RaaSa

"Indian fine dining is on full display at RaaSa, where the menu is bright, refined and expansive as it meanders through the myriad Indian regions.Kick things off with an order of bhel puri, a palate-pleasing combination of sweet, spicy and tart that is a popular street snack. Coconut rice, garlic naan and raita make delicious accompaniments to the likes of garlicky lasoni gobi; patili ka keema (ground, boldly seasoned lamb redolent of nutmeg); and Hyderabadi lamb shank in a lusciously spiced onion- tomato- and coconut milk-sauce.If that doesn't leave you wanting more, desserts like kulfi falooda garnished with vermicelli, tapioca seeds and rose syrup, will do the trick. Drinks are equally strong, but there's no going wrong with the creamy mango lassi." - Michelin Inspector

My family and I dined at this restaurant recently. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff were very friendly and attentive, which we appreciated throughout our visit. However, there were a couple of disappointments. The portion sizes were quite small considering the price, and we had to wait nearly an hour after placing our order to receive our food. When it finally arrived, the taste was decent but nothing out of the ordinary—just the standard flavors you'd expect from typical Indian cuisine. Overall, a pleasant environment and good service, but the food and value didn’t quite meet expectations.

We’ve been dining here for the past five years, bringing our friends and family along because this place never disappoints. The food is always delicious, and the service is top-notch. Today, I tried a mojito, and my server went above and beyond—not only being incredibly attentive but also making the drink himself to ensure it was exactly as I described. A huge shoutout to the amazing kitchen team who consistently prepare such incredible dishes. If you haven’t been here yet, you’re missing out—the food is unbelievably delicious!

This is a three star experience for me. This is my third time there and this time I decided to actually write a review. They like to constantly come back and check on you while you’re eating - like you’re preventing them for sitting another customer when there was hardly any people ever in this restaurant. Both people are my party are handicapped and do not eat that fast - I do not consider spending a half hour eating at a buffet really that long, but they constantly come to your table and constantly refill your water if you take two sips out of it— very irritating. Additionally, if you are a slow eater and you’re not talking and you are concentrating on putting the food in your mouth and chewing it properly, they keep coming and asking you if you’re finished. No you idiot, it’s a buffet and it’s only been a half hour and there’s nobody waiting at your door so why the heck are you rushing me? So I asked if I could take the tiny little bit of food I had left on my plate because I did not like the rushed atmosphere of me stuffing it down my mouth and getting an upset stomach - I was told no I could not take it out in it to go box - so much for me trying to prevent wasting food. The food was mediocre, lacking spice, it was OK, but not great and then having to be harassed by somebody who clearly wanted us to move it along faster than I would’ve liked. my family will not be visiting here again because as far as I’m concerned, it’s not handicap friendly. Another thing you have to keep in mind is that the buffet is $25 a person and then they have the nerve to charge you for soda. We will definitely, as I repeated will not be coming here again. You had three times to make the situation better and you have not..4/6/2025 1 pm to 130 pm

Google
Well, the food is delicious, flavorful yet not overly (🔥) spicy. Highly recommended for fans of Indian cuisine. The restaurant was quiet at lunch with many empty tables, and the music wasn't my thing, but the buffet was large with a diverse offering of foods to try. I tried most and enjoyed every dish. Only bummer was the card machine didn't seem to be working and we weren't told until at time to pay... Could have been a bit embarrassing.

Google
This is a great find a real gem. They are Michelin starred in 2020. Everything is great. They have lunch buffet Fridays to Sundays for $25!!! Jit from the place really took good care of us.

Google
This is a wonderful restaurant. They're very polite and welcoming. The cuisine is fabulous. I'm very picky. My favorite is the spinach with garbanzo beans. I am vegan and it's perfect for me and so tasty! I highly recommend them. And the atmosphere is really first class.

I've been here more than a few times and this restaurant has gone down in both service and the food fare. The server was nice but inexperienced and extremely slow. Other orders were taken ahead of my table even though they arrived after me and my dining partner. The food took forever to come; over an hour. The restaurant was only half full. We ordered the malwani masa and the samunder se which seemed to taste the identical except for protein choice. After we finished eating, the check was brought to the table. No, we didn't request it. No, we weren't offered the dessert menu. No it wasn't closing time. I requested to speak with the owner and it took nearly 10 minutes for her to come to the table even though I saw the server ask her directly after I made the request. Restaurant was less than half full at this point. When she finally came over, I expressed my concerns including her delay. She made several excuses then ultimately apologized but by then we already were made to feel unwelcome and disregarded. As we were putting on our coats to leave the restaurant, one of the servers rushed out with a serving of Mango sorbet with two spoons, free of charge. We politely declined and left. I will not be back. Perhaps Raasa will not disregard this review as they did to my dining experience.

