. Service was busy! I reviewed what others have written about their experiences, and based on what I've read, the Chilean Sea bass was the way to go. The ambiance was buzzing and noisy because it was happy hour and prime time dinner. The Chilean Sea bass was very good. The fish was grilled perfectly, and the asparagus had the perfect bite. I loved the pumpkin puree. I decided not to get intoxicated, so I got the passion fruit mojito mocktail. I would definitely return for happy hour.

Yelp
the good was great and fresh with amazing service. The atmosphere is very nice and chill and the prices are great for the area. Once you order some sushi, you will want to go back for more.

Yelp
We loved it and were not an easy group to feed with so many dietary restrictions but we had assorted specialties rolls and tempura , steak fried rice and sone sake and cocktails-everything was beautifully presented and the wait staff were lovely -they knew we needed to make a show and they catered to our time restraint-we did not try dessert but we will go back again

Yelp
Well I have egg on my face due to an off day at Sushi Ra Times Square this past Thursday. Normally, this is our GO TO place! The staff know us and most greet us genuinely very warmly and give us top notch service. We brag to feiends and often take them to impress them. On Thursday I brough my best friend from work. They are a cook in a school cafeteria, so they know all about safety and service. We were seated and pretty much ignored. Our waiter Sandy or Andy said he would right with us. Our bus boy recognized us and we asked for water and our waiter because we wanted drinks right away for Happy Hour. Our lovely bus boy got us our water and then told our waiter that our table wanted to order. Waited and looked over to see waiter talking, so I waved him over and put in our drink requests. He complained that he is the only one. We waited very long for our drinks and saw people seated after us getting drinks. We called him over which was not easy because he was not looking over and asked if we were ready to order and we said we did we want our drinks. He asked if he put them un he said yes he was waiting and blamed the bartender. We gave him the appatizer orders and SPECIFIED THAT SOMEONE IN OUR PARTY WAS ALLERGIC TO INGESTING FISH THEN continued to wait. WHEN THE MISO SOUP CAME WE ASKED IF THERE WAS ANY FISH AND THE SERVER SAID YES FISH FLAKES. NOPE PLEASE TAKE THAT BACK. Our drinks came and our usual favorite the Cucumber Collins was terrible! The waiter said THE SOUP HAD NO FISH. We explained and he went to go argue with the bus boy we liked and trusted. The waiter took teh drink back. We were apologizing profusely to our friend. DALE, another waiter we love came by and we said we wished we had him instead. He confirmed that the niso soup had Bonito Flakes and brought over a salad. Our waiter complained that they we were short staffed. He promised an extra salad that never came to make up for the Miso soup which he continued to insisist was fiah free! A nice manager-like lady came over with a replacement cucumber collins drink free my fiancee was so upset she no longer wanted it. I loved my drink and she drank that instead. OUR guest was drinking the complimentary drink when our waiter tried to take it away when we explained a nice worker brought it over to make up fro the other one since it was a different bartender. The waiter complained so very much it that it negated his apology. We did not want to hear it anymore. Do not ever bash your employer. We love this place and never saw you before and do not want to ever see you again. We tipped because we want to come back, and we would never ever stiff anyone. We also tipped the bus boy seperately because he really looked out for us. A rare off day. Everyone is allowed that but it is a bad first impression for our friend who was there for the very first time.

Yelp
Note: if you're coming to redeem your birthday voucher, you have to dine in, come Monday - Thursday, and order from their regular menu (not happy hour or lunch special). I made the mistake of ordering from the lunch special and was unable to use my voucher. Besides that, the food was delicious and a great value. I got the salmon bento box ($18) and it came with fried shrimp pancakes, california roll, rice, broccoli, a choice of miso soup or salad. Definitely very filling! The service was great too and they offer free photos which was a nice touch.
google avatar

Katie T.

Yelp
Came in on a Sunday for a very early dinner. It was pretty quiet and empty but I think it was because it was still very early. Service was nice and quick, drinks were good. My friend and I ordered quite a few things off the happy hour menu and everything was very tasty. The happy hour deals were pretty good too. We had some gift vouchers we wanted to use but they said we could not use them on happy hour deals, only regular prices which was disappointing. Otherwise a good experience!
google avatar

Esteban E.

Yelp
The location and ambiance were just fine, and our waiter was friendly and very attentive. The food; however, could have been better. The Unagi and Tenderloin were both fine, but the Spicy Tuna was mushy and had too much vinegar or something. Wasn't good at all. The Hot & Sour Soup was just Miso with some noodles, black mushrooms and scallops. The scallops were riddled with big rocks which almost broke my teeth. The Gyoza was straight from Costco, as were the Edamame. If you're going to buy your food from Costco, at least do something to it to make it unique. Seems like they just followed the instructions on the bag. :(

Yelp
Decided to stop by after a long work week. The food was AMAZING. I had the Spicy Salmon Jalapeño roll, glass of Pepsi with a sliced lemon. The salmon tasted nice and fresh with pieces of fresh jalapeños for a lil kick. Customer Service was friendly and and helpful. It was a little busy however, there was not a long wait to be seated nor to get served. The ambience was very nice for a date night, family night or a chill night. I think this will be my Sushi spot now..I REALLY enjoyed. Try 'em!
google avatar

Fiona O.

