Beloved Portland LGBTQ Bar Sissy Bar Closes | Eater Portland

"I noted that Derek Palmer previously worked at Raven & Rose, which the text describes as one of several now-closed iconic Portland venues where he worked before Sissy Bar." - Rebecca Roland

Where to Find Super-Nostalgic Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup in Portland - Eater Portland

"The fanciest of the bunch, Raven and Rose still manages to fit the classic definition of this childhood pairing. A gooey mess of Raclette and robust cheddar covers slabs of rustic bread from Ken’s Artisan Bakery. In an unusual spin, the “traditional” tomato soup, thickened with rice flour, tastes just right with a creamy texture and a hint of sweet tomato. Served on a large plate, this soup-and-sandwich combo rests next to a seasonal field salad with greens from Stoneboat Farm — just because Raven and Rose is fancy like that." - Joy Church

Came here on a whim last night and was very pleasantly surprised. I love the concept of having a bar made out of a retired trolley car. The trolley car is from the London Bus Company and was an actual car in service at one point. Seating is either outside, or upstairs on the trolley. There are board games sitting on a table next to the stairs. This bar would be an amazing spot for casual daytime drinking with your friends on a day off. They offer a nice selection of beers, ciders and cocktails, and don’t seem to serve any food here. This is definitely a missed opportunity to serve British pub food, something I’ve always really wanted to try. I ordered a dry cider, didn’t try any of the beer or any cocktails as of yet. Looking forward to coming back again.

Extremely cool location. How cool to have some great local drinks in a London double decker bus ☺️ Owner is very helpful with selection to what you’re looking for. And Oregon wines are really tasty. Come along and enjoy 👍

We came here randomly on a visit. It's a cool double decker conversion that leans into some Harry Potter aspects which is fun. Solid list of draft beers, cocktails and wines available and you can bring food here from anywhere else. Go upstairs, relax and feel the vibes!

Fun with the girlies! Enjoyed my drink. Went in during the day but if we went later when the sun little down. It will probably look so awesome. Love the Harry Potter theme.

Was walking down the street on a beautiful day and saw a double decker bus that said "Bar" on it... need I say more. Had to stop in and check it out, they have beer of course and canned cocktails that they'll pour into a nice glass and garnish for you. Was recommended the Mai Tai so I got that and it was delicious... now o need to find out what brand of canned cocktail it was because I forgot. Photo booth area in the drivers seat, open air seating up top just a blast. The guy that was bar tending was really awesome, gave us the low down and steered us in the right direction. Check it out for sure if you're near the Cart Blocks.

An old London bus with a great selection of beer and the most friendly owner. What is not to like?

An awesome find for a "rooftop" bar with a very chill atmosphere. The bus is fun and has games and some Harry Potter themed decor. The owner is really friendly and the beer is super tasty. Put this on your list of places to check out.