Google
good, decent Indian restaurant. Nice atmosphere. Being a South Indian, I felt the chetinaadu chicken was not authentic. But overall, it's a very good restaurant and a little pricey for the quantity they serve.

Yelp
Unbelievable! Will definitely be back wow delicious. Service was delightful, we had Ash Got samosa chat to start then (Photographed) Saag Paneer, Chana Masala, Garlic Naan, Korma Lazeez (chicken), Malwani Masa and Naan Bhature Love the atmosphere, music and cleanliness

Yelp
The food ar Raa sSa is so delicious! The service was excellent! The atmosphere lovely 5 stars...

Yelp
Good place for solid Indian food with excellent service. We started with the samosa appetizer which was great with a nice crunch and flavorful potato filling. The chicken tikka masala was a little spicy and well balanced and the sag paneer was wonderfully done with the freshest tasting cheese I've had at an Indian restaurant. Don't skip the garlic Nan bread...soooo good. Will definitely come back to try the lunch buffet.

Yelp
Great ambience. Good parking area. Best of all good food, service and price point. Michelin bib awardee. They have a great buffet on Fridays and weekend for $25 and a higher end buffet on special occasions (Father's day). Highly recommended you will love it.

Yelp
Visited here the other night, and certainly enjoyed the food. I've been wanting to come here for a while, and I'm glad that I finally made it. Here are the deets: Pros: --plenty of parking --good service from the waitstaff --full bar --they have a buffet fri-Sunday around lunch time. I plan to check it out, so I can see what their best dishes are. --the deconstructed samosa was pretty awesome. Cons: --the tikka masala was good, but had a slight sweetness to it. Had a nice spice though.

Yelp
Come here on Sat for 2 consecutive weeks and both days closed for party. Definitely never coming back. Don't like them that much to be rejected twice. And people are rude.

Kate C.

Yelp
We ordered delivery - the lamb burra chops isn't a huge portion but wonderfully marinated & roasted. Grilled onions & peppers on the side. The samosa chat was great - nicely made & spicy. The problem came with the malai kofta - there were only 4 small kofta floating in a sea of sweet too heavily spiced w cardamon and no other flavors so the cream & nuts took over. We didn't eat all the kofta

Chae A.

Yelp
They are now open for lunch buffet Friday-Sunday at $25. I've been waiting for their lunch buffet to return and so this is really welcome change. The food selections are excellent from vegetarian, to chicken/fish/lamb dishes. Definitely recommend the lunch buffet. The regular menu is excellent too btw.

Yelp
Very good place to try Indian traditional plates. I am Dominican and I love Indian food, this restaurant is better than any other Indian restaurants I have tried. The service from staff is very professional and attentive. If you would like your food more spicy, ask them to make it extra spicy. Very clean place! We had Samosa, Garlic Naan bread, Chicken curry and shrimp curry.
google avatar

Erika J.

Yelp
this is the closest Indian takeout spot for me and I love their food! ugh that naan, yum. chicken tikka misala is my fav, it's close to home so i absolutely will be ordering again & again lol

Yelp
Another fabulous meal at RaaSa! Started off with the pork chili, which was tangy a little hot and absolutely delicious. I've decided that even though I love everything I order, I'm going to try something new each time I'm here. For entrées, we ordered chicken korma and chicken gassi . Both were creamy and exceptional. The garlic naan that we ordered was pillowy and delicious! Service is always excellent, I really love this place! The food is quality!
google avatar

morgan a.

Yelp
Ordered delivery- food came cold, tasted old, had no spice. Bland and bad. Even requested medium spice on chicken tikka. Rice was definitely the opposite of fresh.the naan was also hard.

Patrick L.

Yelp
We just finished a disappointing take out dinner. When we arrived at 7:30pm on a Friday night, the restaurant was empty except for 2 tables of guests. I first noticed that there was very little chicken in my tikka masala and saag orders. And the spices seemed about 1/2 as much as well. The samosa tasted old as though it were been reheated from yesterday which was the same as our garlic and onion naan. It even tasted microwaved as the bread was very chewy in some parts and dried out in the middle. All the more disappointing as the food was wonderful when we asked them to cater our son's graduation dinner back in January. I guess we will be traveling to Hartsdale to "tried and true" Jewel of Himalaya...