Yelp
shared the dragon roll with friends, and i got the shrimp tempura roll for myself. everything generally tasted alright, but the shrimp tempura roll was a little cold, and it fell apart at first touch. i would compare it to grocery sushi (but a tinge better). the dragon roll was better in my opinion. i left still slightly hungry, so im disappointed since i did pay almost $30

Hanna U.

Yelp
Food was great! We ordered Sushi for two. Excellent fresh fish. We also had salmon Poke which was very tasty.

Yelp
Great food, excellent food and amazing service. We love the sushi and the service is exceptional.

Yelp
Wednesday night out for a Broadway show, but first: Sushi! We were all set with our tickets to go see Harry Potter & the Cursed Child at the Lyric Theater on 43rd St and RA Sushi is perfectly located directly across the street. A 5:30pm reservation is also perfect for the 7pm showtime. My sister even had a 1/2 price parking pass for the Icon parking garage next door, so everything was within less than 1/2 block walk. Seated in the back, we started with appetizers and then entrees. Everything came out at a fast clip and we were finished in plenty of time for the 7 o'clock curtain. Gyoza, Agedashi Tofu and a Gramercy Roll started us off. All were very tasty. My 2 sister's entrees: Chilean Sea Bass and Teriyaki Chicken, both perfectly grilled and seasoned. My wife's Chirashi Poké Bowl looked awesome, but she polished it off and I didn't see a piece of fish, just got a single edamame bean. But my Hibachi Filet Mignon and Scallops was perfect also, with grilled tender pieces of beef tenderloin and medium sized sea scallops accompanied by grilled mushrooms and vegetables and a mound of fried rice. RA is a great place for pre-show dinner and being in the heart of the theater district, the convenience just can't be beat. My only regret was that we didn't get here even earlier to enjoy the Happy Hour specials.
google avatar

Dani M.

Yelp
Really loved the ambiance and the food was amazing. I loved how many options the menu had. Great place for people who love sushi and people who aren't sure about sushi, again because of the endless options. Our server seemed annoyed with us from the start because we got drinks at the bar while we waited for our table, but that was the only downside.
google avatar

Ying G.

Yelp
Very pleasant atmosphere and beautifully presented and delicious appetizers and entrees! Perfect after an evening at MOMA. On our list to return when we go to the theatre un the future.
google avatar

Yelp
We LOVE RA Sushi! The one in San Diego closed. The Viva Vegas Roll is incredible. They also had a great happy hour for food and drinks. It could use better atmosphere as far as decor.

Yelp
We were right in time square and searching where to have lunch , this popped in yelp . The food was delicious, loved the agidashi tofu , the tacos and the gyoza was amazing too . Service was excellent and the ambience was really good. 3-5 they have happy hour for some of the items . I highly recommend
google avatar

Yelp
Recently came back RA sushi for a quick bite to eat and ordered their salmon avocado roll. Not terribly priced considering RA sushi is in the middle of Times Square! And pretty tasty. Service was quick and there was lots of seating. Seems like a great place for big groups or bday dinners with lots of guests. I ate on the earlier side but it was already getting busier when I left. You can make reservations but I was just able to walk in at 6:30 and get seated immediately.
google avatar

Verena S.

Yelp
I love their sushi. They make the food really fast and it is delicious. Definitely give them a try, because it's hard to find a nice restaurant around Times Square - you won't regret it!
google avatar

Stephanie L.

Yelp
Not a vibe. We got into the city late one night and had very limited options around our hotel. Came here and while it was easy to get a seat it was most likely because the food was sus. The sushi grossed me out a bit and didn't seem fresh. The crispy rice was over cooked and too chewy. All in all we didn't even end up eating everything because the quality seemed so low and we were afraid of food poisoning with the raw fish. Service was also quite slow. I wouldn't recommend.
google avatar

Linda G.

Yelp
Specialty Roll variety & flavor - Sushi Quality - Service - Atmosphere - Drinks - Conveniently located near theater we were going to. Appetizers good, drinks were strong and good with variety to choose from. I expected more choice of specialty rolls. Sushi was fresh. However I've had better. Hibachi dinner was good. Nothing terrible but nothing amazing either.
google avatar

Marina W.

Yelp
Loved eating here. We were immediately sat at 4pm on a Sunday. We had speedy service and when we had to wrap up our meal quickly to make an appointment the staff were very accommodating. Sushi was fresh and delicious. I would eat here again.
google avatar

Derek S.

Yelp
Came by for dinner the other night and it was a mediocre experience. Being near Times Square, this was catered to tourists. We were placed in the back room and our server wore a mask and vinyl gloves. Started off with the ceviche taco and it was lackluster. It was bland and the corn taco was rather bitter. The chicken dumplings were also lackluster as the chicken was rather dry. The miso black cod was a perfect small plate. The fish was delicately grilled over a bed of lightly grilled and chopped up asparagus. The tempura shrimp was lackluster as this came out slightly cold and the breading was rather thick.
google avatar

Jennifer D.

