"Adding to the quickly growing empire of Radio coffee shops, the latest Rosewood location is taking over the former Try Hard Coffee on East 11th Street. Like the other two locations, the menu features coffee, cocktails, beer, and wine, plus a full food menu from Shortwave Diner." - nicolai mccrary, matthew jacobs

Highly Opinionated: The Best THC Drinks in Austin | Eater Austin

"Part of a three-location coffee-and-beer operation in Austin, this newest east-side outpost serves THC cocktails alongside its regular menu. The reviewer sampled the margarita-like Drink Your Weedies, made with Ocho Verde THC spirit, nonalcoholic grapefruit, lemon, honey, and a salt rim; its salty-sweet, clean grapefruit flavor was an instant hit. The drink contains 6 mg of THC and produced a light, floaty high that lasted about an hour. The author also noted that unlike alcohol there’s no burn with these drinks and that the location sometimes substitutes ingredients (the usual Drug Mule couldn’t be made due to a ginger beer shortage)." - Lane Gillespie

Austin Cafe Radio Coffee Is Opening a New Location in East Austin | Eater Austin

"I learned it's coming to 1115 East 11th Street (the former Try Hard Coffee space) in late summer 2024 after a "lightning fast" remodel. Being a much smaller, walk-in cafe surrounded by residential, it will have a full kitchen and serve coffee, espresso drinks, cocktails, and food inspired by the house food truck Shortwave Diner — expanding off its American diner menu to add more breakfast, dinner, and plated options. Unlike the original Radio and Radio East, this location won't host food trucks or a live-music stage, but the Wilsons plan DJ events similar to what Try Hard did. Drinks are intended to remain affordable, and the team says they'll push the beverage program further here to make it a very tight espresso and cocktail bar." - Nadia Chaudhury

Google
What a cool find! We had just eaten at Siti next door and needed a nightcap. So, we stumbled upon this amazing little restaurant/bar. It was quiet when we were there. The bartenders were very chill and nice. They have a wonderful outdoor seating area too but I’ll have to enjoy it when the weather isn’t scorching. The drinks were perfectly made. I ordered an old fashioned but less sweet - they definitely delivered! And hubby’s espresso martini was really good and frothy. I also loved that they made it with decaf. I am definitely coming back here soon - maybe even to eat or just chill with a cup of coffee.

Google
Tasty food, amazing service, HIGHLY recommend! Story time: my eight friends and I were trying to find a cute and affordable brunch place and, after two failed attempts to be accommodated at other places, we were invited into radio rosewood and the service from start to finish was exceptional! There were so many fun drinks to pick from and everything was so delicious!

Google
have not even taken a sip yet in this pic, very disappointed. never write complaints like this but was really looking forward to trying this place, but if you’re gonna charge that much for just a 12oz coffee at least fill the cup, even with just ice, anything, idc. got this bc it looked good in other reviews but its so much less appealing and full than expected. i’ll note other reviews said this tasted good so my personal preference isn’t a service problem but it was horrible, could not even finish. only good part was the whip although kinda looked weird. was really looking forward to trying this place bc the vibe is cool

Google
Great time at this location. I wish it still had the Try Hard coffee shop vibe, but the atmosphere here is still great. I got a speciality coffee and my gosh it was so sweet - but I didn’t ask any questions to see if this was gonna be a good choice. The breakfast sandwich was fantastic. Excited to come back!

June 2025: A tiny spin-off of radio coffee down south, this is a little satellite. Mostly coffee shop but also have mixed beverages and the like. And even CBD or THC beverages, mildly surprising! There's some snacky snack food and sandwichy sandwiches. Had the: CAFE DE CACHAPA. $13 Amaras Mezcal, Elote Liqueur, RCB Cold Brew, Cream This was a delightful caffeinated beverage, not too heavy on the booze which was actually great for the moment. -- Excellent, cold brew, Smokey, delightful. There were a couple of baristas/, both the guys seem chill and cordial. Had a seat in the corner. It took them probably 7ish minutes to make the beverage, and sat and had a chill moment while enjoying the cold brew mezcal before moving on about my evening. Parking is pretty easy as you're not in a stupid populated area, you can probably just get on the street or nearby for free.