Yelp
We ran in for a quick lunch while at Jury duty in a nearby town so we didn't have much time but wanted Indian food so we gave it a try. We let the waiter know we didn't have much time and he was happy to accommodate. We thought they had a lunch special because the person who dined with me had taken out their lunch specials before. Apparently they only have lunch specials for takeout. Anyway we ordered Chicken Korma and shrimp. We ordered the garlic Naan which was lite and fresh and we sopped up all the delicious sauce from the dishes we ordered. Everything was fresh and delicious. The waiter promptly brought our check as he knew we were rushing and got us out quickly.

Yelp
Fine restaurant in Elmsford. Our appetizer was excellent (delicately spiced, sweet & savory), our entrees were delicious. Service was on point. Areas for improvement: the ice cream was mediocre and the men's room was not clean. Otherwise: !

Chantal M.

Yelp
It's been awhile since we have had some delicious Indian food and the meal we had at RaaSa did not disappoint. The service was exceptional and we couldn't thank Jeet enough for being attentive service. I will be back and definitely recommend if your in the Elmsford vicinity.
google avatar

Tim L.

Yelp
Raasa is right on the main road on a stretch that's easily bypassed or overlooked if you weren't explicitly looking for it. When we went there were a few servers who sat us and brought out the food and drinks but the orders were all taken by a single person. This was one of the few gripes as it was the bottleneck for any requests. With a full restaurant our food took quite some time to come, but in the end the flavor and quality of it all had us convinced this is one of the best in the area. They seemed to get a non-stop stream of customers waiting to dine in as well as those picking up orders to go, which are all a testament to the delicious food they serve.
google avatar

Yelp
I have eaten here several times over the past few years and the food is consistently good. The selections on the weekend lunch buffet are exceptional especially the lamb and the shrimp dishes. Vegetable dishes are flavorful and very tasty as well. Good variety of items including Naan and Basmati rice. Waiters are efficient and friendly. Restaurant is impeccably clean and well appointed. Definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
Forget everything you know about Indian restaurants- because the owner and her husband have put down roots and changed the face of this spot on Rt 119 in Elmsford with something more modern. You won't miss RaaSa- just look for the stand-alone grayish 'house' style restaurant as your guide. I usually play it safe when it comes to Indian food: fritters such as Lasooni Gobi, Pakoras, Samosas and other foods that aren't heavy on the sauce. RaaSa's Lasooni Gobi took centerstage when it comes to those crispy edges and that tomatoey/Spicy/Sweet/thick- almost relish-type sauce. The ingredients in my Imli Eggplant were lush- just wished the eggplant was sliced thin and was 'crispy' as stated on the menu. Also in my order was the delicious Mango Lassi and moist Gulab Jamun to finish. And don't even forget the Indian music that was fire as I was about to do The Dougie on the spot while waiting for my pickup order. The space is elegant and modern with outrageous rose gold/copper hanging lamp balls. What's more, RaaSa has an excellent ventilation system in place because I didn't smell like food afterwards- and that's a fact. The owner was straightforward yet friendly and shows this is their true labor of love full of awesome and intense flavors.

Lauren N.

Yelp
We ordered take out lunch boxes from Raasa through seamless for pickup. One chicken tikka masala and one biryani. They both were supposed to come with extras to make it a lunch special, like naan, vegetable and dessert. The biryani was packaged without the extras listed in the seamless description. When we got home, we discovered this and tried calling in to deal directly with the restaurant to fix this. They told us the seamless description is inaccurate and the biryani does not come with naan, vegetable or dessert. They told us we should have called in to confirm before ordering on seamless. Who calls a restaurant to confirm item descriptions are accurate before ordering online? Shouldn't that be on the restaurant to make sure the listings are correct? They did not take responsibility or acknowledge their mistake. The food that we did get was dry, old and not tasty at all. The tikka masala was half cream. The biryani only had a few pieces of dry lamb. Usually we order Indian food from places in NYC and will stick to that from now on. Looks like they lost a first time customer... we will not consider returning.

Adelaide P.

Yelp
Excellent authentic Indian food. Service is very good and the ambiance is good. Easy to park in their lot.

Chia L.

