The Best Vegan and Veggie Burgers in Portland, Oregon | Eater Portland

"Rabbits has come a long way since its start as the Sonny Bowl food cart. Now a neighborhood bar with DJs on weekends, the Killingsworth outpost serves burgers featuring a soft blended patty of vegan meat and lentils. The standard burger comes with tomato jam on a fluffy potato bun, while the barbecue version involves vegan bacon and dill ranch. Those who prefer tofu can opt for the deep-fried “chicken” burger made with a thick slab of OTA tofu. Pair your meal with classic cocktails like margaritas and aquafaba whiskey sours or Rabbit’s drink creations like the Hope For The Flowers laced with dainty elderflower." - Anastasia Sloan

Was in Portland visiting my partner and we found this gem of a cafe near our hotel! The food was so good we came back thrice. My personal favorite was the chickpea bowl, but it’s definitely worth coming in the morning for the breakfast bowl! The tofu scramble was really well made and complimented the tempeh which was out of this world. If you’re in the mood for something sweet, the cornmeal waffles are a delight. I personally loved the spiced peanuts, it was an unexpected but interesting combo. Owner was super friendly and checked up on us every time we ate there, and even shared some details on the ingredients used in our meals. Definitely worth a try in the area, would come back again as soon as I’m back in Portland :)

WOW. I was in Portland for a conference, and after coming here for lunch one day, I returned each day thereafter. The food is exquisite with the perfect balance of flavor. I’m not vegan (I came here for the gluten free options) but this food alone may have converted me! I was craving vegetables after several days of conference food. The BBQ was so nourishing. You know what else was nourishing? The team! The owner checked up on me to see how I was enjoying the food. He is so genuine and kind. You can tell he really cares about his community too. I began to get more takeout orders to take to my hotel, and he was so supportive of the other phenomenal vegan restaurants to try. Please support this business! It’s a gem that should live on for decades to come.

Very wholesome, healthy, and filling! The chai protein smoothie was delicious and dense. We filled up on it and felt good! Also got a breakfast burrito (yum!) and chickpea bowl (lots of variety and filling). The owner was so friendly. They also provided recommendations for other top spots in the city, including Mis Tacones where they previously worked. So much passion and friendliness! It’s also in a luxurious building, with lots of fun seating and decor.

They were SO friendly and the Peter Salad was incredible. I haven’t had that good of tempeh in a long time. My partner got the chickpea bowl and loved it, too. Highly recommend!!

Amazing hidden gem of a cafe serving delicious smoothies, breakfast burritos, cornmeal waffels (Gluten free) and magical bowls... we got the Incredi-bowl. I can't say enough good things about this stellar Vegan food experience.

Delicious! I visited for breakfast on a personal recommendation, and I am so pleased that I did. Really excellent value, and fills a super important niche balancing affordability, quality and flavor, in the heart of downtown.

The food is amazing! Good hearty, healthy fare. 💜The cafe is on the ground floor of an office building. It took us walking around the building to find the entrance. ☺️