Not gonna lie, I'm still mourning the loss of Try Hard Coffee that was here before Radio, but I have to admit Radio has done a great job with the space. I came in first for an emo karaoke night and they had really good cocktails for way cheaper than most bars. Staff was cool to chill with. Finally tried the coffee at this location (I've had the OG long ago) and it was pretty damned good. Even better that I went for their anniversary party and it was only a buck. Will have to show Radio Rosewood more love moving forwards.

Google
Really into the vibe here. It’s a great place to get some work done. I respect what they’ve done with the design, taking it over from Try Hard. There’s a steady buzz of digital nomads in flight. Music is present, but not distracting. Radio’s design features a darker, more rustic color palate with slightly dimmer lighting; yet, enough light in the front and back to brighten things up. Seasonal coffee menu is interesting - the spiced oat latte was on point, not too sweet. The breakfast sandwich was good enough. I’d get it again just because the aioli was interesting, though not something I would crave and specifically come back for. Service was solid, as well - friendly without being OTT. It’s early days, but seems they hire good people here in general. Y’all should definitely give this place a shot!

Google
I was served a perfect macchiato dopio, a delicious cinnamon roll, and a complimentary sparking water to cleanse the palette. Beautiful, contemplative music with Spanish language vocalist at just the right volume as background. Most seats were taken but it was still possible to pick a comfortable spot. Many of the customers seem to be regulars, but everyone is greeted with warmth and consideration. Great place on the historic East Austin Main Street, 11th street.

Yelp
I used to live in the apartment complex right down the street and loved coming here! I always got the chai latte served hot and it was fire. Legit the best chai I've tried and I haven't been able to find one as good. I've tried the food here before when they first opened this location and while it was good the portions were kinda small for the price. I like this spot as coffee and chill spot with friends or as a cute cocktail before going out to dinner with friends. Also all their merch is really cute!

Yelp
Flint & Lauren were my servers truly great at what they do. The ambiance is vintage and extremely cool. The food would was outstanding. I got the "No Name Fries" and they deserve a name because they were amazing. Flint suggested the "Frozen Saturn" and I suggest everyone try it. I would recommend it to friends - 10/10

Yelp
I ate a late dinner here on September 26. I got a chicken sandwich and Texas cider to continue the fall vibes. Both were great, and I enjoyed the quiet upscale vibes the establishment brings at night after the sun goes down and the moody lighting is turned on. My stuff wasn't stolen when I briefly used the restroom as well, haha! I could tell many of the folks who were in the restaurant knew each other and/or familiar with the staff who worked there. I always love being on the side at "neighborhood energy" spots like all of Radio's locations.

Yelp
Pretty good place for the nice interior and outside seating with many places to walk to before or after. There's staff was really nice and friendly, everyone had tattoos and nose rings, that's how you know coffee would be good. We got two specials - banana split coffee. It was good in the taste, kind of citrusy I would say. A lot of ice in a cup which makes the amount of drink obv smaller. But I feel like I would return here when in this neighborhood.

Yelp
Nice space near walkable places like getting a coffee before your haircut. Lots of good outdoor space, great staff. The special drinks are also pretty good though pricy for a lot of ice and only some drink. But overall still a place I will return to if I'm nearby.

Yelp
This is such a cool spot, feels like a bar during the nights and probably a cafe during the day. I went here with a couple of girlfriends on a Thursday night and it was the perfect spot. It was a little bit busy because they had trivia night going out on the patio, but still not loud enough to have a conversation :) We ordered margs and they were great. For food we ordered the Herby chicken salad sandwich - delicious and so filling. My friend also got the smashed burger, which looked yummy. The dishes came with arugula salad - I loved it. The staff was so kind and efficient. Would 10/10 visit again!