Yelp
We came for the buffet on Sunday. The best items are : plain Nan ( so good they are good on their own ) , milk tea ( smooth , so good without sugar ) , fish paneer ( everyone going for it ) and the rice pudding ( not sweet at all ). But generally the curry is more suited for American taste buds as it is not as spicy as e like.

Howard K.

Yelp
We recently went to RaaSa with some friends, and remembered why we always loved this restaurant. The food was fabulous, the service excellent and friendly. The value was also wonderful, which can be hard to find these days. Go and enjoy.

George D.

Yelp
Definitely some of the better Indian cuisine in the area. Not sure why they aren't busier for the lunch rush
google avatar

Allana D.

Yelp
Wow the food at RaaSa is sooo good. It was on a list I got from someone who grew up in India of their favorite authentic Indian restaurants in Westchester I was not disappointed. Everything was very fresh and very delicious and I highly recommend RaaSa to Indian food lovers!
google avatar

Alex M.

Yelp
Solid Indian cuisine. Chicken curry - good flavor and spice. Just the right amount of spice without setting your mouth on fire. Garlic naan- light fluffy and some crispy edges which I like. Lassi- very refreshing and helps you digest the food. Great friendly service. Will def be back!

Sunil K.

Yelp
Amazing food and top class service! Went there a few times for birthday and anniversary celebrations in groups ranging from 7 to 20 people. Every single time the food has been delicious. My favorite is the goat curry.
google avatar

Karolina E.

Yelp
Good Indian restaurant, a little Americanized. Not as spicy. The room is clean and tidy, and I was left with a pleasant feeling of the place. The only thing after dinner my husband had a headache, which happens when they add monosodium glutamate to food. Hopefully it's just a coincidence and they cook without msg.

David A.

Yelp
Great food and service. Good selection of beers and cocktails on site. Sufficient parking in lot and side street.
google avatar

Lauren J.

Yelp
In love with the channa masala. Super tasty and not too spicy. Love their roti too. Perfect meal for a vegan. Thank you!

Leonardo G.

Yelp
It was really good, chicken tikka masala with rice and naan bread hit the spot. The server was nice and inside was nice with all of the art. After all it was really good.
google avatar

Gregg S.

Yelp
Decent food and service. My wife's dish was a bit dry and could have used more sauce. Skimpy on the rice- one bowl to share with one lonely pea in the rice.

Charles S.

Yelp
Hideous experience. Went to celebrate a birthday with my family, and I'll always regret it. The food is fine, but the staff went beyond unfriendly to actively hostile. Without exception, everyone working in the restaurant seemed to be angry that we were there. With all the excellent Indian restaurants in Westchester, it baffles me why anyone would pay to be humiliated at RaaSa.

Mike A.

Yelp
Very nice experience. I went with 2 friends and we shared 3 appetizers and 3 entrees. Everything was excellent. Will be back soon.

Carole F.

Yelp
very good food and nice portions. I come here quite often. The waiters are quite nice and accommodating
google avatar

Andrew S.

Yelp
Fantastic restaurant! Have always had a good experience here and all the food is always delicious. The staff is attentive and on top of everything-always making sure your water glass is full. I eat mostly vegetarian and the Aloo Gobi and Sag Paneer are both excellent and their Naan bread is perfect. The inside of the restaurant is nicely decorated and very clean-it has bright and welcoming colors with nice Indian art on the wall. The prices are very fair too compared to other Indian restaurants and they have an ample parking lot as well. I always enjoy coming here with friends and family-definitely my go to Indian restaurant in the area.
google avatar

Yuri G.

Yelp
We went yesterday to celebrate our family event and came to RAASA where we go periodically for indian food. It is THE BEST indian restaurant in the area and maybe in Tri-State area. We had Abiya Tikki, Samsa Chat and many other appetizers. All taste differently, with different set of spices and texture. The rest was a heaven of lamb with multiple spices, spinach dish, etc. What is even better in this place is an absence of loud music. Sometimes they have nice indian quiet music, sometimes no music. In RAASA you can talk, listen and enjoy food and dinner like at home. But at home I would not be able to cool like RAASA chef does! Highly recommended.
google avatar

David K.

Yelp
RaaSa is among our favorite Indian restaurants. We've eaten here many times and always love it. Tonight, my wife and I shared a Lasuni Gobi appetizer, which is perfectly crisp-fried with an awesome sweet and spicy sauce. I enjoyed a Lamb Gassi main and my wife loved her okra dish. The paratha was a great addition. RaaSa has been unusually empty during these strange COVID times (about 10% of capacity), although I noticed a handful of take-out orders heading out the door. They kept the blower on low and we felt very safe while indoors now that it has gotten cold. The waitstaff were all with masks and gloves, and they spaced guests out around the restaurant as far apart as they could. Bottom line ... delicious Indian with what feels like a safe dining out environment. We come often and will continue to do so.
google avatar

Victoria C.

