Best South Asian Restaurants in Metro Detroit | Eater Detroit

"This homey restaurant boasts many Bangladeshi staples, such as aloo chop, chicken korma, and fish curry, which is available in several styles such as rupchanda, also known as Chinese silvery pomfret fish. Finish off the meal with an order of pistachio and cardamom-flecked barfi and malai curry sweets, two milk and sugar-based desserts. For people trying Bangladeshi food for the first time, korma is a good place to start. Made with a yogurt or cream base, it’s a great option for folks in need of control of the heat level." - Serena Maria Daniels

Detroit’s Bangladeshi Restaurants Sell Thousands of Iftar Boxes During Ramadan | Eater Detroit

"On a typical Ramadan evening the owner stands behind a sprawling buffet of metal chafing dishes piled with tandoori chicken and chicken biryani, preparing dozens of prepacked iftar boxes—a service the staff has offered for about six years. The boxes, advertised as 12 items for $6, are stuffed with a mix of Bangladeshi staples (biryani, sana, fyazi, beguni, aloo pakora and more) and the restaurant adjusts its hours to serve later crowds; it produces roughly 50–70 boxes on weekdays and more than 150 on busy weekend days. Regulars praise the generous portions and consistent, “homemade” quality—one customer singles out a very tender lamb biryani as a favorite—while others enjoy smaller items like the fried peppers, making the iftar box a convenient treat for late-shift workers, families supplementing home meals, or anyone looking for authentic Ramadan fare." - Nargis Rahman

Food and ambiance were so great that we forgot to take photos of the rest of the items. Authentic Bangladeshi cuisine and exceptional service. Food portion is high and pricing was very reasonable. Very happy to have dined here and we wish them the best.

Radhuni Restaurant is offering homely Bangladeshi food. It was an absolute delight! We enjoyed a fantastic feast of authentic flavors, starting with Bhorta and comforting Daal. The Kala Bhuna was rich and tender, alongside the flavorful Chicken Karahi and Beef Tehari. We finished the perfect meal with traditional Deshi Cha. While we know there must be other Bangladeshi spots in the city and plan to explore more of their menu on our next visit! Beyond the delicious food, the service was wonderful. A special thank you to our server, Mr. Habib, who provided attentive and great service throughout our visit. If you are in the city and seeking real comfort food, Radhuni is a must-try!

Google
Deshi Chinese? Not quite authentic Deshi, but does the job. Ordered Chicken 65 and Chicken Manchurian and they almost taste similar. Their puri was good and fuchka is alright. If you’re looking for a Bangladeshi restaurant to try out Deshi Chinese, I would look elsewhere, but Deshi items may be good, haven’t tried.

We came from Virginia and stopped here to eat authentic Bangladeshi food and we were amazed. The plates were nice and glass and the place was clean. The food was fresh and spicy like we expected. Hands down this is the best restaurant in Hamtramck. This restaurant puts other restaurants like Aladin or Mouchak or bonoful on Conant street to shame.

Wow! This place is top notch! 🇧🇩 Food quality, taste, presentation and ambiance were very high and authentic. Service*** and cleanliness of the restaurant is quite impeccable compared to similar eateries. We had recently traveled to Bangladesh and stayed and dined at Renaissance Gulshan; went to Sultan’s Dine for Kachi Biryani, but this place has many items that tasted much better. We were so impressed and would love to back. So grateful for this restaurant and the chef; I travel the world; eat food, photograph and enjoy. This place was a delight. I am American-Bangladeshi, this is the real deal 🇧🇩: Can you believe they also have cold bottled water for us Americans 🇺🇸 - Tea and desert selection is also nice. Menu’s are beautiful! Just a pure delight, taste is better than Haath Bazar in Jackson Heights, NY; Premium Sweets, NY etc. The food taste and quality is on par or better than Premium Sweets in Toronto (Lebovic Avenue).

I would never recommend it. The food was very bad. The basmati rice felt like it was mixed and cooked with old rice. We ordered beef kala bhuna, but it was mostly spices with only 2–3 small pieces of meat, and it could in no way be called kala bhuna. The chicken roast was also bad. The dried fish was very little—less than 30 grams for $6. And the lentils were too salty. I would never recommend it.

I ordered Murag Pulaw and Chotpoti through Uber Eats for my lunch break and the experience was disgusting🤮. The pulaw had fish scales in it, how does that even happen in a chicken and pulaw dish? On top of that, the sour water (tok) for the chotpoti was spoiled and smelled bad. This clearly shows they have zero cleanliness or quality control in their kitchen. Totally unacceptable, unsafe, and a waste of money. I will never be ordering from here again. NASTY!!!!

This was my first time trying a bengali restaurant in Hamtramck, and I must say that I had a wonderful time. I adore Radhuni's Bengali atmosphere and vibes. The man who serving you is really helpful in helping you select your menu. We have Ilish fish, Rui fush, and chicken number 65. To be honest, Ilish was excellent, and the gravy on the Rui fish was delicious. The saddest thing is that, while I know it doesn't look nice without food coloring, I didn't enjoy how much a colorant was used in Chicken 65.However, food coloring is to be applied sparingly.my fingertips nearly turned pink for two days!Regarding the NAAN, it was good enough. We also tried fuchka with chotpoti. To be honest, it won't give you a 100% authentic Bengali fuchka flavor, but for the United States, I assure you that you shouldn't be expecting anything more.It was excellent.😍😍 Roshogolla is satisfactory level but passable 🫠Overall, it was a pleasant experience. Radhuni is a must-visit if you're seeking for a Bengali ambiance and want to eat delicious food. Environment 10/10 Staff 10/10 Food 8/10 Pricing level good. **free parking available but it might be booked in busy hour.

Yelp
The food here is good, there are multiple Bengali snacks to try like the Shingara and Samosas. The ambiance is not the best to be fair but the ambiance does not reflect the food. The Moglai paratha is very good, I would definitely recommend anyone to try that. Their food tastes good and service is quick. I would come again!

Yelp
This is the third time I gotta order like this two piece of meat, two piece of bone for a half an order.

Yelp
My friends at work decided to order about 20 carry out dinners from this restaurant and asked me if I would like to order a dinner also. I live in Shelby Township and wanted to try Bangladeshi food. I order a rice with tandoori chicken dinner for $15. It was horrible! I got 4 chicken legs that barely had any meat on them and they were so bad that the restaurant had to bury them in the rice to hide them. One of the "legs" had one bite of meat on it that it looked like a toothpick with a small amount of chicken on it. One of my friends dinners didn't even have the meat that was ordered. This dinner wouldn't cost anymore than maybe $6 to $8 at most anywhere else. A container full of rice, one hard boiled egg and 4 chicken bones with meat you would serve to a dog. I do NOT recommend this to people from Bengali or anywhere else!