Yelp
This is a MUST visit coffee shop, oh my gosh! I absolutely love it here, I have yapped with my friends for hours here. The drinks here taste so unique and are so good. I have gotten the Tropical Matcha Spritz and Banana Foster Shaken Espresso (these are seasonal drink options), and I am obsessed. The matcha spritz was surprising at first as it's definitely not shy with the acidity, but the tang with a slight sweetness is such a good combination. I could not really taste banana flavor with the espresso, but the drink was nonetheless aesthetic and tasty. I like the dim lights and vibe inside the coffee shop. It's a cozy spot that I could easily spend chilling and getting work done. Also, it is in such a nice area with a lot of good restaurants and shops nearby.

Yelp
4.5 stars Came here for the matcha but got the Vietnamese coffee instead. It was fairly good but def not the traditional kind that I was expecting. It's a nice darker spot to enjoy with friends. Might be a little too loud to do work here but I like the vibes.

Yelp
Amazing spot to hang out at. Great drinks of all kind, good happy hour, and fun events and programming coming up. It's cozy and can get packed quickly but it's the perfect neighborhood hangout spot

Yelp
Love all the Radio locations including this one! It's probably the smallest of the 3 but still very on theme for the east side. The vibe is chill and the music is low so great for working or just conversation. The drinks are creative and fun! I really liked mine the boozy banana foster. Next time I'll be back to try the coffee.

Yelp
All-day neighborhood hub with top-tier coffee, cocktails & bites Radio Rosewood hits the sweet spot between laid-back and elevated. Tucked into a former café space on East 11th, this third outpost of the beloved Radio Coffee & Beer lineup delivers everything you want--from morning espresso to evening cocktails. Why do I love it? Vibe: Sleek leather banquettes, pendant lighting, and local art create a warm, welcoming atmosphere--sophisticated but never pretentious. Drinks: Stellar coffee drinks by day, and a sharp cocktail menu by night, plus beer & natural wines. Thoughtful, craft-forward choices feel right at home here. Food: Shortwave Diner's first brick-and-mortar pops out with smash burgers, tacos, breakfast bowls, avocado toast, and hearty diner staples from morning til night. Community feel: A true "third space"--whether it's networking events, chill hangouts, or casual work sessions--the space adapts. The owners are committed to affordable drinks and community impact, donating proceeds from coffee bag sales to local nonprofits. Tip: Grab a seat on the inviting patio when the weather's good--ideal for weekend lounging with good brew in hand!

Yelp
Big fan of all the Radio Coffee spots, so I was thrilled to see a new one pop up within walking distance of my office! Like the other spots around town, this one brings the same magic: a killer coffee and cocktail lineup and tasty bites from Shortwave Diner. I'd never tried their food before so I went for the breakfast sandwich and wow it did not disappoint. Paired it with my go-to oat milk iced coffee, and it was a match made in brunch heaven. The space has plenty of bar seating, cozy booths, and outdoor tables, plus a stage for live music and a vibrant mural that really ties it all together. Excited to see how Radio Rosewood continues to grow as it's already off to a great start!

Yelp
Adorable little coffee bar! We stopped for brunch and some coffee mid Sunday morning. Little to no wait. Everyone we interacted with was pleasant!

Yelp
* 4.5 stars * Highly recommend this spot! We really enjoyed this setup. It's nice to enjoy a beverage while working + be amongst others who are also working. There's a small outdoor space in the back to relax and get some air. If you stay til end of day, you're rewarded with happy hour!

Rachel S.

Yelp
Nice place to kill a few hours. Small menu that can please anyone and enough seating to accommodate work, dates, family, whatever. Service and food were good.

Yelp
Loving the new Radio! The inside is gorgeous, the patio is super hip, the drinks are delicious, and I love the breakfast options. I also came for an Emo Karaoke night that was super fun! It's a great spot any time of day. The only thing is, the tables are a little small for co-working, and there isn't a ton of seating, so it might not be the best for getting work done. I like having meetings here though.
google avatar

Garrett M.

Yelp
Solid for almost all reasons. I'm always looking to post up and work from a spot for a few hours. So I'm needing comfy seating , a good beverage (get the matcha spritz), reliable WiFi , and good food options if needed (harass them to bring back the BTL, but the smash burger is great). I recommend!