Yelp
We are always so happy when we eat at RaaSa. The food is absolutely delicious and fresh. The decor is so bright and elegant. The service is always excellent and the owner(sorry I didn't get her name) is so sweet and personable. We will be back soon.
google avatar

Ahson P.

Yelp
The buffet used to be good but today's experience was quite disappointing. Biryani was all bones with almost no meat. The chicken tikka masala had 10 very dry stale pieces of chicken. Other dishes seemed like they had been sitting out there for a while and were crusting over. Not appetizing you say the least. When we asked the staff said they were bringing our fresh food. The second time we were told they were unable to bring out fresh food as it gets dry on the buffet table. By the time we left nothing had been refreshed. Disappointing experience.
google avatar

Claudia S.

Yelp
I like Indian food and this restaurant is certainly above many in terms of food flavor and service. I should order different dishes when I visit but I really like the ground Lamb and the chick peas. I am not sure if they offer buffet .
google avatar

Brad N.

Yelp
My wife and I decided to go for Indian while the boys were at hockey last night. This area doesn't have a lot of good Indian, and we'd never tried RaaSa plus it was near the arena - perfect! Quiet for a Thursday, though it was relatively early. The decor is simple and classy, the service - attentive and prompt. We were both in a lamb kinda mood, and opened with their Keema samosa. The pastry was flaky, and the filling tasty and not dry (key for a good samosa!). I had their signature lamb shank, which was fall off the bone tender in a spicy, aromatic sauce. My wife opted for the tandoori lamb chops which came out perfectly cooked. She couldn't finish them (5 in the serving!), so I had to 'help'! Everything was very well prepared and delivered. Highly recommend!!

Anisha J.

Yelp
We went for Mother's Day dinner. We were not informed that it was buffet style food when we made the reservations. We don't typically eat at restaurants with buffets and have always orders a la carte when we have been to Raasa in the past. They charged us $45 per person, food was cold and then on top of it charged 20% gratuity for a buffet! We used to go to Raasa quite often pre-pandemic and previously enjoyed the food. Our experience today was disheartening and we will not be returning
google avatar

Nimi R.

Yelp
Today I ordered for the first time. Lamb biryani, $21 Goan chicken $18 & rasmalai , tamarind sauce ,& coriander chutney, via DoorDash. Total bill $55. & DoorDash added $30!!! ( processing fee, service fee?, tax & tips) The biryani was dry & tasteless. The chicken curry tasted like the quick curry packets we buy in Indian stores for $5. Will not order again. I am a South Indian & was very hopeful abt this restaurant.
google avatar

Hemant D.

Yelp
Had a wonderful dinner here tonight while travelling The samosa chat was very well made, tasty and balanced with right amount of chutneys Bhindi masala was outstanding. The roti and rice were ok. Finished it with an awesome cup of masala tea
google avatar

Braydon M.

Yelp
The portions are hearty, the flavors are tantalizing, the service is respectful and prompt. Thank you.

N G.

Yelp
Exceptionally good. Very well spiced and ample portions for take out. Some interesting dishes on the menu not always seen. Staff was very friendly. Want to come back for dine-in and now have a new go-to spot.
google avatar

Ty C.

Yelp
Found this place when looking for an Indian lunch buffet in the Valhalla area. I am so glad that I found this place as they have a great number of dishes on the buffet, both vegetarian and with meat. The buffet was $15 and came with Naan. It also included a couple of desserts that were on the buffet. I will return for sure.
google avatar

Neenah C.

Yelp
The experience here was so amazing I don't know where to start. We came here for a Sunday buffet brunch and everything was fresh and tasted just really great. Buffet food was all fresh, despite it was well after 2PM. Immediately upon seating a freshly baked basket of naan is brought to our table. Buffet is $17 for Sunday and $15 for Saturday. We came on Sunday and was worth every penny. This is the Indian place that we've been searching for all these years, we will definitely come back for more. So happy you are in the neighborhood! Pros: Great Indian food Polite and pleasant waiting service Big buffet! Bright and modern decor Good selections of desserts Private lot parking Close to downtown Elmsford Cons: Can't think of any :-)