Yelp
It was a beautiful restaurant loved the scenery, the service was pleasant. The food was good I just don't think it was worth the price.
google avatar

Kyla Z.

Yelp
The sushi was ok, but expensive. It would be if e if I had stayed for a meal, but I got take out. I know better for next time. There are far better less expensive choices.
google avatar

Bk T.

Yelp
came here for happy hour and it was exactly what I needed. I ordered the volcano roll, the chicken skewers, and a passionfruit margarita. The chicken skewers were a bit dry so I was a bit disappointed as this was supposed to be a menu item that's a signature Japanese dish, and I was looking forward to that. Overall though the service was pretty good and the ambiance was very much a happy-hour vibe. I may not order the same thing next time but I'll likely return.
google avatar

Jennifer V.

Yelp
Crazy monkey roll was the favorite but all the rolls we got (Viva Las Vegas, Crazy Monkey, RAckin) were okay, nothing special Service was not great - we waited probably 30 minutes before we got water although we were here during a busy time Lycheetini cocktail was good
google avatar

PJ M.

Yelp
Fantastic sushi at a great price that's super convenient for seeing a Broadway show. Everything is was fresh and the service was lovely. The real kicker was the awesome music playing during dinner!! Get the ceviche tacos.

Yelp
Went to Haru for an early Sunday dinner before going to a show and had a nice dinner. We started with the Field Green Salad and the Pork Gyoza, both which were great for sharing, and then had the Chilean Sea Bass, Umami Fried Rice and a few Maki Rolls as entrees - all were solid. Our server Manussanan was very friendly, we had one miscommunication which we collectively laughed about and which she graciously corrected. Great choice for a pre- or post-theater meal.

Kathy Y.

Yelp
Fantastic Service! I dropped my credit card, driver's license, and cash while dining there. The manager tracked me down (via Open Table reservations), he called, left a message and texted. He worked very hard to find me. When we connected, he assured me that my stuff would be put away in their safe until I could come back to retrieve. Wow! Food was yummy to and location is great for a pre-show dinner. Will be back and thank you!
google avatar

Stella A.

Yelp
Agedashi tofu - these are not done right. They should be deep-fried tofu served in a flavorful umami sweet-savory sauce and topped bonito flakes. These lack the broth and the bonito flakes and have bits of red peppers and scallions as topping. Grated daikon is usually add (you mix it the the sauce with consumption) - also missing. Gyoza- should have a crispy bottom from pan frying. These were just boiled. Not what I was expecting. Sashimi sampler - this is the only decent dish from my meal. Would I return? Maybe. Definitely just sticking to only sushi if I do.

Benedetta G.

Yelp
Food was good Location is nice Service is quick Cocktail was super Price a bit too high

Yelp
I came here for dinner on a Wednesday night. There's a happy hour until 6pm on weekdays. There's deals on drinks and food. We ordered the edamame, the miso soup, the spicy tuna roll, the chicken skewers, and the Viva Las Vegas special sushi roll (shrimp, crab, cream cheese). The edamame and miso soup were good. The spicy tuna roll had cucumber skin (only the skin) which made it difficult to eat since the skin was so tough so it was not appetizing at all. Who puts cucumber skin in a sushi roll? The chicken skewers were dry. The Viva Las Vegas roll was very pretty but there's too much cream cheese so all I tasted was cream cheese. Service was very friendly and fast though. It's an okay place but I wouldn't go out of my way to go here.

Yelp
I came here to dine with my friends. One of them received a promo for her birthday. August is our birthday, so we agreed to meet here. The place is charming in the heart of Times Square. I read the reviews to make sure what to ask and order. We had a lovely waitress from Indonesia, Ellen. She was attentive and constantly checked on us to see that everything was all right. We shared a ceviche tacos appetizer that was pretty good. I ordered the hot chili shrimp garlic sauce that was very good too. I highly recommend this dish. Oh, btw we had shishito pepper too as our appetizer, of course. This is my new crush, so I have to get it when I see it on a menu. One of my friends ordered the same chili shrimp garlic sauce, and the other had sushi. Everyone's happy with the meals. I would recommend the cooked food at this place. Friendly and spacious atmosphere. It has the Asian taste in it. Good job!

Yelp
Really liked eating here for dinner. The restaurant is super spacious and well decorated. The staff was very nice in giving us order suggestions and came to check on us to make sure everything was good. If you go, you have to get the lychee cocktail... it's absolutely delicious!! The sushi is good as well - I didn't have super high expectations coming here because the Yelp rating isn't super high, but I really think Haru deserves a higher rating. Everything was tasty and we had a great time eating there. We also didn't have to wait long to sit either.

Yelp
The food was alright. The sushi is decent but the spicy yellowtail was served differently than I'm used to (pickled jalapenos vs fresh jalapenos). The service was excellent though, with very attentive employees. The atmosphere is nice too.

Yelp
Sushi is fresh. Can't seem to get enough of Spicy Titanic Roll. Always be my favorite.