Yelp
I love this new location for Radio. This is such a fun spot to hang out on the weekends in the patio, or even just to work inside during the day. The menu is great, and I love that they offer THC drinks too. In fact they made us something off menu that was DELICIOUS! I also love that they have vegan options. Would definitely recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
Coffee was cool. The team was okay. I felt like the service could've been a tad bit quicker but it was a busy Saturday morning. I enjoyed the areas to sit in and outside and that they have space for doggies on the patio area. Will return again and try another drink out!
google avatar

Yelp
Incredible what they've done to the interior of this place. Impeccable vibes. Good folk too. Haven't tried the beer yet but they have a great selection. This is a good meet up spot.

Yelp
I visited here for an event with my friend, and I cannot wait to return. We had the most amazing vanilla matcha lattes paired with great music. I could definitely see myself coming to work from home or just listen to music and have a quick meal with friends. The mocktails were great as well. Service was quick and everyone was very friendly.

Yelp
I had pretty high hopes for Radio, but sadly it missed the mark! A group of 4 of us stopped by while waiting for our table at Loudmouth to be available across the street. There were not too many people there when we went -- only one other person ordering ahead of us (but several parties already seated with drinks and food in the back patio). It took over 5 minutes before we could order, which was not a problem for us particularly, but definitely something to note. We ordered, and the prices on the menu were not the prices we were charged. My partner ordered a frozen drink that was $13 on the menu, but rang up as $14.50 pre-tax. Again, this is not a huge problem, but definitely was cause for confusion, given they literally just opened, so the menu should reflect the actual prices. Outside, the tables and chairs were pretty ratty tatty and dirty. Again, odd, since they just opened. The string lights were flickering and turning on and off constantly outside, which ended up giving us quite a headache. I did like how it was dog-friendly outside, however! I believe this Radio location would be so cute as just a coffee shop, and I do want to return for coffee during the day. However, I don't plan on returning for drinks at night.

Yelp
2/12/25: Opening day and it's a PACKED HOUSE! Rightfully so, because everyone loves the local Radio crew. The only complaint I've ever had is them not being in the neighborhood. Now they are!! A five minute walk from my apartment. Even though it was super packed, we received the same quality service as always and as expected. This gang knows how to do it right! We had the lavender macchiato and mint mocha and wow. Talk about going to flavor town. They always know how to get just the right mix of syrup and coffee together. Even though they were super busy, one for the leads Patrick took the time to get to know us and talk doggies. He even gave us the 411 on what's to come; evening cocktails, etc. One of the partners, Trey even stopped by our table to chat with us. This is why Radio is so amazing! They love what they do and they treat customers like family. My heart is as happy as my belly. Chill back patio that made for a good area to relax since the inside was so jammed. This location has an in-house kitchen rather than a food truck. Awesome! We shared an Austin Dog & fries and they were delish. Perfectly cooked...ON OPENING DAY! Everything was so streamlined you'd never know it was the first day.

Yelp
While visiting Austin, we stopped by Radio Rosewood, although this place is more than just coffee. Our experience focused on this. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating areas, perfect for enjoying a cup with friends. But what I truly want to highlight is the coffee. We tried a couple of different variations during our visit, and all were amazing; perfectly brewed cups with high-quality beans. It's definitely a place to try if you want to enjoy a good cup of coffee.
google avatar

Yelp
We loved Radio Rosewood! The drinks were delicious and the staff were so nice. The lead bartender made us an off-menu drink that was very good and said they rotate drinks pretty often. The music was a little weird at times but overall this was a great spot and we will definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Very cozy spot! It's aesthetically pleasing from the plants outside to the gorgeous, clean, vintage decor in the inside. There was a fantastic variety of music playing, and my friend and I played several matches of Backgammon. I ordered the fries and some hot chocolate, while my friend ordered a chocolate chip cookie. This place was a whole Sunday afternoon VIBE. I loved it! The fries were absolutely perfect; crispy and flaky, unlike any other fry I've had. I eat mine with mayo. The hot chocolate came with whipped cream by request. I can't wait to return!

Yelp
This is my favorite matcha in town!!! Staff is so kind and pastries are amazing. Breakfast is hit or miss, but still good. My favorite thing about this place is cozy seating inside and amazing patio outside.
